Frost and Shadow

He was all alone and no one knew he was until he became 288 years old when he gained a little shadow while out in a forest bring winter. A little shadow who he came to love and care for, a shadow who died and joined him in his immortal life. The pair then taken on a journey with the guardians where they need to figure out who they are and how they feel for one another.

2. chapter two

3rd Person POV

It has been 12 years since the day Jack Frost discovered and saved his first believer. And together the two of them stayed together Rebecca was Jack's little shadow always following him and copying him. She brought a feeling of love and family to Jack while he brought fun and safety to her. It was her 17th birthday and Jack planned on making it a fun filled day for her. During the night he had decided that today he would give her a snow day and then take her to the forest where they first met.

Jack flow to her window seeing her still asleep, of course he thought she's always asleep... She really is nocturnal, my little shadow he smiles slipping into her room and shaking her awake "Time to get up, Shadey" he quietly states only for her to roll over, he sighs before smirking and forming a snowball in his hand then swiftly putting it down the back of her top payback. It was only last year she had done the very same thing to the winter sprite but with a hot towel... To see if he would melt. "Agh! Jack!!!" she growls before sending a heated glare at the teen then pounce on him pinning him to the ground "NEVER, EVER WAKE ME UP ESPECIALLY LIKE THAT!" she yells in his face. He chuckles apologising "Okay I'm sorry Shadow I just wanted you to get up so that I could show you your birthday surprise." at this she clams then with a roll of his eyes she helps him up and grumbles a 'let me change, Frostbite.'

Soon after Rebecca comes out wearing here ususal attire - skinny jeans, tank top, checked shirt and hiking boots. Her hair was in her signature plait but today she had pulled a dark grey beanie over. Walking towards Jack she takes his hand and together they leave her home and out into the snow.

Jack's POV

Rebecca comes out dressed as she always does, today the colours consist of blue, black and grey - a light blue tank top, a dark blue and black checked shirt over the top, black skinny jeans that she's tucked into her charcoal grey hiking boots. Her hair as always is in a plait - just the way I like it - and today she seems to have added a beanie in a dark grey colour, she looks stunning as she always does. Over the years we've known one another my feelings towards her have grown and changed when she was younger I loved her like a sister and was protective of her - people picked on her and bullied her lots and I helped - then she got older and more beautiful, my feelings become stronger my love for her grow into a love that I think is unbeatable. Together we go out in the snow and I realise that she always comes out without a jacket. "Are you not cold, Shadow?" I wonder out loud. "Nope. Why are you?" I smile "No but I make the cold, you don't." she waves me off.

Finally reaching the edge of the lake I pulled her out of all those years ago. She looks out over the distance landscape. "Thank you Jack." she softly says to the air in front of us. "Whatever for, Shadow?" I ask confused. She places her head on my shoulder, placing a hand on my knee "Thank you for save me all those years ago. Thank you for staying with me after that. Thank you for helping me through the tough times. Most of all thank you for bringing the snow and the winter. Thank you for being you." I was shocked. Why does she sound like she's saying goodbye...

"You're welcome, kiddo. I'll always be here for you, always. I should be thanking you." "For what? I didn't do anything" " Thank you for being my friend, for believing in me, for putting up with me and most of all being you, my little wired shadow. "

After this we sit silently before I grow bored. I decide on ice skating.

I skate with Rebecca for a long time loving the way her smile brightens the my world. The sky soon turns dark meaning that it was time for me to take my shadow home. We both hate this time a day. We both sigh. I get off the ice assuming that as she always does Rebecca was shadowing me however when I turn around, surprisingly she's not behind me but she's still on the ice slowly spinning in circles. "Rebecca!" I call out to her "It's time to get going." she pouts but starts to make her way to me. She puts her foot down and in that second we make eye contact the ice breaks and she's gone. "NOOOOOO!!!" i cry in despiration as I fly as fast as I can trying to repeat the save I made the first time we met. When I said I wanted to repeat that day I didn't mean this part. Please, please don't... don't let me lose her. I get to the gap and dive in, there just in front of me I see her she's trying to swim back to the top but her leg is caught. She looks at me with a look I can't quite decipher. I get to her and she smiles softly and as I go to untie her leg she grips my face gently. I give her a confused look getting a smile and a shake of her head. Why doesn't she want me to help her? As I'm about to pull away from her, I feel something soft and warm on my lips. She's kissing me and I'm kissing back. When she pulls away her eyes are closed and she has a happy smile on her lips but she's not breathing. I refuse to let her go working quickly I have her out of the lake and cradled in my lap as tears fall from my eyes on to her face. "wake up, please. Wake up." I beg her. I don't know when but I fell asleep with the girl I have loved and will always love close to my heart. I'm so sorry.
