She was just lying there, her time slowly coming to an end. Miko Nakadai, now 97 years old, was laying in bed with her children and her grandchildren standing beside her, ready to say their goodbyes to the old-aged Asian woman. Her daughter, Mika, grabbed Miko's hand gently and gently stroked her thumb against it. Miko smiles before looking back up at the ceiling, remembering her teenage years. To think that an ordinary human girl would stumble upon an robotic alien race who were currently at war with a faction called 'The Decepticons'.

She smiled at the great memories she had with the Autobots and her now deceased friends, from Miko and Bulkhead dune bashing to Ratchet angry bellowing whenever she played her guitar to her beating the scrap out of Starscream with the apex armour. She had a good life but all good things come to an end eventually and the life she had with the Autobots was no exception.

When the Autobots defeated the 'cons and revived Cybertron, the Autobots returned to their home planet, leaving earth and their human friends behind. Miko felt her eyes begin to close, showing that her time was finally up.

"Jack and Raf, I'm coming." She whispered in Japanese before her eyes closed permanently, symbolising that Miko Nakadai has finally passed from this world.

Waking up with a shudder that passed through his form, Shockwave became aware of his predicament. He brought himself to his pedes, lifting his helm from being laid over his research.

That was illogical.

Shockwave stared at his impromptu recharge table with disbelief, unable to accept that he had overworked himself into forced recharge.

Not only that, but his chronometer had also skipped two entire joors. An amount of time wasted that was completely unforgivable.

"This is unacceptable. A forced recharge to occur? Illogical." Shockwave said as he curled his servo into a fist, unable to believe.

But he sighed, finding no point in mulling over this odd anomaly. He was perfectly aware that he was still able to go on for another deca-cycle, and he adamantly believes that all that time was supposed to be spent advancing his research.

But something odd had occurred and two entire joors had been wasted to recharge of all things!

Shockwave filed the anomaly for investigation later, for now, he must continue on with his research while he waited for the energon which that fool, Starscream, was supposed to deliver to him three solar cycles ago.

He, however, grew increasingly bored.

Illogical. I should not get bored with my project.

Ignoring the feeling in his spark, Shockwave continued ironing out any problems that might arise before they would have a chance to.

But as time went on, the feeling grew stronger.

The repetition of his actions made this feeling stronger, and he couldn't help but attend to it.

With a reluctant sigh, Shockwave let go of his project.

And somehow, a feeling of excitement welled within.

Illogical.

But he pressed on, following this feeling in his spark. He had to do something.

Something that he knew wasn't what he would do.

The lab was quiet, too quiet.

But he had no way of playing music. Oh what he would do to listen to slash monkey, go dune bashing with Bulkhead, have Ratchet yell at him for playing the guitar…

Wait…

Shockwave looked down at his one servo and arm cannon. Flashes of human hands briefly replaced them.

Why am I… Shockwave?

His optic flickered, his spark raging at the thought.

I am Shockwave… right?

Confusion warred inside his spark. Something was wrong, he knew he IS Shockwave. There's no doubt that this feeling of power, the claws, the arm cannon and the voice!

But why can't he accept that? His very being rages at the notion of being anything else than himself. Of... who?

Aren't I…Miko?

Memories came flooding in, memories of herself. Of Miko Nakadai.

Her life growing alongside Jack Darby and Rafael 'Gonzalez' Esquivel. Her music that she had crafted with her own hands.

Music that came led her to meeting her husband. Marrying him. Getting children. Getting grandchildren.

Her children's and grandchildren's own tears as she lay on the deathbed.

And finally. Blissful darkness.

Miko looked down again, towards the claws and arm cannon that she now has fully under her control. She knew this was definitely wrong. She's in the past, in a different body, and is on the completely wrong faction…

"What. The actual. Fuck?"

"Okay Miko… calm down."

Miko took deep breaths, intakes as her logic-driven processor so helpfully informed, thus making her beating spark slowly quelled its erratic beats, panic almost overtaking her mind.

Miko looked downwards, unable to believe her own eyes- optic, that it is truly the one-eyed 'con's body that she's currently controlling...

No, she's not just controlling the body. Not at all…

She felt like she is the rightful owner of the body. Something within was adamant of that fact and Miko knew that whatever was of Shockwave's real consciousness is melded with her own, making her confused about how this is possible yet her other part vehemently agreed with her own in its own, very much Shockwave's way of thought.

"I'm gonna get a processor-ache if this goes on for any longer..."

Putting a clawed servo to her helm, Miko tried to massage the pain away. Except, that only works on humans.

And currently, her human habits and this body's habits were intermingled in such a way that it was confusing to separate which part was her and which part was Shockwave's.

The other part of her whispered that it would be logical to let it be and Miko couldn't help but agree. Either that was of her own will or the combined part of her, she doesn't know.

The cold, emotionless and intimidating figure of Shockwave went to the recharge berth and sat down with the grating of metal on metal, mind and spark a whirlwind of emotions and thoughts.

Miko took a look at her chronometer, affirming that no, she was not stranded on Cybertron, at least not yet.

From what Arcee had told her, she and Cliffjumper were captured by the 'cons and sent to her- Shockwave's laboratory for interrogation before the two escaped and used and destroyed the spacebridge to prevent the 'cons from reaching earth but not before Arcee shot the one-eyed freak's optic, blinding him and being left by the Decepticons for him to rust alone on Cybertron. Miko shuddered at the fact that she'll go through that as well.

[Shockwave.] The annoying and unmistakable voice of Starscream emitted from the console, gaining her attention. Miko approaches the console and places a digit on said console.

"What is it, Starscream?" Miko asked in annoyance while she also feared what's coming up next.

[I brought you the energon you require for the spacebridge as well as two Autobots carrying valuable intel regarding the whereabouts of Optimus Prime for you to extract.]

Arcee and Cliffjumper.

"I will be with you momentarily." Miko replied before he hung up. Miko places a servo on her optic like a human would with their face. She knew she would have to use the cortical psychic patch on Arcee. Not only she'll have to harm Arcee but she has no idea how to operate the psychic patch. That is until she recalled Shockwave's memories as if they were her own, memories of the cortical psychic patch, its creation and how to operate it.

So I get to look into the 'con's memories to help me with things I usually don't understand? Awesome.

Miko turns to the door to the main chamber where Arcee, Cliffjumper and Starscream are waiting. Miko was not going to enjoy this

Welp, time to rip the Band-Aid off.

Miko, with the powerful form of Shockwave, makes her way to the main chamber to see Arcee, that whiney bitch, Starscream, and a red Autobot, Cliffjumper no doubt. Miko inwardly smiled at the sight of her old friend but she gave her a glare, not that Miko blames her because she's in the body of one of the most dangerous Decepticons of all time.

"We may be in a little more trouble than I thought." Cliffjumper commented before Starscream walked in front of the two Autobots.

"Autobots, say hello to Shockwave." the seeker introduced the 'bots, gesturing to Miko. After Arcee and Cliffjumper were restrained to the medical berths, Starscream (of course) began bragging about his recent achievements.

God, does this guy ever shut up?

"Delivering a mountain of energon, intercepting an encrypted Autobot communique and capturing two key prisoners is impressive, I admit. But lord Megatron expects nothing less from his first lieu-"

Starscream shuts up when he saw the look that Miko, or Shockwave in his optics, was giving him.

"I should let you work, right? No doubt you are trying to concentrate. Carry on."

Miko shook her helm and grabbed the cortical physic patch from her- Shockwave's table and hooked it up to the terminal with Starscream approaching her with uncertainty.

"Um, Shockwave. Are you certain you can extract the decryption code without nullifying our subject's neural net?"

"I INVENTED the cortical physic patch! I am familiar with its idiosyncrasies." Miko bellowed in anger, letting the Shockwave side of her take over, before approaching Arcee who began to struggle out of her restraints in panic.

"Keep that thing away from me you one-opticed freak!"

I want to but I have to do this.

"Leave her alone! Use it on me!" Cliffjumper said to the human controlled cybertronian who turns to the Autobot.

"Do not worry, Autobot. If her mind doesn't survives the procedure, you will be next."

And with that Miko inserted the other end of the cortical psychic patch into Arcee's mind as Cliffjumper attempts to break free and rescue her.

Sorry, Cee.

A little later, a bunch of encrypted letters appeared on the terminal, bringing a grin to Starscream's face.

"Ah, the code."

Miko then detaches the cord from Arcee's mind and sets it aside, thus making Arcee's body go motionless which Arcee told her that she played dead to fool Starscream and Shockwave.

"Arcee!" Cliffjumper cried before he turns to Miko and Starscream in anger.

"I'll scrap you both!"

"Shut up! I'm trying to listen." Starscream hissed at the Autobot before turning his helm back to the monitor which played the voice message provided by Optimus Prime himself.

Miko's mind trails off from reality. It felt awful to help the ones who wanted to conquer her home planet after she helped the Autobots to protect it. And it felt awful to know you are destined to be marooned on a dead planet for five years, five fuking years. If time travel movies taught her anything, it is to be extremely careful of the butterfly effect. She knew that if she was in the past then every decision she makes might change said past and as a result, the future.

For example, if Miko doesn't go after Arcee and Cliffjumper l, she won't be marooned on Cybertron and create Predaking for the Predacon played a key part of Cybertron's restoration with a rebuilt omega lock after Optimus destroyed it when Megatron attempted to cyberform Earth after the Decepticons traded her, Jack and Raf to the Autobots for the omega keys…

But what if…

What if SHE gets to the omega keys first? Then she doesn't have to worry about the 'cons cyberforming Earth, about Optimus destroying the omega lock. Sure finding a way to give the keys to team prime would be difficult but she is controlling the greatest mind to ever exist on Cybertron. She might even find the other Iacon relic in the process, since she, for whatever reason, has the locations in her processor. Right now, Miko has the power to change the war right in her finger tips.

"-Now is the time to strike."

Miko was brought back to reality when she heard Starscream's shrill voice. Miko now knows what she has to do. Let phase one of her plan begin.

Miko then turns to Cliffjumper.

"As much as it would be beneficial to dispose of you for being no longer of use to us, it is more logical to turn my attention elsewhere." Miko declared before exiting the laboratory, leaving the 'bots and 'con alone and thanks to Shockwave's memories, she knows exactly where the spacebridge is located.

Not only that, Miko knows for a fact that Arcee and Cliffjumper already broke free by now and are heading to the spacebridge.

Right on queue, Arcee and Cliffjumper are attempting to sabotage the spacebridge and like Arcee said, Cliffjumper was keeping the vehicons operating the system busy while Arcee was overriding the energon containment protocols. Perfect.

Cliffjumper turns his back on the vehicons to face Miko in the form of Shockwave.

"Only Starscream can fail to dispose of a helpless captive."

The sudden sparking of the malfunctioning spacebridge and a strange sound was heard by her, Cliffjumper and the vehicons. They saw Arcee messing with the controls and Cliffjumper asks if it's supposed to sound like that before she pushes Cliffjumper aside and throws Arcee out of the way.

A battle later ensued which eventually led to Cliffjumper to be completely helpless and at Miko's mercy. Miko points Shockwave's arm cannon at the red mech.

"There is more than one way to nullify a neural net, Cliffjumper." Miko said to the Autobot who looked at her in an optic ridge raised in confusion.

"Do I know you?"

"No but I know you and I am truly sorry for it has to be this way. Forgive me."

The barrel of Shockwave's arm cannon began to glow purple before Arcee shot her energon blaster above Miko before the debris fell on her, which she was counting on.

"I knew this would happen but this still hurts. Fuck." Miko whispered before digging herself out of the rubble to see Arcee and Cliffjumper running into the spacebridge portal which was becoming more and more unstable by the minute.

"Time to bail!"

Miko began to run from the spacebridge and followed the Decepticons just before it exploded, sending her flying from the blast but thanks to Shockwave's powerful body, she received little to no damage. Miko recovers from the destroyed spacebridge which was up in flames. Miko then turns and walks away to report the Autobots have escaped and the spacebridge, the Decepticons' only means of reaching Earth, destroying Optimus Prime and conquering Earth, was in ruins.

Phase one: completed.
