Over the past month, Naruto was going through a mini hellscape of his own. Being trapped in an enemy prison isn't a good thing, but the cruelty and blood thirst of some guards brought constant suffering. And the constant interrogation attempts and mind games never ceased, and Naruto had to remain strong to live. They needed him alive, he knew that much. But he didn't know why. According to what he heard, he should have been lynched by now, but he had no information. Though that same day, one of the nobles decided to visit.
Flashback
"Rise and shine boy, our ruler decided to visit you personally. I would wish you good luck, but I frankly don't care if you live or die." The guard walked away, leaving entrance for the man who spoke to him last time. He had short golden hair that glowed with almost hypnotic gold eyes. He even had gold streaks across his skin, but they weren't too noticeable. He wore an expensive kimono decorated in riches and designs.
"Greetings, boy. Even after 5 days in here you still haven't talked, have you? Well, you shinobi are stubborn, or so I hear. And you didn't even give us your name, so petty. Well, how about you start to talk, and maybe we can loosen your sentence a bit. Maybe you won't need to be executed after all if you give us the right information, it can only help you."
Naruto looked up defiantly. His condition was pitiful, covered in blood and grime and his skin bruised and burned. His teeth were stained red and his chest was a mixture of dark red and purple. Naruto seemed to smile a bit, before spitting blood in his mouth at the noble, missing him, but sending a message.
The noble stood back up and looked down at Naruto, as waves and waves of energy radiated off of him. The room started to shake as some walls began to shutter and crack. The air hung still, yet felt like a hurricane. Naruto could see the chakra emanating off of the man, his golden hair and eyes glowing intensely. Naruto almost felt his mind crack from the pressure, like a drill being forced into his brain, but he resisted. Soon, it stopped as the man sighed. "Well, boy, you can only play this little game for so long before we have to kill you. Farewell, and my offer still stands." The ruler of Steam walked away and Naruto visibly sighed in relief.
It seemed like the bloodline did more than just look pretty, he needed to be taken care of. This man could be a threat to the world if they decided to amass an army. Thankfully, he planned to. He just needed to wait a bit for the opportunity. Naruto mauvered his hands and revealed a small piece of metal that slowly chipped away at the bars, Naruto filing away. After awhile, Naruto would be free.
Flashback End
In a few more days, the chains would be loose enough for him to escape, but today, something new happened. For some reason, the guards were dragging him to a different room, for reasons he didn't know. He had a bag over his head, meaning he couldn't see anywhere he was going. All he felt was descending down stairs, but that wasn't particularly helpful information.
The bag was lifted and Naruto appeared to be underground. It was a dusty, room with stone bricks lining the walls and support beams of metal. The room had no windows and was only illuminated by lamps. In the center was what looked like a well, but not a traditional one. In fact, light was coming from the well, and heat.
"Well, inmate. We'll give you one last chance to spill the information, before we have to resort to more deadly methods." The guard to his left spoke, pulling a lever to raise a metal pole with a circle on the front of it. The circle was roughly half the size of his torso, so it was decently large. It was also orange from the heat.
"In Steam, we have a tradition for prisoners, and that's our famous tattoo. If you don't talk, we will brand you chest with the symbol of Steam, marking you as a prisoner forever. So your choice, be forever looked at as a prisoner and slave, or just tell us the location of the rebel base and how many there are. Simple as that." The guard next to him picked up the pole and showed Naruto it, his shirt being ripped off.
"Screw you bastards." Naruto spit at the man with the branding stick, the guard getting riled up. The other guard motioned his hand forward and Naruto then felt the iron hit his skin, burning it intensely. Naruto let out a small scream of pain as it burned heavily, covering almost the whole part of his chest and torso. After a few seconds, the man pulled it back and put it away, a panting Naruto going limp in his legs.
On his chest was 3 squiggling lines upward like steam and surrounded by trees and mountains, like a mini portrait. The burning sensation only kept getting worse, Naruto's body not used to naturally regenerating instead of Kyubi chakra, making his system functions work a lot slower. The guards had to carry Naruto back up the stairs and lock him back into his cuffs. After a few minutes, Naruto recovered himself. A new determination filled his eyes as he chiseled away at the cuffs. He would soon be free.
Meanwhile with Sasuke
Not too long has passed, but thanks to Madara, Sasuke found himself able to learn jutsu and techniques at an insanely fast rate. He expanded his jutsu collection of fire and lighting jutsu, even redesigning and manipulating the chidori into a variety of new jutsu. For example, he could use chidori and separate it into senbon projectiles and extend it's reach, but that's all he figured out how to do.
His fire style jutsu repertoire increased heavily, him now knowing a variety of A and S rank fire jutsu, including the Majestic Destroyer Flame. Madara said that his affinity for both fire and lighting was some of the highest he had ever seen, which was impressive coming from a man alive for more than 150 years.
Intense training had allowed his Sharingan to awaken a third tomoe, and the training only started there. A variety of different genjutsu and ocular techniques were handed down to him, his Sharingan able to learn these almost instantly. His genjutsu level may not rival his brother, but he was well skilled in the art. Speaking of which.
Sasuke found out that Madara knew where Itachi was and that he would eventually allow Sasuke to take revenge. In the depths of his stomach, Sasuke yearned to kill his brother, to avenge his clan, and make sure that the Uchiha name won't be disgraced. In his eyes, Itachi was a traitor and failure to the Uchiha belief. Sasuke wanted to change this, and make the clan whole again. And he was only getting closer.
Madara had give Sasuke another edge, by implanting his cells into his eyes. Sasuke's body now contained the cells of the strongest Uchiha to live, Madara, and his ocular powers and jutsu increased by insane margins, as well has his physical and mental straight. Sasuke only felt that after he killed his brother, there was something greater, a purpose engraved in these cells. But, oddly, the cells didn't feel like Madara, the masked man in front of him. He felt no chakra connection to the man, even though his chakra is now apart of him. It was strange, and Sasuke began to grow doubts on who the man is. But, he would find this out later, because right now, he was jumping through the forest. He was on his way to a certain location, where Itachi was currently.
With Obito, the man had spent months preparing this event. Obito needed Sasuke to awaken his Mangekyou Sharingan and to transplant the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan of his brother into him. With this, he wouldn't need to rely on Pain for the heavy work, and could task the young Uchiha to gather the stronger Jinchuriki. Although, he could tell that his status as Madara wasn't holding strong, but it didn't matter. All would be revealed after the death of Itachi.
"My foolish little brother, you finally found me."
"Itachi, I've come to avenge the Uchiha Clan and kill you, and finally wipe the stain of my clan away." Sasuke's voice contained anger and malice, but conviction.
Itachi swiftly moved behind Sasuke, who blocked a punch with his arm. The fight had begun. Itachi threw another swift punch at Sasuke's gut, but Sasuke could see it in slow motion and dodged easily. Itachi followed with a spin kick to Sasuke's head, but Sasuke also dodged it.
Itachi expected this and jumped, swinging his arm underneath his body and doing a flip to nail Sasuke in the face, making him step back. Sasuke jumped back into the fray and began to throw a barrage of punches and kicks that had Itachi on his heel. Itachi created distance and threw several shuriken with wires, but Sasuke jumped in between the wires and maneuvered his body into safety, catching Itachi off guard at the aggressive approach.
Sasuke managed to land a punch to Itachi's gut, making the older brother wince at the impact. Sasuke had power behind his punches, maybe range would help him out. Itachi locked eyes with Sasuke, both putting layered genjutsu on each other. Sasuke saw Itachi disappear into crows, and Itachi saw Sasuke dissolve into ashes. Both used their respective genjutsu as cover and began to plot. Sasuke made the first move.
"Fire Style: Raging Wildfire" A layer of flames began to engulf the whole room, making Itachi break the cover and go for an attack to Sasuke, who merely jumped through the flames. The special thing about these flames is that they move away from the user at all times, making escape easy. Itachi flew through a few hand signs, "Water Style: Exploding Water Wave." A wave of water extinguished the fire, and Itachi immediately looked Sasuke in the eyes. "Tsukuyomi"
Sasuke found himself in a dark world with a red sky, strapped to a cross. Sasuke struggled, but it was futile. Around him, Itachi clones appeared and aimed swords to stab Sasuke. But Sasuke only smirked as he disintegrated into ashes. Itachi was wide eyed and canceled the genjutsu. "How?"
"Simple, you put a fire clone in a genjutsu." Sasuke pulled out a multitude of projectiles, from senbon, shuriken, to kunai and paper bomb kunai. Sasuke wired them all together and flung them across the room. Pretty soon, they all were converging on Itachi, who was dodging and weaving through the onslaught. Sasuke smirked, "Bingo."
A boom sounded as 4 paper bombs blew up near Itachi, but the man only slightly burned his clothing. Sasuke was angry, but contained it. "Just going to play defense, huh. Maybe you were weaker than I thought." Itachi didn't fall for the taunt, only looking at Sasuke with a straight face.
He then went through hand signs and Sasuke followed suite. "Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!" Both yelled. Two raging fireballs clashed, but Sasuke's was bigger and hotter than Itachi's making the older brother cancel the jutsu and substitute away. Sasuke went through more hand signs, "Lighting Style: Static Pulse." A wave of electricity covered the area and temporarily paralyzed Itachi, which Sasuke took the opportunity and slammed his knee into the brother's gut, making him lean over in pain. Just then, Itachi's eye morphed into an unknown pattern, and Sasuke heard one word. "Amaterasu."
Black flames rushed at Sasuke, who used his enhanced Sharingan to see the chakra building up in his eyes. Sasuke dashed through the areas they were in, jumping from rock to rock. The flames almost caught up, but Sasuke used a body flicker and evaded them. Itachi canceled the jutsu and Sasuke jumped onto a ledge. Sasuke then jumped down next to Itachi at blinding speed, making the brother's eyes widen. "Fire Style: Flame Torrent." Sasuke spat out a pillar of flames that missed Itachi and traveled high into the sky, bring in clouds.
Itachi went through a few more hand signs, "Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu" A barrage of tiny fireballs shot toward Sasuke who pulled out a kunai and began to deflect them, the size indicating slight chakra exhaustion. Sasuke only smiled. "Itachi, if you look him, you can see the final sight in your lifetime. The greatest lighting jutsu yet." Itachi looked and his mouth opened in shock.
Above him was a massive lighting dragon staring down at him, ready to strike. Sasuke's hand engulfed in electricity as a beam shot upward, the dragon shooting down. A loud boom sounded as a massive explosion tore apart any surface nearby. The mountainous area they were in was engulfed in a bright light. When the smoke cleared, Itachi still stood. An armored figure surrounded him, and Itachi was bloody and his clothes were singed. He began to walk forward.
Sasuke panicked a bit, and quickly went through hand signs, "Lightning Style: Thunder Arrow" An arrow of lightning shot at the Susanoo, but it was deflected and hit Sasuke, electrocuting him. Sasuke jumped back, but was back to back with the edge of a cliff. Itachi only kept moving forward, swaying from pain and exhaustion.
He was inches from Sasuke, but before he could continue, he fell down and died. The skeleton dissolved and Itachi lay motionless. Sasuke looked wide eyed at this, it was his greatest dream, but it felt so horrible. He felt a part of himself die, all the memories with his brother came back. His eyes began to sting and burn, subconsciously awakening the Mangekyou Sharingan. Sasuke began to shed tears of joy and sorrow, weeping and celebrating the death of his brother.
Madara appeared in front of him and a single glance from his Sharingan put Sasuke to sleep. With Obito, he saw the climax and finish of the battle. He picked Sasuke up and Kamui'd him away, grabbing Itachi as well. They both arrived back at the hideout, and Obito began to go to work.
He lay Sasuke and Itachi side by side on a medical table as Zetsu brought him surgical equipment. Obito took off his mask and began to work. He carefully removed Sasuke's eyes and Itachi's switching them out. He began the painstaking process of reconnecting Itachi's eyes to Sasuke, but after an hour, it was successful. Sasuke should now have eternal eye sight, and finally be useful to him. But first, he needed to tell him of the massacre to further his belief in himself. Obito smiled as he slipped back on the mask and woke up Sasuke.
Sasuke woke up slowly and he saw Madara next to him. "Well, your battle with your brother was quite eventful, and you killed the man who killed our clan." Sasuke looked blank, no emotion present. He was confused and delirious, but Obito still told him. He told Sasuke everything, about the clan, the massacre, and even of his plan to collect the Bijuu, but Sasuke kept getting more and more unstable. By the end of it, Sasuke hadn't said a word the whole time, just staring like he had seen a ghost. Then, Obito saw it.
Sasuke's eyes unwillingly morphed to the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, and Sasuke uttered a word he didn't know the meaning of. "Amaterasu." The whole hideout was engulfed in black flames, including Obito, who started to panic. He didn't have a spare eye in right now, and quickly ran through the lab to get a spare eye.
Obito screamed as Zetsu quickly implanted an eye inside of him. Thanks to Hashirama cells, it only took 3 minutes before it settled in. Immediately, Obito yelled, "Izanagi!" and the flames disappeared. His eye closed and Obito ripped it out and threw it away. He grabbed a storage scroll and began to seal all of the Amaterasu, until the room was empty. It was so empty that there wasn't Sasuke. Obito panicked, Sasuke had run. And in his emotional state, he could be miles away by now. "Shit! Zetsu, find Sasuke!" Zetsu sunk away, and Obito began to pace. Now Sasuke was missing, and he needed him back. Otherwise, there wasn't a way he could complete the dream of him and his master, the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
...
That is the end of this chapter. I mainly wanted to get some Sasuke development and sorry for not uploading for a bit. I am trying to get better at writing and make better plot and chapters, so, again, sorry. I hope you enjoyed and let me know if you like the new plot and stuff to improve. Thanks and have a good rest of your day.
