"Mom?" I yell out, walking around the house to find her "Alison," my dad appears from the kitchen, a scolding look on his face "Don't yell," he shakes his head "Your mother is in the basement," he directs, waiting for his back to turn as I use my hand to mimic him.
Going down the basement steps, I see my mom arranging the basement, it being almost fully unpacked now. "Hi, dear." She muses with her mother like senses, knowing I'm there with out looking at me
"I'm going out," I tap my hand against the railing, "Where to?" She spins around, "A place called The HideOut," I shrug like it's no big deal "A bar? Oh no no no," she waves a finger at me.
A dramatic sigh escapes my lips, rolling my eyes momentarily "All the teens go there, it's fine." I state, this is why I usually don't actually tell my parents where I'm going. Ignorance is bliss and all that.
Her lips pull to the side in thought, "Fine, but no staying out too late. We are going out of town with Dustin and his mom tomorrow," she pauses for the briefest of seconds "They're not going to be playing the devils music, are they?"
A blonde brow raises, "Of course not. Only the finest selections of slow, boring music." I pull a tight lipped smile, going back up stairs and regretting saying anything. I really need to stick with my lies.
As I open my front door, I jump back.. seeing Steve standing there about to knock "Oh, hey." I say in shock as he shows his pearly whites in a soft smile "Sorry," he pretends to knock them drops his arm down
"I was wondering if you wanted to go for a ride?" He asks hopeful, hearing my mother come up the basement steps "Oh is that you Steven?." She beams behind me, cue another eye roll.
"Yes, hi Mrs. Clark." He puts his hand up with a small wave "Are you going to the.. whatever with Alison?" My mother steps closer "Just say yes," I whisper to Steve as he nods enthusiastically. "Yeah, the whatever.. of course." His brows are knit together, confused what he was agreeing to.
"Thank you," I breathe out as I finally manage to get outside with out my parents crowding around "You can actually come if you want, I'm going to the Hideout." I say, unlocking my car door "Not really my thing," Steve laughs abruptly,
"Suit yourself, be lame." I tease with a grin as he shakes his head, "I am not lame," he chuckles "Prove it," I bite, watching the gears turn in his head as he opens the passenger door "Okay fine, I'll go. I'll show you how fun I am."
Steve was more so talking to himself, like he truly had something to prove. "Yeah, yeah." I laugh, pulling out of the drive way and letting Steve direct me to where the hideout even was.
Pulling into the parking lot, I park among the few cars there. "I can drop you off at your place if you.." I start as Steve puts a hand up "it'll be fun," his voice was higher pitched "What's the worse that could happen?" He asks rhetorically, opening the passenger side door.
Usually when people asked that question, everything went wrong. Considering it was evident that Steve and Eddie aren't quite fond of each other, I'm not really expecting the best outcome.
Steve and I seat in a booth in the far corner, him being across from me. It's not like there was many booths, only four that lined the back wall. The rest was open floor seating.
I had to admit, this did seem like my kind of place. Rock and metal posters everywhere, with those genres playing as well. All the people seeming like those I would hang with, varying styles and personalities.
Deep red ambient lighting, lots of black decor and furniture.. I was beginning to realize Steve stood out like a sore thumb with his every suburban moms dream son in law attire.
"The music is a little loud," Steve yells over it as I give a small nod, seeing Eddie exit out of a back room and scan the place.. I assume looking for me.
"So I do have charm, to some degree." Eddie grins wildly as I get up from the booth and approach him, "I'm just here to offer moral support, strictly friend basis." I give a sharp nod, speaking matter of factly but clearly joking.
Eddie straightens out his white custom cut muscle tee, bringing his finger up to shake it at me "That word," he nearly snarls at it, obvious that he isn't fond of it.
"What?" My brows pull together, "friend?" I repeat it, having my head to the side while faking innocent.
Eddies nose crinkles as he pulls a tight lipped expression, wanting to say something but stopping himself. Fiddling with the chain attached to his front belt loop.
"I feel like every time I turn around he's," Eddie gestures to Steve still seated in the booth "Right there." He sighs, "It's not like that, or maybe it is." I tap my lip in fake thought, trying to bug Eddie.
"I'm kidding," I finally state, a small smile on my face. "I'm only here to see one person," my smile turns into a smirk as my fingers dance along Eddie's arm, from his upper arm, past his bat tattoo and down to his hand.
I watch as he gulps, I was beginning to enjoy watching him squirm. I drop my hand back to my side, "I, uh. Gotta go.. play," he walks backwards, flustered.. nearly falling over a chair and then proceeding to apologize to it.
I had to cover my mouth to stop myself from laughing. Oh no.. he was getting to me. He DID have charm just in a very unconventional way, one that I was seemingly attracted to.
"We aren't here because of..." Steve's eyes trail over to Eddie whose now on stage, preparing with his band "kind of yes, kind of no." I give a small shrug as I sit back in my seat
"What would he want with you.. or you want with him?" Steve tilts his head to the side in question. "If you haven't noticed, we have things in common." I gesture around to where we are and what I'm wearing, in comparison to Eddie
Similar styles, similar tastes, similar attitudes and similar desires for each other
"Sometimes it's hard not to picture that ten year old girl dressed in pink from head to toe," Steve points out as I groan "Don't remind me. Those were bad times." I say as we share a laugh.
Eddie stood on stage with his band, fiddling with his guitar before bringing his lips to the microphone "This is a song for Alison, who keeps bringing me to my knees."He grins, pointing directly at me as he winks.
My cheeks must have been the colour of tomatoes as they felt like they were on fire "That was not subtle," Steve says slowly with a head shake, in response to Eddie announcing the song was for me.
I look away from the stage so Eddie can't see my cheeks flush as the drummer gives the count to begin. The hideout coming alive to none other than music of the metal genre, though I didn't think they'd be covering a song...
"You know I never, never seen you look so good. You never act the way you should," Eddie's voice sent chills down my spine, I wasn't expecting him to actually be a good singer..
"But I like it and I know you like it too," His lips pressed against the microphone as he sings, an untameable grin on his face as he strums his guitar while singing.
His eyes never leaving mine, causing me to shift in place as I could also feel Steve's eyes going from Eddie to me.
"The way that I want you, I gotta have you.. oh yes I do." He starts clapping to the beat "Come on everyone," Eddie yells as everyone begins clapping along, the song starting to sound very familiar.
Shaking his long brown hair out of his face, he continued to sing "and baby, talk dirty to me." His eyes light up as he sings, keeping his eyes on me. Oh I am so screwed.
During the guitar solo, Eddie motioned his finger at me to approach the stage and stupidly.. I did so, trying to maintain my 'hard-to get' demeanour. He leans down away from the mic, his lip against my ear as the music is so loud "I see you breaking," he teased.
Another shiver shot down my spin, Eddie chuckles in amusement. Planting a quick kiss on my cheek, his eyebrows darting up and down quickly "says the one whose singing a song for me," I yell over the music.
I swear I'm three feet tall as I walk back over to the booth where Steve is still sat, looking completely stunned by what he was witnessing.
I watch as Eddie uses a hand to pull at the collar on the back of his shirt, pulling the distressed white muscle tee over his head and throwing it to the side of the stage, his body glistening from sweat.
He turns around, continuing to sing and my eyes widen at the site of his back. The long, deep nail marks I had made just over a week ago now, were still very much visible but losing most of their redness.
My cheeks flush again. Oh, I was in so deep I couldn't even see the surface anymore but I was determined not to let him have the satisfaction of winning.
As the song ends, I bury my face into the table "That was.. something." Steve did not sound amused in the slightest, "And here he comes," He's past annoyed at this point.
Being shoved over lightly as Eddie enters my side of the booth, seating beside me.
"Worth showing up for?" Eddie was huffing and puffing as he sat down at our table "Eh.." I move my hand sideways, to say 'sort of'.
Bringing my head back up and leaning my back against the booths seat "So Harrington, you two got a thing going on or what?" Eddies still panting and Steve's drink shoots out of his nose,
My breath catches in my throat as Eddie places his hand on my upper thigh, squeezing it to the rhythm of the music playing over the speakers.
"Uh, no.. no?" Steve stutters than looks at me like I need to confirm that for him. "Good," Eddie muses, leaning back in the booth as well with his legs splayed open and one arm behind his head, his other still on my thigh
I shift in my seat, though that only makes things worse as Eddie grips harder "I think it's a little warm in here," he squeezes my thigh, "Don't you?" He grins, making reference to my own body heat.
I trail my hand across his pant line, hanging my head to the side as I peer over at him "I don't know? Is it?" I say, slowly creeping my fingers into his pants as he jumps in his seat. "That's what I thought," I chuckle to myself.
"Can I talk to you for a moment?" Eddie motions to the back room he had come out of when Steve and I first got here, Steve looks at me in bewilderment, his usually perfectly placed hair now a mess from dragging his hands through it.
"I'll be a minute. I swear. " I reassure him as he sighs, hanging his head down and bringing his lips to his straw. "I'll be here," he says, straw between teeth.
Eddie takes my hand in his and leads me through the black out curtain that drapes over the rooms arch way for privacy,
"Caving already?" I raise a brow, letting go of his hand as I cross my arms over his chest, my eyes lingering over his back.. the marks from my nails, how beautiful his body is.
The room didn't have much to it, an old weathered couch, some chairs and some band equipment.
"You're making this very difficult," the word very has such emphasis that I feel tingles down the back of my neck, Eddie turns around, a look of warning on his face.
"What are you going to do big shot? Use your handcuffs on me?" I challenge him, was he really going to break already? He tilts his head back, hand sliding through his hair as he pulls a bandana out of his back pocket, tying it around his forehead to keep the sweat away,
"That's exactly what I'm going to do.. once the cave," a grin flashes on his face I bring my hands out, putting them side by side like I am awaiting being locked up "Then I guess I'm your prisoner," I fake a pout as his smile lines deepen "Music to my ears," he whispers,
"I don't get why you're denying it so much," I inch towards him, intertwining my hands with his as he peers down at me curiously. "I know you want to bend me over right here and fuck me," my lips part, allowing my tongue to trail over my upper lip.
Eddie unlocks our fingers and places his hands on my hips, god damn it.. not one of my many weaknesses. I have to hold strong "Don't deny you want me deep inside you right now," his eyes light up as he speaks, a seductive smile on his face as he leans down to me.
"I've never denied it," I rise up on my tippy toes, brushing my lips against his slowly.. feeling his hasty warm breath against my mouth as his hands squeeze my hips.
Both of us hesitating, so badly wanting to taste the other again but refusing to let ourselves be the loser of the bet. Refusing to admit we may actually like each other.
"Neither have I," Eddie's lips drag away from my own as he buries his face in my neck, just the feeling of his face and lips being there causes my body temperature to rise, my heart fluttering stupidly and my hands trembling as I place them on either side of his neck.
"What would you say if…" his voice is muffled against my skin, goosebumps appearing all over my body. "I asked to hang out, just the two of us?"
"I'd say that sounds like you trapping me into caving," I chuckle lightly, trying to mask how much I want him in this very moment. "Maybe, why don't you find out.. princess?"
I could feel him grinning against my skin, unable to hold back the satisfying gasp that escaped my lips as his own lips pressed into my neck, giving one long drawn out kiss. "Jesus," I breathe out,
"Ali, it's been well over a minute." Steve calls out from the other side of the curtain. "Harrington, I swear to fucking god!" Eddie's voice booms loudly against my neck, his voice going deeper than I've ever heard before as he was overcome with annoyance and anger.
I bring my hand to my ear, rubbing it gently from the assault against my eardrum. Eddie let's out an exasperated huff, "That's my cue," I say quietly.
Pulling away from Eddie as I head for r he curtain, turning to look at him as his nostrils flare. A little too obvious how angry he is at Steve, "pick me up tomorrow at six." I whisper to him.
"I don't know where you live," He calls after me as I lift up the curtain "Ask Dustin," I grin. Making him go through even more hoops than he already was.
I give Eddie a small wave as he shakes his head to himself, glaring at Steve as I exit the room.
"I don't think he likes me," Steve chuckles, handing me my jacket "You don't like him either," I state knowingly as Steve weighs his head to side "True," he pauses "What was that about anyways?" He was nosy for details
"Just about Dustin and the whole D thing," I lie, waving it off as if it was no big deal. Steve looks at me in question, not sure if he fully believes it but he doesn't press further either.
"How about ice cream?" He changes the topic with a blinding white smile, "Ooh yes, I'd kill for cotton candy ice cream right now," my mouth almost waters at the thought, linking arms with Steve as we exit the hideout.
I truly didn't know if this was really just a big game between Eddie and I. What would happen when one of us finally gives in? That's it? Round two and done? Or was this something more?
For me, as much as I hate to admit it. I like him, god I could scream it from the rooftops. I like Eddie Munson. There's just so many layers to him, so much that draws me in. How he can be shy and innocent one minute and deviant the next, I couldn't put my finger on him.
Now.. it was the worry of playing this big game just to get hurt. If anything, I only had myself to blame.
I really don't want to get hurt again, I've been through this situation before.. it never ends well for anyone.
