"Thanks for dinner And for letting me borrow your pajamas." Jason says as the group is in Craig's room.
"Yeah well don't get toothpaste on them or anything. And here's your blanket. You can lay it right here on the floor." Craig says as he hands Jason a blanket and pillow.
"But uh you have a bunk bed." Jason says as Alexis looks at Craig.
"Oh. Yeah I need both of these. You see it's important to have choices. Some nights I feel a bit full so I wanna be closer to the ground. Other nights I'm flying high after dessert. So I just wanna lay up top." Craig says as Alexis glares at him.
"Craig?" Alexis asks before Craig sighs.
"You can take the top bunk." Craig says before Alexis shakes her head and leaves.
*Timeskip*
"Ah. Good night time snack. Filling but light." Alexis says quietly as she is getting out a plate and some crackers.
"What are you doing?" A voice asks startling Alexis before she sees Jason.
"Jason!? What are you doing down here? I thought you were in bed?" Alexis asks.
"I couldn't sleep. What are you doing?" Jason asks curiously.
"Making a snack. I get hungry sometimes at night. You want some?" Alexis asks as she puts some crackers on a plate.
"Sure. Listen I'm sorry for all the trouble today. I know we're not really friends, but I appreciate you all letting me stay over here. Your family is so... nice. Everyone gets along." Jason says.
"Yeah? Doesn't your family?" Aledis asks curiously as she and Jason sit down in the living room floor.
"Not exactly. I know you can't choose who your family is. But if I could I'd choose one like yours." Jason says.
"What are you talking about Jason?" Alexis asks curiously.
"Well I feel like my dad only pays attention to me when he wants to brag about me to his co-workers. And sometimes I feel like my step mom wishes I was a Chihuahua." Jason says.
"A Chihuahua?" Alexis asks curiously.
"Yeah. She has like four of them and trains them as a hobby. So maybe she's more comfortable around them." Jason says as he looks down.
"I'm sorry. I never knew." Alexis says.
"It's okay. I know we never really got off to the right foot." Jason says as Alexis chuckles slightly.
"Well if it makes you feel any better I know that feeling. You know I'm adopted but honestly something I'll never tell Craig and his family is that I sometimes wish I never lost my birth family so I could still be with them. But that doesn't mean I don't love the family I'm with now. You are correct about not choosing family but doesn't mean we can't choose our friends." Alexis says as she smiles at Jason.
"Really? You'd be friends with me?" Jasok asks in surprise.
"Yeah. I don't like that you always boss people around so much but I understand it's because you don't wanna see people hurt." Alexis says.
"Yeah... Alexis can I tell you something?" Jason asks nervously.
"Sure. What's up?" Alexis asks curiously.
"Well part of the reason I act more well protective over you in the Creek is because I like you." Jason says while blushing.
"What?" Alexis asks in surprise.
"I've had a crush on you for a while. But I understand you probably don't feel the same. I just wanted you to know. Anyway I'm gonna go back to bed. Thank you for sharing your snack." Jason says shyly as he stands up.
"N-No problem. Goodnight Jason." Alexis says nervously.
"Goodnight Alexis." Jason says as he leaves.
"He likes me?" Alexis asks curiously.
