Ratchet grunted as he dove behind a gathering of trees, hearing the multitude of gun fire behind him, he saw many others firing from behind the treeline they were at. Ratchet growled, turning the radio earpiece he had on and calling for assistance, hearing Razor and Clark answer his commands. Ratchet looked at Clank and nodded, turning around and letting Clank get on his back to act as his backpack as usual. He looked around, frowning in sadness as he saw the burning fires and destroyed trees, even the glowing animals were running away from what seemed to be a warzone on this planet. 'How did we let this happen?' Ratchet thought, looking at the ring on his finger. Him and Rilena were married, he had moved onto Aurora and pretty much called it his own home. Nefarious hadn't been heard from in years. The Progg siblings were in jail. Drek had believed to have been dead...but…

A lot had happened.

After Ratchet had defeated several enemies over the years, making sure to always keep in contact with Rilena after he first met her when he was trying to stop Drek, they decided to move their relationship along. Over the years after fighting Nefarious, losing Clank and meeting Azimuth, then reuniting with Clank, and more enemies; Ratchet asked Rilena to marry him. She had agreed and they have kept a smooth relationship since. They even brought the Lombaxes back from their dimension together with the Fenrik race.

A few months ago, Rilena had told him she was pregnant, Ratchet was shocked! Both of them were twenty-three years old, they were finally having kids! She was on her last month, she was due in a few weeks now; from what everyone knew she was going to be having twins. Somewhat a surprise considering Leopardis were practically infertile but they all said it had something to do with Ratchet's DNA. Six months ago, they got word that the Blarg had reappeared and that Drek was somehow back...yet the tyrannical-like creep was half robot and half Blarg. Ratchet and Clank hadn't cared. With Rilena expecting, she was ordered off the battlefield but she still commanded the Rebels from basecamp. When other planets were getting attacked, Rilena and Ratchet moved back to Aurora where Rilena could be looked after properly since they got the Rebels back together.

The Galactic Ranger's were also here on Aurora, Qwark led them since Ratchet was leading the Rebels on Aurora in Rilena's place. Clark and Razor also had their own units, helping command the HUGE force the Rebels had become. General Zigas was still protecting them from space but it seemed Drek was determined to destroy the planet with the large number of Blarg that was simply on the planet. "GAH!" Ratchet gasped as several bullets, laser and metal alike flew past his tree or slammed into it. He rolled away from the tree, contacting the others again. "Guys! What's the status?!" Ratchet demanded, turning around and shooting several Blarg that tried to chase him. Clank used the chopper advancement he had to help Ratchet get into a tree, jumping from tree to tree.

"We're being pushed back! The forces are getting larger and larger and we're losing men!" Was Razor's panicked voice over the earpiece. Ratchet cursed and jumped to the ground, spun and used the Tesla Claw to shock several Blarg trying to follow him. As that didn't seem to slow them down too much, Ratchet cursed once more and continued to run, he had to reunite with his unit! He knew they would be okay but he wasn't going to chance it. As he jumped into a clearing where several Lombaxes were, as they had joined the Rebels to help defend the galaxy, he spun and used the Devastator to blow a unit of Blarg back. "Leon, what's going on?!" Ratchet asked his second-in command, who looked at Ratchet in concern.

"The others sent support to Clark's, Razor's and Qwark's units; we're losing this war Captain!" Leon said to his friend, he had several scars and burns; he wasn't fairing well. "Dammit." Ratchet hissed, only for them all the grunt as an explosion rocked the ground underneath them. 'Mines? Grenades? Drek is determined to kill us!' Ratchet thought in concern, not sure what to do. He has never been in many major wars. Yes, help others drive forces off planets, yes help the Galactic Ranger's drive off Blarg or other invaders...but a war on this scale? Never!

"We have to hold the line, otherwise we lose everything we've fought for!" Ratchet command, both to those around him and to the units through the earpiece. "ROGER!" Was the combined voice of those around him and through the earpiece. He had to win this for his wife and his kids that have yet to be born. Several Blarg broke through the clearing and bullets and laser's alike flew through the air in the clearing. As Ratchet took down a large robot, he heard Leon. "CAPTAIN!" Leon grabbed Ratchet and threw him back, before an explosion hit right where Leon was. "LEON!" Ratchet screamed in horror, green eyes wide.

Ratchet's eyes darkened, ignoring Clank's warning from his back and stood up, grabbing his other weapon, the RYNO and began to shoot at any enemy he saw. Even allies had to dodge the bullets and rockets coming from the weapon. "Ratchet, control yourself!" Clank shouted from his back, yet Ratchet ignored him. Leon was one of his best friends, someone he made second-in command of his unit; Leon was also a good friend to Rilena when they met. Ratchet jumped off a fallen log, aimed the RYNO at a large mecha-battle unit only to be grabbed and thrown toward what seemed to be a cliff. 'NO!' Ratchet thought with wide eyes, turning his head back to the battle, feeling as though this was the end. Suddenly, he felt a gust of air behind him, heard Clank's gasp and then the feeling of suction happened and everything went blue, then turned white...then he lost consciousness.

Okay, so, this story has been in production since 2016, since reimagined came out. Now, I HATED the reimagine and I'm sure the older fans do as well. (I could be wrong but me and my friends disliked it.) I understand, its a different timeline, it was meant to draw people BACK to Ratchet and Clank but I didn't like the story. There wasn't as much drama as the original, there wasn't as much developement as the original and, aside from the storyline, it wasn't NEARLY as long as the original. Even on Hard Mode the game was easy. -.-# Anyways, I did like the characters Cora, Brax and Elaris, which is why they make an appearance in this story. This follows up after my oneshots but I haven't finished posting all the oneshots. (I'm still working on one of them, so that's why.)

I finally got around to finish this story though. 2016, I got an outline made. 2017, I got a general idea of how I want the story to go. 2018, despite my illness I got everything flushed out and I began writing the story at the end of 2018. 2019 my sickness got the best of me throughout the years and it didn't help that I had writers block. Anyways, finally got the last details I wanted to flush out so you can expect for chapters to appear for the story. ^^
