Summary: While the Scions of the Seventh Dawn begin preparations to move the headquarters from Vesper Bay to Revenant's Toll in Mor Dhona, Rhea takes the chance to indulge herself in the archaeological dig led by the Sons of Saint Coinach.

With the threat of Garlemald put to rest, it was time for a well deserved break. The Scions of the Seventh Dawn, now seemingly the most popular organization in Eorzea, were being hammered with personal requests from 'benefactors' wanting tit-for-tat arrangements. As such, at the encouragement of Alphinaud, Minfilia decided to move the Scions from Vesper Bay under Ul'dah to the neutral area of Revenant's Toll in Mor Dhona.

While Rhea may have been skilled at bringing low primals, and Garleans it would seem, the menial day-to-day of administration things, however, was not her forte. She tried. Twelve preserve her, she tried, but after some bumbling that left Tataru in repeated dithers, it was suggested by Minfilia that their Warrior of Light take some much needed rest.

Not needing to be told twice, Rhea took her up on the offer.

Of course, though, 'resting' was a subjective term and Rhea lasted about a day lounging about the Waking Sands before her innate restlessness got to her. So she decided to head to Mor Dhona to see if she could be of help there with something perhaps a bit more active.

She certainly found what she was looking for.

Soon after arriving in Revenant's Toll, she met a rather obscure and somewhat outlandish man outside what was to be the new headquarters for the Scions and learned of an excavation happening nearby. Led by Rammbroes, a prominent scholar with the Sons of Saint Coinach and a member of the Circle of Knowing, she knew it had to be something momentous. Having been on many an archeological adventure with her father into excavations, she knew the organization well. If they were in Mor Dhona working on something, then perhaps they needed help and that was just the sort of rest and relaxation she needed. Nothing like helping unearth some exciting discovery to keep the blood flowing and the mind invigorated.

Heading to their encampment, though she had never met Rammbroes personally, she was excited at the chance to finally meet him. He was lauded among the field as a shrewd researcher with a cunning brain and a passion for discovery. It wasn't until she rounded the bend near the camp that she wondered if the crystalline structure rising behind the encampment was the 'doorway to untold marvels' the man in Revenant's Toll meant. For soaring overhead of the Saint Coinach's Find was the great Crystal Tower - an ancient fortress from the days of the Allagan Empire, unearthed by the Calamity that ushered in the Seventh Umbral Era five years prior. Could this be the archaeological endeavor?

Sure enough, her ponderings as to the nature of the dig were confirmed after a short conversation with Rammbroes and, surprisingly, Cid nan Garlond himself, who was assisting with the endeavor.

Excitement at the prospect coursed rampant through her veins. The thought of being able to aid in such a discovery was the stuff relic hunters and archaeologists dreamed of, and Rhea was no exception. She might be the vaunted Warrior of Light now but she would always and forever be little Rhea Baphineaux, explorer to civilizations long past. She wondered what her father would say if he knew. Since it's unearthing, he'd been relentless in watching all the publications that came out of the major archeological companies for any whisper of a word to it, not that many existed. Though Rhea had found a personal passion in other long lost civilizations, her father's passion had resided in the Allagans.

However, with her recent exposure to the Allagan Ultima Weapon, Rhea couldn't deny she was beginning to share her father's interest in them - especially now with the opportunity to study the Crystal Tower - if for no other reason than to help monitor them and make sure it remained safe. Intellectual pursuits aside, Cid had made a good point: it would not do to have unknown Allagan technology on Eorzea's doorstep and not know what it did, let alone let it fall into the wrong hands.

Especially after hearing about the defenses set up around the tower to keep people out. Rhea knew, both from her experiences with her father and as a Scion, that the stronger the defenses around something, the more important it was.

Looking up at the towering monolith, Rhea could not shake the feeling that this find was going to be one of lasting repercussions for the realm. She only hoped that whatever they found inside, if they could get inside, would be something to help the people of Eorzea.

Given what she knew of the Allagan's, however, she highly doubted it. But she was ready, nonetheless.
