I am Groot, I am Groot." Branchie said, as she was on Casey's bed wanting to start the day.
"Branchie, not now….." Casey replied sleepily flicking her away with her fuzzy tail.
It was just a typical mid-August morning in New York so while Branchie had been asleep in her flowerpot, Casey had been out all night patrolling as Raccoon Girl so she was tired, then besides Branchie trying to wake her, the alarm on her phone had awoken her just as Rocket walked ijto her room, noticing her messy hair, bed-fur and messy tail-fur knowing what she'd been doijg knowing that he needed to be delicate with her like this, Gamora said girl-cubs matured faster than male ones but Casey was also an emotional-liabilty just like her best friend, Crystal.
Emotional liabitys were Terrans or life-forms whom had extreme-emotions which they couldn't control all the time so with Casey, her extreme emotions seeped ijto her powers which was scary sometimes however he was trying to help her like her teachers at Avengers Campus knowing whatmight brijg back her peachy self which he prefrred to this grumpy, tired Casey who was tucking herself back under the blanket so only her fuzzy raccoon-tail poled out and this mood sometimes scared him.
"Come on Branchie, let's go make my famous Groot Morning pancakes." he told the female-Groot toddler leavijg the room that she and Casey slept in on Rocket's furry shoulder, going downstairs into the kitchen as Rocket grabbed eggs, milk and flour to make the pancake-mix, grateful Gamora had went to the grocery-store the other day, wearing his glasses pouring the mix into the griddle which made Branchie excited, she koved flipping when they made pancakes using her Groot vines like her dad, Groot had taught her impressing Rocket at how golden-brown she'd gotten them.
"This'll help our Raccoon Girl, even Gammy loves these, when I make them on the Milano." he said while slicing up fruit to go with the food pouring milk into glasses for Branchie and Casey, unawsre the scent was wafting from there, travelling upstairs to Casey's bedroom door which was open to her nose knowing that scent, that glorious scent.
"Groot morning pancakes." Casey exclaimed sitting up in bed.
She then left her room, hovering above the stairway that led down, deciding to fly downstairs, despite that being against the house-rules it was worth it, flying downstairs, into the kitchen, landing in her seat at the table impressing Branchie only she noticed the frown on Rocket's furty-face looking at her through his glasses which were sliding a little down his nose.
"Casey Tessula Raccoon, what did we say, about that." he asked.
"Oopsie, no flying in the house, or in front of Terrans." she recited.
She was loving the pancakes, only a little annoyed by the rules regarding her powers when it was alright for Emily to use her Spidey-powers in the house or Shocket her super-soldier powers, then again her sisters didn't have supernova meltdowns like she did relieved hearing her dad tell her, he'd let it slide since Emily and Shocket were at day-camp, too late to enrol Casey in the AvengerscSummer program or find her an art-camp, because she was passionate about art and her super-powers.
She was also going ijto fourth-grade at Avengers Campus which she was anxious about including when her sisters and Gamora talked about the new school-year and tomorrow, he and Gamora would be taking her to get her school stuff.
"Maybe after breakfast, you should sleep some more, you know." Rocket said seeing her nod, so after putting her dishes in the sink, Casey sluggishly went back upstairs with her furry tail dragging behind her going back ijto her room closing the door softly getting back onto the bed, wrapping the blankets around her so only her tail was revealed, listening to her favourite podcast and about to zone out, until she got a Whatsapp message from Yoko Nirohita, her best tenuki pal from Japan 1610 who happened to be the eldest-cub of Rocke the frontman of the superheroic band, Guardians of the World but she was also Tenuki Girl wanting to hang out, nap and just be cubs making Casey excitedly reply.
"Hey Casey, what's up Raccoon Girl, you look like you had a rough night, welcome to my world as it was the same in Tokyo." Yoko said yawning lying on the bed beside Casey just talking until they zoned out ijto sleep unaware Rocket had checked on them happy that Yoko was helping Casey out with her not so great summer.
"So, how did camp go for you and Shockie." Gamora heard Rocket ask at dinner, which Casey was mentally tuned out thinkijg about some of the things she and Yoko had did in Japan after they'd woken up like getting mochi plus Rocke letting Casey unleash her powers through music as his mansion was power-proofed so Yoko could use her powers in the house and he encouraged Yoko.
"Shockie, you sent some of the other kickball team to the hospital, as your conselor called daddy." Gamora was saying to Shocket as she was tuning-back ijto her family's dinner talk wondering what her birth-mom, Pupia and her sister, Kora who was cloned from her doing right now in the galaxy as the meatballs they were having looked like planets in her mind unaware Shocket was watching giving their dad a confused look.
"I know, she's been spaced out all day, she might need an early night." he whispered to her making Gamora and Emily get it as Casey looked a little exhausted plus eating messily which Emily and Shocket thought cute of their cousin seeing her give them an annoyed look like Rocket when he was frazzled cleaning up but going upstairs tomher room seeijg Branchie hug her furry shoulder, knowing she'd had one of those days seeing her grab her phone, activating the police-scanner app in case Raccoon Girl was needed, seeing Branchie frown.
"I am Groot." she told her seeing Casey take a deep-breath.
"I know I have to rest, but-" she said gettijg a Whatsapp message frim Pupia her mom, telling her what she and Kora were up to making a grin cross her furry lil face replying making yawns escape her mouth knowijg Chryaslis and Princess Frost were waiting for Raccoon Girl to show up to begin patrol but, she was exhausted deciding maybe it would be okay to skip patrol tonight texting her team-mates knowing they'd get it yawning hearing Branchie beckon her into the softness of her bed seeing her cuddlijg her stuffed-tenuki which she named Bento zoning-out into sleep as Gamora walked in, turning on the nightlight or the LED one that looked like a red-panda to do with Casey's new favourite Pixar movie heading ti her and Rocket's room hearing him asking from the en-suite bathroom if everything was alright.
"Uh-huh, Casey's out like a light in her room, Emmy's reading in her room, and Shockie probably went, to hang out with Linda and tomorrow with Casey should be fun." Gamora said to him as he was getting into bed beside her taking off his glasses putting them on the bedside table kissing her before they fell asleep, however the next morning Casey was surprised seeing Branchie shy around Gaia and Petal who were Emily and Shocket's Groot-saplings that were like Brabchie's sisters.
"Hmmm, why do you think, Branchie's shy around them, if they're her sisters." Rocket asked her, while she was eating cereal seeing the many-powered female-cub tapping her furry chin, thinking.
"Because she's shy arouhd other Groots like me being shy around other kids." Casey told him.
"Mayge you should help her, it might also help you as you're going into fourth-grade with lots of new cubs." he told her seeing an anxious expression on her furry face until she started humming Noboy Like U which was calming her just as Gamora entered the kitchen dressed, happy that Casey was up but dressed confusing the female-cub happy they were doing something together while Emily and Shocket were at day-camp.
