When did it start to go wrong? Tales of the fleet.

She looked at the bridge and how it was filled with drones and droids and by everything good she couldn't tell the difference between the two.

Her ship was designed after a ship that was called the Pillar of Atom that was discovered somewhere beyond the Unknown regions, and while the history of that ship and its crew had been offered to her, she didn't care for the history lesson.

She could feel the sweat roll down her arms until it covered the palm of her hands.

She couldn't believe her luck she had just lied to the Admiral, the ruler of the fleet, and he had given her permission to leave fleet space under the idea that she wanted to help find worlds that had something valuable in them.

Needless to say, she had lied to the emperor or king of the entire empire and she had gotten away with it, either because the man was incompetent or he felt pity for her.

At her side was a bird alien someone that wouldn't normally be allowed inside a ship that belonged to the fleet and the only reason he was here, was because he had sold the worlds of his former allies to the Admiral.

In front of her Tali, a Quarian woman that chased after her, her guard, and the outsider after her people were allowed to have one of the gargantuan colony ships to themselves.

Even as her ship flew towards the jump point that would take it near the cross station she could see the various crafts of the many races that belong to the fleet.

Each ship had one or more ways of achieving faster than light, but using so many different kinds near the colony ships- space stations- shipyards, and planets put everything and everyone in danger.

So to take advantage of the different kinds of faster than light that the various races had, the admiral had jump points created where only certain kinds of faster than light could be used.

This way if someone used a different version than the one that everyone was using it would be immediately picked up by the sensors covering the area.

A small tug told her that they had just reached the jump point and when her senses realized she realized that she was now passing the cross station.

Just beneath the cross station was the mining world that she had worked in as a waitress.

Out of pure instinct, she ordered the drones to zoom in on the planet and she couldn't believe her eyes, the planet was now being patrolled by not two but nine heavy gunships.

Gunships were named because of the guns that they had on them, and people called them that because there were ships that didn't have any weapons that anyone could see.

Heavy gunships, were widely known throughout the fleet as the rear guards of the fleet.

They had sacrificed their speed for stronger weapons, a single gunship could tear through five planets alone.

It may not seem like much, but put an entire defense fleet and orbital stations as well as planetary shields and interplanetary guns against the monster and the heavy gunship would come out unscratched.

"What's going on?" she asked the drones.

"Due to the high amounts of kidnappings performed by the Asari and the Elven populations of the world the planet is being quarantined until they can control themselves."

"All non-Asari or Elf have been escorted off-world, and no one is to enter or leave the planet." the mechanical voice of a drone answered her.

"Updating, there is now a separation between the Asari that can't control their natures and as a direct result kill all none Asari who mate with them and those that don't."

'Those that don't have to prove that they don't kill their partners by a test."

"All elves are currently going through something called detoxification, as the reason they lost control is that they came into contact with the uncontrollable asari." A droid or maybe it was a drone said to her.

Just in that small piece of information, there were contradictions, at first, the Asari killed those they mated with, but she only knew that they kidnapped people and then brought them back.

Did that mean there were people that disappeared that would never be found and if the elves had lost control after coming into contact with them?

Then didn't that mean that the Asari didn't kill everyone they came in contact with?

"Enough about them captain, what do you say how about giving the girl a name." her guard said to her.

The man had heard her lie to the other two and stuck to her like glue and as a result, he was now here.

"The tower of Spring, if it's designed after the pillar of Atom, then it's only natural that it's named after a season," she answered the man who just snorted at the name she'd chosen and her reason for choosing it.

"Bytheway since we're going to be working together what's your name?" she asked the wall of muscles beside her.

"Oh, I thought I told you, my name is Jack, and what should I call you captain?" Jack said to her.

She didn't answer for a long moment as she thought about the name she would use, she could use her real name but if she did that she risked having people track her down and target her family.

Yet if she used a name that reminded the people that knew about her people she risked not bringing problems to her family but to her entire world.

In the end, she chose to use a Human name, that way if someone wanted to find her, they would only have her name and beige description to work with.

And even if they had a picture or video of her, no Twi'lek would normally use such a short name.

"Call me Lili, it's not y real name but as long as we're on this ship it's the name everyone on it will know me by." she said to Jack who nodded at her.

The ship was about to reach the bridge, the bridge was similar to the jump point but unlike the jump point that grabbed a ship and flung them to the next jump point.

The bridge was a long cylinder that a ship had to enter to be able to use, just like before her ship was suddenly pulled and freed from the power of the bridge.

She was now farther from her home than she ever expected to be and she was now left speechless at what she was seeing.

Gargantuan ships filled this area of space and the few planets that the monitors showed her were being covered with machines.
