The first time I noticed him was during his little cafeteria speech. I was one of the ones he made fun of for liking parties. My friends were all pissed that the freak was trying to make fun of us, but I couldn't seem to care once I looked at him. He was definitely not my usual type; I liked short hair and blue eyes. I'd had a crush on Jason during middle school up until last year when I realized what a dick he was, but there was still no denying that his looks were near perfection. Eddie's long, shaggy hair and dark eyes were something that never attracted me before, but there was something about those eyes that pulled me in.
"Hey, Angie, you okay?" The sound of Sarah talking to me knocked me out of my daydream, and I was immediately nervous that I had been caught staring at Eddie. Thank God nobody at this school reads minds because I think I would probably die of humiliation if anyone knew what I had just been thinking.
"Yeah," I said, shaking the thoughts from my head. "Just thinking about how dumb the kids at this school are."
"Ugh, seriously. Those FREAKS make this whole town look bad!" Sarah said, yelling loudly enough that Eddie and his friends looked our way. As Eddie was laughing, he looked away from Sarah and over at me, holding eye contact for so long that I started to squirm in my seat, but was still unable to look away from his eyes. After what felt like hours, the lunch bell rang. I had been so caught up in his eyes that the sound caught me off guard, making me jump in my seat. Once I realized that I had been staring, again, but this time I had been caught by Eddie himself, I left the cafeteria and went straight to my next class. I needed to get those eyes out of my head.
A/N: I know this is a short and uneventful chapter, I promise it gets better fast! This is my first real fanfic so I'm getting my footing here!
