Rebecca's POV
I was having so much fun with Jack skating on the ice that even though I knew it was time to go yet I didn't want to leave so I stayed spinning slowly in circles. "Rebecca!" I hear Jack call out to me "Time to go." I sigh but turn with a pout making my way to him but as I do I see the ice and know what's coming so I glance up at Jack making eye contact trying to show all my emotions in this final glance as we do I go in. Daja vu. I try desperately to swim back out but I discovered my leg is tangled and I can't escape, I'm going to die but at least I'm got to know such an amazing person like Jack. Oh Jack. I look up and meet exactly who I was thinking of. He swims to me and I smile, he goes to let me free but it will take too long as I can feel my lungs burn... I'm out of oxygen. I grab his face gently, he looks at me confused and even though I know he won't be able to work out my feelings I try to tell him everything I have ever wished to tell him then bring him in for a kiss. I love Jack Frost. I always have and I always will. My eyes close when he kisses back then all I know is darkness and my last thought is of the white haired, fun-loving teen spirit.
I don't know how long it's been but soon the darkness is pieced by a bright, white light... The Moon. I don't know what happened but I do know that I love, want and need Jack.
"It's okay Rebecca. You are okay. You're now Shadow. You're job is to aid and protect the Guardians as well as the children in the world. I'm Manny or Man in the Moon. I will be here whenever you need me." then I take a deep breath at first I panic but then I recognise where I am. I feel someone's arms around me and turn coming face to face with Jack. Payback...
Jack's POV
I wake to a snowball down the back of my hoodie. I spring up looking around panicking only to be met with a girl... No I was met with Rebecca. "SHADOW!!!" I cry out in pure happiness then wrap her in an embrace. "I thought you died. I thought I had lost you." I cry into her hair as she rubs my back calming me. "It's okay, you're okay. I'm okay. However I am dead. I'm like you now. My name's Shadow." I laugh with her at her name. "My shadow. I love you." I say in her hair, kissing her lightly. "Good. Because I love you too." and we share a swift yet passionate kiss.
My immortal life was finally perfect.
I realise that Rebecca is dressed in what she died wearing but now has the added of a long black cloak with an oversized hood but it's not plain no it has indicate designs made of blues, greys and whites covering it. Her hair is still the same but a white stripe at the front and her blue eyes have sparkling with light blue that matches mine. "Stunning..." I whisper "What was that?" I blush "I said that you look stunning." she smiles "Thank you." Then I noticed that she has a weapons belt crossing her torso and waist (A/N: like the Easter Bunny except she has one over both shoulders and one around her waist.) All full with different weapons and equipment - from two daggers to two whips to a small version of my staff to some eggs to small throwing knives.

It's been a few months since Rebecca joined me in this life and together we've figured out her powers and used it to cause a lot of mischief and fun. She "shadows" or copies others, if she sees it she can do the same and edit it to fit her and her purpose. She's awesome. Currently we're bored and have decided to have a little fun. SNOWBALL FIGHT!!! Some of the local kids were the ones with targets on their backs and we were aiming well. It was going great then the kid, Jamie, lost his tooth. We both share a look and sigh, it always happens. That night we both look through his window where he's telling his little sister Sophie about his day. What I would give to have a family. I have Rebecca but to have a family as well. A hand is placed comfortingly on my arm and I follow it coming face to face with an Angel. My Shadow. Together we tight rope walked across the power lines as Sandman's dream sand fills the air "Right on time, Sandman." we say in unison. Then a shadow rushes past us. Whoa. With a nod we follow it. We arrive in the middle of an old ally way. We stand back to back ready for an attack.
"Hello, mate." an Australian voice says we turn and see the silhouette of a Bunny spinning a boomerang. Uh!
"Been a long time.[Steps from the shadows] Blizzard of '68, I believe. Easter Sunday, wasn't it?" Easter Bunny continues, I feel the confused look Shadow throws me but I don't answer, yet.
"Bunny! You're not still mad about that - are ya?" I ask leaning casual on my staff letting Rebecca know that there's no threat. She relaxes some but not completely as if she is expecting an attack. "Yes. But this is about something else. Fellas?" What?
"Hey! Put me down! What the- ugh! " I shout hearing Rebecca growl as I'm pushed into a sack soon joined by her.
We hear Bunny say though the sack muffles it "Me? Hehehe... Not on your nelly. See ya back at the Pole."
"The Pole?" Rebecca asks me. "Santa's workshop, I think." I answer her. We feel ourselves get tossed. Then land heavily on wooden ground. Ow.
"He's here! Quiet! Hey...! There he is! Jack Frost!" we hear a heavy accent say as we open the sack peeking out of the bag. In front of us is Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny and Sandman.
"Wow... You gotta be kidding me. [Yetis hoist him up to stand] Hey hey! Put me down!" I gasp and order as Shadow struggles against me
North speaks "I hope the Yetis treated you well?"
"Oh yeah, We love being shoved in a sack and tossed through a magic portal." I say sarcasticly as Rebecca stands ready for an attack.
"Oh. Good! That was my idea. You know Bunny, obviously."
He murmurs
"Obviously." I say
"And the Tooth Fairy-" he is interrupted by said person
"Hello Jack! I've heard a lot about you, and your teeth!" she says excitedly
"My- my what?" I ask slightly scared
"Open up! Are they really as white as they say? Yes- Oh! Oh they really do sparkle like freshly fallen snow. [Tooth Fairies swoon again.] Girls, pull yourself together. Let's not disgrace the uniform." she continues. Rebecca growls warning her to back off when she puts her fingers in my mouth.
North picks up where he left off "And Sandman. Sandy? Sandy? [Nudges him as he sleep-hovers.] Wake up!" Sandman startles awake and descends to the floor. I hear Rebecca aww quietly next me. "Hey! Woah! Anyone wanna tell us why we're here?" Rebecca asks with a harden look on her delicate features. Sandman tries to explain but I get lost thanking him for trying. While Rebecca mutters a "who?" and "We are not cut out for this."
3rd Person POV
Rebecca watches as Jack taps an elf with his staff to make it freeze, typical she rolls her eyes. "I must've done something really bad to get you four together- Wha-? Am I on the Naughty List?" he asks knowing that if it was both of them it is most likely his idea that got them there.
North exclaims "Hah! On Naughty List? You hold record. But! No matter, we overlook. Now we are wiping clean the slate." Rebecca is now interested stepping closer to Jack. "How come?" both teens say in unison.
Bunny grumbles "Hah, good question."
" How come? I tell you how come! Because now, you are Guardian!" North exclaims "Both of you."
Yetis raise up lit poi sticks and the elves begin music playing.
Jack starts to freaking out a little as two Tooth Fairies bring Jack a snowflake-necklace, possibly cut out of paper. So Rebecca becomes protective and steps in front of Jack growling again, scaring the Fairies.
North continues as if nothing is happening "This is the best part!" Elves march around. The yetis with poi sticks walk closer to Jack, then behind him. They prop him up on his spot in the middle of the Guardian symbol. Jack is confused as two elves want him to put on a pair of shoes. Causing Rebecca to laugh a little. North is still delighted as the yetis present him with a book. The Tooth Fairies twitter, Sandy toasts Jack and Rebecca with eggnog, and Bunny rolls his eyes.
Jack becomes upset, slamming his staff down and freezing all of the performers. "What makes you think we wanna be Guardians?" he asks annoyed. North laughs loudly. Bunny laughs nervously along, then becomes serious again.
North "Of course you do. Music!" At the snap of his fingers the elves begin again.
"No music!" Jack shouts as Rebecca flings her hands out sending an eerie blast of silence with it - her emotions creating raw powers - the music dies rapidly.
Jack tries to cover the feeling Rebecca created "This is all very flattering, but, uh... You don't want me. You're all hard work and deadlines. And I'm... snowballs and fun times. I'm not a Guardian."
"Yeah. Same with me. Plus I'm still trying learn my powers. And I don't know, trust or like you guys." Rebecca states unfazed by the looks given to her. Jack chuckles "Don't mess with her. She didn't even believe in most of you when she was human. She didn't see the point of the Easter Bunny nor the tooth fairy. She never heard of the Sandman. And stopped believing in Santa when she was seven cause she found it creepy how an old man watched people." Rebecca looks at Jack silently asking if this was the truth. He nods.
"Hah! That's exactly what I said about you Jack!" Bunny says
"I don't think you understand what it is we do." Tooth indicates the Globe. "Each of those lights is a child-"
North continues for Tooth "A child who believes. And good or bad, Naughty or Nice, we protect them."
Jack "Ah- ah-"
North sighs "Tooth, fingers out of mouth."
"Oh, sorry! Heh, they're beautiful!"
North gives up "Okay no more wishy washy, Pitch is out there doing who knows what!"
"Who?" Rebecca asks tilting her head in confusion having no memory of someone called Pitch.
"You mean th-the Boogey Man?" Jack begins to chuckle lightly but stops when North says "Yes! When Pitch threatens us, he threatens them as well!"
Both teens response with "All the more reason to pick someone more qualified!"
North asks "Pick? You think we pick?! No! You were chosen! Like we were all chosen! By Man in Moon."
"What?" Jack asks
Tooth says "Last night, Jack, he chose you. Alongside with someone we didn't know or recognise but were told would be with you. We see that she is Rebecca?" she trails off in a question unsure of Rebecca's name, said girl nods.
"Maybe." Bunny grumbles
Jack asks "Man in the Moon, he, uh… he talks to you?"
"You see, you cannot say no. It is Destiny." North states
Jack "W-Why, why wouldn't he tell me that himself? [Groans.] After 300 years, this is his answer? To spend eternity like you guys, cooped up in some- some hideout, thinking of- of new ways to bribe kids? No, no, that's not for me! No offense." Rebecca chuckles.
Bunny: "How- how- How is that not offensive? You know what I think, I- I think we just dodged a bullet. I mean what's this clown know about bringing joy to children anyway?"
Jack and Rebecca response with "Uh, you ever hear of a snow day? I know it's no... hardboiled egg, but kids like what I do."
Bunny answers back with "But none of 'em believe in ya. Do they? Y'see, you're invisible, mate - it's like you don't even exist."
Tooth gasps "Bunny! Enough."
"No, the kangaroo's right." Jack says
Bunny "The- the what? What'd you call me? I'm not a kangaroo, mate."
"Oh! And this whole time I thought you were. If you're not a kangaroo, what are you?" Jack mocks him
" I'm a bunny. The Easter Bunny. People believe in me."
[silence]
Sandman: [Blows out his cheeks, then gestures to North to do something.]
North orders Jack to walk with him.
As Jack is being told about finding his center the others, mainly Bunny, are being told off by Shadow.
The other guardians watch as Jack and North leave together when suddenly a voice behind them scolds "That was uncalled for!" They all turn around and are faced with a scowling Shadow. "What do you mean?" Bunny asks
"I mean that you went too far. You don't know anything, especially about Jack." she answers in a soft tone suddenly appearing in front of his face, Bunny scoffs.
"Even so, I'm right no one believes in him." Arrogant toe rag Rebecca sneers mentally. "You're wrong." she whispers.
"I'm sorry what?"
"YOU'RE WRONG!" she screams hurting his ears as an energy blast shakes the room, she pants heavily. "You're wrong. I believe in him. I have for a long time." Rebecca continues softly.
"But you're like us, it's not the same." Bunny misunderstand
"I've only just become like this, a few months ago. I've known Jack since I was 5. He tried to save me but I didn't let him." a lone tear makes its way down her cheek and before anyone could comfort her or comment she melts into the shadows navigating her way to Jack. Once with him she clings to his hoodie as she always has done silently sobbing into his neck. "Shh. It's okay. I'm here. I've got you. You're okay." he comforts. Behind North smiles watching the two interact.
