Becoming the Warrior of Light (ARR)

Lady Rhea de Baphineaux, co-heir to the Baphineaux Barony in Ishgard, has her father's adventurous spirit. Before she settles down into her duties, she convinces her family to let her spend a year out in the world. Little did she know she would set in motion a destiny far greater than she could have ever expected. This is the first story in the 'A Journey of Rhea' series.

These are the experiences of my Warrior of Light: Rhea Baphineaux.

Inside you will find some chapters which are purely OC side-stories or OC expansions on the MSQ storyline, and some which are more MSQ summary pieces that contain the thoughts, feelings and even some expansion of dialogue of my Warrior of Light. Chapters will be noted if they are predominantly or purely original content (OC) chapters which only reference or have small excerpts of MSQ dialogue in them.

I will admit, looking back at the writing, a large part of this story is MSQ summary with insights into how she is reaction/thinking about it all but others, the mainly OC pieces, are insights deeper into her as the Warrior of Light as well as the woman - Rhea, and her personal interactions with characters important to her and her story. However, come Heavensward and beyond there is considerably more OC side-stories or OC expansions on the MSQ storyline.

Also, while at times there will be periods of dialogue from the main story quests, this is not a scene-for-scene play-by-play of her playthrough through the MSQ of the game. This is intended to be windows into her experiences throughout the MSQ that are more peripheral and expand upon the gameplay story itself. While these stories will be in chronological order, and some will be recounting snippets or even summaries of events in the MSQ, they will not be repeating or replaying the MSQ in its entirety. That story was written wonderfully by the writers of FFXIV and I only seek to expand upon my character's experiences with the wonderful characters and events of the story.

Some areas of the story will likely get more attention than some others. I'm a sap who enjoys her interpersonal stories with her companions and has an especially strong love for romance writing (as well as making my characters suffer). If my character, and the characters around her, don't have depth and complexity, then they're not worth writing for me. Everyone has layers upon layers and small little tidbits to them.

I apologize for the skim overs and skips as well as the MSQ summary pieces but I hope you enjoy the story regardless. I try to keep as close to lore as possible but there will be, on occasion, a touch of lore-bending and on occasion, with dialogue, a bit of rearranging placement and/or adding in elements to better express my character in the moment. You have been informed.
