Chapter 2
Geto followed his instincts, moving towards the source of the strange energy he sensed. He knows it's definitely not natural curse energy or one that comes from a cursed object, but his intuition tells him it will provide a clue. 'It's not just curse users and cursed spirits you'll encounter, you'll encounter a variety of other races of supernatural beings that can't be found in the rest of Japan. Stay alert and don't let your guard down!' The important message from Principal Yaga before they departed, rang in his head, about the new things they would encounter that were far different from the world of jujutsu.
"THUNK!"
"Huh...?" Geto accidentally hit something when he was about to turn. He jerked and looked at the two people - if one of them counted - that he had bumped into. One of them was a girl younger than Geto, her hair long and blonde in color. She was wearing a short-sleeved orange t-shirt and jeans. The other was a young man who wore a similar t-shirt and had the horns and lower body of a goat.
"Aaw, it feels like I hit a wall" said the blonde woman, "Are you okay Grover?"
"I've been in worse, Annabeth." The goat-legged man, Grover shook his head and replied.
"What in the world are you?" Annabeth and Grover raised their heads and looked at who they had just bumped into. They saw a teenage guy with a peculiar appearance, especially his hairstyle, in front of them. Judging from the way he stood and the slightly magical energy she felt, Annabeth concluded that this guy didn't seem to be a normal person and maybe one of the demigod. Annabeth tried to find a suitable word while Grover could only remain silent and slightly panicked as he felt Geto's intimidating aura.
"ROOOAAAR!"
Before Geto can get an answer, a monster approaches the three of them. It has a body like a combination of man and bull, a Minotaur. Annabeth quickly stands up and helps Grover, then turns to Geto, "Look, I know this seems strange and absurd, but now we have to run. I promise once the three of us are gone, I'll explain what's going on."
Instead of being panicked and confused, Geto calmly tried to understand the situation and he knows what to do. Geto passed by Annabeth and Grover leaving them confused as to what he was going to do. "Hey! What are you going to do - woah" Annabeth was trying to warn the young sorcerer but was speechless when she felt Geto's energy start to overflow. To ordinary people, Geto only looked like he was assuming a fighting stance, but to those who are able to see the supernatural, Geto's entire body looked like it was shrouded in blue flames.
The minotaur, who spotted the three of them, took a stance and lunged towards them. Seeing the rapidly approaching Minotaur, Geto instead ran straight toward the monster. The monster swung it's right hand to crush the young sorcerer, but Geto managed to dodge and retaliated by kicking the minotaur hard in the shin. Geto's powerful kick made the Minotaur roar in pain and lose its balance. Seeing an opportunity, Geto clenched his fist and swung a curse-fueled punch at the monster's abdomen, knocking it several feet off it's previous position.
Intending to finish it off immediately, Geto activated his curse technique - Cursed Spirit Manipulation - and sent out hundreds of red centipedes from his hand like a torrent. The poor monster could only howl in pain as it was eaten alive by Geto's curse. Annabeth and Grover, who had been watching, were left with their jaws dropped at the display of power from the stranger they just accidentally met.
"So, what were you trying to say?" Geto asked as he walked towards Annabeth and Grover.
"Are you a demigod?" Annabeth replied.
"Excuse me...?" Geto's response
"GRR..."
Unfortunately the battle wasn't over yet, because from behind the tree appeared two new monsters with large physique and with one eye. "Umm, guys it looks like we can continue the conversation later." Grover suggested.
"Naaahh, we can exchange our names for now. I am first, Suguru Geto." Geto introduced himself while activating his curse technique.
"Annabeth Chase" Annabeth took out a bronze knife.
"Grover Underwood. May I ask why your scent is so eerie?" Grover asked Geto while preparing himself.
*Meanwhile in another location.
Percy was overwhelmed by the strange monster that was in front of him. At first, Percy thought that it was an ordinary monster that he had already defeated many times, but this creature turned out to be much different from other monsters, especially the color of its blood. All the monsters that he and his friends had encountered had golden blood, but this one had purple blood when injured. Percy and his friends had heard rumors from other cabin members at his camp about strange monsters that had been popping up lately. They have much different characteristics, especially the color of their blood.
He initially dismissed it as a joke, but changed his mind when Percy heard from Chiron that some campers had been attacked by these creatures and nearly lost their lives. Chiron then decides for Percy and his friends - Annabeth and Grover - to conduct an investigation around the forests of Long Island. Until one of the strange creatures confronts them, plus a minotaur and two cyclops suddenly appear, forcing the three of them to split up. And now Percy is facing off one-on-one with this new monster.
This creature is about 8 feet tall. Its towering body is covered in a brown cloth that is shabby and torn. The arms and legs are very thin as if there is no flesh at all, only bones covered with skin, but they are able to support the body very well. Each hand had sharp claws as long as a kitchen knife. Its head was just a human skull covered in a layer of rotting and peeling flesh. A pair of deer antlers grew from the side of its head. The eyes were glowing blood red and all the teeth were sharp and pointed. For Percy, this creature would fit better in a slasher horror movie.
Percy brandished his sword and prepared to continue his fight with this monster. What troubled him was the monster's ability to teleport and attack Percy from a blind spot. Although he was now getting used to it, a little carelessness could prove fatal if the creature's attack struck his weak spot.
As Percy expected, the monster teleported and attacked from behind. Percy quickly parried the strike, but the creature had already guessed that its assault would be parried, deciding to go for a chain attack. The demigod kept trying to parry the attacks while countering, the two of them kept exchanging blows at a rapid pace. Eventually, Percy found an opening and managed to slash at the monster's chest. Unfortunately his slash wasn't enough, the monster countered with a swing of its claws that Percy could block with his sword. But the power of the monster's swing was able to make Percy fall back several feet.
The monster lunged at Percy again, but while it was in the air, a dark-clad figure suddenly appeared and kicked the monster in the ribs. The kick was so powerful that it sent the monster flying, crashing into and knocking down a small tree.
"What the heck?" Percy was surprised by the appearance of this new person who easily knocked out the monster. This new fellow looked a year older than him. Dressed in all black. He had snow-white hair and strangely wore sunglasses at night. Percy wondered if this guy was on his side.
"Hey man! You okay?" Asked Gojo "I noticed that you were a bit troubled earlier, so if you don't mind I'd like to take over.
"Huh, take over?" Percy replied "Don't wanna seem disrespectful, but do you know what that thing was that you just kicked?"
"Of course! It was a grade one curse spirit!"
"Curse spirit?"
"Grrr..."
The cursed spirit was still trying to get up despite being hit by Gojo's deadly kick. The cloth that had been covering the creature's upper body was shredded, exposing its nearly crushed chest. Its right hand was broken and its left leg was slightly limping. Purple blood flowed from its wounds and mouth. Weirdly, this monster showed no reaction of pain, as if it could not feel any.
"Hmm, you're pretty stubborn." The creature tilted its head before teleporting and attacking Gojo from behind. Gojo, who already knew the curse spirit's attack pattern, smoothly dodged its claw swings. Gojo then very quickly grabbed the monster's left hand and performed a judo throw. The cursed spirit still rose to its feet and tried to strike back at Gojo, but the sorcerer didn't give it any chance. Gojo quickly closed the distance and launched a flurry of punches. The jujutsu sorcerer ended his assault by pulling both of the creature's horns toward him, then drove his knee into the monster's face. The cursed spirit's head was crushed and its body fell lifeless. A few seconds later the creature's body vaporized and disappeared completely.
"Who and what are you exactly?" Asked Percy in disbelief. He spent more than 10 minutes fighting with this creature, but the stranger managed to defeat it in less than 5 minutes. In all the time Percy had spent at Camp Half blood, he had never encountered another human with the physical strength and fighting ability of this guy. He was convinced that this person could be a fellow demigod blessed with unique powers by the gods. But the answer he got did not match some of his expectations.
"My name is Satoru Gojo. A sorcerer from the Tokyo Jujutsu Technical School, who came all the way here on a mission." Gojo replied with a toothy smile.
