Frost and Shadow

He was all alone and no one knew he was until he became 288 years old when he gained a little shadow while out in a forest bring winter. A little shadow who he came to love and care for, a shadow who died and joined him in his immortal life. The pair then taken on a journey with the guardians where they need to figure out who they are and how they feel for one another.

1. chapter one

Jack's POV

It's been a rough 288 years since I woke up as Jack Frost meaning that I've spent 288 years alone, unseen and unheard by anyone other than others like me and animals. I'm lonely.

I'm currently walking through a snowy forest after just bringing a snow day to the world. I heard a soft giggle like sound come from behind me I turn but see nothing so I continue on my lonely way only to stop hearing the sound again. What is that? I hear a twig snap as though someone had stepped on it while following me. I decided to keep walking just as I arrive at a frozen lake I here yet another giggle followed by a twig snapping so I turn around again... Nothing. I float a little hovering above the lake, deciding that it's been a long day and I'm hearing things I head to the pole.

I'm almost away from the town when I hear a panicked cry and ice cracking I spin round there in front of me is a small child struggling to hold themself up in the freezing cold water. I swoop down and scoop the child out of the water and into my arms before landing on the soft snow at the edge of the lake. I sit down cradling the child, who I now see is a small girl around 5 years old with long brown hair. Her eyes are shut tight and her hands clasp tightly to my hoodie as she shivers and shakes crying softly. "Hey, hey. It's okay. You're safe. Shhh. You're okay." I whisper softly, gently rubbing circles on her back and direct the winds away from us trying to warm her up a little. Eventually she stills and gives a little hiccup. "Th-thank you. For saving me." a soft voice whispers. "you're welcome... Wait, can you see me?" I gasp in shock when she nods "You can hear me?" again she nods. I feel my face split in a wide grin as I give a gentle cry of happiness. "Why wouldn't I be able to see or hear you sir?" she pulls away from my chest to look at "Well no one has for a long time. I'm Jack Frost by the way." I tell her, laughing a little when her eyes widen "Really? You're really? But Mama said you were just a story but I never thought you were, I told her you were real." she claps with a happy smile on her face. I nod and smile with her. "So kiddo, what's your name and what were you doing out here?" I rise an eyebrow as she squirms a little under my gaze."Rebecca. And I erm I was playing then I saw you and wanted to see what you were doing so I followed you then I saw you fly and forgot to look where I was going." she admits. "So you were the one giggling and following me." she nods with a shy smile. "Well then little Shadow, I think it's time to get you home." I collect her up in my arms alongside my staff then fly into the skies with my Shadow directing me towards her home.
