A/N: Suddenly, an old crossover AU came back to me and I finally had the motivation to write it.

Prologue

This storyline is not related to Vicinity: Akademi and is standalone.Suzume agreed to meet with Kiyomaro and Megumi at a train station. They would be going to a movie theater. At first, they'd stopped by the shopping mall for lunch and bought the things they wanted with their allowances. Suzume waited at the train station for her friends as she recalled a memory from a few months ago.

One day, Suzume reacted to the news of Kiyomaro and Megumi dating in a cynical matter and shut herself away in her bedroom for days or weeks. she did not remember which. Then, one day, she finally accepted the reality and Kiyomaro's and Megumi's romantic relationship after the two told her they still wanted to be her friend.

Since then, Suzume sometimes would hang out with Kiyomaro and Megumi, and the three were inseparable. Suzume still loved Kiyomaro, but overall, she was happy for him and glad to have Megumi as an older sister figure. Megumi encouraged Suzume to look at the bright side, and Suzume may meet someone else one day.

"Hey, Suzume!" Kiyomaro called out to her, waving his hand and holding hands with Megumi.

"Hi, Kiyomaro!" Suzume greeted happily, approaching him and Megumi. "Hi, Megumi. So, are we ready to go to the popular area?"

The popular area that Suzume referred to was a tourist attraction for teenagers. That's where the movie theater and the shopping mall were located. Suzume smiled cheerfully and jumped excitedly. Megumi smiled and patted her back.

"There, there. Save your excitement when we get there, Suzume."

"I know, Megumi. I just can't help it!" Suzume giggled.

"I'm glad you're comfortable, Suzume." Kiyomaro gazed at her, smiling at her warmly.

Suzume's heart skipped as she turned her eyes away from Kiyomaro shyly. Suzume gazed at the sky. It was a sunny day, perfect for her trip with her friends. Suzume glanced around the train station, surprised she and her friends were the only ones at the station. Well, they were until a few guys also arrived.

"I can't wait to watch The Crazy House, man." Eita chuckled. "I heard that movie is number one for comedy."

"Well, shit, dude." His friend, Haruhiko, smirked. "Funny shit."

"How about we stop by for lunch before we go to the movies?" Sebe offered, grinning. "It's on me, man."

"Cool." Eita and Haruhiko grinned back, agreeing to a free lunch.

"I need to take a piss, man. Be back." Eita hurried to an outdoor restroom.

"We need to know what time the train comes," Haruhiko told Sede, and Sede nodded. "Let's go." They went back inside the train station's building.

Suzume, Kiyomaro, and Megumi just looked at each other. So, they aren't the only ones going to a movie theater. As they caught a glimpse of a moving train coming their way, a tall man in a black jacket and a black hat approached them.

The man suddenly pulled out a gun, alerting Kiyomaro and Megumi, and before they reacted, the man fired the gun. Suzume stood in shock, and her eyes widened in terror as Kiyomaro and Megumi collapsed onto the ground. She locked eyes with their killer as he fled the scene. The train passed behind her as Eita, his friends, and the staff went outside.

Suzume snapped out of it, falling to her knees and screaming in agony.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Vicinity. It was the name of a town located between the mountains. It would be hers and her mother, Takara's, new hometown. After the murder of Kiyomaro Takamine and Megumi Ooumi, they were enrolled in the FBI witness protection program. They were given new full names and bodyguards, Tai Kamiya and Matt Ishida, to live with them in their new home until the murderer was captured.

Who knows how long she'd live in this new environment? Tai stopped by a Cafe when he entered the town. Tai, Matt, Suzume, and Takara got off the car and went inside. They were greeted by a waitress named Clover.

"Hello, welcome to the Vicinity Cafe. Please follow me." Clover smiled and led the group to a table. "There you go. May I give you drinks?"

Suzume and the others give their drink orders, and the waitress leaves the table. Things were awkward at the table. Suzume barely met her bodyguard and had no clue to start a conversation. Of course, bodyguards shouldn't get too attached to the person they'd be protecting. She noticed Mr. Kamiya kept a cautious gaze on the window.

"Are you okay, Kaede?" Takara asked, eying at her daughter in concern, referring to her by her new name.

"I'm...fine." Suzume turned her eyes away from her mother nervously.

Clover returned to the table with the drinks and took the lunch orders. As the waitress left the table again, Suzume kept her gaze on her lemonade in depression.

The furniture in her new home was brand new. The only thing she and her mother were allowed to keep was their personal belonging, such as clothes and items. The papers with the original information of their names, birthdays, birthplaces, and other personal information were replaced with the details of their new identities.

Suzume lay on her bed, gazing at the ceiling. She wondered how things would have been if Kiyomaro and Megumi were still alive. Would she be able to prevent their deaths? What if she and her friends never went to the train station? Tears started to drop from her eyes.

'I'm sorry, Kiyomaro, Megumi...'

Suzume wept, grieving, still couldn't believe Kiyomaro and Megumi were gone from her life. They would never come back to her. All Suzume could do for them was keep them in her heart and memories. She prayed for justice.
