Chapter 20: The Rescue Mission
Part 5: Lance and Matt's View

~~ Around a Half Varga Ago… ~~

Within a dark room, everything is quiet. But on one side of a wall, there is a nightstand that is in between two desks. On top of the nightstand is a rose that is wrapped around the orb with colors of red, black, and purple dancing around in it. Underneath it was four petals laying on the nightstand.
Before anything could happen, the stillness was about to be disturbed. As the orb flickers even brighter while something is about to happen.

Within the hallway, Lance and Matt kept on running to get to the location where they are heading. "How much farther?" Lance nearly complained.
"We're almost there," Matt answered at the rear of irritation.
"You said that about three dobashes ago," Lance nearly barked at him.
"Well, this time. I'm serious." They turned to a sharp left and brought to a dead stop where the sight has never been seen before.
"Whoa," Lance look up. "That door is bigger than I'm used to seeing," to Matt's view. Lance was right, in front of them is a big wooden door; decorated with charcoal silver with rubies all around it. However, it has a code lock and door handles.
Nervous, Matt sighed. "No kidding," he looks at the lock. "There's the lock."
"Can you get the door open Matt?" Lance asked.
"I can try," Matt shrugged. "Although I'm not like my sister, Pidge. But I can see what I can do." Matt examines the lock. He can see numbers and letters on the panel and a few fade. I can try random numbers and letters, Matt thought. Well, here I go. Matt typed in SC 2206. The panel dinged and the door slowly swung open. Both Lance and Matt froze for a bit.
"Matt," Lance nearly stuttered his words a bit. "Was that…?"
"First time," Matt admitted.
"Oh," Lance mouthed. "Then I'll go in first."
"Be my guest," Matt is trying to absorb what he just did. Lance activate his red bayard, and it turned into a blaster. He carefully crept into the room. He can see that it is dark, the walls are dark maroon-red color, the carpet is orange-red and it is spacious. Only a few pieces of furniture are displayed in the room; two decks, a nightstand, a blood-red curtain, a black couch, one crystal lantern, and a crystal chandler that looks like that it has turned into a bed. As Lance examines every corner of the room, he notices that it is empty for now.
Lance sighed in relief, "Coast is clear," Lance deactivated his bayard. Matt entered the room.
As Matt entered the room, he looks around and noticed that something is off. "This is strange," Matt spoke. "This room just looks like an ordinary room, I mean. It has no schedule, no papers with files or anything for what-so-ever that is out of ordinary."
"Yeah, you're right." Lance shrugged. "This room sure does look like someone is sleeping and living in here as its own home. Kind of creepy, you know."
Matt chuckled, "No kidding."
"So, why would the map say that Keith is in here?" Lance asked, "I don't see him anywhere."
"I don't know," Matt looks at the map again. "It's saying that he is right here, but nothing on the map said where in the room exactly. That's just weird," before anything could happen. Something has caught Lance's eye. He turned and saw a strange crystal orb on the nightstand.
"Hey, check this out." Lance walked towards it. Strange. Lance thought. It wasn't here around a few dobashes ago. Lance approached the nightstand.
"What is it?" Matt asked as Lance got closer. He is looking at a glass orb with a strange rose wrapped around it with a yin-yang ball that is red and black. Floating in the middle of purple mist. Underneath it is a stand and four rose petals around it. Lance slowly picks it up and sees the colors almost flicker to a brighter color.
"Take a look at this," Lance showed him the orb.
"Whoa," Matt studied the orb. "That is one crystal ball that I have ever seen, but what is it doing here?"
"I don't know," Lance shrugged. "And I got a feeling that I don't even want to…"
"Lance," Pidge's voice called out through the inner comm link. Lance nearly dropped the ball for a moment and luckily held on tightly as his train of thought got back onto the track.
