A/N: This chapter will adapt a scene from the prequel episodes in Code Lyoko 'X.A.N.A. Awakens' involving Odd and Ulrich fighting Bloks.
In the beginning of chapter, the names of teachers from Code Lyoko will be featured. You'll see (;
Sector 5's violent shakings caused the townspeople to run around in terror. The shakings aren't the only thing that causes them to scream, it is the things that rise from the grounds. Their appearances are distinctive due to the structures of their body. They had a strange symbol of an eye that can fire lasers. These lasers are what the townspeople try to run from. They also run from the buildings collapsing. Unfortunately some had fallen and crushed many of them, instantly ending their lives. The poor men, women and children died. The soldiers battled these unknown species, but were quickly defeated. Apocalypse is spreading in Sector 5.
"What do we do now?"
"They're everywhere!"
"Four-legged monster that has its legs in the shape of a scythe, a walking-block, moving rocks, what has Lyoko become?"
The last of the townspeople alive ended up at the gates, their only way to leaving Sector 5. Several guards stood their way, guarding the exit as though they want the townspeople to remain in Sector 5 where they will fall prey to the wrath of monsters. But this isn't the reason, the soldiers were given a very strict order not to let anyone come through the gates. Everyone was panicking, firing blazes of fear. The soldiers sympathised for them, but an order was an order.
In the office, King Delmas speaks with the members of the government about the invasion in Sector 5.
"If we let the townspeople out of Sector 5, the monsters will follow. We can't afford to spread the invasion over Lyoko.", Aurille said.
"The cost will be high though.", Meyer said.
"Their sacrifices are for the good of every life form in this planet.", Aurille said.
"So you're gonna let thousands perish, is this what we call ourselves heroes who will ensure no deaths will occur?", Hertz asked challengingly.
"Bestill, Hertz. It is the most hardest decision we've ever had to make.", Roderich said.
"And what if it doesn't matter, what if these creatures are appearing all over Lyoko, does it matter keeping them in lockdown?", Hertz said.
King Delmas feels he should let the inhabitants of Sector 5 out. They don't deserve to die, they are victims of the fate of Sector 5's destruction.
"Since we're pondering on who gets to live, who gets to die, I say we consider a third option"
King Delmas looks at the one who spoke just now. Jim Morales, the only member who has always managed to find ways to resolve the extremity of crisis. "Very well, Jim Morales, I would like to hear what your 'third option' is.", King Delmas said.
"For years I have trained my cadets to be decent soldiers to face the toughest things residing in Lyoko. There are certain cadets that have peaked my interest they could form a new order, all I need is a personal friend who will be their leader.", Jim Morales said
Monsters continued killing the inhabitants as more buildings are either destroyed or collapsed.
Ulrich arrived in the scene. The monsters he encounters are block-shaped creatures. They all had the symbol of the eye. The symbol is recognisable. Ulrich has seen it through the history books. XANA has returned, Ulrich certainly thought with an unpleasant look. There are three block-shaped monsters, and they've already surrounded the swordsmen as he drew his sabers.
One block-shaped figure fires a laser at Ulrich. Ulrich immediately dodges the laser. Another laser was fired from another monster. Ulrich deflected it with his saber. "Super-sprint!", Ulrich called out loudly. In super-speed, Ulrich charged at the previous firer. He leaps, and lands on the top of the moving-block's surface. He plunges his saber at the surface. The monster wasn't killed, much to Ulrich's surprise. He jumped away from the monster's head.
Ulrich returned to his stance while pondering How do you kill these things? He slayed monsters more powerful than a bunch of living blocks, but not being able to kill these things makes it frustrating.
All three of them have circled Ulrich again.
"Hey! Bloks! Over here!"
Ulrich turned, seeing Odd running toward the creatures he faces. "No, Della Robbia. Run!", he shouted. Odd didn't listen.
"Laser arrow!", Odd shouted, firing small projectiles from each finger. The arrows hit the the sentient blocks but they aren't killed. He charges at one block while avoiding every laser. He finally reaches one, and bulldozes that block. As the that monster fell, Odd stayed near Ulrich's side to continue the battle.
"Should've run, not fight.", Ulrich reprimanded.
"I prefer fighting blocks.", Odd said.
"Your funeral.", Ulrich said.
"Not happening.", Odd said.
Ulrich notices lasers firing toward him. He uses his saber to shield himself thanks to his enhanced reflexes.
Odd tries firing the creature's legs. The creature staggered for a moment but ignored it. He fired a laser at Odd. The laser hit Odd's shoulder, causing him to fly down.
"Della Robbia!", Ulrich exclaimed. His eyes opened widely, remembering this is the same exact view he had when he saw his comrades die. No! It won't happen again! Ulrich had a fixed gaze at the sentient-block who wounded Odd. With super-speed, he threw his body in the air toward the monster's eye. His saber pierces the eye which releases a splatter of black-colored blood. Ulrich realised he killed the monster. Now he knows this monster's weakness. It's the eyes.
A laser almost reached Ulrich's back but he avoided it in time. He evaded a few more lasers before jumping in the air. He threw his two sabers at the last two cubic-structured monsters. The sabers stabbed each monster's eye, killing them in the process.
Ulrich leaned near Odd's side, examining his wound.
Odd groans. "How bad is it?", he asked.
"You'll live.", Ulrich reassured him.
"That's not helping.", Odd said.
"You wanted an honest answer.", Ulrich said with a serious face. Ulrich carries Odd, and leaves with his super-speed ability.
What Ulrich didn't see after leaving the area is a pink orb watching Ulrich's departure with Odd.
In another place, Yumi drags William away from the fight. She and William tried to fight a horde of small monsters. There were so many, William was wounded to the point he was unable to walk with his own two feet.
"Blast those tiny creatures.", William said in annoyance. He failed to save the inhabitants. They died because William was wounded by a large army of pests.
Why am I afraid?", Yumi thought. She is trembling in fear over the sight of many corpses, but she shouldn't. She's supposed to be strong, not weak. If this keeps up, Yumi will die very swiftly the moment she faces those monsters.
A yellow blur was perceived by Yumi. Yumi wondered what that was. The yellow blur returned, appearing as a brunette with a light beard. He is carrying someone who is wounded. Him and the wounded cadet are familiar. Yumi saw them countless times in class. "You're Ulrich.", she said.
As Ulrich came near Yumi, he sees William is wounded. "What's the situation, Ishiyama?", he enquired.
"I've got a cadet that's wounded that's in serious need of medical attention.", Yumi said.
"Due to the problems in Sector 5, I've been unable to get in contact with a medic.", Ulrich said. "I spent the past 10 minutes searching for any survivors. Up to now, you are the only two people I found still alive.".
"Wait... they're dead!", Yumi exclaimed in shock.
Ulrich sadly nodded.
Yumi was sad hearing this. How could this day turn from a normal, boring day to tragedy?
Ulrich looked above, Yumi's shoulder. There is a house that hasn't collapsed. "That building hasn't fallen, we'll take cover in there.", he said. As he walks toward the building, he notices Yumi hasn't taken William. "Ishiyama!".
Yumi's mind returns to the present as she realised she was standing, staring into space. She heard Ulrich wanted the cadets to get inside the building.
After Yumi took William, they all entered the building, taking cover there.
William was placed gently near the rocks as Yumi watches Ulrich placing Odd gently next to Yumi's side.
"Isn't that the new cadet who skipped an year?", Yumi asked Ulrich.
"Yes.", Ulrich said. Since he is dressed in brown robes, Ulrich covered himself with the brown robes as he makes his way out of the building. "Keep an eye on Dunbar and Della Robbia.".
"Where are you going?" Yumi said.
"Someone who can help us get out of Sector 5.", Ulrich answered.
"You're leaving us?", Yumi cried out in surprise.
"Someone needs to reach out", Ulrich said. "they must be convinced we won't survive staying in Sector 5.".
"They might've hightailed and ran.", Yumi surmised.
"Not everyone.", Ulrich said, alluding to someone within the government that was Ulrich's only friend that is still alive.
