This is the list of characters who appeared in my story, HV-S03: Self-Incarnation, in alphabetical order. Do check out the story first, because the list below contained unmarked spoilers. Some characters will have the same entry as my previous story.
A
Akechi "Jūbei" Mitsuhide
Title: Azure Tortoise
Predicted Class: Saber, Caster
Gender: Female
Height: 157 cm
Weight: 53 kg
Alignment: Neutral Good
Strength: C
Endurance: A
Agility: A
Mana: B+
Luck: B
Noble Phantasm: A++
Class/Personal Skills:
Double Summon: B
Jūbei simultaneously possessed Class Skills from both Saber and Caster Classes, though her efficacy varied according to how much magic energy her Master could reliably supply when she's wielding them. A rare Personal Skill.
Eye of the Mind (False): A
The natural talent to foresee/sense and avoid danger on the basis of an innate 6th sense, intuition, or prescience. The accuracy of this instinct can be augmented by experience. The ability also grants an effect of offering resistance against penalties caused by visual obstructions. It represents a natural instinct that cannot be obtained regardless of effort or experience. She's able to see through the weapon and style of his opponent after crossing blades only a few times.
Kamisha Shinto-Ryū: EX
A true master of the style. This rank indicated she's achieved the same mastery and understanding as its founder, irrespective of their personal interpretations and quirks. A style focused on direct attacks so swift and natural one's enemies wouldn't even realize they had been cut; Jūbei supplemented the advanced skills she'd already mastered with her senpai's teachings, creating an original branch unique to her and her descendants – one with intricate, flowing defensive-into countering movesets.
Magecraft: B+
A master of the Shinto-Taosim school of Thaumaturgy, Jūbei was also an expert in esoteric Buddhism, Onmyōdō, Shugendo, and some Chinese Magecraft later in her life. Her speciality was producing talismans using Projection to various effect and strength, though she's also proficient at self- and weapon-enchanting. This step removed the chanting process completely, though necessitating she prepared the magic formulas beforehand.
Magic Resistance: A
A rare Saber who's just as skilled in Magecraft… or a rare Caster whose inherent physique was resistant to spells. An expert in both martial arts and Thaumaturgy, Jūbei's understanding of both granted her innate nullification of spells A-Ranked or below. A 'Magus Killer' almost in its truest sense, as she was responsible for the Oda Shogunate's Thaumaturgical security and anti-terrorism efforts.
Possession Inheritance (Divinity): A
Usually a skill attributed to Demi-Servants, her talent to use Living Weapon meant she was able to channel the abilities of her Guardian Spirit, Genbu, to a much higher efficiency to the point of almost merging into one being, despite not trained in the ways of a priestess or a god-channeler. While this skill's rank should allow her to derive Genbu's wisdom, the Black Tortoise's cryptic way of speaking annoyed her.
Mana Burst (Water): A+
The combined skill resulting in her own Element synchronizing with Genbu's own higher Authority. Different than the pure version or [Flame], which utilized one's own Od to enact Mystery upon the world, [Water] granted control over the natural occurrence instead. What magic energy required was solely the amount to do so with the desired precision, far more efficient than generating the element itself – though Jūbei was perfectly capable of doing so as well.
Riding: B-
While a famed general, Jūbei's personal style was unsuited to large-scale plains cavalry battle. Despite being an expert horsewoman, she was unable to achieve the 'unity of rider and horse' because her techniques clashed with any mount's natural movements. In a way, her movement were too in tune with the natural flow of the elements the horses simply weren't capable of realizing her own intentions. However, her marksmanship was another matter – she's an expert in gunmanship and archery on horseback. Most vehicles and animals can be handled with above average skill, even vehicles that did not exist in the time period one was alive in, except for Phantasmal Species.
Noble Phantasms:
Xuánwǔ: Black Tortoise of the North
Rank: EX
Type: Divine, Support
Range: 1
Max. Targets: 1
Mitsuhide's Guardian Spirit and Living Weapon, known as Genbu in local Nihon dialects. A cross between a turtle and a serpent, Genbu has been worshipped since ancient times as guardian of the [North] and the symbol of [Water]. The dual nature of its intertwined snake and turtle bodies have also made it a symbol of [Yin] and [Yang], and indeed, its ties to Onmyōdō are deep.
As was often the case with Living Weapons, one's proficiency was dependent on talent, hard work, and perseverance – in this case, Jūbei had attained the highest rank available late in life. Being a Divine Spirit, it's difficult for itself to manifest fully without a properly-trained vessel, but Jūbei was able to harness the Authority of [Water] regardless of her background due to the level of training she put herself through.
Kikkō Muramasa: Chelonian Six Star
Rank: A
Type: Anti-Unit, Anti-Army
Range: 3~50
Max. Targets: 35
Jūbei's personal uchigatana, forged from a bone shard of the World Turtle. Slightly taller and straighter than the average katana with an unusual dropping clip point, its hamon and fuller flowed resembling the shape of the rocking ocean waves with a hexagonal turtle-shell guard. It had a non-traditional skull-crusher pommel, sharply shaped into a snake's snout. Appropriately, it had a water serpent scale handle (from the Akechi Clan's inheritance connected to one of Minamoto-no-Yoritomo's wife) and wrapped in various snake skins, including the ito.
Imbued with the blessing of Otohime, the Sea Princess, it's a perfect catalyst to channel Genbu's Authority, making up for Jūbei's relative lack of talent in channelling spirits. Its inherent power was forming an incompressible sharp water torrent alongside its edge, elongating and enhancing its cutting power, slashing more akin to a high-frequency saw or water jet drill than an elegant serpentine form. It could change any liquid's state of matter rapidly, as well as a high resistance to [Fire] and its associated derived Elements.
Character Description
The heir and Princess General to the Akechi Clan in Mino Province. Confident, condescending, and demanding, she had a great difficulty in understanding those whose skills weren't up to her standards. This perfectionist attitude was backed up by her talent, seemingly capable of mastering anything and everything easily with minimal effort, but made her difficult to befriend and associate. She only respected those who had attributes she didn't – Nobunaga's 'Tenka Fubu', Muramasa's swordsmanship and blacksmithing, etc.
A genius in every literal sense, she's incredibly passionate towards things she found interesting and worthy to understand. She loved her senpai and lord greatly, and became part of the Oda Shogunate harem upon Nihon's unification. She's sensitive about her wider-than-normal forehead, but was also easily buoyed by those who'd praise that part of her body. Honest, outgoing, and blunt, her change in emotions was like a whirlwind, making her suitable for solo negotiations and combat for her ability to sway the atmosphere.
Her Element was [Water], and Origin [Reversal]. Whether the latter had changed when compared to her male counterpart was unknown – it symbolized her ability to change and improve herself once she acknowledged it was needed, and not necessarily how she defied her murderous fate against her lord. Her combat style focused on maximizing her talents in all field – martial arts, Thaumaturgy, psychology, etc – making her hard to plan and react against.
F
Fūma Kōtarō
Title: Red Wind
Predicted Class: Assassin, Berserker
Gender: Male
Height: 160 cm (250 cm w/o tail)
Weight: 52 kg (190 kg)
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Strength: C+
Endurance: B
Agility: A
Mana: C (A)
Luck: C
Noble Phantasm: EX
Class/Personal Skills:
Presence Concealment: B+
Unusually low for a patriarch of a ninja clan, but actually Fūma Kōtarō's original profession was a mercenary. He's exceptionally good in subterfuge activities in Mongolia, but by the standards of the modern-day, his techniques and talent were right around average. Hides one's presence as a Servant and suitable for spying. The rank of Presence Concealment dropped considerably when preparing to attack.
Subversive Activities: B+ (C+)
An expert practitioner of traps, honed from years of warfare on grassy plains and various urban areas. He's most familiar with basic and natural materials from centuries ago, and while modern-day concepts were similar, his uneasiness when presented with new materials lowered this Skill's rank. The ability to reduce enemy's war potential in the preliminary stage before going to battle.
Ninjutsu: EX
An absolute master of a variety of basic ninjutsu, befitting the establishing master of a school of shinobi techniques. Having spent most of his life experimenting on methods of killing people, the secret intelligence techniques, combat techniques, larceny techniques, torture techniques, etc. were all known to him. Owing to how Mystery translated from era to era, his strength in this department was undiminished.
Mad Enhancement: C
A remnant of his bloodline's Sorcery Trait and eventual Noble Phantasm, Ogre Trance. Rank-Up for all parameters, but most of one's reason is robbed. However, owing to a secret training method he devised himself, he was able to gain some semblance of control even under the effect of this Skill.
Yōkai Transformation (Fake): A
Having given up his right to his inhuman bloodline in exchange for reincarnation, this Skill was born out of his forced Apotheosis contract with his new Guardian Spirit and original summoned creature, a kamaitachi. Fusing his body, originally incompatible with another yōkai because of his inhuman blood, increased all parameters except Luck, along with granting new affinity to [Wind]. It's a testament to his strength and talent he still managed to achieve what many thought as a suicidal process, as they all lost their mind, body, and eventually soul after the union.
Noble Phantasms:
Ogre Trance: Endless Rakshasa Transfiguration
Rank: EX (unavailable)
Type: Anti-Army, Support
Range: 1
Max. Targets: 1
As the Great Ancestor of the Fūma Clan's oni bloodline, he had the purest and wildest affinity to its techniques. All parameters improved to the extremes, and his stamina recovered speedily. His descendants would have a portion of their being breaking down due to overwhelming their brains beyond their limits, severe damage done to his internal organs and lifespan, and so forth. Of course, being more oni than human, he had no problem with this negative aspect of the technique.
Because of his new body, this Noble Phantasm was sealed, lacking his blood as the proper catalyst to execute it.
Character Description
Originally an oni who attained enlightenment and mastered Humanoid Compression, Fūma Kōtarō travelled his homeland and foreign nations as mercenary, trading his strength with money and worldly pleasures. Possessing the red hair similar to Central Asian prized war studs, his appearance in various battlefield and cities marked destruction and chaos. With death tolls climbing unchecked, both authorities and the underworld finally drove him away to the eastern shores of the continent, before he escaped across the sea to Nihon.
Having lived comfortably until then due to secretly being under the servitude of the great ruler of the Asian plains, he forged a path on his own with all his wits and skills, going on chaotic and thrilling adventures where he met allies and enemies alike. Treading the tense political situation of the Heian Era, facing the rise of the Minamoto Clan, forging a partnership with the magus Kashin Koji at the end of that period, and so on. Securing the backing of the Hōjō Clan, one of Nihon's largest remaining nobilities, allowed him to establish a new identity and family, settling down in Nihon from then on until his death.
Amids the chaos of the Sengoku Era, he was inadvertently and prematurely reincarnated through a backup summoning system set up by his friend Kashin Koji through the latter's memories of their relationship as the catalyst. Having no biological material to work from, Fūma Kōtarō was stuffed into a standard, high-quality homunculus body located in a secret compound.
G
Gasha-Dokuro
Oda Nobunaga's Guardian Spirit. A unique one, being a Spirit with the [Man] Attribute so strong it actually thirsted for it. While it usually denotes people who completed great deeds as normal humans, Gasha-Dokuro represents these 'normal humans' who collectively symbolizes a 'great deed' – i.e. mass slaughter, chaotic war, lethal famine and plague, etc. its Elements are [Fire], [Cycle], and [Purgatory], while its Origin is [Vengeance] and [Unity]. It's easily influenced by internal and external factors, depending on the host's and its surroundings' emotions.
Manifesting as a giant flaming skeleton – its true size depends solely on its host's strength – it's special in a manner it actually assists the host through external means, instead of internal ones. Usually, a skilled host of a Guardian Spirit will channel the latter's power through their own body – thus, internal. Gasha-Dokuro forcibly summons itself into the world and forms a skeletal structure the host can control by expending magic energy – thus, external. In that way, the host needs only minimal training to maximize its potential, as it will conform to the user's will easily.
Genbu
Akechi Mitsuhide's Guardian Spirit. The Guardian of the North, taking the form of a snake-tailed sea turtle, with great command over the Authority [Winter]. Symbolizing longevity, it grants its host a passive healing power without much risk, though slower than other more active and forceful methods.
As a proper Divine Spirit, Mitsuhide generally isn't able to draw out all of his power, diluting it to match her own Element of [Water]. Still, she's an extremely compatible host relative to other humans, and she relies more on her creativity and genius to vary her usage of Genbu's ability.
If used to his fullest, his host will be granted the Origins [Dipper], [Ox], [Girl], [Emptiness], [Rooftop], [Encampment], and [Wall] – in accordance to the Seven Mansions of the Black Tortoise. How much can they use and understand depends completely on the host.
Go-Himiko-Ōhirume-no-Mikoto
Title: Empress of Empresses
Predicted Class: Ruler, Caster, Beast
Gender: Female
Height: 153 cm
Weight: 47 kg
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Strength: E
Endurance: E
Agility: E
Mana: EX
Luck: EX
Class/Personal Skills:
Authority of the Beast: A
The signature Anti-Humanity Skill of Himiko's Guardian Spirit, it granted control over anything deriving their existence from the sun itself – i.e. everything bar the chemosynthetic creatures at the bottom of the ocean and outer space. Because Himiko herself didn't have the physique to fully manifest her Guardian Spirit, she compressed and modified this ability into something which could manipulate [Light] and [Fire] as she pleased. Rank-Up on all parameters against humans. This is separate from her [Nega-Weapon] Skill.
Charisma: B+
A composite Skill consisting of a person's charm as well as the natural talent to command or unify an army or country. Increases the ability of allies during group battles. A rare talent. At this Rank, Himiko was more than sufficient to lead Nihon as its undisputed Empress. The morale of military forces she commanded was extremely high, while also allowing her to negate the [Emergency Prerogative] Skill of her enemies. While her level of popularity was approaching the greatest as a human being internally, her lack of international diplomatic experience meant she hadn't been able to improve it.
Divinity: B
Less of possessing thick divine blood and more of compatibility, Himiko had exceeding match with her distant Great Ancestor, Amaterasu, to the point of possessing one of her avatars as her Guardian Spirit and essentially making her a demigoddess as well. Reduces [Purge Defence]; grants positive bonus against [Protection of the Faith] and [Enlightenment of the Sacred Fig].
God's Resolution: B (B+)
A Class Skill and privilege of the Ruler Class as the one presiding over the Holy Grail War: the right to use Command Spells against Servants. Each Ruler was normally granted two Command Spells for each Servant that participates in the Holy Grail War. When combined with her [Charisma], it's possible to negotiate a binding geas as strong as a Command Spell with favourable Servants.
True Name Discernment: B (A)
A Class Skill of the Ruler Class where status information such as one's identity, Skills and Parameters are automatically revealed to the owner of this Skill when directly encountering a Servant. Combined with her [Divinity], it's possible to completely bypass the Luck Check for specialized Servants with concealment abilities.
Territory Creation: A
Creation of a 'Temple', which is superior to a 'Workshop', becomes possible. However, typically, she preferred to set a weaker but nationwide Bounded Field to facilitate weaker, esoteric abilities rather than focus on specific Caster Class Skills. When in Nihon or East Asian territories (such as the future areas of Yamatai), this Skill will receive a Rank-Up.
Apotheosis: A+
Transmuting one's natural physique into a divine one, utilizing the Saint Graphs of both human and Divine Spirit. Himiko lacked the body to properly perform this Skill together with her Guardian Spirit, Tamamo-no-Mae, and the latter's true self, Amaterasu, to completion, limiting this Skill's rank. This was also due to the goddess being too high a rank for someone – even as beloved a subject as Himiko – to subsume. Carries a high risk of self-destruction after use, since it's below EX-rank.
Noble Phantasms:
Opulence of Eclipse: Universal Mythological Mystic Code
Rank: B (EX)
Type: Anti-Unit; Anti-Army
Range: 2~50
Max. Targets: 100
The manifestation of multi-solar calamity spoke of in legends; in this case, the 9 suns scorching the Earth owing to TYPE-SUN's cyclical nature. While recorded with great variety in several cultures and empires, the its origin, the embodiment of the [Sun], was one and the same. In this case, Himiko channelled Amaterasu's divine presence and passive debuff ability of just being in her vicinity, creating a Marble Phantasm around a set area of her choosing.
Its other half represented the mythical erasure of the sun by the moon, such as the legends of the former being eaten by a wolf. Born from the dark regrets of Amaterasu after losing to Velber, this side was specifically an Anti-Velber defence mechanism, though in reality it was a weapon crafted solely to kill Amaterasu herself in an ironic, hypocritical suicidal wish. Combining the two forms as yin-yang, the pair mimicked the Conceptual Weight of the foretold 'Big Crunch' – a Marble Phantasm destined to kill its own wielder.
The Bounded Field drew its strength from its simplicity: an absolutely dry, yet dark desert where 9 eclipses hanging overhead in close proximity, cleansing everything inside. This arrangement also came from the need to preserve Himiko's body, since regardless of her overwhelming talent and compatibility, Amaterasu's full power was too great for her to properly channel without restrictions. Of course, a suicidal attack would greatly increase this Noble Phantasm's power.
Weighted Stone of Tamamo: Eightfold Blessing of Amaterasu
Rank: A (EX)
Type: Anti-Army (Anti-World)
Range: 30~100 (∞)
Max. Targets: 300 (∞)
One of Nihon's Three Sacred Treasures, taking the form of an ornate mirror decorated by gold and azure accents. Its eight round side extensions and two top-bottom trapezoidal 'handles' could be covered with magical energy to form fine, sharp edges in close- and medium-ranged combat. Its mirror was primarily used for scrying in its standby form, aside from actual self-grooming fit for an empress.
Of course, its main purpose was as a catalyst in a complex ritual. Summoning several circular levels of levitating ofuda and torī, creating an impromptu yet undeniably still-perfect Temple, enabling Himiko to execute High Thaumaturgy with [High-Speed Divine Words] and with infinite magic energy supply. This Noble Phantasm had a connection with the Third Magic, able to bring the deceased completely back to life, but Himiko would be required to unleash its full power and risk herself.
Originally, it was an EX-ranked Anti-World Noble Phantasm that has the range of covering a single country. In the first place, this Noble Phantasm was for nation building. A god's Authority which harvested the reconstruction of the ruined dominions due to an army of destruction, converting the power of all creation into an attack through using magical energy.
Heritage Beast: Hypernova Nine Drive
Rank: EX
Type: Anti-World
Range: EX
Max. Targets: ∞
The 'responsibility' placed upon world leaders of Himiko's level and class, where they alone decide the continuation of existence in one particular solar system. Pure, absolute, invincible destructive power holding the fighting spirit of all historical civilization to resist enslavement and genocide by outside interference, such as Interstellar Motherships or Umbral Stars. The ultimate resistance culminating in mass suicide simply to destroy humanity's attackers along with them, concentrated in an area around Himiko which would erase her existence from the Akashic Records.
A forbidden Noble Phantasm etched into the Minamoto Clan's Magic Crest, but accompanied with a Sorcery Trait which would override any system rejection whenever necessary. Its peak strength was unknown, and neither was its creator or what inspired its design.
Character Description
The latest generation of Minamoto Clans' choice as the de jure leader of Nihon, having wrestled control over the Royal Family shortly after the Heian Period. Noted for her immense magical energy and control since a very young age, her predecessors spied an opportunity to insert her in the true place of power she belonged regardless of her will, and thus had to deal with a monarch's troubles before her teens. Her identical twin sister, her backup typical of most royal families, was sent away to study with the Kōga, and now held a position within Nihon's Royal Navy.
Himiko essentially made herself irreplaceable, owing to her Guardian Spirit's decision not to approve of Kazumasu – the twin sister – as a replacement should the Empress fell. Regardless of their identical appearance, nothing much was similar between them – their likes, dislikes, hobbies, temperaments, and so on – affecting their familial bond and leaving them more akin to identical strangers instead of sisters. In contrast, she's much closer to her older cousins Muramasa and Tatsumi, while Kazumasu busied herself with her troops and considered Nobunaga more of a sister than Himiko.
Cold, expressionless, and often curt to outsiders – even at times to her own family members – this personality was cultivated from her inborn telepathic ability. Frequently going out of control when she was young, leading her to witness the depths of others' depravities in their hearts, Himiko had long learnt how to distance herself from the world she viewed as 'impure', fuelling her ambition to have not only Nihon, but also the entire world – as far as her figurative arms could control – to be a better place, lived in by better people. As a result, she's instinctively closer to those whose hearts and minds she found difficult to read, or those shining bright enough she couldn't help but be fascinated by.
K
Kaede
Title: ―
Predicted Class: Assassin
Gender: Female
Height: 160 cm
Weight: 44 kg
Alignment: True Neutral
Strength: E
Endurance: E
Agility: D
Mana: D
Luck: D
Noble Phantasm: ―
Class/Personal Skills:
Presence Concealment: A
As the first and finest jōnin from the obscure Mochizuki Clan, she embodied the [Assassin] Class incredibly well, to the point of not having any records noted down of her exploits… or even her real identity, which she had cast away and reforged too many times to care. The epitome of anonymity during her missions, where she was known only as 'The Woman' owing to her escapades with various influential older men. Suitable for spying, Kaede minimized this skill's rank drop-off by disguising her killing intent with sultry gestures.
Noble Phantasms: ― (None recorded)
Character Description
An orphan picked up by Nobunaga from the slums caused by the civil war wrecking the country after the Ōnin War.
"Stand up for yourself. I won't step down from my horse for people who've given up."
Her first true memory as 'Kaede' was rushing up to chase Nobunaga's procession on a horse, dodging her personal guards to stand before her and pledging herself out of desperation to survive. Her unrelenting gaze back then when she's barely out of toddlerhood was said to be the reason Nobunaga fancied her so – as someone who dared to defy the bad 'fate' and 'destiny' preordained onto them.
She was directly taken care of by Chiyome, who had just recently married into the Oda Clan through her husband's 'artisan' services. While her kunoichi training discouraged anyone to consider Chiyome a 'mother' – partly because she's sick of people fawning over her – Kaede truly thought such in her heart. As the oldest and best from the new 'Mochizuki Clan' of shinobi, she was often tasked with high-ranking missions, such as personally guarding Nobunaga from the shadows etc.
Beautiful by the era's standards, she had a habit of concealing it unless absolutely necessary – inherited from seeing her 'mother' tried her best to cover up her own body. At first, she viewed sleeping with old merchants and 'influencers' as nothing more than a job; however, she derived a secret pleasure from seeing their shocked faces when she buried her blade in their heads…
Despite suiting the [Assassin] Class well, her lack of Thaumaturgical talent in an era rich with Mystery was noteworthy. A weak Servant if summoned in every sense of the word.
Katō Danzō
Title: Blood Kite
Predicted Class: Assassin
Gender: Female
Height: 165 cm
Weight: 45 kg
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Strength: B
Endurance: A
Agility: A+
Mana: B
Luck: B
Noble Phantasm: B
Class/Personal Skills:
Presence Concealment: A+
Hides one's presence as a Servant. Suitable for spying. It is possible to disappear completely and become almost impossible to be detected, even against a Servant's perception. However, efficiency will decrease once preparations to attack are taken. This skill stems from her weak presence as a living individual, having spent the majority of her life as an inorganic being.
Synthetic Existence: EX
Danzō's entire body is made of magical nanoparticles, extracted from Nihon's abundant magic stone mines into near-invisible powder. She can thus reform and disassemble her entire body depending on the situation, and so long as her soul isn't damaged, infinite regeneration is possible, though at time necessitating new materials to be added. Equivalent to A-Ranked [Shapeshift] skill.
Ninjutsu: EX
The general term of the techniques taught to and mastered by Nihon intelligence operatives. Danzō is a master of the Fūma-ryū, and her level of skill is enough to match her first co-creator, the Fūma-shodaime… if not slightly above his. Uniquely, she spent very little time serving under that school – or that's the sole extent she remembered. This rank is higher than it should've been due to her improved body.
Doll's Illusionary Arts: A
Other than physical fighting, she specialized in genjutsu – the so-called 'illusionary arts' of the shinobi. It's different from purely conjuring a vision through Thaumaturgy – this skill is all about overlaying both reality and fantasy together to create an unbreakable and flawless lie. Thus, the cost to achieve 'alteration of reality' was less, but necessitating more actual preparation beforehand.
Noble Phantasms:
Mechanical Illusionary Art – Prismatic Prison
Rank: A
Type: Anti-Demon, Anti-Beast
Range: 1~20
Max. Targets: 50
A Mystic Code utilizing her entire body as its frame. Originally, she was only equipped with offensive Mystic Codes in her limbs, but with the acquirement of her new body, all related parties agreed it's a chance too good to pass by. In effect, Danzō was a living, breathing Magic Crest, installed with every single Thaumaturgical technique Chiyome and Shirō could source and decode.
An [Average One] Mystic Code, enabling her to utilize all Classical five elements. This was Danzō's favoured Noble Phantasm due to its extreme cost efficiency after receiving her new body. Through the magic nanoparticles, she could store the necessary Magic Crest for instant activation and generate the magic energy required near-instantaneously.
Black Arts Decapitation Method – Yin-Yang Manual
Rank: A+ (EX)
Type: Anti-Unit, Anti-Army
Range: 1~50
Max. Targets: 50
A series of assassination techniques Danzō compiled through her life and death. It centred around the most public, gruesome methods of killing to dissuade enemies, born among a culture which rewarded such methods to end bloody wars as soon as possible. Achieved through mastery of human and yōkai anatomy, and only able to be performed with an inhuman body to its fullest. Its original rank increased due to the skill Synthetic Existence.
A list of Fūma Clan's secret and ultimate techniques, made forbidden because how taxing they were to perform with normal human bodies and how much they interfered with the Outside World's natural laws and concepts. Named after floral elements, they each have different focus depending on the situation. Alphabetically, the currently known techniques were named Black Blossom, Blizzard Pitcher, Imperial Honeypot, Melting Amaryllis, Moonflower, Passionate Tulip, and Pure Violet.
Black Blossom reversed the entire [Existence]. Blizzard Pitcher embodied and absorbs [Affection]. Imperial Honeypot represented boundless [Yearning]. Melting Amaryllis was as fleeting as [Pleasure]. Moonflower internalized [Kindness]. Passionate Tulip deliberately clashed opposites of [Love] and [Hate]. Pure Violet restored [Purity]. Each and every one had different effects for the practitioner and their enemy, using vastly different Elements and additional Origins according to skill, talent, and preferences.
Due to Danzō's gentle nature, she had sealed this Noble Phantasm unless absolutely necessary. A Master who forced her to activate this through a Command Seal would find her affinity points dropping to the negative instantly.
Character Description
The other progenitor of Sengo-ryū kunoichi. Initially an artificial lifeform created by the dark sorcerer Kashin Koji and the Fūma-shodaime, her imperfect construction meant her first lifespan was limited. Decommissioned and discarded by the time of the Fūma-godaime, she was found and took in by a wandering couple, who 'fixed' and 'improved' her body – though in reality she was simply put into a new, better frame.
One of the legendary kunoichis, though different from Chiyome's speciality in infiltration or Magecraft. She was built for combat and assassination, often taking on tasks too dangerous or unsuitable for shinobi. Inherently, information operatives weren't trained for duels or direct combat, but Danzō was the exception – in exchange for relatively weaker advanced stealth skills. Of course, compared to ordinary kunoichi, she far outstripped them in all categories.
Her current body was a combination of homunculi's anatomically perfection and automata's inhuman flexibility, using magical nanoparticles bound together by her soul as a vessel. She could shapeshift freely into any form with equivalent density to the nanoparticles she maintained and stored, though she preferred her original form because her lord called her 'beautiful' when she appeared as such. Other than combat, this shapeshifting ability could also be used for entertainment purposes.
A quiet, gentle girl, lacking the ability to change or produce expressions quickly. She preferred to describe everything in as little amount of words as possible, though she's studying hard to break out of this habit. She favoured Masters who could make her 'feel human'.
Kīchi Mutsu
Title: Tengu-Ashura
Predicted Class: Saber, Archer, Lancer, Assassin, Caster, Berserker
Gender: Female
Height: 171 cm
Weight: 57 kg
Alignment: Neutral Good
Strength: A++
Endurance: A
Agility: A++
Mana: A
Luck: D
Class/Personal Skills:
Magic Resistance: D (EX)
Unusually low for a Knight Class, especially of a being as ancient and dense with Conceptual Weight as Kīchi, her focus on using martial arts – specifically, mortal ones – to combat magic users meant her own body lacked the inherent spiritron-disrupting Skill her more traditional peers would have. There were suggestions she deliberately lowered this Skill's rank in order to prolong fights, but no one's been able to either prove anything or force her to reveal the truth – including Yoshitsune.
Riding: B–
Originally, her family's arts were supposed to contain combat techniques performed in conjuction with a beast. However, Kīchi, in her obsession, was determined to figure out ways how to defeat those specific moves, limiting her rank in this Skill to something akin to, "…if I am forced to, then sure, I can do it…" type of riding. Still, it was enough to enable her to instantly understand most modern and traditional transportation systems to the point it didn't hamper her movements. "Besides, I'm the one with wings!"
Independent Action: A+
Having been such a… unique individual since childhood, she was incredibly difficult for a Master to control and restrain in regards to orders, tactics, or suggestions inherently opposed to what she preferred. Additionally, as a magus, she was able to subsist with… other means to gather magic energy to fuel her existence, regardless of any Master's input.
Item Construction: C
Unusually low for a magus, Kīchi focused her talents on applying Thaumaturgy to improve her own physique instead of chasing the Root the 'normal' way. She believed a perfect body, as close as possible to Akasha's first humanoid model, would enable her to approach without any obstacle. Still, it's not as if her family's knowledge and Sorcery Trait were forever lost; Kīchi, as the Mutsu Great Ancestor, simply chose to teach them in a different way to the next generation. Basic magical tool construction was possible.
Presence Concealment: A++
In modern times, the Mutsu Clan was famous for their barehanded assassination skills, which stemmed from their Great Ancestor's insistence on achieving a subliminal Kokyū Hohō, enough to essentially blend one's presence to the universe's background noise they're technically undetectable. Drops one rank when taking decisive offensive manoeuvre.
Mad Enhancement: C (B)
More of a showcase of Kīchi's general differing common sense than the absence of one. Originally, this Skill was higher-ranked, but her assimilation into human society following her clan's extermination lowered it somewhat. Rank-Up to all parameters except Mana and Luck.
Mutsu Enmei-ryū: EX
The Mutsu Clan's signature hand-to-hand combat technique… or that's how Kīchi taught and described it to others. With no one around to contest her claim after her clan's devastation, it became the accepted fact this Skill was all about barehanded fighting abilities, against various kinds of opposition. Naturally, as the inventor and founder of this version of Mutsu Enmei-ryū, Kīchi held the highest rank possible. The style itself was as ancient as she was, when East Asia was far more united in martial culture, and thus was an amalgamation of those, building the most complete CQC syllabus in modern day.
Sword of All Lands and Eras: A+
Part of her clan's heritage, focused on swordsmanship. Named Kōhachi-ryū, it's an ancient school of swordsmanship: eight styles, considered to be the inspiration to all swordsmanship in West Japan. This was one of Yoshitsune's two main styles of swordsmanship – the other being the Minamoto Clan's inherent style – but Kīchi herself didn't use this as much.
Onmōudō (Dharma): A
A master onmyōji of Buddhism and renowned teacher. It's said her knowledge of secret rituals were great, but her inability to find a worthy successor… or simply someone interesting enough she'd be willing to teach them meant this claim went untested until her death. There was no witness to her using personally this Skill, either.
Six Secret Teachings' Art of War: EX
Ultimate strategies regarded as a world treasure. It's a strategy book as legendary as the Three Strategies of Huang Shigong, and considered one of the Seven Military Classics. Kīchi was this book's custodian and guardian, which she eventually passed down to Yoshitsune.
Eternal Arms Mastery: A+
Mastery of combat arts has reached the point of being said to be unrivalled in one's era. By complete merging of mind, body and technique, it is possible to make use of full fighting skills even when under the influence of any sort of mental hindrance.
Noble Phantasms:
Gomon: Gateway of Conviction
Rank: EX
Type: Support
Range: 1
Max. Targets: 1
Mutsu Enmei-ryū, Ōgi. The final five techniques an Enmei-ryū practitioner must go through if they wished to be recognized as a 'master'. The verb 'go through' explained most of their requirements: they weren't so much an established set of movements than five offensive philosophies one must internalize, then practice in the World to initiate the Mystery contained within. Every master had different interpretations of this quintuple set, then added them to the clan library for future generations to learn and take inspiration from. Kīchi herself set this structure after seeing how the Minamoto Clan decided to select its leaders and pass on their own array of skills.
Northern Obsidian Tortoise. Eastern Jade Dragon. Southern Vermillion Bird. Western Snow Tiger. Central Golden Qilin. The Five Symbols and Five Phases weren't considered as protective guardians according to Mutsu Clan teachings, but as gatekeepers of further progress into [Divinity] instead. Challenging each practitioner to draw these Divine Spirits' concepts and attributes into oneself, then performing five killing otherworldly techniques, impossible for humans yet must be enacted by humans.
Rank-Up on all parameters except Endurance and Mana. Can be described as the epitome of martial arts – again, as varied as there were practitioners in existence. For them, achieving these five techniques meant stepping past the limit of humanity and into the realm of war gods, the asura.
Six Secret Teachings and Three Strategies: Noble Demon King's Great Feather Fan
Rank: A
Type: Anti-Fortress
Range: 1~50
Max. Targets: 500
An usen made from her own snow-white tengu feathers. It's usually a tool used to command troops, but on the other hand, they appeared in legends and paintings as tools containing vast amounts of supernatural power.
Putting its destructive power in one word, that word would be "tremendous". The winds released with its True Name reach the level of storms, cataclysm that shake the earth and split mountains. Currently on loan to one of her colleagues among Hyakki Yakō.
Character Description
More well-known with her 'normal' disguise, the elderly monk 'Kīchi Hōgen', Kīchi was the Mutsu Clan's Great Ancestor – the sole remaining royal tengu bloodline, showcased by her white hair and feathers in contrast to her family members' typical raven black. Of course, she's not the progenitor of her bloodline, but she's certainly the first recorded in human history after her deliberate contact and relationship with Yoshitsune, her last student, whom she'd taken as her in-law after marrying her younger sister, Shizuka, to the Minamoto General. From henceforth, the Mutsu Clan was established in the Outer Side of the World after the official human-yōkai pact bridging it and the Reverse Side.
A master of combat arts in every sense of the word, leaving no aspect undiscovered… apart from firearms, perhaps, which she detested due to the negative moral-building they brought to their practitioners. Instead, her main research – and obsession – as a magus was how to train the body to triumph against all manners of assault, focusing on independent reliance instead of the assistance of tools – contrasting her student's penchant for weaponry, ironically.
She came to the Minamoto Clan's service after the Taira Clan hunted down, exterminated, and destroyed her clan's home, leaving her and Shizuka the sole survivors, the latter of whom she sent away with Yoshitsune for safety. She pledged herself to Yoritomo to accrue revenge – shamefully for someone as prideful as she was – and stayed in royal court service after the Taira's complete destruction to this day, assuming the role of Imperial Instructor when necessary.
Kuhashiya
Predicted Class: Rider, Berserker, Avenger
Gender: Female
Height: 220 cm (300 cm)
Weight: 100 kg (190 kg)
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Strength: C
Endurance: D+
Agility: A+
Mana: B
Luck: C
Noble Phantasm: EX
Class/Personal Skills:
Riding: B (B+)
Most vehicles and animals can be handled with above average skill, even vehicles non-existent in the time period she was alive in, without exception. However, she cannot ride the likes of Phantasmal Species such as Monstrous Beasts. Gains a positive modifier when riding 'herself' – or, more specifically, her flaming chariot lower half.
Magic Resistance (Flame): EX
Supreme protection against all [Fire]-based Magecraft, for she's made of flames herself. However, in actual combat, her general ability to cancel other spells altogether is at most B-ranked.
Mad Enhancement: C
Raises basic parameters and strengthens one's physical abilities in exchange of hindering mental capacities. However, with age and wisdom, Kuhashiya can hold basic conversations just fine even with the Skill active. Using Living Weapon and leaving her host to handle complex mental calculations is her typical way of circumventing this drawback.
Yōkai Realm: C
Kuhashiya's personal Marble Phantasm, common to most yōkai of her stature. Rank-Up to all parameters except Agility and Luck. Being a [Fire]-based Guardian Spirit, this Bounded Field constantly gives [Fire] damage towards her opponent. However, in terms of absolute Conceptual Weight, hers was not exceptionally powerful because of her weaknesses to opposing Elements.
Mana Burst (Flame): A+
Infuses weapon with [Fire]-based Mana. Unique to her Origin of [Duality], Kuhashiya wields all three of physical vermillion flame, magical azure flame, and spiritual white flame. The tools she usually wields are her whips and chariot wheels, though typically she simply transfers this ability to her host and lets them channel this Skill into whatever weapon they're comfortable with.
Aragoto Dance: B-
The combat skills Kuhashiya learnt during life from her older sister. Unique to the Izumo-taishi, this was a style specifically tailored to miko who were physically weaker than men.
Noble Phantasms: — (None recorded)
Character Profile
A kasha (lit. "fire chariot") is a yōkai who snatches corpses and spirits them away to hell. Its name originally referred to the mythical chariot believed to transport sinners to the underworld. It is believed this folklore got fused with the ancient Japanese belief a cat should never be allowed in the vicinity of a corpse, resulting in the conception of kasha as a monstrous cat driving a fiery chariot. She is a servant of hell tasked with torturing the very souls she steals. In Japanese, there is a saying: "…one is in a fiery chariot…", which means one is suffering great financial difficulty. This saying originates from a belief in kasha, with the struggle of poverty being likened to 'kasha's torture'.
Japanese folktales also feature another type of kasha known as Kuhashiya. Most of these tales revolve around a cat who wishes to repay the kindness of a poor temple which has taken it in. This cat will cause something eerie to happen at a funeral, only stopping the supernatural show when its favoured temple gets involved in order to improve the temple's reputation. There are many variants of this story, but they are all based on the folk belief cats have the ability to exert mysterious powers upon the dead. As these tales spread, various funeral rites were introduced all over Japan to keep kasha away from the deceased.
A former human who was a miko serving at Izumo-taisha, born to the Nakamura blacksmithing family. The grudge transforming her into a yōkai was one of vengeful torture and murder when she was brutally raped and beaten to death by several of the temple's many sponsors. The Empress personally came and purified her when she rampaged and nearly burnt the whole complex down, then employed her within the Hyakki Yakō, giving her the sense of stability required to control all newborn yōkai's powers. She has been observing Mai for quite some time, ever since they met.
O
Oda Nobunaga
Title: Yamatai's Demon Queen
Predicted Class: Archer, Berserker, Avenger
Gender: Female
Height: 152~180 cm
Weight: 43~? Kg
Alignment: Lawful (Chaotic) Neutral
Strength: B
Endurance: B
Agility: B
Mana: A
Luck: A-
Noble Phantasm: EX
Class/Personal Skills:
Magic Resistance: B
Her understanding of Magecraft was deep, but specialized in 'how to circumvent and defeat them' instead of using it herself. Cancel all spells below three verses, and significantly reduce the effect of High-Thaumaturgy and High Rituals. When she's summoned as [Avenger], this skill extended to the items she 'gifted' to others.
Independent Action: EX
Her military prowess was based on her personal experience as a soldier on the battlefield – a role she liked to disguise herself in – to directly scout and battle the less-trained enemy general. This hands-on approach caused numerous headaches among her retainers, because they couldn't control it. While this might result in her qualifying for the [Assassin] Class, her habit of dropping all matters of stealth in favour of mass recognition of her deeds meant this skill stayed as it was.
Military Tactics: A
Her innovative and revolutionary rendition and correction to the old annals, while still retaining their core values, enabled her to dominate the battlefield still populated by old-fashioned techniques. Combining Nanban and traditional knowledge, she's the type to extract every little thing from what she had to gain the slightest advantage and overturn the situation. Grant a rank-up to [Charisma] when leading soldiers.
Charisma: B+
The proof of her ability to rule over wide expanses of land separated not only by geography, but also culture, from pure manipulative pragmatism to contain any dissent. The Yamatai Empire held the third-greatest influence in the modern world, behind only the British Colonial Empire and American Federation. It should be higher, but the role of her capable retainers in expanding and stabilizing her rule couldn't be overlooked. The fact she was able to earn and maintain their loyalty was already proof she's charismatic, though.
Mana Burst (Hellfire): EX
Drawing strength from her connection to the Sixth Heaven, Naraka, she was able to bathe her existence in the corrosive, damning flames of hell. Grant rank-ups to Strength and Luck, and rank-down to Mana. This skill would be weakened in any other Class other than [Avenger]. Owing to the infinite nature of the Sixth Heaven, this also acted as a pseudo-[Self Replenishment (Mana)], though it needed to be consciously evoked.
Oblivion Correction: E
Unusually weak for the [Avenger] Class, this skill merely gave her photographic memory of any important events in her life, instead of granting near-unshakeable willpower from unforgiven and unforgotten crimes committed against her. Perhaps this was due to the newfound part in her soul to grant mercy whenever it's pragmatically suitable for her needs…
Tenka Fubu ― Worldly Dreaming: EX
Being the person who bridged the final barrier between the [Mortal] and [Divine] at her peak, her might was greatly increased the higher the opponents' rank in [Divinity] or the heavier their Conceptual Weight was. This skill would be inactive whenever the aforementioned two attributes fell below a certain hidden parameter. A person who decoded the Authorities the gods possessed and internalized what it meant within her subjects.
Gasha-Dokuro ― Keeper of Evils: A+
Nobunaga's Guardian Spirit and Living Weapon. A multi-armed gigantic skeleton wreathed in hellfire, it presided over her since birth and until death. While immensely powerful physically, its primary function was a defensive fortress made of bones and flames, protecting Nobunaga from any divine interference and normal attacks. It often acted as the conduit of Nobunaga's various skills in the Outside World, enabling her to fight consecutively without wasting any magic energy from its connection to the rich mana in the Reverse Side of the World. It's originally a guardian of the Sixth Heaven, and granted to Nobunaga upon her reincarnation.
Noble Phantasms:
Multifaceted Worlds: Prismatic Formation
Rank: EX
Type: Anti-Army, Anti-Divine
Range: EX
Max. Targets: ∞
The manifestation of her personal skills with any forms of firearms, as well as the well-trained discipline of her harquebus troops. Originally, it started as a three-line, single-side formation to overwhelm an approaching army with continuous volleys, it evolved into a multidirectional, spherical rain of bullets as a defensive fortification. The higher the opponents' [Agility] was, the stronger and faster this technique would hit. While it's not always lethally accurate, it's guaranteed to hit the enemy in one part of their body.
The legend of her taking down the Takeda army's famous cavalry, as well as her feat of capsizing a Nanban pirate fleet through decisive counterattacks and personal sniping, meant this skill was suitable against opponents with high [Riding] skill. [Tenka Fubu ― Worldly Dreaming]'s effects were stackable with this Noble Phantasm.
Nobunaga could alter the number, speed, and strength of the volleys, as well as endow it with her [Mana Burst (Hellfire)]. However, naturally, it was more taxing for her and the Master the higher the need for firepower. Harquebus, cannonballs, pistol, ballista, catapults – every kind of projectile was available for deployment. It's not suitable to use on top of a moving platform.
Papiyas Metamorphosis: Demon King of a Thousand Heavens
Rank: EX
Type: Anti-Divine
Range: ―
Max. Targets: ―
The Marble Phantasm she received from the Samsara the moment she embraced her role as the 'Demon King of the Sixth Heaven', tasked to bring down corrupt gods and punish evil men. It made her a being that 'holds absolute power against those with [Divinity] and Mystery'. Upon its activation, it renders her nude as a visual effect, and a scorching hell materialized in the world, acting as the 'hell where the wrong was judged and punished'.
Unlike her other 'selves' who died after rejecting everything supernatural, but ended up with a version of this Noble Phantasm nonetheless and everything she strived for was corrupted and perverted by the retainers she believed in, she chose to emulate the 'Demon King' persona to manipulate the people into working with themselves more and rely on divine intervention less this time. With the false promise of 'those who served the others around them, irrespective of rank and status, would be rewarded', she grasped the empty niche the local religious leaders were incapable of utilizing.
In it, Nobunaga truly became the Divine Spirit race [Demon], assuming equal strength and Authority as the real Demon King of the Sixth Heaven who was rendered inactive due to their need of a host like Nobunaga to influence the Outer Side of the World. Because one of its attributes was [Punishment], it was compatible to use alongside other Bounded Fields so long as the intentions were suitable.
Character Description
The first Empress of Yamatai, uniting the war-torn and divided modern Japan, Korea, Northeastern China, and Southeastern Russia into one cohesive empire. Her ascension was rapid, reaching her peak in only a few decades and ruling more than a century. The laws and norms she established during the union were still in effect today, contributing to the stability of the large empire even after she stepped down.
Born as the heir to the small province of Owari, she was known for her unusual and disrespectful behaviour as a child. Historians recorded this was simply due to her exhibiting what's considered normal by modern standards, yet difficult to accept for the people of her time. Succeeding her father's rule after her death, she quickly transformed Owari's entire system and rampaged through Nihon, winning battle after battle quickly and decisively despite oftentimes striking with inferior numbers.
While early historians praised her then-unorthodox military tactics, one must not ignore her personal capabilities as a warrior. A renowned markswoman and accomplished soldier, she popularized the 'gun and sword' combat style which later would be adopted by many pirates across the globe. While not a genuine master in every aspect, her skill was enough to place her among the best ten in most martial skills. It was rumoured she regularly trained with her King Consort and retainers to near-death since she was young, but this was difficult to confirm.
She was deified as the 'Demon King of Sixth Heaven' after her death several decades following her releasing the throne, wielding the Authority of [Punishment] and [Hell] in Shinto-Buddhism afterwards. While historians believed her to be atheist in life, the influx of religion and cultures soon after Yamatai's creation meant verifying her belief was difficult, owing to the lack of personal account from herself.
Otakemaru
Title: The Exceptional One
Predicted Class: Saber, Berserker, Avenger
Gender: Male
Height: ?
Weight: ?
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Strength: A
Endurance: EX
Agility: C
Mana: A+
Luck: C
Noble Phantasm: A++
Class/Personal Skills:
Authority of Beasts: C
An [Anti-Humanity] skill acquired once Otakemaru was 'betrayed' by humanity. Allowing the anger and vengefulness to consume him, it gave him a minor boost against Heroic Spirits, Divine Spirits, and objects made by humans.
Independent Manifestation (Support): B
A derivative of the original skill, in a way Otakemaru himself couldn't apply this skill to himself. Instead, this specialized in granting unsupported continuous existence of a familiar without the usual necessary energy cost by the summoner. This skill gave this 'extension of himself' resistance against [Instant Death]-effect attacks.
Mad Enhancement: EX
Raised basic parameters greatly at the cost of normal reason. However, the latter was a conscious choice when Otakemaru chose to abandon his former ideals to support humanity. Because all he had left to do was destroy those who turned their backs to him, he reasoned there's no need for reason, and thus put it to one side. What remained of his sanity was the single-minded focus of pursuit of humanity's destruction.
Demon of Mutation: B
The physical expression of the tale when a heroic young man was transformed into a demon in life. Regardless of how the details went, this scar from the past emphasized his physical capabilities beyond what's normally possible for someone with his Conceptual Weight. Otakemaru used this edge against his fellow 'Calamities' from the fact they were accepted into humanity, unlike him, making this skill impossible for Tamamo-no-Mae and Shuten-dōji to master.
Yōkai Transformation (Human): A (C)
A basic skill to go to and fro between humanoid and monstrous form, which Otakemaru had long abandoned to assume the latter semi-permanently, leading to the skill's degradation. A corrupted form of [Self-Modification].
Noble Phantasms:
Obsidian Field & Crimson Realm: Failed Protagonist's Self-Expression
Rank: B+
Type: Support, Anti-Army
Max. Targets: 100
Range: 150
Otakemaru's personal Reality Marble, the ultimate version of a regular Yōkai Realm which overturned the Outside World's suppression and laws into a place advantageous to him. When red lilies and wisterias bloomed, it indicated a field feasting on the blood of the fallen was here, pooling in their dying wills and regrets into one condensed cursed land.
It granted a continuous negative penalty on those he considered as 'opponents', greatly reducing physical parameters and invoking mental damage. Any other living being aside from him would be constantly bombarded by Otakemaru's thoughts on that fateful day, when the humans he trusted turned upon him. In his vision, those were the true monsters, and not him.
This Noble Phantasm's rank wasn't as high as it should be because of Otakemaru's unstable ideals and conviction after he descended and embraced his bestial nature. Additionally, actions and objects which shook his mental state might or might not weaken its effects – strong enough victims might resist the [Mental Pollution] negative effects for some time.
Sanmyōken: Triple Heavenly Threat
Rank: EX
Type: Anti-Unit, Anti-Army
Max. Targets: ?
Range: ?
Otakemaru's original triplet of swords, which was currently sealed and held by the bloodline of the Minamoto Clan through Suzuka-gozen's descendants. Daitsūren, Shōtōren, and Kenmyōren – the trio famously wielded by the dancing fox demon princess of Mt. Suzuka were actually attained from Otakemaru's corpse. Them, along with their husband main sword Sohayamaru, were the cornerstones sealing his main body from reviving.
Their passive ability was [Immortality] so long as the three swords weren't destroyed completely. However, even if Otakemaru was at full strength, he lacked the 'humanity' necessary to draw out their full potential, unlike their eventual female wielder, as they're forged by the deities who favoured 'peace among all realms' – one he repeatedly aimed to break. Therefore, their abilities were sealed to him even if he regained them.
Character Description
Otakemaru is considered one of Japan's 'Three Great Calamities', alongside Tamamo-no-Mae and Shuten-dōji. Residing in Mt. Suzuka, he's said to possess great supernatural power: flying, summoning storms, or even raining fire down from the sky. He represented the 'akuma' tribe in the yōkai coalition in the past.
In the Heian Period, due to refusing to comply with the pact signed to create peace between the realms, he was hunted down and eventually killed by Suzuka-gozen and the team she led, with his remains sealed in Byōdō-in. His three holy swords became his killer's best-known weapon, and it's said he could never truly die so long as the swords existed.
Kashin Koji, the mysterious man whose red eyes each contain three pupils, was really an avatar of Otakemaru. The seal holding his true body weakened due to the ongoing war, allowing a small amount of his Conceptual Weight to merge with a great amount of condensed magic stones, coalescing into the form of the dark sorcerer Kashin Koji. He aimed to set his true form free once again among humanity.
Once, he was a cherished member of a simple human village. Appearing out of nowhere, his helpful and diligent attitude quickly earned him a place in society. However, a series of unexplained accidents was soon blamed on him, since he's the only one who possessed enough spiritual power to perform those heinous acts, and was persecuted. Turning into himself and allowing his bestial nature roam wild, he was eventually defeated by the wielder of a holy sword and retreated to Mt. Suzuka.
S
Saitō Yoshitatsu
Title: Failed Nioh
Predicted Class: Saber, Berserker
Gender: Female
Height: 172 cm
Weight: 59 kg
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Strength: A+
Endurance: C
Agility: B
Mana: C
Luck: D
Noble Phantasm: A++
Class/Personal Skills:
Animalistic Logic: B
A combative way of thinking resulting from her yōkai transformations. It's not useful for finding weak points, but the speed of thinking focusing on killing the enemy swiftly increases. If combined with the skill [Self Evolution], the speed of defeating an opponent increases even further.
Divinity: C
The daughter of a Divine Spirit-rank oni, Miyoshino, and the human warrior Saitō Dōsan. Originally, this skill should've been higher-ranked because of her father's strength, but her temperament didn't suit it. Rank-Up in Strength when 'purging' her opponents.
Eternal Arms Mastery: B
Prevents degradation of fighting skills when under the effect of mental hindrance. However, her martial skill wasn't that high to begin with, and thus more easily preserved no matter her condition.
Mad Enhancement: EX
Rank-Up to all physical parameters. The deprivation of reason wasn't quite apparent because of her inborn muteness and crazed behaviour, so most people would just look at her and say, "Oh, she's just being herself again." Strengthens the skill [Yōkai Transformation] into [Yōkai Realm].
Mana Burst: A
Yoshitatsu's sole magical talent was cladding her weapons with her outrageously powerful energy, though also necessitating a level of quality to prevent them from breaking in an instant since she's not skilled in Reinforcement. This skill resonated well with her Guardian Spirits, though she was unable to use Living Weapons due to her varied yōkai transformation skills.
Mental Corruption: B
A Skill where due to possessing a distorted mentality, Yoshitatsu was able to greatly resist out any mental interference thaumaturgy. However, at the same time, it became impossible for her to come to a mutual understanding with individuals who didn't possess a skill of equivalent rank.
Yōkai Transformation: A
The highest natural rank possible for someone with human blood. Yoshitatsu was able to shift into three different forms from similarly different Guardian Spirits and Elements, a sign of a true master. Able to change without any major consequence – though she herself already had little to lose. Rank-Up to Endurance and Agility when countering an enemy.
Yōkai Realm: B
A temporary manifestation of her personal Marble Phantasm, owing to her mother's blood. A typical self-expression of an inhabitant of the Reverse Side of the World, it's rather fragile and dependent on her Mana and Endurance. Summons a field of red spider lilies and wisteria iconic to Otakemaru, symbolizing her blood relation to him – which was different than the other two 'noble' oni lineages, the Mt. Ōe and Amaterasu.
Noble Phantasms:
Pro-An-Tri-Deu: Wildcard Blessing
Rank: C (EX)
Type: Support
Range: 1
Max. Targets: 1
Yoshitatsu's innate ability to absorb and utilize others' Guardian Spirits to strengthen herself, provided she could empathize enough with them and willing to bear their spiritual burdens. As it was, her personality prevented this Noble Phantasm to achieve its full potential, merely granting her with the three Guardian Spirits she was born with.
Makami, the [Fire] wolf. Ame-no-Mitori, the [Lightning] eagle. Kagewani, the [Water] tatari-gami. Each with their own strengths and weaknesses, Yoshitatsu's inability to simultaneously wield more than one of them was due to her poor resolve in training in Magecraft. They were servants of their respective domains' gods, born to assist humans and yōkai alike.
This Noble Phantasm granted Yoshitatsu three different transformations, depending on each Guardian Spirit's speciality. The Brute with the Origin [Guard], the Feral with [Shift], and the Phantom with [Shadow] – each with its different fighting styles and distances. Only in this regard Yoshitatsu was an unparalleled genius, fluidly changing her patterns according to whatever's necessary.
Character Description
The supposed heir and Princess General of Mino, daughter of Saitō Dōsan. Born from the oni princess Miyoshino, she was supposed to be the perfect union between the two noble families – her mother hailing from a prestigious line different than Mt. Ōe's one, while Dōsan was a self-made noble with all the associated positivity. However, due to unfortunate circumstances, she lost her mother at an early age, and her father busied himself in his plans to conquer Nihon in grief, before eventually falling to the Oda Clan under Nobunaga's tricks.
She grew to be a violent and illogical Princess General, who had great proclivity to cruelty against both allies and enemies. Seeing his father surrendering to Nobunaga with nary a fight, she rebelled and overthrown him, having been deprived of the all-out bloody war she's been expecting. However, history noted she perished in a sudden and unexplainable explosion of Inabayama Castle while her father was away, maintaining the treaty signed between Mino and Owari as a result.
A half-yōkai, her mixed blood was unusually balanced, granting her the ability [Yōkai Shift], a particular variation of [Yōkai Transformation] which blended the physical prowess of inhuman beings with the wisdom and skill of continuous human improvement. Born mute, she was remarkably expressive in a conversation, and was rumoured to have her other senses enhanced as a result. She fought mainly with a katana, though as most Princess Generals, she's also adept with wielding a variety of weapons.
Sengo Chiyome
Title: Orochihime
Predicted Class: Assassin, Caster, Berserker
Gender: Female
Height: 154 cm
Weight: 46 kg
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Strength: C
Endurance: C
Agility: A+
Mana: EX
Luck: C
Noble Phantasm: EX
Class/Personal Skills:
Possession Inheritance (Divinity): EX
The container of Yamata-no-Orochi. Her compatibility with the serpent god allowed her to transform fully into his full divine form at great cost, explaining the high ranking of this skill. Nothing could escape the law of Equivalent Exchange. Mostly, though, she simply used this skill's passive effect – which was the information, experience, and knowledge she could gleam from him. Her [Yōkai Transformation] skill was derived from this.
Presence Concealment: A+
Hides one's presence as a Servant. Suitable for spying. It is possible to disappear completely and become almost impossible to be detected, even against a Servant's perception. However, efficiency will decrease once preparations to attack are taken. Pre-prepared Thaumaturgical attacks will not dissipate this skill.
Witchcraft (Oracle): EX
An offshoot of the Dakini heavenly methods, focused on scrying all of past, present, and future. While Chiyome is perfectly capable of orthodox Witchcraft, she specializes in this due to the influence of her captive, Yamata-no-Orochi, who desires to overturn his fate of losing to Susanoo. It can be countered with elements outside of her current time and space, though she can still be accurate if she has established a medium between her and the target. Her rank in the original skill is A+.
Curse of the Serpent God: EX
An inherited responsibility in each generation of the leader of Mochizuki Clan, an offshoot of the main Kōga Clan. The mark of the holder of Yamata-no-Orochi, Nihon's first true monster, it allows the host to utilize his skillset – how much of it depends on the capacity of the host. Chiyome holds the highest rank in this aspect.
Ninjutsu: EX
The general term of the techniques taught to and mastered by Nihon intelligence operatives. Chiyome is a master of the Kōga-ryū, and her level of skill is enough to stand among its legendary leaders… if not above them, though circumstances lead her to establish her own separate system. She also receives similar training from her ancestors in Mt. Ōe. The Sengo Clan's shinobi techniques descend from her as a combination of the two.
Subversive Activities: A
The talent to reduce the enemy forces in the preliminary stages before going into battle. An expert of traps. Chiyome's rank comes from a combination of her Thaumaturgical application to orthodox ninjutsu as well as Nanban ideas from those around her at the time she's alive.
Yōkai Transformation (Fake): A
Born human, Chiyome draws this ability from being the container of Yamata-no-Orochi. This skill's rank solely derives from that; she has no talent in this field otherwise, as it required a yōkai heritage. A true A-Ranked practitioner will also be able to perform more than one transformation with different Guardian Spirits – as she is, she has none of those.
Noble Phantasms:
Summoning – Eightfold Fields of Winter-Cherry, Figs, and Cypresses
Rank: EX
Type: Support
Range: 1
Max. Targets: 1
A true summoning of Nihon's highest Divine Spirit, the Great God of Mt. Ibuki, Yamata-no-Orochi. During the formation of the empire, Susanoo slain him with Totsuka-no-Tsurugi, and from his body was extracted the current Three Regalia of Yamatai. With his body destroyed, his soul was sealed within a specific container which was broken by a Mochizuki Clan ancestor. Thus, that family became responsible of becoming containers of the infamous monster.
Chiyome's control over him was beyond exceptional, to the point of being unnatural. Certainly, her husband who inherited the sword Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi naturally creates a counter-resonance to improve her control, but she herself is also talented. Her acceptance and willingness to sacrifice her original, unblemished beauty and dedicate her body to contain the monster is a stark contrast to those before her who did their duties reluctantly, scorning their fates through their lives.
A magic summoning ritual on the realm of a pseudo-Marble Phantasm, enabling the descent of a Yamatai Great God. Chiyome can partially or fully summon Yamata-no-Orochi in his prime, or simply extract some of his Authority of the [Serpent] to easily summon other serpent-based beings. She can also imbue this power onto herself, giving her the ability to transform into a yōkai despite being born fully human. When fully called forth, it will exact a great toll on her body – no matter how much she gets along with the Great God, there's no escaping the fact a human body is inherently incompatible to use as a vessel of a complete Divine Spirit.
Character Description
The progenitor of the Sengo-ryū kunoichi. A minor noblewoman in the Sengoku Period, she was destined to serve the Takeda Clan following the main branch of her initial family, the Kōga-ryū shinobi, being the most prominent branch member from the Mochizuki Clan. Alas, a chance meeting meant she was married off to a simple blacksmith from Kuwana – though future retelling mentioned the relationship was a happy one.
The Mochizuki Clan descended from Kōga Saburō, the Kōga-shodaime, and one of his daughters who inherited the soul of Yamata-no-Orochi from him once she was born. He was cursed with it during his youth, and from his daughter onwards, all Mochizuki Clan Head was female, requiring them to pass on the name to their daughters after they married into another man's household. Chiyome was the first to be formally acknowledged as a Kōga-ryū jōnin, as a Mochizuki was expected to solely master Thaumaturgy as a miko.
In the Sengoku period, she surfaced as one of Nobunaga's most important kunoichi – the term itself originated from her, making her a true progenitor – and was vital in the demise of her former would-be master, the Takeda Clan, by assassinating Shingen in her sleep while disguised as a miko. She codified the kunoichi training manual for future women alongside the 'Blood Kite' Katō Danzō, the other prominent kunoichi of her time.
Her frequent priestess disguise wasn't actually accurate – she was a properly trained and official miko. That was the only way she, and her predecessors, could contain Yamata-no-Orochi with complicated rituals and dances. During her downtime, due to the lessening responsibility to the field as her stature grew, she would assume her full miko duties in a shrine she built near her husband's house.
Senjū-dōji
Title: Thousand-Armed Arhat
Predicted Class: Caster, Berserker, Foreigner
Gender: Female
Height: 152 cm
Weight: 44 kg
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Strength: D
Endurance: C (EX)
Agility: D
Mana: EXLuck: A+
Class/Personal Skills:
Independent Manifestation: A
Senjū-dōji's speciality, related to her mastery over her body's reaction to her own Magecraft, specifically self-summoning rituals. Whenever the loose requirements for her survival were met, she could arbitrarily will herself into existence befitting her original self as a household cursed wraith.
Item Construction: EX
Her original self's Origin, [Creation], was expressed fully with this skill, enabling Senjū-dōji to craft offshoot arms (as vessels) with varying effects. Her lack of ability to use anything other than her own body parts should have lowered this Skill's rank, but said fact also meant she didn't have to spend time to gather components and manufacture items, negating this Skill's original drawback. Still, the heights of Magecraft her products could achieve were befitting of this rank.
Yōkai Realm: EX
The ability to summon her original domain from the Reverse Side to the Outer Side of the World and indefinitely maintain it. This Skill was directly enhanced by her servitude to the human-yōkai pact, removing all negative buffs simply existing in the Outer Side's Textures would usually enact to regular yōkai. An offshoot of a Caster's Class Skill [Territory Creation], modified owing to her Spirit Origin. Rank-Up to all parameters except Mana.
Mad Enhancement: C
Rank-Up to all parameters except for Luck and Mana, though the typical reduction of reasoning with this Skill was minimized owing to her own stubbornness and pride, refusing to degenerate into an irrational woman, in contrast to those with the same Skill Rank who lack reasoning to begin with, thus not changing their personality and behaviour too much.
Existence Outside the Domain: B
A relatively low Rank for someone whose true form was so inhuman, indicating she's an estranged descendant from the void of outer space. To be more specific, her Great Ancestor was the Protogenoi Aletheia, the End of the Darkness. Senjū-dōji's [Creation] Origin was derived from this being's [Truth], who was the most powerful among Chaos's scouting-terraforming machines, sharing the same name and being the base the Twelve Olympians were designed after.
Battle Continuation: A
A Skill allowing for the continuation of combat after sustaining mortal wounds. It would also reduce mortality rate from injury. A subset from her natural healing abilities and yōkai body, especially within her Yōkai Realm, which enabled her to resist even Anti-Yōkai extermination rituals.
High-Speed Divine Words: A
High-Thaumaturgy-level Magecraft can be cast at the speed of Single-Action spells without the use of Magic Circuits, as her entire body was composed of Magic Crests from the arms she'd collected throughout her multiple lives. Regardless, it was her own talent which enabled her to use each and any Magecraft engraved within.
Incarnated Spirit: A+
Senjū-dōji was a unique species of yōkai, a mixture of typical poltergeist, wraith, Elemental, and alien entity. Able to share mana with nature, it was possible to draw an inexhaustible supply of magical energy from the physical world.
Noble Phantasms:
Beckoning Hands: Phantom Palpation
Rank: A+
Type: Support
Range: 1
Max. Targets: 1
A manifestation of Senjū-dōji's Element, [Arms], as well as her sensory capabilities… or, in this case, exactly the opposite. Because of who she was when she was still human, Senjū-dōji always attracted unsavoury individuals who aimed to attain her powers for themselves. To counter this, she reversed the process and enabled herself to detect these sorts of troubles, inadvertently luring them in for her to rip apart and consume them for her own strength.
Senjū-dōji chopped off her victims' arms and coalesced them into her one beloved ball which she played with as a child, still dribbling it around to this day, seeking more 'bounce' from more villains she consumed. It was a dense mass of infinite limbs, and she could manifest parts of it anywhere, anytime, in any size and function, channelling her innate talent for Magecraft through them. Rank-Up to Mana, and reduces Mana consumption by using these arms' inherent Conceptual Weight.
Hyakushiki Kannon: True Thousand Hands
Rank: A++
Type: Anti- Unit; Anti-Army
Range: 1000
Max. Targets: 1000
Senjū-dōji's perception of how an 'ideal protector' should be like: caring and accepting as a bodhisattva, lethal and powerful like an asura. She summoned an ethereal great statue displaying Guan Yin's many arms – modified to her likeness with many, many more limbs – which struck her enemies with great force and speed. Omnidirectional and flexible, these palms, fists, and finger strikes appeared from seemingly thin air, undetected, before it's too late.
Born from the innocent imagination of a child, as well as her dying hope, this figure would move and react only as fast as Senjū-dōji's belief. If she was unshakeable in its invincibility and capabilities, then this Noble Phantasm would respond accordingly.
Character Description
A 'child of miracles'… at least, when she was still alive and human. From a tender age, before she could even fluently speak, this unnamed girl was capable of birthing miracles one after another from her limbs. Expert magi revealed and coined the term they previously considered impossible for a human to have: her Origin, [Creation], causing those around her to worship her as, at least, a deific incarnation. Living a sheltered and spoiled life, where offerings and presents overflowing in abundance, her first few years was nothing but happiness.
Unfortunately, she was born to an ancient cult trying to 'return to the other side', its founders having discovered and received knowledge from the [Abyss], long before they settled down in Nihon's rich, Mystery-filled Texture. Now that their prayers were seemingly answered, they immediately captured and restrained this clueless girl… and promptly sacrificed her as a catalyst to open a dimensional portal and summon their 'god'.
Alas, the ritual method wasn't meant for humans to either comprehend or perform, and it destroyed the arms they so prized, which were revealed to be mutated into a perfect receptacle for Magic Cores – the reason why her Origin was able to be so powerful. Still, [Creation] wasn't enough to save her life, despite the mother of the current Empress arriving almost on time to rescue her and eliminate this dark group. To save this child, the dowager modified the remaining ritual to transform her into a zashiki-warashi, giving her a new name of 'Senju-dōji'.

Xu Lian
Title: Shangdi Samantabhadra
Predicted Class: Caster, Assassin, Avenger
Gender: – (originally female)
Height: 173 cm (female); 185 cm (male)
Weight: 54 kg (female); 63 kg (male)
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Strength: A+
Endurance: EX
Agility: B
Mana: EX
Luck: D
Class/Personal Skills:
Item Construction: A++
Inheriting her husband's alchemical knowledge, she furthered and combined it with various practical skills, primarily martial arts and the concept of enacting Single-Action spells via one's own body as the catalyst. Lian was able to extract various substances from all living beings – especially herself – to concoct seemingly improbable potions, such as the 'Elixir of Life'… though she claimed it was nothing but a satirical replica.
Territory Creation: B
Intentionally lowered by herself, Lian focused on bringing in her Temple onto her own body, negating the need of a fixed base but also forgoing its ultimate production capabilities and quality. Though not to the level of materializing a Reality Marble onto one's own body, Lian set a radius around herself where 'everything is hers', taking inspiration from 'battle auras' and qi training.
Presence Concealment: A+
Lian's version was closer to merging with nature, fully utilizing her Element [Average One], to strike from unexpected angles regardless if there's any killing intent emitted or not, because she tuned her biological and spiritual waves to precisely match her surroundings. That said, it limited the instantaneous strength she could emit once she removed this Skill in exchange for undetectability.
Avenger: E (EX)
In another reality, she was a vengeful Nature Spirit hell-bent on feeding mortals to revive her husband, whom she felt died too miserably for someone of Xu Fu's position and reputation. However, Nihon's welcoming of the couple, along with its support of her after his death, neutered this Skill tremendously to the point it's non-existent. It's possible to summon another version of herself who fulfilled the aforementioned description.
Oblivion Correction: C (EX)
Along with the [Avenger] Skill, this one was also weakened compared to her original self. Still, because it carried with it some positive aspects, she was able to refocus and reappropriate this Skill, retaining it as perfect photographic memory. Summoned as her original version, Lian would be so consumed by the horrors which happened to the couple she would be a true Avenger.
Self-Replenishment (Nature): EX
A modification of an Avenger's typical Skill, Lian continuously and endlessly surged her Magic Energy so long as there's an Element her [Average One] attribute could bond to. Compatible Elements from living beings could also be forcibly extracted and utilized against their own body if Lian had enough insight to their abilities. A merger with the [Absorption] and [Battle Continuation] Skill, she was also able to reconstruct her own body from elemental building blocks.
Chinese Martial Arts: EX
Not only was Lian a master of the physical techniques, but her skills were boosted by her research into other aspects of what constituted 'martial arts' into a divine realm. Her limbs' movements were no different than dragonkinds' propensity to generate Mystery just by existing and moving, as imperceptible and unfathomable as literal poetry in motion. What made Lian truly dangerous was her ability to utilize different aspects of this Skill via her self-attained [Memory Partition] through her eight limbs – two legs and six arms, enacting a true asura.
Eternal Arms Mastery: A+
Mastery of combat arts has reached the point of being said to be unrivalled in one's era. By complete merging of mind, body and technique, it is possible to make use of full fighting skills even when under the influence of any sort of mental hindrance.
Feathered Being of the Immortal Realm (False): A
Immortality, recited by the Taoism ideology as an ideal for humanity to chase. In contrast to her friend Miaoyi, Lian attained this Skill purely through self-training, binding interference from nature to maintain fer flesh. Connected to her [Self-Replenishment (Nature)] Skill.
Noble Phantasms:
Tensen Sennin: Immortal Arborification
Rank: EX
Type: Support
Range: 1
Max. Targets: 1
The 'enlightenment' of both Thaumaturgical and martial arts, the culmination of the happy couple's decades of research and self-sacrifice to step into the Reverse Side of the World and become a Divine Spirit in all but name. Exchanging and fusing one's mortal body with the alien flora found in Kotaku's mysterious Texture, Lian turned immortal and invincible, able to regenerate indefinitely so long as there's magic energy in the air and along the ground… though she usually made sure there's multiple contingencies to fool any attackers seeking to limit her healing powers.
'Arborification' described the process of these parasitic spores transforming the mortal body, able to be controlled only through extensive and delicate magic energy training. In fact, fusing the tenets of Confucianism, wǔxíng, Nihon mysticism, and martial arts did Lian and Xu Fu managed to fully and safely integrate these species inside one's body. Enhancing one's senses to the extent of manipulating nature and ambient magic energy like one's limbs, this Noble Phantasm was often mistaken as the source of her combat power. Instead, it's merely the easy channel through which she utilized all her talents and skills.
God Beast Pangu: Rite of Just Completion
Rank: A++
Type: Anti-Army
Range: 500
Max. Targets: 2~1000
The largest specimen of the Reverse Side genus Wàidānhuā, which in its regular form broke down organic matter into magical energy. Unlike most predatory organisms native to that side, this was an alchemically, instead of mechanically, digestive process. As a result, it was difficult to gather the resulting magic energy unless it's already a part of the user.
However, this particular being blossomed in battlefields and mass cemeteries where it could feast on as much corpses as possible. Initially, mimicking certain fungi, it appeared to be separate beings, but eventually coalesced into one giant plant, with a stem made of multiple assimilated bodies and a large bud on top. Once Lian summoned and fused with it, she could take control and Arborify anything around her – whether it's Mana, the ground, or the living beings around it, forming a pseudo-Bounded Field as far as its roots were allowed to grow.
Because it took a long time to prepare, and practically only served to enhance her brute force, Lian rarely resorted to this Noble Phantasm, preferring her own, more lethal and agile, body. It was nicknamed 'Pangu' because Xu Fu and Lian used a cross-shaped ritual instead of a pure wǔxíng, as the name of the Central Guardian Beast. It didn't have any connection with that Divine Dragon otherwise.
Character Description
Xu Fu's wife who accompanied her journey to Nihon, under orders from Qin Shi Huang, to find the elixir of immortality. However, the couple's plan was actually to find something which could extinguish it instead, for their desperate friend, the zhenren Yu Miaoyi. Timing their journey right around the time her husband predicted the Emperor's death, and the subsequent political upheaval associated with it, they departed to Nihon as ambassadors of Qin, eager to establish their own place after escaping that failing dynasty.
Lian specialized in the field of botanical engineering and medicine, quickly assimilated into Yamatai's thirst for talents after her husband's passing, having 'failed' to attain the Elixir of Immortality the then-deceased Qin Shi Huang ordered them to find. Joining the first Himiko's court, she was tasked with researching how to merge the Reverse and Outer Side of the World in Nihon's Texture via her specialized fields, hoping to enable both humans and yōkais to consume each other's natural produces, instead of… well, each other.
Throughout the millennia, Lian had become what most called 'sages' – xianren in her mother tongue – the first true master of senjutsu now popular with shinobi clans' higher echelons. An [Average One] – though her original Elemnet was [Earth] – she was able to wield the elements like her own body, forgoing the need for spells and incantations, after transforming her own body closer to that of a Dead Apostle through her own research. Classifying herself as an 'advanced yōkai' similar to her current peers, she continued to keep watch of the Royal Family as a trusted advisor.
Y
Yamata-no-Orochi
Chiyome's true Guardian Spirit, though his presence is vastly different than normal ones. Usually, such beings will manifest in ethereal form, owing to their true bodies located either in the Reverse Side of the World or the Outside World's unreachable places to conserve energy and reduce the burden on the host. Yamata-no-Orochi, however, has its true self sealed in the female matriarchs of the Mochizuki family, an offshoot of the Kōga Clan, right after its defeat in the hands of Susanoo. Therefore, he can grant his host strength without the need of casting an avatar with far greater efficiency.
An ancient serpent god of Nihon, its strength and Conceptual Weight was to the point he could easily ascend and evolve into a true Dragon Kind, with Susanoo worrying he could become a Phantasmal Beast if he succeeded. For unknown reason, Yamata-no-Orochi chose not to do this for a long time, preferring to consume young maidens instead, and giving the God of [Storm] the opportunity to battle and slay it.
Each of his different heads has its own Element: [Fire], [Water], [Earth], [Flora], [Blood], [Poison], [Separation], and [Mirror] – with the main body/core possessing the Origin [Apocalypse]. Mastering just one takes a great toll on his host, because in his captivity, he has long lost interest in menial things and simply pours all of his strength when asked. It's evident of Chiyome's talent she's able to channel more than four at a time.
