"Come on!" Thomas began to whine. "It's is as hot as hell in here."

"That's exactly where you're going if you burn those cookies!" Rio seethed.

"Why do you want cookies in the summer?" he almost hissed. "Isn't the kitchen hot enough?"

She shrugged. "I have a sweet tooth."

Rio was the type of woman that got what she wanted so Thomas had been forced to bake those cookies from scratch. It was all part of their agreement. Thomas had lost to Rio in a duel, so he was to be her slave for a week. It was an agreement between the two of them, and it was iron clad. Her ice had all but frozen Thomas' puppets.

"So, wouldn't ice cream be more appropriate then?"

Thomas should bite his tongue as Rio imagined that he would be making the ice cream himself too. In her experience, homemade was always better

The timer dinged, and it looked like Thomas was going to jump out of his skin.

"Make sure that you wear the oven mitts!"

She fought back giggles as Thomas grumbled under his breath and watched him take the tray out of the oven in the apron she had made him wear.

Rio smiled fiendishly, and he couldn't see it was. She was only admiring her handiwork so far. He placed the cookie tray on the stove.

"So, slave, after this, do you want to clean the bathroom?"

"Please." He pleaded her with his eyes.

She did not respond.

Obviously, he didn't want to be enclosed in that cramped humid place and clean of all things.

Rio knew that he wasn't used to doing work especially the remedial sort. Good.

"Even the toilet?" Thomas grimaced

She nodded. "Is the toilet in the house? Is the toilet used? Can it get dirty?"

Maybe after all this experience, she wondered if he would ever want to duel her again.

"And by the way I ran out of soda."

She shook the empty glass to get his attention. He watched mutely as a drop of purple liquid dripped out of the glass. Another mess that he would have to clean.

"The freaking refrigerator is right there!" Thomas was exasperated as he pointed to it across the room

"It's your job at the moment isn't it?" Rio batted her eyelashes.

"Come on, Shark!" Thomas swung his red eyes to the other boy.

Rio was startled for a moment. She hadn't even heard her brother enter the room. He was silent as his namesake shark. Well, she knew that he would never miss a chance to see his one of his greatest enemies suffer.

The purple-haired boy crossed his arms. "Why are you asking me for anything? You're lucky if we let you leave."

She supposed that Ryoga would never give him any sympathy. After all, he had put her in a hospital. He had also managed to personally get Ryoga disqualified from the National Duel Circuit. Rio supposed that this day had taken a long time to get here.

Rio shook the glass so that the ice cubes rattled. She fixed Thomas with a glare.

She could hear him groan audibly as he lifted the plastic bottle of grape soda and tilted it to pour in her waiting glass. She smiled as he filled it to the top.

"I think that my brother wasn't some too." With a smirk, Rio crossed her legs.

"You mind?" Ryoga had suddenly produced a glass. "Well, I suppose that it doesn't matter if you do."

Rio couldn't help but notice that the soda was as purple as her brother's hair. She guessed that Thomas wouldn't think favorably of grape soda from now on.

Thomas started to pour and Rio swore that she could feel the hatred that he harbored towards her brother.

"A little more," Shark said. "Don't shrimp on me."

Thomas did so as he was forced to oblige. "Better?" he hissed.

"Yes, thank you."

Thomas had such a grimace on his face, Rio was sure that it would freeze there. She wanted to giggle, but she wouldn't. Rio hated poor sportsmanship.

As per their agreement, there were five more days to go.

Rio wondered if Thomas could survive.
