At the attic, Madison found Alan in there, looking at the clothes. She started to see that they were belong to his father until...
"Alan." Judy spoke.
Alan turned and was startled as he saw the board game in her hands.
"Keep that thing away from me!" he said as he got and walk away.
"When are you gonna help us play?" Judy asked as she along with Peter and Madison followed him, "We've gotta hurry. Our aunt's gonna be home soon."
"Well good." said Alan as he walked down the stairs to the second floor, "You can inform her, she's the ex-owner of this house. l hope you realize, with my parents gone, this home belongs to me."
Madison and the finally made it to the second floor but saw Alan going into the bathroom. The door was locked and the three can hear the toilet running.
"What do you think those monkeys are gonna do to the ecosystem around here?" Judy asked until they heard Alan singing and the shower starts running. "Hello?" Judy banged on the door but no reply.
"Let's just sit down and wait for him." said Madison.
The kids nod their head and all three sat close to the wall, waiting for Alan to come out.
Minutes have passed by, Madison, Judy, and Peter were still waiting for Alan to come out. Madison felt like the minutes were like hours but looked down to see Judy resting beside her and Peter resting on his sister's lap. Suddenly, a door sound like it was open and the kids woke up.
All three looked and Alan all groomed in fresh clothes, a haircut, and his beard shaved, but there were some pieces of paper around his mouth which was probably he accidently cut himself.
"Looking good Alan." said Madison and Alan replied with a smile and a nod.
"What happened to you? You shave with a piece of glass?" Judy asks rudely.
"Judy!" Madison whispered in a stern voice.
"What happened to you? The Clampetts have a yard sale?" Alan spoke, "What do you want I've never shaved before."
"Still, so far so good. For the first time shaving, it looks good." said Madison.
"Thanks." said Alan and then walks away.
"Where are you going?" Judy asked as they all followed him again.
In the kitchen, Alan was picking up some food that might be good to eat. He grabbed an apple that one of the monkeys must have eating it but took a bite on the other side.
"How about Peter and l play, and you just sort of watch along with Maddie?" Judy asked.
"No, thanks. I've seen it." Alan refused.
"So, if you're not gonna help us, what are you gonna do?"
"l don't know." Alan answered as he got up, "Pretty much take up where I left off. I wonder if Mrs. Nedermeyer's still teaching sixth grade."
Alan reached to the refrigerator door, but as he opened it, a monkey popped out which made Alan and Madison jumped. The monkey was shivering from the cold quickly left the house.
"Well, that made me jump." Madison said to herself.
"Come on you two. He's not gonna help us. He's afraid." said Peter and starts to walk off.
"What did you say?" Alan asked as he stopped him. Peter turned around to face him.
"You're afraid. It's okay to be afraid."
Alan scoffed and laughed a little at Peter's words.
"Let's go set it up in the living room." said Peter. The three were about to leave but Alan quickly dashed past them and blocked the door.
"No, you have no idea what you're getting yourself into." he said.
"Whatever it is, we'll handle it by ourselves. We don't need your help." said Peter as he was about to walk past him, but Alan stopped him.
"I don't think so." he said and looked at Madison and the kids. "You think monkeys, mosquitoes and lions are bad? That's just the beginning. I've seen things you've only seen in your nightmares. Things you can't even imagine. Things you can't even see. There are things that'll hunt you in the night. Then something screams. Then you hear them eat. And you hope to God that you're not dessert. Afraid? You don't even know what afraid is. You will not last five minutes without me."
Those words really got Madison shook a little, but he was right. In the film a lot of things will get worst the comes out of the game.
"So, are you gonna help us?" Peter asked. Alan stood silence but then he replied.
"I'll watch. But I'm not afraid." he said and then left the kitchen.
"Peter, that was very cool." said Judy as he was impressed.
"Yeah, really clever." said Madison.
"That's reverse psychology. Dad used to pull it on me all the time." said Peter and the rest left the kitchen.
In the living room, Madison and the kids sat down at different sides of the table as the game was set.
"Ready?" Judy asked as she looked at Madison and Peter.
"Yeah." Peter replied and Madison nod her head.
"Alan, ready?" Judy asked as she saw Alan walked by.
"There is no ready." he answered as he was closing the doors.
Judy inhaled and exhaled her breath and starts rolling the dice, but as the dice landed, her token didn't move.
"I'll try again." she said. Judy rolled the dice again but still nothing. "Maddie, you try it."
"Me?" she asked in shocked as she looked at the girl and Judy nodded. Judy handed her the dice and Madison looked at the board.
Madison starts rolling and as the dice landed, nothing really happened.
"Alan, it's not working." said Judy.
Alan looked at them and came to them. He looked at the board and knew something's wrong.
"Oh, no. It's not your turn. In fact, she's not playing this." he said as he mentions Madison.
"Yeah. l rolled first and then Peter twice cause he got doubles, and now it's my turn again." said Judy.
"No, look. Two of those pieces are yours, right? Who's the other pieces?" Alan questioned but then looked at the elephant token. "The elephant was mine. You're playing the game l started in 1969. I'm gonna have to play."
"Guess there's no other choice." said Madison.
Judy handed the dice to Alan, but he shook his head.
"It's not my turn."
"Who's turn, is it?" Judy asked.
"Sarah WhittIe." he answered.
Moments later, all four were walking down the sidewalk until they came to a different house.
"This is where she used to live." said Alan.
"This place gives me the creeps." said Peter.
They all continued to walk towards the house and came to the porch.
"We used to play on this porch."
"You think she still lives here?" Madison questioned until the saw a sign saying 'Madame Serena: Psychic Readings: by appointment only.'
"l knew she still wouldn't live here. Probably married Billy Jessup and they're living in a trailer park. Come on, let's go."
"Wait a minute, Alan." said Madison as he stopped him.
"Maybe she'll know where Sarah went." said Judy.
"Of course, she'll know where Sarah went. She's a psychic." said Peter.
"Good point." said Alan.
Judy knocks on the door all four of them wait for an answer.
"l remember the porch being bigger." said Alan.
"Hello?" a voice asked on the other side of the door.
"Um, can you help us?" Judy asked.
"Do you have an appointment?"
"No, we're just trying to find someone."
"Well, Madam Serena can't see you right now."
"Maybe you can help us." said Alan.
The door slowly opened, and all saw a woman peeking the crack of the doorway.
"What is it?" she asked.
"We're looking for someone who used to live here." said Alan.
"No, I've lived here my whole life." she said and closed the door.
"Well, then you must know Sarah WhittIe." said Judy and the woman open the door again.
"What do you want with Sarah Whittle?" she asked.
Alan looked at the woman and then spoke...
"Sarah?" he asked as he looked at her.
"No, l don't go by that name anymore." she said as she was about to close the door, but Alan stopped her.
"Sarah Whittle?"
"What do you want?" she asked, and Alan slowly walked towards her.
"Twenty-six years ago, you played a game with a little boy down the street. A game with drums." he said.
The woman looked at him in shock.
"How do you know that?" she asked.
"I was that little boy, Sarah." he answered.
That shock the woman even more.
"Alan." she whispered and then came loud thud.
Alan opened the door and all four looked to see Sarah on the floor.
"You killed her." said Peter.
"She's not dead, Peter. She just fainted." said Madison.
Alan slowly picked the woman up in his arms and over her shoulder, the group starts leaving (with Madison closing the door at first) and headed straight back to the mansion.
Inside the mansion, in the living room, all four were sitting down on the couches. The kids were sitting with Alan and Madison was sitting beside Sarah. There glasses of lemonade on the table and Sarah, was calling someone on the phone.
"Dr. Boorstein. Sarah Whittle calling. lf you could call me back as soon as you can. l thiks l need to have my dosage checked. That event we've been discussing for a long time now the one that didn't really happen. Oh boy, I'm having an episode here with the little boy that didn't really disappear. I'm sitting in his living room, drinking lemonade. If you could call me, I'd really be interested in your interpretation. Thank you so much." she said and hang up the phone, "He'll call me back in ten minutes before the hour."
"While we're waiting." said Alan as he opens the game but as Sarah saw a glance of it.
"Whoa, God no!" Sarah exclaimed as she jumped over the couch which startled Madison and Alan starts chasing her.
"Sarah!"
"No, no, no, no!"
"Sarah, please!"
"Alan, l spent over 2,000 hours in therapy, convincing myself that that doesn't exist. What happened to you was so awful, l made up that whole thing."
"Sarah, it was awful. It really was." said Alan as he was trying to calm her down while Judy moved and sat beside with Madison and all three still looked at the two.
"It was real. Real." said Alan as he was talking to Sarah, but the woman shook her head.
"No, no, no. It wasn't real. Your father murdered you and chopped you up in little pieces."
"Sarah, come on. My dad did that? My father could barely hug me. Let alone cut me into little pieces." said Alan as he escorts her to sit down.
"Twenty-six years ago, we started playing a little game. And now we're all gonna sit down and we're gonna finish it." said Alan. He let Sarah sat down beside Peter. "And guess what? Your turn." he said again as he handed her the dive and sat down with Judy and Madison.
"We really need you to play with them." said Madison.
Sarah looked at the dice in silent and whimpered. "No." She tried to hand it to Peter, but the boy pushes it away.
"Play the game, Sarah." said Alan.
"Oh, no, no, no." Sarah whispered and shook her head.
"All right. Just gimme the dice and you can go home. You don't have to play." said Alan as he held his hand out. Sarah sigh with relief and starts handing them to him.
"Thank you, Alan." she said.
As she was about to the drop the dice into Alan's hand, Alan moved his and made the land on the board with a four and three.
"Sly move, Alan. Sly move." said Madison and Alan snickered.
"Oh, my God! How could you do that?" Sarah exclaimed as she didn't notice the rhino token move.
"It's the law of the jungle, Sarah. You'll get used to it." he said.
"And I think of all the energy l spent visualizing you as a radiant spirit."
"Go on, read it." said Judy as she saw the words on the glass.
All five leaned down and saw the words which Sarah read:
"They grow much faster than bamboo. Take care or they'll come after you."
Suddenly, crumbled pieces from the ceiling came down. They all look up and saw vines growing out from the ceiling like crazy.
"Oh great." Alan mumbled as more vines coming out of the holes.
"Oh, God. Tell me this isn't happening." said Sarah as she panicked.
"Oh, it is." said Alan as everyone huddle together, "Stay away from the walls. Don't touch anything. No quick movements."
Madison slowly moved her head to look around as more and more vines kept growing and saw a purple flower blooming.
"Wow, they're beautiful." said Judy as she looked at the flower.
"Oh, yeah, they're beautiful. Don't touch the purple ones. They shoot poisonous barbs. And definitely stay away from the pods. The big yeIlow ones." said Alan.
"What big yellow ones?" Sarah wondered until Peter scream.
"Peter!" Madison exclaimed as she saw Peter getting dragged under the rug.
"Peter!" Alan shouted. All four quickly followed and as the vine dragged the boy out of the rug and heading straight to the fireplace, Alan grabbed his hands. "I got you!"
"Get it off of me! Get it off of me!" Peter cried out as everyone hold onto him until they heard a loud crash.
They all looked up and saw a large pod. The big yellow one that Alan warned. They all screamed at how terrifying it look.
"Oh my god!" Sarah exclaimed.
"My words exactly!" Madison shouted.
The pod starts pulling Peter with it's vine and the boy cried in panic as everyone still holding on to him.
"Hang on, boy." said Sarah.
"Don't let go!" said Madison.
Suddenly the gem on Madison's necklace began to glow and it blast a beam at the pod several times. The rest did witness that but there was no time for questioning.
"Grab him! I'll be right back!" said Alan as he let go.
Madison's necklace was still blasting beams at the pod, but it was too strong to be defeated.
"Harvest time!" Alan shouted.
He came back with a sword and slice the vine in half. Freeing Peter and the yellow pod disappeared and whimpered as its vine was cut.
"Are you okay?" Sarah asked as she looked at Peter and the boy nod.
"Oh, Peter." Judy spoke in worried as she held close to her brother while everyone was still staring at the fireplace.
