CHAPTER TWO: FIRST DAY AND PHYSICAL TESTS
Summary: In a world where 80% of the population are born with an ability called quirks, Ken Suzuki is born with not just one quirk but six quirks. Now he sets out to become one of the greatest heroes in history. And become a symbol. The symbol of Hope.
Chapter 2: First Day and Combat Training
UA High School, Musutafu
It wasn't long before the month of April started and also the start of the academic year in one of the most prestigious Hero schools in the world. At the entrance exams, only the top fourty examinees were allowed into the hero courses with others joining other courses. These fourty students are then divided into two classes of twenty.
Ken, in his UA uniform with the blazer on and his scarf around his neck, was walking through the halls of the school in search of his class, having learned that he was going to be in the Class 1A. He had an excited grin on his face as he searched for his classroom. He was a bit nervous though.
Finally he was able to find the class 1A and he was a bit surprised at how large the door was. 'Man, that's one huge door.' He thought before hearing someone running down the hallway. He turns around and sees that it was Izumi, the girl he had met at the entrance exams, and she looked like she was looking for something. He had hoped she would get in and turns out she did.
"Hey Izumi!" He calls out to her while waving and the girl is surprised to see the boy who had a smile on his face. "Suzuki?" She says as she walks up to the boy only to sigh in relief when she sees he is standing in front of the door to class 1A, the class she was looking for. She walks up to the boy and smiles at him. "Morning Suzuki!"
"Morning. Glad to see you passed." Ken says. "Anyway, what class are you in?" He asks hoping she was in the same class as him. He really liked the girl though he didn't really know her. She just seemed like a nice person.
"Well, I got Class 1A. And seeing as you're standing at the class's entrance, then you're in the same class as well." She says a bit happy that the boy was in the same class as well. Ken just grins. "Awesome. We're in the same class. Let's go in then." He says as he goes to slide open the door.
'That's a huge door!' Izumi thought in shock having just realized how large the door is. She then remembered that Allmight was going to be a teacher here and the man was tall. 'It's probably for people that have quirks that let them grow bigger or large teachers.' She then began to wonder the kind of people she would meet in the class. She was secretly hoping Bakugo wasn't going to be in it as well as that glasses kid.
Sadly, it was not to be.
As Ken slides open the door, the two were immediately met with loud yelling from the classroom.
"Take your feet off the desk this instant!" A familiar voice yells out and the two see it was the boy who had singled Izumi out twice during the entrance exams. The glasses wearing kid. He was yelling at another familiar face to Izumi, Katsuki Bakugo, who had both his feet on the table. Izumi groans when she sees the two people she didn't want in her class.
"Eh?!" Bakugo exclaims as he looks at the boy.
"Today's the first day and you're already disrespecting the school!" The boy says with a hint of annoyance. "What are you? Some kind of cretin!" He adds angering the spiky blonde boy.
"The fuck are you four eyes?! Did your old school put a stick up your ass or were you just born with it?!" Bakugo says tauntingly.
"W-what? Why you…" The boy stops himself before taking a breath. "Okay then, let's start over. The name is Tenya Iida from Somei Private Academy." The now identified Iida introduces himself.
"So you're from Somei huh? You think you're so much better than me." Bakugo states before grinning. "I'm gonna have so much fun tearing you a new one four eyes!" He adds shocking Iida.
'That Iida guy seems like a guy that sticks to the rules too much and that Bakugo seems like a prick! We'll definitely not get along." Ken thought.
The two boys continue to argue before they caught sight of Ken and Izumi who were still standing by the door. "It's her." He says and immediately, all eyes were on the two, mostly Izumi who was a bit nervous and uncomfortable at all eyes being on her.
"H-hi!" She says nervously.
"Yo." Ken says not the least bothered by how everyone was looking at him.
"Well good morning to you both!" Iida says walking up to them. "My name is Tenya Iida from S-"
"Yeah Somei Academy, we heard you from before." Ken says. "The name's Ken Suzuki."
"I-Izumi Midoriya."
"Midoriya huh. You must have realized that there was something more to the practical exams didn't you?" Iida asks, remembering how she destroyed the zero pointer with a punch to save that girl.
"Eh?" Izumi says in confusion as she didn't get what he meant.
"You're quite perceptive. I admit I misjudged you. You're far more superior than me." He says as he bows and Ken and Izumi sweatdrop.
"I'm lost here. What's he talking about?" Ken asks staring at Iida, not knowing what he was talking about.
"He must be talking about how I punched the zero pointer to save another examinee. It got me rescue points and that's how I got in." Izumi replies remembering the letter.
"You too?!" Ken says a bit surprised. "I also got some rescue points during the exams. I was surprised to know there was something like that." Ken states before remembering what she also said. "You beat the zero pointer with a punch. You must be super strong." He says patting her on the shoulder.
"Y-yeah…" She says nervously remembering how she ended up breaking most of her limbs after. She then looks around hoping to spot Uraraka in the class.
"Oh I recognize that messy long hair! Falling girl!" Speak of the devil. Ken, Izumi and Iida turn to face Uraraka who had just arrived in class. Ken chuckles at the name Uraraka called the greenette.
'Falling girl?' Izumi thought shocked. "Oh hey, it's nice to see you again." She says with a smile and the girl smiles back. "Me too! I never quite thanked you during the exams. Ochako Uraraka by the way." Ochaco introduces herself.
"Izumi Midoriya. And no need to thank me. I was just doing the right thing." Izumi says.
"You two met before?" Ken asks.
"Yeah, we were in the same ground and I saved her from the zero pointer. It was how I got my rescue points." Izumi replies and Ken nods his head before facing Ochaco with a smile. "Nice to meet you Uraraka. Name's Ken Suzuki by the way." He says.
Ochaco just stares at the boy in front of her, a small blush forming on her face when she sees his smile. 'Oh my. So handsome.' She then shakes her head. "Nice to meet you Suzuki. Anyway, you know what we'll be doing today. I also wonder how the teachers and our new classmates will be like." She states excitedly.
"If you came here to only make friends, then I advice you to pack and leave now." An unfamiliar voice says from behind them causing them to stiffen before turning to face the person. They were shocked when they saw it was a man with black hair that looks sleep-deprived laying in a yellow sleeping bag on the floor.
The man then begins to unzip himself as he gets on his feet before facing the students with a bored expression. "Anyway, welcome to the hero course."
'What the fuck?!' Ken thought.
'What's a homeless guy doing here?' Izumi, Ochaco, Iida and a few other students thought as they stared at the 'homeless' man.
"Alright settle down all of you." The man says and everyone gets on a seat as the man walks up to the front of the class. "Anyway, I'm your teacher, Shota Aizawa. It's a pleasure." He says but you could tell he didn't totally mean it.
'He's our teacher?' The whole class thought surprised.
"Okay I want you all to put this on." Aizawa says pulling out a PE uniform and showing the class. "And meet me outside."
Few Minutes Later…
"Alright you're all here." Aizawa says as he faces the students of class 1A who had now changed into the school's PE uniform. "Now we can begin the Quirk Apprehension Test." He adds shocking the class.
'Test?!'
"But sir, what about orientation?" Ochaco asks wondering why they weren't attending the orientation like other students in the school.
"If you wanna go, you can!" Aizawa says. "But you won't be back in this class." He adds causing the girl to gulp. "Here in this class, we don't waste time with pointless events. I get to run my class however I see fit. If you have a problem you can pack your stuff and leave."
'Man, this guy seems harsh!' Ken thought.
Aizawa then continues. "You've all been taking standardized tests but you never got to use your quirks. The country's still pretending that we're all made equal by not letting those with more power excel. Soon the Ministry of Education will learn how irrational that is." He then looks over at Ken.
"Suzuki. You showed great combat abilities and got the highest number of points in the exams." Aizawa says and all eyes were on Ken.
'He got the highest. He must have a strong quirk.' Izumi thought as she stares at the boy who was just beside her.
'So he's the one who finished on top of me!' Bakugo thought as he gritted his teeth before glaring at the boy so hard that he'd be dead if looks could kill. 'I'll make sure to show him his place.'
"What was your farthest softball throw in middle school?" Aizawa asks the boy.
"70 metres." Ken replies before catching a ball that was tossed to him by Aizawa. He looks at it before looking at the man confusingly. The man then speaks up. "Try throwing that with your quirk." He says and Ken nods before walking towards a circle. "Anything goes as long as it's in the circle."
"Gotcha teach!" Ken says as he steps into the circle. He then begins to stretch a bit before spinning his right arm. "Alright, let's do this." He says as he activates his quirk and powers up to the highest his body can handle. He then throws the ball with all his strength sending it flying with incredible speeds and causing a small shockwave as the ball flys into the distance.
"In this test, we're going to figure out your maximum capabilities. It's the only way to figure out your potential as future pros." Aizawa says as he looks into the device he was holding. "725 metres. Impressive."
This shocked the students before they began to get excited, wanting to get a chance to show off their powers.
'I may have used a bit too much power in that throw.' Ken thought as he felt the strain on his right arm as he walked towards the class.
"Oh man. This is gonna be fun!" A pink haired girl with pink skin and horns with somewhat square eyes and a black sclera and yellow irises says excitedly.
"So this all looks fun to you huh?" Aizawa questions and the class look at him in silence. "You have three years to become the best pro heroes you can be. This isn't gonna be all fun and games." He states. "Today, you all will participate in eight physcial tests to figure out your potential. Whoever comes up last place has none and will therefore be expelled immediately."
His words shock the whole class.
'Crap! Expulsion on the first day?!' Izumi thought. She still had no idea how the access OFA without hurting herself, so she was worried how she would perform in these tests.
"We teachers are allowed to do what we want with our students. So I welcome you all…" Aizawa says as he raises his hair and gains a scary look on his face. "...to UA's hero course."
'I'm extremely nervous but at the same time pumped up.' Ken thought before looking over at Izumi and Ochaco who were both extremely nervous. He then pats the two on their shoulders and gives them smile. "Don't worry you two, I'm sure we'll be fine."
The two stare at the boy before nodding their heads, gaining determined looks on their faces.
"Alright, let's begin…" Aizawa says.
Later…
The students were back at the PE grounds after going through seven different physical tests that required them to use their quirks. For the most part, some of them were performing rather well. The likes of Bakugo, Iida and a few others were able to perform well while Ken was able to succeed in all the tests except the side jumps test which a lot of them performed badly in. But not everyone was performing, and a certain greenette was part of them.
Izumi was having a hard time in most of the tests due to her inability to use OFA. Well not that she can't access it, but she can't do that without breaking her body. This was something that Ken and Aizawa and a few others that were in the same ground as her in the exams noticed and both were wondering why she hadn't used her quirk though Aizawa had an idea.
"Dammit! What am I gonna do?" Izumi mutters. "This is the last test and if I don't do something, then I'm definitely going home."
Currently, it was Uraraka's turn in the current and last test they were doing. The ball toss. With her Zero Gravity quirk, she made the ball float out of orbit, earning her the score infinity, much to everyone's shock.
Now it was Izumi's turn and she was a nervous wreck.
"Midoriya will be heading home if she doesn't step up now." Iida states.
"Yeah. Although I wonder why she hasn't used her quirk yet. She'd have blown past all of us." Ochaco says wondering why the girl wasn't using her quirk yet. Bakugo, upon hearing this was confused as he remembered Izumi didn't have a quirk.
"What are you talking about?! Deku doesn't have a quirk and she'll definitely be going home." He says.
"What are you talking about?! She clearly has a quirk!" Iida says confused about Bakugo's statement.
"Yeah! It's so powerful. She was able to punch that zero pointer like it was nothing." Ochaco says remembering how the girl had jumped pretty high and fast and punched down the giant robot with ease. Bakugo upon hearing this was confused before he then growls angrily.
Meanwhile, Ken was surprised when he heard Bakugo's statement and began to put things together. 'Wait he said she was quirkless but from what Iida, Uraraka and Izumi have told me, she clearly has one, a powerful one at that. Did she just recently gain her quirk? That would explain why she hasn't used it as it probably hurts her.'
None of them noticing that Allmight was peaking from a corner to see how his successor was doing so far. The girl was standing in the circle with the ball in hand.
'Alright, it's now or never. I have to use OFA.' She thought as she pulls her arm back, channeling the power of the quirk into it. 'Here goes.' She then throws the ball with all her might, but to her shock and horror, it didn't even go that far.
"W-what? What's going on?" She says in confusion as she was sure she was using OFA this time.
"I erased your quirk." Aizawa says as he walks up to her with his eyes glowing a bright red, his hair standing and his wrapping clothes floating around his neck and his statement shocks the class.
"Erased my quirk? Wait, I know you, you're the Erasure Hero: Eraserhead. The hero who can erase quirks by looking at them." Izumi states finally recognizing the man who didn't look impressed by it.
'That's Eraserhead? Not what I was expecting.' Ken thought having also heard of the underground hero.
"The judges were being irrational when they allowed someone like you to enroll in this school." Aizawa says shocking the girl.
"Wha-"
"What were you trying to pull? You were going to use your quirk and break your bones, relying on someone to save your then useless body." He says as he glares at the girl with his glowing red eyes.
"Wait, that wasn't what I was gonna do." Izumi defends herself but the man was having none of it.
"Even so, you'd be nothing more than a liability in battle, you have the same reckless passion as an overzealous hero I know. A man who saved thousands and became a living legend but even with a drive like that, it's useless when all you can do is throw a punch and then break down." The pro hero states and Izumi looks down knowing the man was right. Aizawa's eyes then stop glowing as the man sighs. "I've returned your impractical quirk, take your final throw." He says as he walks back to his spot.
'Shit, I knew this was gonna happen.' Allmight thought.
Izumi just takes a breath before getting herself ready to take her throw. 'Alright, only one shot. I have to nail this.' She says as she pulls her arm back, ready to throw the ball. 'He was right, I still can't control my power, but I won't give up, I know I still have a lot to learn and I have to work way harder than everyone else.' She then began to move the ball towards her finger tips, something Aizawa, Allmight and Ken caught onto.
'What is she planning?' Aizawa thought with narrowed eyes. Then to his surprise, the girl channels OFA through her index finger as she throws the ball sending it flying at a faster speed than Ken's throw as it sails into the distance also causing a small shockwave. Izumi grits her teeth in pain but it was bearable.
"Hey sensei." She says as she grins facing the man. "I'm still standing."
"This kid…" Aizawa mutters with a creepy smile as he was impressed by the display. He then checks the score and is surprised to see a score of 950 metres.
'Nice thinking Izumi.' Ken thought with a grin.
Later…
After everyone else had taken their turns in the ball toss and the tests were over, they all gathered together as they stood in front of Aizawa who like always, had a bored expression on his face.
"Alright, I'm gonna reveal the results right here. I don't really have the time to say the individual scores so here it is." He says revealing it to the whole class.

Ken had a grin on his face when he saw he had gotten first place. Bakugo looked like he was gonna explode as he hadn't gotten first. The others looked like they were okay with their positions except for Izumi who looked like he was gonna faint on the spot.
She had failed and now she was gonna go back home.
Fortunately for her, luck was on her side.
"Also I was lying, I wasn't going to expel anybody." Aizawa says surprising everyone. Aizawa had a small smile looking at their reactions. "It was just a rational deception to make you all give it your all."
"Eh?" The class exclaim.
"I'm surprised no one figured it out. I thought it was obvious. Guess I should have said something." Momo Yayaorozu, who had gotten second place with her Creation quirk says having figured it out a while ago.
'Yeah, you should have.' The class thought.
'The guy looked freaking serious to me though. And something tells me he would have done just that.' Ken thought.
"Okay, we're done for the day, you can pick up the syllabus at class and head home." Aizawa says as he walks away from the class before he turns a corner, only to run into Allmight.
"Allmight? So you were watching huh?"
"Aizawa you liar. A 'rational deception', that's cute but you ain't fooling me. April Fool's day was just last week. I read your file, you've expelled a whole class of freshmen before and you have no problem doing it again. The fact you didn't means you also saw it didn't you. The potential young Midoriya has." Allmight says.
"Hm? What's this about Allmight? You talk like you've been in her corner for a while now. You're a teacher, isn't it a bit early to play favourites." Aizawa says boredly and Allmight then realizes his mistake.
'Crap, I should be more careful when talking about young Midoriya.' He thought. He hadn't told anyone about his relationship with the girl as that would require revealing the truth about OFA which he wasn't planning on ever doing.
"But I will admit…" Aizawa says seriously. "The girl doesn't have zero potential, if not she'd be on her way home already. It's cruel to let someone keep on trying to do something that they'd never be able to achieve." He says as he walks away.
"Wow Aizawa…" Allmight says before reverting into his true form. "In your way, you're a nice man. But it's clear we don't really get along."
After School…
"Hey, Izumi wait up!" Ken says as he runs towards the girl who was already heading for the exit. Said girl turns and faces the boy. "It's a good thing I found you before you left."
"You were looking for me?" She says surprised.
"Yeah. Anyway I just wanna say…" Ken starts. "That throw you did back at the ball toss was awesome! I never thought there was someone that could throw a ball that far. I'm impressed." He says and the girl gets a bit flustered from the praise, not being used to it and it was coming from him.
"T-thanks." She thanks the boy.
"But still, I was wondering why you weren't using your quirk throughout the tests and when I heard that Bakugo kid say you were quirkless, I got a bit suspicious." He says as he stares at her seriously. The girl gulps slightly. "You were quirkless weren't you?" It was more of a statement than a question.
"Y-yeah. I was…" She says looking at down a bit. "I only got my quirk recently and I have no control over it. It's either zero or hundred and I can't use a hundred without breaking down." She says looking at her right hand.
Ken was surprised. "So you were quirkless?" The girl nods. "Wow, that just makes me respect you more. The fact that you still didn't give up on your dreams on being a hero and then you tried to save someone during that incident ten months ago without any power." He says before smiling at the girl with a thumbs up. "You're okay in my book, Izumi."
The girl was shocked at what the boy said and then she begins to blush from the boy's praise. Ken notices it and decides to ask. "Hey, Izumi you okay? You're kinda red."
"W-wha...I-i-i'm g-g-good. Yeah I'm fine." She stutters out before composing herself, though she still had a small blush on her face.
Ken just shrugs before asking. "Are you heading to the station?" She nods. "Well, I'm heading there too. We can go together." He says as was about to start walking towards the exit when another voice calls out to them.
"Hey guys wait up!" Ochaco shouts as she runs towards them.
"Oh hey Uraraka." Ken and Izumi say in unison just as Iida also walks up to them. "You all are heading to the station right? Well let's go together then." The glasses boy say and the other three nod and leave the school while conversing about what they had done today and a few other random stuff.

Ken Suzuki's Quirks So Far
- Power-Up: Grants him super human strength and speed. It's a powerful enhancer quirk that once he uses more power than his body than handle, he begins to feel serious strain or his bones break. (A/N: Currently as strong as a 15% OFA Deku)
The rest of his quirks are unknown for now.

Explosive Battle; Ken Vs. Bakugo
And that's all for this chapter, this chapter took a two days to write because my mum isn't feeling too well and I had to help take care of her so I didn't have as much time to write. Add to the fact that my dad has travelled and my brothers are at times, annoying.
Anyway, next chapter, will be the start of the combat training and the fight between the super powered Ken and explosive pomeranian Bakugo. I wanted to make it an Izumi vs. Bakugo fight, but that would just be like the Izuku vs. Bakugo canon fight and there was no way for me to write a Ken vs. Izumi fight because he would win easily, given she has can't access her power without breaking her bones.
