Lust opens the door to bookshop, it had been a while since she had entered one and she was rather eager to read a good book, many would take her as the kind to read books about horror however she was a true romantic at heart and always grabbed the romance novels; not sappy ones no she found those rather annoying, she preferred dark romances like the ones about mafia bosses which had a tinge of mystery in them. Gluttony of course was busy consuming the pages of a cookbook, one would wish I was joking as the narrator however Gluttony was actually swallowing the pages whole, one may wonder how he did not end up with paper cuts all over his throat, I would blame it on the fact that he is a Homunculus; he either heals too quickly for it to bother him or his throat just cannot be damaged by something so insignificant or minuscule. Greed on other hand could not decide on what book he wanted, instead he continued to grab book after book after book and placing them on the till counter waiting to pay for them, with the sins luck, they would have a library of their own wherein it was filled with all the books which Greed had grabbed from the shelves and purchased for himself. Wrath found themselves in the comic book section, tearing through pages as they tried to find a graphic novel that satisfied their bloodlust. Envy carried a notebook which he filled as he skimmed the pages of various books desperately wanting to improve their writing style for they were envious that so many authors had gotten a book published whilst his stories of kittens snuggling in baskets never reached the shelves nonetheless a magazine. Sloth had barely fit through the door and had difficulty grabbing books due to the lactic acid buildup in his arms and legs, Lust had recommended that he try yoga before exercising but alas Sloth was far too focused on finishing tasks quickly so that he may longe on the sofa after. One may wonder where the bookseller was while some of the sins shopped, one irritated customers, and two demolished the merchandise. Only one bookseller was working that day and unfortunately they had found themselves in the midst of a conversation with none other than Pride, and Pride was unrelenting. Lust had cautioned him not to pick a fight while shopping today, it had been a while since she purchased her last romance novel; so long in fact that Fabio no longer posed on the covers of the novels; a sight which would elicit a chuckle from her lips. And although she could just count on Greed purchasing the whole store and every preorder of book known to man, she much rather preferred selecting a book for herself. She made her way for the till with a book ready to pay.
"Pride" she purred "If you would be so kind as to allow me speak to the clerk so that I may purchase this book that would be lovely."
"Lust if you cannot see I am having a conversation here, one which would not interest you."
"Oh really, pray tell?"
"We are discussing works of fiction which I think I could write so much better!" Pride bunches his fists.
"Pride has it occurred to you that if you think you could write a book better, nobody is stopping you." She puts her book on the counter, pushing Greed's books to the side while placing her hands in her hips "Now do not disturb the shopkeep, I would like to purchase my romance novel!"
Envy looks over Lust's shoulder curious "No Fabio on the cover, has it been that long?"
"Yes it has and thank goodness I wouldn't have to hear one of your rants about his muscles or Pride's for that matter." She pulls her wallet out "Are we all done here?"
Gluttony lifts his head up from the third cookbook which he had torn the pages out of to eat, Wrath from the tenth comic book which he has torn up, and Sloth walks to the till carrying a book on yoga poses.
"Smart" Lust says as she glanced over his shoulder. "I'll also take the books that those two demolished, I apologize for the mess that they made."
"It's alright" says the clerk scratching his head awkwardly and chuckling before ringing up the items. "Anything else?"
"No nothing else thank you" Lust pays for the items and calls Gluttony and Wrath over so that they may help agreed carry their new collection of books, while they leave the store Lust chastises them for destroying so many books in the store.
"Gluttony do the pages actually taste different between the recipes?"
"No."
"Then why do you consume the pages" she huffs pressing her novel to her chest.
"I don't know, I thought they'd taste good and I got hungry."
The sins continue their walk down the block to their homes with their books in hand, when they arrive they empty their hoard and Lust sits on the sofa ready to read her book.
"Lust"
"What is it Greed?"
"I got something for you" he hides a book behind his back.
"Let me see"
Greed reveals the book showing Lust a romance novel with Fabio on the cover.
"How did you find this?"
"It was in the clearance section, I remember you used to live reading Fabio novels do had to grab it for you." Lust grabs the book from his hand, placed her other novel on the counter and begins to read the novel from her younger Homunculus brother while he goes through his stack of books finding the others which he purchased for his siblings.
