Confrontation S22 E36 (Jac and Kian)
Deceit made her body shiver, she just wished things would have been better. She was happy with Kian, more so than she had been for a long time. They just kind of worked but in a weird way, there were mutual grounds there for love. They shared it, a lot. They were just a bit broken right now but she was done with him, she couldnt do it anymore and she wasnt going to put Emma through it as it was just so fragile with her father after she lost her mind.
Jac had a glass of wine in her hand, it was the only thing getting her through the evening. She didnt know what happened when she left, she had her phone off and she didnt want to communicate with the outside world. If she was honest she was surprised that no one had come to check up on her, Sacha or Fletch, mind you she liked to think that they knew better which in this case they probably did. She would no doubt snap at them, tell them to do one and if she was honest she didnt want to do that with them as she valued them as friends.
Jac found herself longing for her daughter, she was planning a trip up to Edinburgh to see her after clearing it with Jonny stating that she was on leave - he didnt need to know the finer details of why she left. So she got the photo albums out and started smiling at memories she wanted once more, she wanted to create new ones, she didnt know what had changed within her but something had. Maybe she just wanted to give her daughter what she never had as a kid, a family, people to depend on.
The sad thing was she was starting to see Kian as part of that family, he slotted in nicely and he and Emma got on like a house on fire, they'd become friends and thats how he became kind of like her not-so-step-dad. He'd take time to interact with her daughter, try and build a relationship with her, make her laugh and sometimes playfully rib her until she was a bundle of uncontrollable laughter. It caused tears to prick her eyes at the fact she would never have that again, she wasnt going to go back there, ever.
She walked into her bedroom, all of his stuff was still there, he had been staying with her and they had managed to keep their relationship a kind-of secret, only select people knowing. She liked it that way. Jac walked over and sighed before laying on her bed, the sheets smelled of him, she missed him. More than she cared to admit. She was just about to drift off unbothered by the fact she hadn't turned the lights off downstairs. There was a knock on her door, she ignored it but then it persisted so she dragged herself out of bed and headed down the stairs, she sighed and opened it before slamming it close.
"Jac please" Kian pleads, she sighs and bites her lip, she didnt want to see him again and yet here he was "At least let me get your stuff-"
"Get lost!" she snaps back at him through the door that was acting like a barrier "Just go Kian"
"Jac, come on" he tries once more, he knew she wouldnt give in, she thought about it some more before swinging the door open "Thank you-"
"Get your stuff and get out" she seethes, the more she realised in that split second that she couldnt keep his stuff forever, he would also no doubt come back for it as well which would probably irk her further
"Ok, ok" he breathes and heads up the stairs, she huffs and pours herself another glass for a bit of Dutch courage, he comes down after a short amount of time, something in Jac wanted him to take his time and stay longer but for once he was obeying her orders, she picked up her phone and turned it on and winced at the influx of messages
"I know by the way"
"Know?" he looks at her, she holds her now turned-on phone in the air, her eyebrows raised "Right...look it was just-"
"Let me guess it was hard, it was awful seeing me leave so you just injected yourself with God knows what?" she looks at him, a look of annoyance "I'm not the cure to your addiction Kian and I won't be treated like that...this is why this has to stop"
"I'm going to get better for you and I'm going to prove to you that I can do it-"
"No!" she almost shrieks, "You dont get to do that, you dont because I dont want you to do anything for me. We're over"
"Jac I love you"
"And I loved you but you burnt those bridges Kian" she snaps back at him, she was starting to get annoyed "I just want to be left alone-"
"I saw you leave"
She sighs in exasperation and pours herself another glass of wine, she couldnt be dealing with it
"And what do you want me to say?" she was getting tired of this conversation now, her snark and spark immediately dwindling
"That you'll give me another chance-"
"Remember when I told you to tell me to walk away, do you remember that? I said that because I knew this was going to happen but because I felt something for you, I dont feel a lot for people you know that, I gambled and I took that chance only for you to hurt me once more, play the action hero, risk my life. Everything I said earlier was true, I thought of my daughter. I've been shot once my some narcissistic madman and almost again, today, my some egotistical lunatic who thought he could get his way"
"I'm sorry"
"You would have been more sorry though if I bled out on the floor" she whispers "And then if that happened who would tell Emma that her mummy was shot because she was put into a dangerous situation because the man in front of her couldnt get help?"
"I am going to get help Jac, I am and I'll prove to you that-"
"I dont want you to prove anything to me Kian" she snaps, her anger flaring, it just felt like he wasnt going to listen to her "Just leave and never come back"
"Here" he places his key on the side, she looks at it, almost glaring at it was somewhat watery eyes, as if the metal would burn right through her countertop, she watches him leave before sighing
She just wished he would get better for himself not her
