Three Days Later
Jane had made very little progress on finding out anything related to who was trying to kill Maura. She had however, managed to get some distance between herself and Claudia, thanks to the kiss Maura had given her in the visitation room.
Claudia had apologized for trying to horn in on another woman's woman. She had however told Jane that if she became single, she would be back to claim her.
Jane had also been called to the commissary to retrieve her wedding ring. She turned it over and over in her hand before looking inside the band. She had to squint to see what it said: an engraved heart and the letters MJ. She smiled at the thought of Maura having her fake wedding band inscribed.
She had just slipped it on her ring finger when she saw Penny walking toward her.
"Karen! Is that your wedding ring?" Jane nodded. "Let me see!"
She held her hand out and Penny smiled as she admired the ring.
"Glad you finally got it back. What they think you can smuggle in with a ring I'll never know!" She watched Jane closely. "How come you didn't say you were married when we first met?"
Jane shrugged. "I don't talk about my personal life."
"I get it, but everybody is curious. Like, they think you were intentionally hiding that fact. And that makes them think there is something to hide." Penny was looking at her expectantly.
Thinking quickly, Jane replied, "We got married right before I was sentenced." She shrugged again. "It's just very new."
"Ah." Penny's eyes went wide. "Hey,does that mean you guys haven't had a honeymoon?"
Seeing Claudia coming toward her, she absently answered, "Yes."
Penny, oblivious to what currently held Jane's attention, grabbed her hands. "First time you get a conjugal, we'll fix up the trailer for you two!"
Finally tuning back into what Penny was saying, Jane became alarmed as Penny's words sunk in. "What?"
Penny giggled. "The laundry workers are in charge of cleaning and maintaining the conjugal trailer. So, when it's time, we'll get you hooked up. And don't worry about making a mess on the sheets. I'll take care of them."
Jane felt her stomach sink. "...Great. Thanks."
Jane decided to think about conjugal visits and clean sheets later. She had a library pass and needed to poke around. It was the one place she had yet to check out.

Library
Jane busied herself with looking through old magazines. She noticed the library had old microfiche machines and two other inmates were using them.
Grabbing a book off a table, she took it to the circulation desk to check out.
Jerking her head in the direction of the inmates using the microfiche machines, she asked, "Surprised those things are still around. What are they looking for?"
The inmate working the desk shrugged. "Most of our forensic and legal journals are only available on microfiche."
Jane nodded. "A lot of people looking stuff up?"
The clerk shrugged. "More than you might think. Especially since all those forensic shows came out."
Jane looked back at the clerk, wondering just how long she had been in custody.
The clerk seemed to sense what Jane was thinking and answered the unasked question. "18 years of a 27 year sentence."
Jane, embarrassed at having been caught, averted her eyes. "Sorry."
"No worries."
Jane made a mental note to have Korsak check out the library access.

After dinner, Jane went to make her nightly call to Maura. Maura answered on the third ring.
"Hey baby. How was your day?"
"It was good. And your day?"
Jane glanced around, making sure nobody was around. "Pretty good, Mo. I finally made it to the library. They still have those old machines? The microfiche ones. Clerk said almost all of the forensic and legal journals are only available that way."
Maura, catching on to what Jane was getting at, answered, "I'll have to give you some articles to look-up."
They spent the next few minutes chatting about regular things until the prompt telling them they had two minutes left, chimed in.
"Hey Mo...uh, we uh, we can have a conjugal visit. Ya know? Us being married and all." Jane glanced around. "Penny, the woman I work with in the laundry? She said she'd take care of making the conjugal trailer nice for us. Since we didn't get to have a honeymoon and all."
Jane flinched ever so lightly at having to suggest a conjugal visit to Maura. Even though she knew Maura understood what she meant, it still felt weird saying that. Especially since Maura's kiss had made her nipples harden, and sparked a few less than chaste dreams the last few nights.
On the other end of the line, Maura almost choked. Sputtering, she managed to get out, "Ok. We can make that happen." Maura licked her suddenly dry lips and continued, ""I'll have Korsak get it set up. Ok?"
Jane released a breath she didn't know she was holding, and smiled into the phone.
"Ok baby. Thank you."

Vince Korsak answered his door and was surprised to find Maura Isles on his doorstep.
"Maura? Everything ok? Jane?"
Maura nodded and stepped inside. Kiki was visiting her sister, so it was just the two of them.
"She has some information she wants checked out." She glanced down as she said the rest. "We need for you to arrange a conjugal visit for Karen and Mo."
Korsak shook his head to make sure he understood what she had said.
"Conjugal visit?"
Maura nodded. "Conjugal visit."
