Sasuke and Sakura headed out to visit Naruto and Hinata. Sasuke was taking in all the changes to the village. While they were walking through the busy streets of Konoha, Sakura spoke-
"It has changed a bit," "since you were last here, hasn't it?" tilting her head to watch Sasuke's reaction.
"Hm," Sasuke noticed many more shops had appeared in the city. There were a lot of new restaurants, toy shops and shops that seemed to sell things that did not interest him very much at all – like 'sweet things'
Sakura wasn't surprised by his response. It seems more of a standard version of the Sasuke that she knew, unlike the one this morning.
"I need to drop in here for a sec," Sakura said, just as they arrived at the front of Ino's flower Shop. Sasuke decided to follow Sakura into the shop. At the back of the shop, you could see Ino kneeling while putting flowers in their display case.
Sakura started to wave her hand toward Ino,
"Hi Ino, I have come to pick up the flowers for one of my patients,"
"ah, Sakura, give me a sec. They are at the font, near the counter," Ino got up and then saw Sasuke standing there, a shock Ino continued, "Sasuke -kun?" Sasuke lifted his hand as a small gesture of acknowledgment.
"Oh my, how have you been?" said Ino with excitement "and how long are you staying?" this question perked Sakura's ears because she was very intrigued by this answer.
"I have not decided yet." Said Sasuke. Ino looked at Sakura with a look 'here is your chance, girl' Sakura gave the nod to Ino,
"Ah," Ino said and turned to Sakura, "well, I'll get these flowers sorted for you, Sakura," then Ino continued with a smirk. "Sasuke, would you like to buy some flowers for Sakura while you are here?"
"I'll Pass," said Sasuke with a deadpan tone and headed out the door.
"ah..um," said a red face Sakura and she quickly grabbed the flowers from Ino and ran after Sasuke.
Sakura finally caught up to Sasuke and continued heading toward Naruto's and Hinata's home. When they finally arrived at the house, Sasuke stepped forward to knock at the door while Sakura stood behind him holding her flowers.
Hinata opens the door to greet them. "Hello.. um Sasuke? Ah! Sakura" Hinata looked surprised to see Sasuke. She then looked at Sakura holding her flowers and blushed, thinking Sasuke got them for Sakura. "Please come in. I'll prepare some tea."
"Thank you, Hinata," Sakura said.
"Hinata, who is it?" yells a Naruto in the background
"Um, it's Sasuke and Sakura," said Hinata,
"Sasuke and Sakura?" Naruto said, confused and then responded, "eH! SASUKE!"
Hinata guided them to the living area
"Hi Naruto," said Sasuke,
"Have a seat," said Hinata. She started preparing the tea and gave everyone a cup. "Eh, what brings you here, Sasuke?"
"hn, um, your wedding gift,"
"What!" said a surprised Naruto. This surprised Hinata as well, but she responded with a smile. Sasuke grabbed a package out of his bag and headed to the couple.
"Congratulation, sorry that I was absent," said Sasuke with a sad tone.
"Thank you, Sasuke," responded both Hinata and Naruto at the same time. Naruto started opening the present, and inside was a bottle of some fancy Sake. Naruto lightens up with joy.
"Shall we have a drink?" asked Naruto with a grin.
"Maybe another time," Said Sasuke with a smirk. "I need to see Kakashi after this,"
"Hmm, afterwards then, this evening?" Sasuke nodded to Naruto's question, "What about you, Sakura?"
"eh, um.. I have to go and work at the hospital," said Sakura sadly
"hmm, that is disappointing," said Naruto. He notices Sakura holding flowers "Ah! I see you are starting to hit your moves with Sakura," this shock both Sasuke and Sakura.
"Eh, what?" responded a confused blushing Sakura. Sasuke was annoyed but was waiting to see where this was going.
"Eh, the flowers! Didn't Sasuke give you the flowers" asked Naruto,
"Eh, no," said Sakura
"I have no interest in giving Sakura flowers," said Sasuke matter-of-factly. This saddens Sakura.
"Ah! I see," said Naruto. "So other men are trying to take your woman then?"
"It's not like that.." started Sakura, but Sasuke cut her off with, "She is not my woman,"
these words saddened Sakura even more, but she didn't want to show it, so she smiled and continued, "These flowers are for a patient at the hospital, speaking of which I have to head off now," Sakura got up and headed towards the door. Sasuke got up and noticed that he may have hurt her feelings again,
"I have to head out as well, but we should meet this evening then," said Sasuke.
Sasuke walks out of the door and sees Sakura a mile away
"Sakura," said Sasuke in a firm and loud tone, enough for Sakura to halt in her tracks. She stood still for a second and took this moment to compose herself. Sasuke walked towards her, and once he caught up with Sakura, Sakura turned around, faking a smile
"What is it, Sasuke?" said Sakura.
Sasuke noticed that she was putting on a fake face, which annoyed him.
He sighed and said, "I'll walk with you to the Hospital," "it's on the way to Kakashi,"
Sakura didn't understand what was going on. Why was he annoyed at her, and why would he want to walk with her if he was upset? She stopped herself from overthinking it and just agreed. They continued their walk-in silence till they reached the hospital.
"Well, I'll see you later this evening then?" asked Sakura. Sasuke nodded. "Oh, I almost forgot," Sakura went through her bag and grabbed a key. She stretched her hand and handed it to Sasuke. "It's a spare key for the house,"
"ah, thank you," said Sasuke. He grabbed the keys from Sakura's hand, and he could feel the light touch of her skin touching his. He just stood there for a second, and then Sakura began,
"um, I need to go now. See ya later," Sakura said while she turned towards the hospital. Sasuke gave her a small wave goodbye and then started to head towards the Hokage's building.
