A/N: This story is set centuries before Percy Jackson is set. This story is if the characters and plot of Assassin's Creed Odyssey were in the universe in which Percy Jackson exists. Hope you all enjoy. I do not own any Assassin Creed character or greek god/goddess.

North of Messara and Pepka, the Land of Crete, sat a chain of three islands, highly volcanic in nature. The one that is most eastward is known as Nisyros. Hidden amongst the rocks, a fiery monster, and certain death, awaited all who traveled there. Directly to the west of the island, the island of Anaphi sat. Anaphi was not travelled very often, despite being relatively tame compared to Nisyros. Rumors of a man with one eye living there scared most people away.

The third island, the farthest to the West, is known as Thera. Thera holds the ruins of what appears to be an ancient palace, unknown in origin or age. Currently docked at the palace was a single sailed Trireme, crewed by 200 men and women from across the Aegean sea. Metal plating across the hull made it extremely hard to sink, and the ram was strong enough to cleave ships in two. An eagle figurehead was placed at the bow of the ship, and the sail was that of an eagle carrying a snake.

This was The Adrestia. Barnabas, the old Captain, and the first known Historian Herodotos sat talking with the Eagle Bearing misthios, Kassandra of Sparta. Her life started like any other child born in Sparta. Born to General Nikolas and the daughter of Leonidas, Myrrine, she was raised to be a warrior. She had a baby brother named Alexios, and the family was close. That is, until the Oracle of Delphi, otherwise known as the Pythia, foresaw the end of Sparta. The Oracle saw that Alexios, if he was to grow, would bring the end to their beloved Kingdom.

Mount Taygetos

Approx: 450 BCE

A crowd was gathered around the edge of Mount Taygetos, where an Ephor held baby Alexios towards the crowd.

"The Oracle has spoken!" The Ephor shouted. "To prevent Sparta's fall, the child must fall first."

"No!" Myrrine cut in, tears falling down the mother's face. "You can't let this happen! Please, he'll do us no harm, he'll help us! He will lead us!"

"Silence!" The Ephor was quick to stop Myrrine from talking. He walked towards the edge of the cliff, getting ready to toss the baby. 7 year old Kassandra's eyes widened as she witnessed this, her face hardening as she rushed past her mother and charged towards the Ephors, where her father was also standing.

Kassandra didn't know what she was thinking, but she needed to save Alexios. If she was more careful, she may have succeeded, however she knocked into the Ephor, throwing both him and Alexios over the edge.

"Murderer!" The crowd grew angry. "She has killed him!"

"Toss her over!" a civilian shouted to Nikolas. "Pay for her dishonor! For the life she has snuffed! She's not Spartan, Nikolas!"

Myrrine dropped to her knees as she begged with her husband not to listen to the crowd, however Nikolas knew he had a duty as a Spartan. Though was the duty more important than his own family? He was deep in conflict as he grabbed his daughter's arm and dragged her to the cliff's edge. A flash of lightning lit up the sky as Nikolas let go and dropped her off the edge.

Kassandra bade her friends goodbye as she stepped off the ship.

"Thera." Kassandra commented aloud. "Not what I was expecting."

Then again, Kassandra didn't know what she was expecting. The last few years have been so full of adventure that it was hard to keep track of it. It started at her home in Kephallonia, where her employer found a pure white Pegasos, however claimed he was just a regular horse called Phobos. In fact, only Barnabas has seen Phobos as a Pegasos, everyone else claims they only see a horse of Makodenian breed.

The same day, she met a man named Elpenor, who sent her on a quest to kill "The Wolf of Sparta", who happened to be her father. Looking back on the encounter, she still can't figure out if she made the right call to spare him.

"Chaire Pater." Kassandra said, her hands gripping the broken spear of Leonidas that her mater passed down to her. "It's been a long time."

"Impossible." Nikolas gasped, shocked. "I saw you fall."

"I didn't fall!" Kassand ra shouted. "You fucking threw me to my death."

"I did what was required of me as a Spartan." Nikolas growled. "I've made my peace with that. You need to as well."

"You were my father! You were supposed to protect me."

"You were reckless." Nikolas pointed out. "You forced my hand."

"I was protecting my brother because you wouldn't." Kassandra accused him.

"The Oracle decreed that Alexios had to die." Nikolas explained. "Her word is absolute. You know that."

"You can't cower behind your sense of duty anymore." Kassandra scoffed.

"Enough!" Nikolas shouted. "I can't change the past, Kassandra. I will live and die a Spartan."

This was much harder to do than Kassandra thought it was going to be. Nikolas still raised her and started her training.

"There is a large reward for the misthios who brings in the head of the Wolf." Kassandra explained, her grip on the spear tightening.

"Is that why you are here?" Nikolas sighed, resigned to his fate.

"You have avoided the past long enough!" Kassandra yelled, rushing up to her father as she grabbed him and pushed him close to the cliff they were next to. "Now you will answer to me!"

"Though you deserve death, there is no honor in vengeance." Kassandra decided, and threw him back to solid ground. "You must face the ghosts of your past, pater. And that is a fate worse than death."

"I have failed in my duty. I failed to protect you, both of you." Nikolas said. "I loved you and your brother as if you were my own, but you were never truly mine."

"What do you mean?" Kassandra slowly asked.

"That is a question you should ask your mother." He explained.

"Wait." Kassandra stopped him.

"Find your mother." Nikolas stated.

"Find her?" Kassandra questioned.

"Wherever Myrrine is, she knows more than I do."

"Where will you go?" Kassandra asked.

"To regain my honor." Nikolas sighed, walking off. "Beware of snakes in the grass, Kassandra."

As Kassandra walked amongst the ruins of Thera, she thought about how her deal with Elepnor ended. She took Nikolas's helm and brought it to him, pretending that she killed him. The helmet, along with the fact that she now has Nikolas's sword was proof enough for him, and he paid her without question.

With the money in hand she turned on him, angry that he sent her to kill her father without telling her. He escaped, however soon enough she tracked him down and killed him. She found a black cloak and a creepy looking mask in the cave in which he was hidden, along with a golden shard.

Since they were in Phokis already, Barnabas had convinced Kassandra to visit the Pythia. While there, they discovered that the group Elpenor worked for was called the Cult of Kosmos. They were interwoven into society of every level, secretly controlling everything, including the war between Sparta and Athens.

It was at the Temple of Apollo where they met the man named Herodotos. He was sent by Perikles, the elected leader of Athens, to ask the Oracle how to end the war. Together, Herodotos and Kassandra worked together and discovered the lair of the Cult hidden beneath the temple.

Temple of Apollo, Phokis

431 BCE

Kassandra walked down the dark corridors, disguised in the mask and cloak that she got from Elpenor. She saw the room at the end of the corridors lit up by a pyramid in the center of the room.

There were about 41 other people in the room, all of them in the same get up as her own. There were only 2 ways to tell each other apart. One was that there were two mask styles. One was more monstrous, like the one Kassandra was wearing. The other was smoother and had blood tears falling from the eyes.

The one that was more monstrous must be for the men, Kassandra decided. She did pull the mask from Elpenor after all. The second difference was only applicable to 7 people in the room. A gold wreath sat atop their heads, denoting that they were of higher ranking than the rest.

She mingled slightly with all of those that were there, pr`ying for information without being too suspicious. She figured out that they were manipulating this person named Deimos into working for them. He was clearly a great warrior from their descriptions, and extremely strong willed.

She found two cultists talking to each other on if they should go for his mother or father. Kassandra chose the father, however if she could save them both she will try. She heard a brute cultist threatening another and torturing him to kill the artist Phidias. A wreath cultist was threatening the family of another cultist into continuing their work.

Somehow, that pyramid seemed to be calling to Kassandra, which she didn't know was even possible. As she walked closer, she felt her back warm up. The spear she had hidden beneath her robes seemed to be interacting with the pyramid. The pyramid was also covered in shards like the one she found on Elpenor. She placed the shard on it when a high pitched voice caught her off guard.

The only thing interesting that Kassandra learned from the lady was how powerful her "champion" was. This was most likely Deimos, as Kassandra had heard a lot about this mysterious man.

The doors burst open, and a man in gold and white armor walked in. The sword strapped to his waist looked to be the same material that Kassandra's spear was made of. In his hands was the decapitated head of Elpenor, which was thrown into the center of the room.

"Elpenor is dead." The man, Deimos, calmly stated, which was very disconcerting as his eyes raged. "One of you is a traitor."

"The artifact will expose them." Diemos motioned to the pyramid. He grabbed a random cultist and dragged him towards the pyramid. "Everyone will be tested."

After clearing a couple, his eyes turned to where Kassandra stood.

"You." he growled at her. Kassandra walked forward, wondering if she should make a run for it. Both Deimos and Kassandra touched the pyramid, and she could see his memories as he could see hers. She saw Mount Taygetos. She saw Nikolas and Myrrine. She saw herself in Deimos's memories, which could only mean one thing.

"Alexios." Kassandra whispered in shock as Deimos's eyes widened.

"Go." Deimos stated, before pulling up another cultist, killing him.

"The traitor is dead." Deimos shouted as Kassandra slipped out of the chamber.

At the very edge of the ruins, Kassandra noticed what appeared to be a doorway into the cliffs. However unlike any normal doors, these were 10 times taller than she was, like it was created for someone much taller than a human. It was in the shape of a giant triangle, split down the center. It was the same design she saw on the Island of Andros.

Herodotos showed Kassandra the island, having heard rumors of the spear of Leonidas being connected to the island. While there, she found the spear could open the way through those doors, and found a forge inside.

However, unlike the forges she was used to, this one was far beyond the technology the Greek world had. It was abandoned but seemingly millenia ahead in its scale. She found a mold that was used to create her spear. Using the shard she got from Elpenor, having taken it back from the pyramid, she was able to imbue her spear with more strength.

As she was leaving, Deimos appeared, having tailed them to the island. Kassandra tried to talk to him, however his mind was poisoned by the lies of the cult. He believed he was a demigod, sent to bring order to the world.

Seeing that her brother would not be convinced yet, she left, knowing she would see him again, and hopefully bring him over to her side against the cult.

Kassandra sailed to Athens with Herodotos, as Perikles surrounded himself with the brightest minds in the Greek world. Going to one of his Symposiums was a good way to get information, and perhaps even locate her mother.

It took much effort and time, however at the Symposium she met a man named Alkibialdes who pointed her to the land of Korinthia and a heterae named Anthousa. Playwrights Euripides and Aristophanes told her to go to Argolis and talk to Hippokrates. The wife of Perikles, Aspasia told her to go to the pirate island of Keos and meet with her friend Xenia.

There was something about Aspasia that struck Kassandra though. Even though Perikles was the leader, it felt as if she really controlled him. Everyone at the symposium knew Aspasia better than Perikles. She had been watching Kassandra from the beginning with spies. She covered up how Kassandra helped Sparta defeat Athens in Megaris. She knew about the cult and about Elpenor.

With that in mind, she first headed to Keos, in which she learned that her mother was a pirate for a few years, and she sailed under the name of Phoenix. In Korinthia, she killed another cultist named the Monger. She met a Spartan named Brasidas, who gave her the idea to kill the Monger in secret rather than to make a public show of it like Anthousa wanted. However Anthousa was still grateful for the Monger's death, and told Kassandra that her mother won a ship that was called the Siren's Song.

It was Kassandra's adventure in Argolis however, that stuck with her the most. She met Hippokrates, a man who challenged the norm of praying to the gods to heal the sick. He focused more on healing with medicine and physical things. There was one priestess who hated him most, and her name was Chrysis. Upon hearing her voice, Kassandra immediately knew who she was. This was the high pitched Cultist who was talking about Deimos.

Kassandra found out that Chrysis had manipulated a priest to lie to Myrrine and tell her baby Alexios had died. Myrrine had gone down the mountain and found Alexios's body. She brought him to the Priests, and they denied her. Chrysis saved the baby and raised him to be Deimos.

Chrysis paid in blood for helping tear her family apart and taking Alexios away from them. With all the information, Kassandra returned to Athens. However, it was not the beautiful city she first saw. The city was consumed by plague. The same plague she saw in the city of Kausos on Kephallonia.

Burning bodies lined the streets, everyone was locked up in their houses. Even Perikles was sick and dying. No one knew how to cure the plague. Aspasia was trying to get Perikles to leave, but he refused. He had to go to his Parthenon and pray to Athena. Unfortunately, that was where he died. The cult wanted him dead, and Deimos slayed Perikles in front of the Athena Parthenos statue.

The mission quickly changed to get Aspasia out of Athens before Kleon, who would take over for Perikles, could get his hands on her. Sokrates and Hippokrates, who came when the plague started, decided to stay in Athens to help the people. Kassandra told Aspasia the information she found on her mother, and Aspasia told her that Phoenix was last heard from on the island of Naxos.

The Adrestia sailed to the island, where Kassandra would finally reunite with her mother after years. However, the reunion was far from how she expected. Her mother was the leader of the island, and was currently dealing with another cultist on the neighboring island of Paros. Silanos, the cultist, had allied with the Athenians, so Myrrine had little choice but to ally with the Spartans to get rid of Silanos.

After sabotaging the Athenians on Paros, Kassandra was able to draw Silanos out into the open, and they sank his ship, killing him. Upon his death it was revealed that one of the two Spartan Kings was a member of the cult. Myrinne insisted on going back to reveal this Cultist King, but sent Kassandra to the island of Thera first.

"Naxos seems secure." Kassandra commented to her mother. They had just sunk Silanos's ship, and were standing by the Adrestia on the docks of Naxos.

"We have done great things together for its people." Myrrine nodded.

"But now we must look beyond these shores and destroy the cult." Kassandra said.

"They are everywhere and nowhere. Their followers are without number. Where do we start?" Myrrine questioned.

"We cut the heads off the beast one at a time until they are blind and defenseless." Kassandra explained.

"Sparta." Myrrine realized.

"Sparta?" Kassandra questioned.

"I still have influence there, and allies." Myrrine nodded. "We can rally around our home and cleanse it of their influence as an example to the world."

"It will be dangerous." Kassandra warned. "Their hold on Sparta is strong."

"Don't you think it's time we returned?" Myrrine asked.

"Together." Kassandra grinned.

"I have only a few things left to do here."

"As soon as you are ready, we will set sail for Lakonia."

"I think there's something you should do first." Myrrine commented.

"What?" Kassandra asked.

"You need to find your father."

"Who is he?"

"He's a difficult man to describe." Myrrine grinned slightly. "He's many things, but the only way to truly know him is to meet him yourself."

"So you won't tell me now." Kassandra realized.

"There are details only he can provide. I hope when you meet him you understand." Myrrine explained. "You'll find what you need on the island of Thera. I've given your navigator the course. I'll see you in Lakonia."

"I'll be there." Kassandra nodded.

"May Poesidon keep you safe." Myrrine said her farewells.

Thera

Present Day

As Kassandra held the spear out, the tip glowed golden, as did the gates. The triangle sinks into the ground, opening the pathway. Why was her father here of all places?

Lighting a torch she started into the tunnels, wary of each step she took. She reached a halt when the floor ahead of her dipped. There was no way she could walk down it, so she prepped and started to slide down. The slide then stopped in midair, so she used her momentum, diving into water below.

Kassandra rose from the water, catching her breath as she climbed on to a floor nearby. The room she was in was much much larger than the forge. The entire wall was glass, and she could see sharks and fish swimming outside. At the far end of the room there was a normal doorway, with a man and a woman standing there.

The woman was wearing form fitting battle armor, much like the armor Kassandra wore. It still protected them, but was much more maneuverable than most other armor. The woman held a spear and a shield, both with an owl embedded on it. Her blonde hair flowed out the back of her helmet, and her gray eyes were shining.

The man was also wearing armor, although his was much bulkier. If Kassandra was looking at a shadow of the man, he would appear as a monster. Two swords were strapped to his waist, daggers on his chest. An Axe was on his back, and he held a shield that had a bull on it. His eyes were all she could see, and they were fiery red.

"Hello Kassandra." The man stated, his voice smooth and silky. "Welcome to Atlantis."

"Atlantis?" Kassandra gasped. "I thought it was just a myth."

"Most myths are based on truth." The woman grins warmly. "And I wouldn't say this is Atlantis, just one of the many entrances."

"Our Uncle allowed us access here to meet you." The man explained. "This is really his domain, but this is the easiest place to get you to."

"Your uncle?" Kassandra questioned.

"Poesidon." The woman nods.

"That means…" Kassandra immediately kneeled upon her realization. "Lord Ares, Lady Athena, I apologize for not recognizing you sooner."

"Hush child." Athena takes off her helmet. "No need for that. We are family after all."

"Family?" Kassandra opened her eyes wide. "Who is my father?"

"I am." Ares grinned, taking off his helmet. "I am your father Kassandra."

Kassandra took one look at Ares and knew without doubt he was not lying. His eyes, now that they weren't glowing, matched hers completely.

"I have so many questions." Kassandra mutters.

"Speak, my girl." Ares nods.

"My brother, Alexios, is he your son too?"

"No child." Athena cuts in. "That is where I come in. Your grandfather Leonidas was my child. My blood passed through him to your mater and now you and your brother. Normally being a second generation legacy would mean you wouldn't have many powers from me, however, being the daughter of Ares gave you more godly blood. This makes your ichor percentage greater than any other demigods."

"Making me more powerful." Kassandra nodded in understanding. "But what of Deimos?"

"Deimos processes a sword that was made by our brother Hephestios. When a Legacy connects with a weapon made by the gods, the ichor is activated and gives the legacy the powers." Ares explained. "The sword was meant for you, however the Cult stole it away and gave it to him. Luckily Myrrine gave you the Spear, as that was also created by my brother."

"How does the Cult play into all of this?" Kassandra asks. "Do they know about the gods being real?"

"We are unsure." Athena sighs, making it clear she did not like not knowing something. "We suspect that the leader, known as the Ghost, does, and we suspect why."

"Our grandfather." Ares puffs in anger.

"Grandfather?" Kassandra stated, before realizing who they meant. "You mean Kro-"

"NO!" Athena shouted. "Don't say his name. Names have power."

"Before you knew about your heritage, saying the names was fine. However, now that you know, saying names of any powerful monsters or enemies may attract them to you." Ares nodded. "More than they are already due to the ichor that flows in your veins."

"I thought your grandfather was imprisoned in Tartaros." Kassandra questioned. "How could he be involved with the Cult?"

"He has many allies still moving in this world." Athena sighed. "They could be using the Cult to try and bring him back. That is assuming he is still imprisoned. Our other Uncle, Hades, claims nothing has been amiss, however not even he dares to venture into Tartaros to check."

"You mentioned that Monsters will also react to me using their name." Kassandra noticed. "Which do you speak of?"

"All of them." Ares spoke. "Monsters don't have souls. So when they are killed, they will eventually reform back on the mortal plain."

"How come nobody sees them?" Kassandra asks, confused.

"There is a veil that protects the mortal world from ours, known as the Mist. It hides anything immortal from them. They also can not be killed by anything immortal. The metal we use is known as Celestial Bronze, it will pass harmlessly through any mortals." Athena explains.

"Your spear is made of a blend of both Celestial Bronze and Mortal Steel." Ares continues. "However, your current sword won't do much in a battle with any monster. Which is why I am giving you a gift."

Ares pulled out what appeared to be a single drachmae, nothing unusual. However as Kassandra took the coin from her father, the coin expanded into a Spartan Hoplite sword, the blade solid bronze. Engraved among the bottom of the blade was the greek words πνεύμα πολέμου. Pronounced as pnévma polémou, the engraving translated to "Spirit of War."

"This blade was not crafted by my brother, but built by my uncle's cyclops army in the Atlantis forges." Ares explained. "You can simply think about hiding the blade or making it appear, and it will transform from the coin or back into the coin."

Kassandra did so, and she held the drachmae once more. Storing it into a pouch on her quiver, she realized she forgot two things.

"What about Ikaros? How did I get him, and why can I see through his eyes?" Kassandra questioned. "And Phobos? I am guessing others can't see him because of the Mist, but how did he end up mine?"

"Blessings." Athena grinned. "Many of my family have taken an interest in you and your journey. They have blessed you in different ways."

"My father, Zeus, blessed you with Ikaros and the ability to see through him." Ares nodded."Poesidon gave you Phobos, and the ability to summon him from anywhere. However there are other blessings you have yet to use."

"What are they?" Kassandra questioned.

"Hestia and Hephestios blessed you with the ability to light your sword on fire and Artemis blessed you with the ability to shoot arrows through solid objects." Athena smiled. "In addition, being my legacy grants you the wisdom to plan and create strategies that will not fail, along with just being wiser in comparison to most."

"Being my daughter, you are able to become invulnerable for a brief amount of time after being hit." Ares began. "You can also fight with any weapon, even if you have never used it before, and overall hit harder and faster than any mortal. You can also perceive events slower than they actually are, so you can see attacks coming and defend or dodge them with ease. On any battlefield you are going to be the strongest, and can easily take even the best warriors. Only other demigods, like Deimos, can match you."

"What must I do?" Kassandra stood up straight. "What is my destiny?"

"For now, go to Sparta with your mother." Athena explained. "Find that cultist king of yours, and cleanse Sparta."

"Your journey will lead you to face Deimos once again." Ares frowned. "Do what you can to save him, but do not hesitate to kill him if you must."

"When you find the Ghost of Kosmos, you must not kill him or her." Athena told her. "She is to be captured and brought to Olympos, to figure out if our grandfather is involved. Throw a drachmae into a rainbow and call upon Iris, the goddess of rainbows, to contact us when you have the Ghost."

"I understand." Kassandra nods. "Chaire Athena. Goodbye Pater."

A/N: Please let me know of your opinions on this story. I am a bit hesitant on the concept as a whole due to the limited audience that the Assassin Creed side of the story will bring. I am hoping that all those Percy Jackson fans (Who didn't play the game) who found this story enjoyed it, and didn't feel lost due to the unfamiliar plot.
