Disclaimer: I don't own One Piece Oda Eiichiro does. I don't own the character of Victor Von Doom he belongs to Marvel. I don't own Mass Effect, it belongs to Bioware and EA. I don't even own this brain that I'm using to write really, it was all wrinkled when I got it, I've been wondering "Who wrinkled me this brain?" my whole life.

Author's Note: This one took a bit to write, I was originally going to post this with the others. Also I reiterate, I am not going to make him OP overnight, in case anyone cares enough to worry about that. Feedback on the action scene would be helpful. Also, if there are any mistakes in how I explained the flintlocks work then please point them out because I am by no means a gun expert. I do know how to fire one though so there's that. Right, I'm off to sleep.

As I found out later my vain hopes for some peaceful sleep without nightmares was doomed(heh) from the start.

I made my way out of the forest trying desperately not to think about the disturbing implications of everything that happened today. I walked in to the mansion and straight to where my room was, without even trying to take a look around, I took off my shoes, kevlar vest and belt, threw the cube I was experimenting on at the night stand next to the bed and simply collapsed on the bed and closed my eyes.

I laid there desperately trying to get my brain to shut off so I could finally put this miserable day behind me. Honestly there should be a quota of how much weirdness you can stuff into a single day. Granted this is the One Piece world so the quota is higher than normal but I still think this day has more than exceeded the maximum amount of weirdness allowed for one day.

After a long while the day's exhaustion finally caught up to me and I surrendered myself the dark abyss of sleep. However, that peace was short lived as soon after falling asleep I found myself standing in a corridor metallic walls, floor and ceiling.

"Oh for fucks sake, let me fucking sleep. I'm done with the weirdness for today." I whispered miserably as I sat down on the ground since I didn't even have the energy to yell anymore.

I stayed like that for a few moments until I heard someone coming up from behind me I turned my head around and saw a woman with black hair wearing a familiar looking blue uniform with golden highlights and a stylized "A" with three stars under the arch on the left side of her upper chest. She was walking as she was reading something on a glowing screen that was being projected from her left hand.

I was a little beyond caring by now but I still got up and turned around to face the woman who still hadn't noticed me, too absorbed on reading whatever it was that was one the screen.

I called out to her to get her attention. "Hey, can you tell me where the hell I am ?"

The woman however kept ignoring me and kept walking straight at me. Now at any other time I would have gotten out of her way but right now I was starting to look forward to an argument or a fight even so I narrowed my eyes at her and stayed put where I was.

The woman kept walking towards me and then proceeded to walk right through me, scaring the crap out of me and making me jump a foot in the air.

"What the hell?!" I exclaimed the fright giving me some energy back.

Now, when most people are confronted with a possible ghost, literally ghosting right through them they tend to run the other way. For some reason I decided to go after her.

"Hey ghost lady!" I called out as I caught up and tried to tap her on the shoulder only to have my hand pass straight through her as if she was made of air.

"Huh, no weird sensations of cold or anything else." I idly observed as my hand was still going through her shoulder as I kept pace with her.

I then noticed the screen on her left hand and tried to read what it said. Surprisingly or unsurprisingly it was in English and not the weird language of the One Piece world which I now knew as well courtesy of the massive info dump from the flashbacks earlier. The screen had a supplies requisition sheet with someone requesting more citrus based produce from Benning for Arcturus Station and that was as far as I read before it finally clicked for me.

I absently stopped walking as I realized that the uniform that woman was wearing was the Alliance Navy uniform from Mass Effect. "This is the mass effect world." I absently spoke to myself.

I looked up at the woman again who had turned a corner ahead in the corridor and started walking after her while thinking about this latest revelation. "This must be what ROB meant about experiencing the world where the technological knowledge comes from as the price for acquiring the technology. It chose Mass Effect universe for the source of my technological knowledge."

I went over what I knew about the universe of Mass Effect as I turned the corner and saw that the woman I was following had entered some sort of common recreational area with a cafeteria that could comfortably seat at least a hundred people. I looked around and noticed that none of the other people seem to be noticing me either. I spotted a window on the other side of the wall and quickly made my way over to it and saw the cold dark expanse of space beyond.

"These people don't seem like they're in the middle of a war with genocidal space whales, not enough desperation and fear in the air. So I guess I'm sometime before Mass Effect 3 which means it's possible I'm on Arcturus Station." I reasoned then broke out into a massive grin.

"I changed my mind this is the good kind of weird. I'm in space! Take that Mrs Derricks you dream killing harpy!" I yelled out triumphantly, finally proving my tenth grade science teacher wrong. 'Oh you have to grow up now and start thinking practically.'

"Well screw you, you hag, I made it. I had to die first and get here as a ghost but I fucking did it. This, this might just make up for all the miserable shit from earlier. Although, ending up here every time I go to sleep is going to be hell on my mind, even if my brain can keep up thanks to devil fruit bullshit I don't think I can say the same for my mind." I mused out loud.

I spent the next several minutes walking around the cafet- no, since I'm on a space ship it would be called a galley. I looked around the galley for a few minutes. I tried interacting with people by trying to smack an ensign on the back of his head, only to have my hand pass straight through again. I tried picking up glasses and plates with the same results then, I tried walking through the door of the men's room(I am NOT Sanji thank you very much.) and I ghosted straight through.

"Note to self, don't accidentally walk out into space." Once I was satisfied I couldn't meaningfully interact with anything or anyone I started hanging around the people and tried picking up some conversations and confirming that yes I actually was on Arcturus Station. No mention of Reapers as expected but also no one was talking about the first human SPECTRE Commander Shepard either, which might mean nothing or it might mean that I'm earlier than canon or that he's died at the hands of the collectors and the world's forgotten him and that Cerberus's trying to put him back together. Oh, and "he" might be a "she" instead but since I only ever played male Shepard I think I'm gonna stick with "he" until I'm proven otherwise.

After a while of wandering I started to wonder. "The tech level of this universe is very advanced but almost all of it is contingent on Element Zero so given that I can create Eezo with my devil fruit abilities the tech here is more than advanced enough for my purposes. But how the hell am I supposed to learn anything by just wandering around in ghost form unable to interact with anything?"

No sooner that I had said that, that I noticed a computer terminal. This wasn't the first one that I had noticed no but, this one stood out because it was glowing in an eerie gold light and this light wasn't coming off a holographic interface or screen either like all other terminals I had seen, it seemed to be glowing from within itself as if it was about to go up in golden flames. "That's not suspicious at all." I noted sarcastically and walked over to it.

I stared at the glowing computer terminal for a bit just daring it to do something weird but it just sat there. "I am taking far too many leaps of faith today but, nothing ventured nothing gained. Here goes nothing I guess." I reached out to the terminal and hit the enter key.

The eerie golden glow jumped to me and I was instantly given a massive info dump of how that computer was made, the exact atomic structure of all of the elements and compounds used in its construction, the scientific mechanism behind its components and even how the OS and all the programs installed on it were coded.

As soon as that info dump was complete darkness crept in from around the edges of my vision and I somehow fell back asleep.

I woke up the next day in the bed, back at the mansion surprisingly well rested. I looked out the window to my left and say that it was still night though it looked like the sunrise was pretty close. "Well, I am far more well rested than I assumed I'd be but if this becomes a daily thing I can see that taking a toll. On the plus side I still clearly remember the info dump from last night and I could probably make a working computer and not just any computer but a holographic one with advanced processing capabilities." I thought happily.

"Hmm, I went to sleep when the sun hadn't set yet and waking up now maybe an hour or two before sunrise. I could chalk that up to being mentally exhausted or it could be that I sleep for longer now because of my, uh…. dream walking? Yeah I'm gonna call it dream walking." I speculated out loud staring at the ceiling still laying in the bed.

I had never been a morning person but I had adapted to making myself wake up at whatever time I could and work on as little sleep as it was possible over the past 4 years. I still hated the sun with a passion but now I had learned to live with my hate.

"Fuck I am really hungry and there isn't anything to eat in the mansion either is there?" I had been gone for 5 months, I had eaten whatever food I could and donated the rest to the village I saw earlier which was actually called Pots Town.

"There should be some condiments in the kitchen but nothing to actually eat." I mused making my way off the bed, I put on my shoes, kevlar vest and belt and starting to walk out of the bedroom when I noticed my experiment cube from last night still sitting on the nightstand.

"Oh yeah." I walked over and picked it up then made my way out of the room when I caught a whiff of my ripe scent. "Ugh, need a shower too, because no more baths for me." I muttered.

"So, I have two options I could either walk all the way to the village down the cliff and buy something to eat or I could go into the forest to get some fruits from there, however there's a decent chance of running into wild boars in the forest. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing considering I could cut it up and eat it." I thought.

"My flashback memories tell me my strength has far outstripped the strength of the wild animals present on the outskirts of the forest but I've never actually fought a damn boar the size of a small car before and I'm pretty sure my guns didn't make the trip with me." I said as I considered my options.

"Well, there are some guns in the mansion as I recall but they're flintlock rifles and handguns" I thought as I remembered my "grandfather's" collection. "Eh, they'll do. Yeah, fuck walking, let's go fuck up some boars, not like they can kill me." I decided.

I put off the shower since I would just get dirty in the forest anyway, instead went to the study and made my way to the cabinet where the guns were kept. Looking over the selection I decided to take one rifle and one handgun that looked in decent condition. I grabbed a gunpowder flask, a bag of lead shot and a leather holster that had spots for a rifle at the back and a pistol at the hip and made my way outside the mansion.

I started to load the guns as one of the first lessons my trainer ever taught me was 'Never trust a gun you haven't test fired yourself.' Loading the guns with gunpowder and then with the tiny lead balls, I aimed the handgun at a tree trunk from about fifteen feet away and pulled the trigger.

The pistol was louder than I was expecting but it fired off just fine and hit the trunk but it seems the barrel is not zeroed properly as the bullet hit almost three inches left to where I was aiming. "Three inches skew at fifteen feet, this thing is crap, but it will have to do for now. I am so building a revolver once I have this devil fruit ability down. I don't even need any fancy technological knowledge for that. I already know how a revolver works since I've used and maintained plenty of them." I said looking at the pistol in my hand in disdain.

I decided to test the rifle at twice the pistol's range at thirty feet and aimed at the same tree and pulled the trigger, this one was even louder than the rifle but this time I was expecting it. I walked up to check and the bullet had hit pretty much dead center where I was aiming. "That was either my skill or good luck either way the rifle seems to be fine."

I started loading the guns again and as I looked at the tree with the bullet marks I considered out loud. "One test fire is probably a bad idea but I am really hungry, hungrier than I should be considering everything, is this a quirk of this world? I know people can eat unreal amounts of food in this world but this is nuts." I put the guns into the holsters and started making my way into the forest only to remember I have nothing to carry the food back in.

I sighed at my idiocy, turned around headed back inside and grabbed a couple of empty sacks and then finally made my way into the forest and to the part where I knew there were some wild fruit trees that I had picked and eaten before with no ill effects. As I made my way through the forest I kept an eye and an ear out for wild animals while keeping one hand on my hip at the pistol.

Once in a while I would hear a roar or a bleat of some wild animal coming from a distance but nothing close up. I finally reached the patch of the forest where the wild fruits were. I looked at the trees and spotted some pears and mango looking fruits hanging from trees, the mangos looked slightly bigger than I was used to and had a slight blue tint at the top, while the pears were just plain pink colored. If I had never seen a devil fruit with my own eyes I would have suspected these might be devil fruits but no, these things looked weird sure but that thing was just wrong. I walked up to the tree with the weird mango trees and started climbing it, I climbed the tree fairly easily (the combat boots helped) and plucked about eight of those that looked ripe enough, put them in the sack and jumped down. I then made my way to the tree with weird pink pears growing on it and climbed that one too and picked about ten of the pink pears and put nine of them in the sack and bit into one of them.

It did not taste anything like a pear if anything it tasted closer to an apple and it was juicy as hell, almost syrupy inside. I started to half eat and half slurp the pink pear which in all honesty tasted like a slightly pulpy apple juice as I made my way back to the mansion, hoping that these fruits would be enough to keep me from getting hungry for today.

I was halfway to the forests' end when I heard a snort come from up ahead and saw a boar the size of a vintage fiat 500 coming out of the forest from the left. 'The damn thing was fucking sneaky as hell, I didn't even hear it stomping up, though I might have been a bit too busy eating. Come to think of it, it probably smelled the pear and tracked me down.' I thought even as I reached my hand towards the pistol at my waist and as quick as I could I drew the gun aimed it at the boar's head and the went through the steps that had become second nature over the years as quick as I could.

'Front Sight' I aimed the front sight of my gun at the boar's head, then adjusted for the skew.

'Controlled Trigger Pull' I breathed in and pulled the trigger just as the boar was starting to charge me.

'Follow Through' I skipped this step since this was a flintlock and I was not going to be able to get a second shot off anyway. Instead I dropped the pistol and the sacks and started to pull the rifle out of its holster without paying any attention to the boar for now.

I pulled the rifle out and aimed it straight at where the boar was and finally looked at the result of my shot which had hit it above its front right leg rather than the head and it seemed it was the right move to pull the rifle out rather than gawking at the boar after I had shot it with the pistol, since it was trying to charge me again. I went through the steps again and shot it again, aiming for the head since center mass at this thing isn't gonna do much considering the low caliber lead balls.

As soon as I shot the boar I flipped the rifle around to grip it with the barrel and then I charged the boar, again ignoring the results of the shot and instead focusing on being ready for its counterattack. As I charged up to the boar I noticed that this time I had hit its head but it still wasn't dead yet, dazed and dying but not dead.

As soon as I got close enough to it, swung the butt of the rifle as hard as I could right into the bullet wound in its head while it was still dazed. The thing howled in agony and instinctively pulled back, I swung the rifle again instead of letting it recover and this time the board went down and stopped moving.

Instead of sighing in relief, I backed off and started loading the rifle as I walked over to where I had dropped the pistol and sacks. I knelt down and kept loading the rifle as I kept an eye at the boar and at the surroundings for any other predators. By the time I had loaded both the rifle and the pistol the boar still hadn't gotten back up and there were no signs of any other predators deciding to check out the gunshot noise. I picked up the sacks and made my way up to the boar and noticed it was still breathing.

I sighed put the pistol a couple of inches from its head and fired finally putting it out of its misery. This wasn't the best idea since if a predator did come I would be one pistol short but it wasn't worth it to be unnecessarily cruel and drag it all the way to the mansion and killing it there.

I set the loaded rifle leaning next to a tree and sat down next to it as I reloaded the pistol, still keeping an eye out. Then proceeded to put the guns back in the holsters, heft the fruit sack in my left hand and grabbed the boars back legs in the right hand and started dragging it back to the mansion with me.
