It is a nice morning in Hell as a kid demon named Geryon strolled with a young princess named Stella. He had white feathers with red patterns on his head and wore a formal outfit. He laughed at a story told by Stella as they strolled through the garden. "That is a funny story, Stella," he said. He then had a look of concern. "Why did you bring me here anyways?" She sighed and gained the courage to tell the truth.
"I have been arranged for a marriage," Stella confessed.
"Oh..." Geryon looked down on the ground all sad. "Who is the lucky guy?"
"Someone in the Goetia family named Stolas. I'm sorry I didn't want to reveal it to you. I just thought you should know." Stella lifted Geryon's head up to meet her gaze.
"What happens to us?"
"I don't know. We may not see each other again in a few years. I brought you out here to give you something to remember me by." Stella then reached for the ground for a glowing orange flower. Its glow faded when she picked it off the ground. "This may be the last time I see you."
"You mean this is goodbye?" Stella nodded. "I see. I am not royalty to you, am I?"
"It's not that. I-"
"No. I understand. I will treasure this flower forever." Geryon began to walk away from Stella out of the garden as tears fell out of his red eyes. Stella sat down on a bench wiping away her tears as he left.
Many years later...
At an abandoned house in Hell, Geryon worked on an invention for himself. He wore welding goggles as he welded his device. A ghost dog with a pumpkin for a nose flew towards him with a tool in its mouth. He turned to his dog and grabbed the tool from it. "Thanks, Zero," he said. Zero barked a reply as it left him to work. He then turned to a glass display of the orange flower given to him years ago by Stella. He sighed and puts the tool down on the table and removed his goggles from his head. "Maybe I should take a break from my work for today." He got up from his stool and stretched. He then walked to his room and reflected on his past life. He read his newspaper and groaned when he read an article titled 'Not Divorced Anniversary Party'. He crumpled the newspaper and threw it into the trash can next to him. He then started to pace back and forth in the room. He knew that someday he would meet the love of his life again. But when he thought about it, he looked back at the flower. He sat down as Zero floated in the room to see him upset. It barked with concern as Geryon looked at it. "Sorry, boy. Have a lot on my mind right now." He wiped off his tears with his arm and sat back down on his chair.
Geryon
And in this twisted place
There's not a slightest trace
Of anything that has kindness inside her
And from this tortured life
No comfort, no escape
I see, but deep within me is utter blindness
Hopeless
As my dream once died
As time always flies by
Love, a lost illusion
Helpless even
Unforgiven
Cold and driven
Into this conclusion
No other beauty could move me
No goodness could come to her
Her power in hell
That's why I loved her
Her passion has reached me
No lesson could teach her
How I could have loved her
And lived a normal life
If I can't love her, then who will?
Geryon got up from his chair.
Long ago, I should have seen
All the things I could have been
But careless and unthinking, she moved onward
Geryon turned his attention to the flower in a glass display on a round table. He placed his hand on it and closed his eyes. He then screamed with fury and rushed towards the window to view the palace. There was no hope going back to the way things were.
No pain could be deeper
No life could be cheaper
No point anymore
Even if I love her
No spirit can change me
No hope left within me
Hope I could have loved her
Instead of someone who is royalty
But it's not to be
If I can't love her
Let this be the end of me
Geryon collapses on the ground and starts to cry.
