Review Answers, Explanations, and Fun Things
Not to many questions this time around, except for the earlier chapters sucking in terms of spacing. I went back and tried to fix it to the best of my ability. I've been working on it, hopefully I'm getting better. Mittelt will be more of liaison for Shirou and the fallen angels, she'll be around from time to time. Also, yeah, Shirou wants to keep his abilities secret, but he's more than willing to expose himself for those he cares about. So far, only two people know, Kuroka and Mittelt, Shirone and Asia being knocked out when it was up, though Asia caught a glimpse of it.
I think when I write the other stories, it'll be worked on intermittently, this story being my main focus. I'll add in a teaser for each story at the end of the next few chapters so everyone can get a feel for them. I will make each one a unique version of Shirou. For example, Vanadis Shirou focused on his skill in archery. He was even married to Ayako before he ended up in the new world. Unlike most other Shirou's, he summoned Arturia. Naruto Shirou was a Fraga and his aunt was Bazett, he was in Fuyuki with his parents when the fire happened. Kiritsugu saved him, but died shortly after. Bazett retrieved him from the hospital. He summoned Hippolyta. RWBY Shirou was an Aozaki, his mom being out of town when the fire happened. Despite being angry, (understatement) she was thankful he was saved. She helped Kiritsugu get Illya back. The two being raised together after he died. Arturia and Anastasia were their summons. Demon Slayer Shirou was taught by Taiga, Shiori eventually learning dual wielding. She carries three swords, two on her hip and a nodachi on her back. Saber Lily was her summon. So, on and so forth.
This chapter will be a slower chapter, with Kuroka and Asia taking up the first part. We also see a bit of Le Fay. Shirou does treat her differently than everyone else because of Mordred. More like a little sister than anything else. I will make her use the japanese suffix 'sama' for certain characters since she tends to use that a bit. It feels a bit weird for me, so for now, only Le Fay gets to use suffixes, cuz I like her and she's cool.
Now, I'll explain some stuff about Shirou, his hand to hand combat is really good. His base is obviously Jacobs Limb's, but he throws in some of Bazett's style when he wants to mix it up. Bazett would still trash him straight up with both hands though, which is mentioned in this chapter. His swordsmanship is a mix of Okita, Mordred, and Archer, he does use some acrobatic moves from Ushiwakamaru when needed. His skill with Spearmanship, which includes Kagetora's spear and Martha's staff is more of a dual wield style, he can use the by themselves, but he uses them with a sword primarily.
As mentioned, Shirou and the girls won't turn into devils, I will find replacements for them though. However, you know Shirou, he does like to help others, even if he isn't a hero of justice.
He has thought about summoning, but doesn't know what effect it will have, not mention he won't have command spells from his world's grail. He knows about the Sephiroth Graal and other sacred gears because he researched them when he was with the church. I will say, that you will be seeing a familiar character soon, though it's not from Shirou's world, well not this Shirou. She died in her world and she knows Bazett and Shirou. I think I said to much already.
Someone brought to my attention that I mentioned Shirou and his magus upbringing, that has more to do with Shirou thinking he's a magus before he met Medea. It's more of a, "my dad was this and taught me this, I can do that to some extent so I know about it." It's not inherently true, but slightly. Also, Shirou basically died in that fire, everything about him burned up. He was messed up after, so his thinking is altered. In fact, despite everyone helping him be more human in this story, he doesn't start getting better until this chapter. Senjutsu is something else in DxD. Look up what it heals, and you'll see what I mean.
Next, Shirou does have access to some NP that he normally wouldn't have if he didn't go to the church, included a NP that belonged to another saint. A saint who has a reincarnation in DxD. Also, I'm adding in a little extra in DxD this chapter, because I wanted Shirou to have a sword that wasn't a projection, but still is important to him. The weapon I used, will have different abilities and history than it's cannon counterpart. Also, their will be some characters and events that Shirou will face that are new, those are exclusive to him. He will still be important to the main story though. His battle with the fallen has reached many ears after all. I'll leave it at that.
Now, let's get on to the story.
Chapter 6
"You think Shirou will be okay with what we did?" Asia asked, though, inwardly she was quite happy they now had a home. Especially, since it was a big house with a garden area, a dojo, and had a big shed. It was really bare though, she supposed that was on the to do list. She looked back into the room that Shirou was asleep in.
Even though she used her twilight healing on him, his body was slow to heal. Kuroka did mention that he would wake up soon, especially since she had been healing him too, though Asia and Shirone never saw how she was doing. Though, if Shirone's reaction was anything to go by, she wasn't sure she'd like it either. But, as long as it healed Shirou, she guessed it was fine.
"Of course he will, nya. I've spent enough time around him that I know what he likes." Kuroka said with a big smile. Currently, her and Asia were moving items around the house, luggage and the like. Shirone and Le Fay, who Kuroka called for help, were currently shopping for food. Kuroka grabbed a black sling bag, with a cylinder shaped case covered with red fabric attached to it, from the collection of luggage and began to carry it to one of the rooms, the one they designated should be for Shirou when he woke up.
Unknown to Kuroka, the bag was slightly open, causing some of the contents to spill to the ground. Two books fell onto the ground, followed by a few small writing utensils. Kuroka immediately made a hissing sound and jumped a few feet away. Asia tilted her head to the side a bit, confused, until she realized that it was a bible. She reached down and picked up the bible, a few things falling from it.
"I almost died, nya! He never told me he had a bible." Kuroka exclaimed, though she seemed to recover enough to walk behind Asia and pick up the second book. It was a simple black leather book, with a purple spine and purple strap holding it closed. When she opened the book, she noticed that there was no writing inside, except for the front page, that read 'Shirou's recipes, formula's and aria's. Written by Medea.'. "How weird, nya. Why is it in greek?"
When Asia picked up the rest of the objects that had fallen, she let out a small gasp that got Kuroka's attention. Her ears twitched and she turned around. Taking note of the things in Asia's hand. She noticed a paper in one hand and a picture in the other. She decided to focus on the picture, peeking over Asia's shoulder.
"I wonder if they were Shirou's family, before he was with the church?" Asia seemed to ask to herself. In the photo was Shirou and a girl with dark skin and short purple hair wearing a white dress, serving food to a table full of people. It wasn't a stretch to say, that all the woman at the table were beautiful in one way or another. A beautiful woman with purple hair and white ribbons, wearing what appeared to be a version of Shirou's jacket, a choker with a cross on her neck. A teenage girl with long black hair with an ornament and bird feathers, wearing a blue and white kimono, and a sword by her side.
"Hmm, I wonder who the ones by the empty seat are, Nya? It's Shirou's obviously, but those two are sat closer to the seat than anyone else." Kuroka noted, pointing out a young girl with white hair and red eyes, wearing a purple blouse. The other was a girl with messy blonde hair tied into an equally messy ponytail, she was wearing a red leather jacket and white tube top, both girls seemingly arguing over something.
"I think I remember Shirou mentioning a few of them, especially her." Asia said as she pointed at another woman, this one with short magenta hair, a mole underneath her eye. She was dressed in a black two piece business suit. The one seating by her being a woman with white hair, black patches on her bangs, dressed in a black sleeveless shirt with a white kimono overcoat.
The last three at the table were, a girl who appeared to be a nekomata with blonde hair and ears with green bangs, wearing a green and black dress. Another girl, who looked like a twin of the girl in the red jacket, short pale blonde hair with a black ribbon and wearing a white sleeveless kimono. Another woman with bluish purple hair, pointed ears, and wearing a black shirt and denim jacket. Kuroka took particular note of the nekomata and the purple hair woman.
"Oh, and what did he say, nya?" Kuroka was pretty interested to say the least, considering Shirou never really talked about his past. Granted, she never really thought to ask, but still. Judging from the picture, it appeared to be a happy occasion.
"I think he said that her name was Bazett? Yeah, that was it. He said she was one of his teachers in hand to hand fighting. Along with, that one." Asia said, pointing at the long purple hair woman. "He said, that they were both really strong." Asia said with a smile on her face, remembering the smile on Shirou's face when he talked to her about it.
"Hmm, if Shirou says their strong, then they must be something else, nya. Hmm, wonder if the other girls are strong like them?" She concentrated on each of them for a moment, just in case. A question on her mind, one that she didn't voice, was what happened to them? Was it involved with him being with the church? Was the reason he agreed to help Shirone so quickly because of the nekomata in the picture? She shook her head, "What about the other papers, nya?"
Asia suddenly flinched, remembering where she was after remembering Shirou. A small blush was on her. "Um,..." Asia fumbled with the papers, "these are a bunch of verses, but they aren't in Shirou's handwriting." Her eyes slightly furrowed. She remembered times when she would talk to Shirou about the bible, he did seem pretty knowledgeable. Perhaps, the woman in the picture was the cause. She let a small smile come to her face, 'Shirou never seemed to shy away like many others when I would want to talk about the bible. If that woman was the reason for that, then hopefully I'll be able to thank her, for giving me my first friend.'
"Oh, yeah let's not say those aloud, nya. I don't feel like having a knife pressed into my brain, nya." Kuroka said lightheartedly, though Asia could tell that she wasn't joking as much as she let on. Asia kept smiling as she put the papers and picture into the bible. She took a peek at the last few papers she had, noticing that they looked like blueprints. Some strange symbols she hadn't seen were placed next to the words, 'combination? Untested.'
She let loose a sigh, remembering that the books she had were supposed to be in Shirou's bag, she suddenly felt very guilty about looking through it. She quickly stuffed them back into the bag, quickly grabbing the other book out of Kuroka's hand and doing the same with it. She then zipped up the bag, before slinging it around her shoulder. "Well, I'll just take this to Shirou's room then. I'll be right back." She said with a shaky smile, before darting off.
Kuroka quirked a brow at her behavior, wondering why she was acting that way. She shrugged her shoulders before getting a mischievous smile on her face. She quietly made her way to the room Shirou was in. She had to check on him and make sure he was responding to the healing, no ulterior motives or anything. At least that's what she told herself. She crept over to where he was laying, before moving aside the blankets on top of him.
She did take note that his body was now mostly healed, which was slightly confusing since the damage was so extensive. Then again, using the sage arts healing method with twilight healing had never been done before, so that probably had a lot to do with it. She let out a little snicker as she began to get ready to heal Shirou, loosening her kimono a bit more than it already was. She had just snuggled up next to him, getting ready to start the process.
"What are you doing, Kuroka?" she stiffened up at the sound of Shirou's voice, though this had the unintended effect of her body getting even closer. Shirou brought his free hand up and coughed into it, though Kuroka was pretty sure she could some slight pink dusting begin to emerge on his cheeks. "You know, you'd usually take someone out to dinner before this."
Kuroka's eyes widened, before she began to laugh. "For your information, I was just about to start healing your life force again using senjutsu, nya." She then noticed the moment when Shirou's calm facade broke.
"Did you just say again?" His eyes widening in shock, "Did you violate me in my sleep you crazy vixen!?"
"Pft, and what if I did, nya? Not like you'd know." She began to separate herself from Shirou, "I'll just let your imagination run wild, nya. It's more fun that way." She said as she began to let out small snicker, before the door to Shirou's room opened. Kuroka's face immediately went white, her tail and ears standing on edge completely. She looked to the door and saw her sister standing at the door. Her face looked devoid of emotion, which bothered Kuroka since she was beginning to be more expressive.
As soon as she was about to explain herself, Shirone only said one thing. Though, not even Shirou knew who she was speaking to at that moment. "Pervert." Said in her monotone, though it sent a shiver down both Kuroka and Shirou's spine before she shut the door. Shirou loose a sigh, before thinking to himself, 'I have the worst luck ever.'
After awhile, Shirou managed to take a shower and change into his usual jeans and white and blue long sleeve shirt. As much as he wanted to take a look around the house the girls picked, he knew he had to let everyone know he was alright. He didn't think he'd end up asleep for three days from taxing his body. He figured it'd be a day worst. He let out another sigh, something he found himself doing a lot, hopefully nothing unexpected happens today. A bounded field needs to be set up, then he'll go shopping with the girls to find some furniture, then he'll set up a workshop in the shed.
Perfect plan, except he knew that with the way things were going, something would derail that. He walked into the living room, taking note of some luggage still yet to be moved in. However, what really caught his attention, was the smell of food beginning to be cooked. He followed the smell to the kitchen, noticing that the kitchen was actually way better than his home in Fuyuki. His eyebrow slightly twitched at the thought that he wasn't the one breaking the new kitchen in, but he held it in. Mainly, because of the one cooking.
Behind the stove, was a blonde girl with shoulder length hair. It was obvious she wasn't japanese, looking slightly like Mordred, though Shirou noted that may have just been his mind trying to make comparisons. She was wearing a white blouse with a blue, knee length dress. Over her clothes was Shirou's cooking apron that Asia had bought him when they were still in Italy. He figured, if anyone was going to steal his apron and right to the kitchen it may as well be Le Fay.
With a small smile and a shake of the head, Shirou walked up to the island and took one of the seats, not wanting to interrupt her. As he sat there, he began to think about what everyone was going to do now. Shirou was fine staying home, fortifying the house, and working in his workshop, but he was worried about Asia and Shirone. He idly noted that Le Fay began to hum as she moved around the kitchen, still not noticing his presence behind her.
Now that he thought about it, maybe trying to find them a school to go to would be good for them. Neither of them have really socialized with people their age, or well, much of anyone now that he thought about it. There was a school close by that could work, the question though was how to go about it. Before he could begin to come with an idea, the sound of something dropping on the ground entered his ears. He idly looked up, seeing Le Fay looking at him with wide eyes.
"Shirou-sa..." Before she could finish, Shirou reached across the counter and flicked her forehead. Smiling as she held her hand up to her head. "Ow, you didn't have to flick me Shirou." Her face slightly pouting. Something that made Shirou remember Illya momentarily, shaking his head from going down that path.
"I didn't have too, just like you don't have to call me that." Shirou said as he gave her a small smile. He lifted his hand up and patted her on the head before ruffling her hair. "How have you been Fay?"
Le Fay stepped back from Shirou's hand, bringing her hands up to fix it. With a big smile she replied to him, "Oh, everyone with the team has been having a lot of fun! We've been going to a bunch of different places and seeing all kinds of people. Though, sometimes Arthur gets moody when he can't find someone strong to fight. Speaking of which, Kuroka called right when we were done with our last outing, where I got you a gift!" She happy exclaimed.
Shirou quirked his brow. Wondering what Le Fay would want to give him, considering he never really asked for anything. "Um, you really didn't have to do that Fay. I don't think I'm really deserving of a gift. Especially if its from somewhere you went." After the words left his mouth, Le Fay looked at him with narrowed eyes and a pout. Though the narrowed eyes actually threw him off.
"First of all, a gift isn't given because someone deserves it. Second, you're going to accept it and you are going to love it!" Okay, Shirou was officially scared. Regular girls were bad enough when they were upset, but when said woman or girl was a witch, which Le Fay likes to dress up as, and their magic was powerful? Well, Shirou learned to choose his battles, those involving witches, its better to live another day, so to speak. So, Shirou simply nodded his head.
As if flipping a switch, Le Fay's face brightened up like a star. "Great, watch the food for me while I go get it." Le Fay then skipped out of the room. Once again, Shirou was feeling like he would always be on the losing side of most of his future arguments. Though, he wasn't averse to this. Despite the Holy Grail War, he made a lot of fond memories during that time.
Le Fay then returned a minute later, holding a long box in her hands. Her smile was practically glowing as she sat it on the table. Rather than say anything, she simply stood there, waiting for Shirou to open it. Despite being apprehensive about accepting it, Shirou did feel slightly excited, which was surprising even to him. He stepped forward and opened the locks on the case, lifting the top off.
What lay before him was a beautiful sword of silver steel with red accents. The handle and guard looked similar to Caliburn or Merodach, though the pommel was a red lily. The blade couldn't have been more different though, with it having ruby red edges and the middle being silver steel with black floral designs running up the blade. Shirou placed his hand on the blade, tracing the weapon.
His eyes widened, the sword was a legendary sword. From what he remembered from his world, their was a story about a roman emperor who attacked Britain before being killed by Arthur with Excalibur. Though, he figured that it was just a story, considering the memories of Mordred never showed anything like that. It could have happened before Mordred joined, but he would never know.
Apparently, this world had a situation like that. He wanted to know if there was a Clarent in this world. He hasn't heard anything about it, and the sword in front of him gave him the impression of Clarent. He'd have to do more research.
"It's called Florent. We found it in Rome recently, abandoned in a ruin. Arthur said it was more than a normal sword, but he didn't know what to make of it. So, I suggested we give it to you. You know, to go with all that red you wear." Le Fay said with a smile. She was extremely pleased with Shirou's reaction. As she was about to add something, Asia, Shirone, and Kuroka walked into the room.
Shirou slowly closed the case, thanked Le Fay, before grabbing the case and headed to his room. All the girls blinked at the sudden departure, though for Asia and Shirone, they were just glad that he was up and moving normally. They inwardly breathed a sigh of relief. Le Fay was a bit disappointed she couldn't continue telling Shirou about the sword, but she knew that he understood swords better than anyone.
Kuroka, however, was a bit perplexed about Shirou's actions and, while she wanted to talk to him about it, she didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable. The look on his face was of shock and disbelief. So, she figured whatever happened, was something more of momentary thing. The girls decided to wait until the food was done, before they bothered Shirou. However, just before they could get Shirou, Kuroka stiffened.
"Le Fay, you have to hide me!" Asia, Shirone and Le Fay all looked at Kuroka with puzzled expressions. Kuroka groaned, "There is a devil heading this way! If they notice me, it'll bring on a whole host of problems. Just help me cast an illusion on myself, that way it'll be harder to see through." Le Fay nodded after hearing her explanation. Kuroka making herself look like Atalante. Asia was a bit surprised by the transformation but decided to ignore when the door bell rang.
"Who's going to go answer it?" Le Fay asked quietly. She knew that a devil visiting a group of humans was more than likely for recruitment. While she was fairly confident that Shirou would turn whoever it was down, she knew that some of them were pretty persistent/forceful. Before anyone could speak up, Shirou walked in.
"I'll answer it. You all just enjoy the food. If anything happens, take Asia and Shirone somewhere safe." He spoke, not stopping to hear a reply. He reached the door and proceeded to open the door. Standing in front of him, was a teenage girl with short, black hair wearing glasses. She seemed to be wearing some sort of school uniform. "How may I help you, miss?"
"My name is Souna Shitori, and I wanted to talk to you about maybe joining our school." She said, managing a small smile on her face.
Don't know why, but this one seemed a bit harder to get through than the others. Hopefully next chapter won't be too bad. Shirou did end up passing out for three days because he's an idiot (Medea's words) who used UBW, fired off Merodach, then proceeded to use Clarent and red lightning to fight and kill Kalawarner. He did all of this, while his body was still jacked from using Okita's NP. Also, Florent is from Fate/Prototype, Fragments of Sky Silver. Though this one will be different. It's a pseudo sacred gear. It'll be explained next chapter.
Teaser 1: Demon Slayer: Dance of the Sword Fairy
A teenage girl was walking through the streets of a village. She had a kimono jacket over the standard demon slayer corps uniform. Her jacket depicted pink flowers on the bottom and white clouds against a blue backdrop. She wore only the left sleeve, her right sleeve hanging loose behind her, the sleeve tucked into the belt that tied the jacket closed. The right sleeve of her uniform was rolled up to her elbow, both hands wearing gloves.
The two swords on her hip had identical handles, both being blue with cherry blossom shaped guards. The sheaths being colored white. The nodachi slung behind her back was different, the guard was a red rose and the handle being white and gold. She walked calmly through the streets, not really paying any mind to where her feet led her. She just had to listen for the faintest sound in the darkness.
Her red hair tied into a ponytail began to sway from a sudden wind. Her eyes began to sweep from side to side, her left eye being the color of steel, the other being a golden brown. She steadied herself, knowing what was coming. She began to regulate her breathing, preparing for the attack that was coming. Sure enough, the attack came from behind her.
'Fairy Breathing, first form, fairy dance.' She pulled her two swords from her scabbards, her right hand in a normal grip, her left hand in a reverse grip. Her right leg slid to the right, as she began to spin her body with the momentum, extending her arms out until she was turned all the way around, her body beginning to lower to the ground.
The demon's outstretched arm grabbed air, the extended swords causing the demon to tumble forward to avoid the being killed. Before it could right itself, it heard one step leap forward.
'Fairy Breathing, third form, deva flight.' it turned its head, noticing the twinkles coming from the girl's swords. They grew closer and closer, the demon slayer taking note of a strange look upon the demon's face. Rather than swing both blades, 'Fairy breathing, fifth form, Viviane's embrace' one sword was swung. Though no pain came to the demon. For a moment, it felt like it was looking upon a woman in a lake, with outstretched arms, awaiting him.
The girl sheathed her blades, "Not a drop of blood on them this time around." she idly noted to herself. She looked down at the head of the demon, it beginning to fade away. She kneeled down beside the head. Placing a hand on the top of his head, in a comforting manner. Though she hadn't shown any emotion the whole night, the demon noted that a beautiful smile appeared on her face.
"Why?" the head managed to croak out before his mouth dissipated. The girl simply tilted her head. The smile still present on her face.
"Because even demons need saving." were the words she spoke to him. He noticed that he felt human again, if only for a moment. He closed his eyes, remembering the feeling he felt when the sword passed through him, before darkness took him.
Shiori let out sigh, her face returning to its previous emotionless state. "Now, where is the second one?" She said as she unsheathed the nodachi on her back.
Still a work in progress, haven't decided if I'll keep fairy breathing or switch it with something else. The character is one that I personally like. Demon Slayer would be good to use her in, but Akame ga Kill or even shield hero. A few others, but she is a character I like when I came up with her.
