The Zoo S20 E8 (Fletch and Jac)

Why on earth did she agree to this? She was stressed and not in a good way. Was it too late to cancel? Probably not as they were meant to be arriving there in ten minutes. Even driving didnt provide a distraction for her. Emma was chatting away to one of her stuffed animals in the back stating that she wanted to see every animal that was there causing a light sigh from Jac. She loved her daughter and she loved how headstrong she was but even sometimes that wasnt enough to convince her that she was good at motherhood, past times had taught her that well enough.

She immediately clocked Fletch's car and pulled her vehicle up next to it before Emma immediately unbuckled her seatbelt and got out. Jac laughed slightly as she immediately went to hug Theo, launching herself into her friend's arms - maybe Jac actually underestimated how Emma insisted she was best friends with Fletch's son. It had to be bloody Fletch.

"Hi" Jac smiles awkwardly, and Fletch grins at her

"Hey, now I dont know about you but we're going to see the lion's first-"

"Daddy always said that the lions remind him of the mummy" Emma states, her eyes staring up at Fletch who tries to suppress his laughter at her statement "I dont really see how"

"Oh, I definitely see how" Fletch smirks at Jac who glares at him before passing Emma her bag "Now as we agreed we would see the lions first-"

"Monkeys" Jac raises an eyebrow "Only because they remind me of you"

"Wow...charming!" Fletch scowls playfully, Jac smirks and flounces off to take Emma's hand, Evie stops him and smirks at her father

"That's Jac?"

"You know who Jac is...the scariest doctor in the hospital as you put it" he rolls his eyes, Evie hums and looks at her father "What's that look for?"

"You so fancy her-"

"Oh behave" he scolds his eldest daughter who nudges Mikey who shrugged and walked off leaving Fletch to pick Theo up and follow Jac who was hell-bent on taking the lead on this one

They walked around the zoo, if he was honest he was surprised to see Jac in mummy mode, it was a different outlook he saw on Jac's life, one that left him feeling surprisingly warm inside not that he would ever tell anyone that. They spoke a bit about work but kept it to a minimum as this was meant to be a fun day out for the kids not them chatting about work which they could do any time if needed. They found themselves actually just laughing and joking around until the kids insisted on going to the park so they were sitting on this bench together in the somewhat cold weather wrapped up in coats and scarves.

"This is the only problem with kids and the outdoors isnt it?" he smiles, she nods slowly watching all of the kids playing together "Always have to sit in the cold miserable weather"

"Hopefully it'll rain and we can herd the kids into the cars" Jac smirks, he rolls his eyes at her being a spoil-sport "I'm sorry"

"For?"

"Well...what happened the other day" she bites her lip, he looks at her and nods "It's just been awkward and whether something did or didnt happen between us...we can still remember it so I'm sorry"

"I'm sorry too," he says and Jac smiles before Emma runs over to her and grabs her drink from her bag "Are you having fun, Emma?"

"Yep!" she beams and skips off to go and play with Theo leaving Jac to put her water bottle back in her bag

"I'll tell you something, your daughter is something else, she brings my Theo right out of his shell"

"She's definitely outgoing I'll give you that" Jac sighs with a shake of her head, she was proud at what her and Jonny had created

"I wonder where she gets it from" he smirks at her, she rolls her eyes

"Oh shut up"

After dragging the kids away from the playground, Jac groaned at Fletch plying them all with ice cream and at the thought of having five hyper kids to deal with. Either way she got one for herself confused at the concept as it was so cold out. They continued around the zoo for a while, the little ones were starting to get quite tired so Fletch suggested they packed it in after the giraffes that Emma was, for some reason, desperate to see. So they headed to the giraffes and then called it a day. Jac was helping Emma into her car seat and within an instant, she fell asleep causing Jac to smile and make sure she was belted in correctly before turning to Fletch and smiling.

"I had fun today" he admits "We should do it again"

"Maybe" she smiles and nods, she had fun too and sighed "It was nice meeting your kids that you dont stop going on about at work as well"

"Is that an indicator that you want me to stop rambling on about them?"

"Never stop being you Fletch" she smirks and shuts the car door, Evie sticks her head out of the car window so Jac raises an eyebrow

"It was nice meeting you Jac!" Evie grins, Jac nods and turns to Fletch "Ask her out then you idiot-"

"Evie!" Fletch hisses, Jac bites her lip before frowning and folding her arms across her chest "Ignore her"

"I intend to-"

"Unless, of course, you want to go out for a drink?" he suggests, he thought he may as well try his luck as she seemed to be in a good mood

"Maybe" she shrugs before smirking "I only have one condition"

"And that is?"

"As long as it's not a date" she smirks and then gets into her car, he shakes his head with a smile as she drives off

"Can we go now you two have stopped being so loved up?" Evie asks, Fletch rolls his eyes and gets in his car causing his eldest to smirk at her father's complete shock that Jac might actually agree to go out with him
