"Huh, that was an experience."
my final memories of being alive were being consumed by some sort of demon creature. My so-called friends abandoned me just to save their tails.
"I knew that house was hunted but nobody wanted to listen to me. Somehow I always get the short end of the stick."
Life sucks man
Congratulations you have been chosen to be reincarnated.
"Wtf!" I tried scooting away from the transparent blue screen until I realized I didn't have a body so I couldn't move.
"Wait reincarnation? Can I choose the conditions of mine?"
Asking administrator…………. Your request has been approved
"Neato! Alright then give me every single superpower in existence!!!"
Affima-Request denied. New restrictions were added to a request. Choose another.
Aw well, there goes my power fantasy. Let's try this.
For the next couple of hours, I kept getting my ideas for my cheat rejected over and over again.
"Ah fuck it just give me my Yugioh decks and call it a day," I said out of frustration.
Waiting for approval…….. Confirmed have a nice second chance.
There was a light that began consuming the void getting closer to our hero.
"Wait I don't get to choose what world I get sent to!!! This is a freaking scam!!" Soon I was overwhelmed by the light.
Next, When I opened my eyes I was greeted with an unfamiliar ceiling.
"So it was a dream huh." Getting up I realized I was teleported to a traditional Japanese temple.
"You don't look like an assassin." Turning towards the voice I was met with the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.
"Seems like this was a failure. Servent, tell me your true name."
Before I could even resist. Words began to flow out of my mouth "Desmond Witcher."
"Doesn't sound like a hero from the Throne. Oh well, you can at least be a meat shield for us. By the power of my command seal, I order you to guard this temple's gate and to not leave no matter what."
Do you wish to respond?
Time slowed to a crawl as the Text appeared on the blue screen.
Huh, so I'm working on master duel logic here. If an effect is activated depending on if I set a trap or a quickplay spell or effect monster earlier then I can interrupt my opponent. if I have the right card or effect then I can counter them. But that brings the question. What card is causing this chain?
Looking around I finally noticed a glow coming out of my pocket. Taking the object out revealed it to be a duel disk in compact form.
"Yeah no, can I just do this digitally like in the game?"
Request pending………………… The request has been approved.
The duel disk disappeared and was replaced by a blue transparent screen in the format of a typical Yugioh duel.
"Now this is more like it!!" Putting his hands at the bottom of the screen he drew his starting hand. "Now it's time to duel!!"
Looking at my starting hand I realized what card was starting a chain.
"Byssted druidwurm? But why would he..OH of course."
Now that I think about it do I even want to fight this person? If she is who I think she is then I might be in over my head.
I looked at her glowing command seal frozen in time. "I could always break out once I get better control over my abilities."
Reluctantly I put my cards back into the screen and dismissed the response window letting the command wash over me.
"Hmph, now shoo I have work to do." Following her command, I walked towards the gate of the temple and sat down on its steps.
As soon as I sat down info began to fill my head. I was in the 5th holy grail war and I was summoned as an outsider class servant. My abilities revolved around the cards in my Yugioh decks. Thankfully whoever sent me here had the decency to give me most of my decks.
If I only had my experimental decks I would be a goner.
I love to deck build and was quite good at it but sometimes I go a little too far and end up making a terrible deck with no synergy at all.
I'm thinking about my old red-eyes blue-eyes combination deck.
If you thought blue eyes were a bricky deck then adding red eyes monsters made it borderline unplayable.
The decks I currently have are starry knights, byssted, Aesir, and adamacipators. Unfortunately, they didn't give me my dino deck. Which was unfortunately my best deck.
"I can still make this work. Hey, system do you guys have a test room I can use?"
No, non can see your monsters unless you're in combat or will them to. A test mode would be unnecessary.
Huh neat
"Time to go over some combos!"
Later
"Ok I think I get how this works now"
My powers allow me to summon duel monsters to fight for me. The only restriction is that I can only summon 6 at a time. I can normally summon a monster under level 5 without tributing but only once per turn, unless its effect or a card on the field says otherwise.
"So just like in the real game."
That brings us to the next point on my powers. They only work within a certain range. My monsters can leave the range but if I go outside of it my field and deck reset.
"Could be a useful exploit."
Turns have been converted to a 3-minute interval. After each 'turn' passes I can draw a card. Cheating results in my entire hand being banished face down.
"Glad I tried that out in a safe environment. If that happened on the field I would be screwed."
Spells have been converted into their closest real-world equivalent. For example, starry knight balefire (the searcher in my deck) usual description is
Add 1 "Starry Knight" monster, or 1 Level 7 LIGHT Dragon monster, from your Deck to your hand, then, if you control no monsters and your opponent controls a DARK monster, you can Special Summon 1 Level 7 LIGHT Dragon monster from your hand. You can only activate 1 "Starry Knight Balefire" per turn.
But my power translates that into this
Add 1 "Starry Knight" monster, or 1 Level 7 LIGHT Dragon monster, from your Deck to your hand, then, if you control no monsters and your opponent controls a Dark Spirit or Creature, you can Special Summon 1 Level 7 LIGHT Dragon monster from your hand. You can only activate 1 "Starry Knight Balefire" per turn.
My cards don't rely on monsters anymore. Which is a big boon. This means I can cheese out servants in the right situation.
"And I have just the situation to try it out." I turned towards the lower part of the stairs and spotted a little albino girl.
"Isn't it too late for little girls to be out?"
"I could ask you the same but we both know why I'm here servant-san. Berserker kills him!!"
Duel initiated!
"Heh, I can't let you through little Missy. My master would probably kill me if I did!" As soon as Heracles Axe sword almost decapitated me it was deflected blowing the giant back in the process.
"Ha, you activated my trap card Negate Attack! And since you so foolishly attacked me without clearing the field it is now my turn." dramatically drew a card "Draw! Heh looks like this is the end! I normal summon Starry knight Astel. I activate my field spell starry night sky!" The night sky grew to have a green aura and stars started to twinkle. "I activate it's effect allowing me to normal summon another starry knight's monster. I choose you starry knight Rayel. My monsters effect activates allowing me to search for a starry knight spell or trap from my deck. I choose starry knight ceremony." I activate the spell but don't use its searching effect.
"Now-" before I could get another word in the world paused with all I could see being Heracles axe sword mere inches away from my face.
Activate effect?
Thank God I got this ability.
I looked toward the card that started this chain and smiled.
I wanted to XYZ summon but I can work with this too.
"Yes, using starry knight Astel's quick effect. It tributes itself allowing me to special summon an lv 7 light dragon monster from my hand.."
Time resumed with berzerker being blasted away again by my raising power. Spreading my arms wide I stared into the beautiful starry night sky.
"With your beautiful radiance shine your might down onto my enemy's. Come forth Starry night, Starry dragon!"
Seemingly coming out of the night sky itself my favorite nonextra deck boss monster was born.
"D-Dragon!!?"
"I'll give you a chance to retreat but I'm not feeling so merciful at the moment." I pointed towards Illiyasveil and smiled. "Starry night Blast!"
Their world exploded with pain.
