It was hot in the classroom and all students were just waiting for the last day to finally end. The teacher was trying his best to keep his student's attention, but she didn't seem really bothered by it neither, certainly relieved to know that it was the last time she was going to see them, or maybe she was a bit sad.

Sasuke didn't care about any of it. He was thinking about how high school was finally over and how college had to be much more interesting than that. He sighed in boredom and he heard some stupid girl giggling, whispering something to another girl next to her, while looking at him, blushing.

"Tch," the sound was contemptuous and he heard a familiar laugh next to him.

"Don't be so cold, you can't be mad at a poor girl who wets her pants thinking that maybe, you will go out with her in her wildest dreams," Naruto smiled brightly, looking very amused.

"Shut up, Naruto," Sasuke snapped and he tried to tell his heart to stop beating anytime he was seeing this beautiful smile on this beautiful face.

"Don't be like that, bastard, not my fault if you're that handsome."

"I don't care about her," he said loud enough for the girl to hear and the sadness on her face didn't move him at all.

"Poor girl… Anyway, are you free after school? It's the last day and it's our last day being in the same class, what about we go to my flat? I will take some photos of us, y'know, not to forget our last moment together!"

Sasuke's heart broke a little. It was, indeed, their last moment together as classmates. He was going to college while Naruto was going to do a two years formation in photography. Sasuke had been impressed by Naruto, how he worked and fought to be accepted in one of the toughest formations to go in. But Naruto was talented, very talented and Sasuke didn't doubt for a second that Naruto was capable of it.

But it also means that it was unlikely for them to see each other in the future and it was hard to accept.

Because Sasuke was in love and he didn't want to be in love.

He couldn't be gay. His parents would never accept it, accept a male partner for him, it wasn't what they had planned for him. He was going to have his degree in two or three years, work at his parents' company, he will marry a woman that his parents would most likely choose for him and have children, so his parents would be proud.

Thankfully, he wasn't gay. He just happened to love Naruto and he didn't care about girls. For now, it will come with time, he was sure of it.

"I'm free."

"What about this summer? I'm sure you're not, but, well, I can dream to have it with my friends, right?"

"I'm free too. My parents said it was okay to enjoy it as it was probably to be the last."

"Your parents are scary."

"They are serious. Unlike you."

"Hey! Not my fault if procrastinating is important for me!"

When the last bell rang, the loud noise of the chairs and tables being pushed hurt Sasuke's ears, but he was feeling thrilled too. After all, the boredom was over, at least for a while and the perspective of a summer with Naruto was thrilling. It would be a perfect way to say goodbye to his childish feelings, before he had to forget them.

"Come on, Sasuke, let's go! We're freeeeeeeeee!" Naruto screamed, running out of the building.

"Sasuke-kun," a small voice tried to catch his attention, but he didn't stay. He didn't care.

He ran behind Naruto, smiling at the joy that was emanating from the boy in front of him.

All he wanted was to feel free, free to run, free to do what he wanted.

Free to love.

*'*

They were all sweaty once they were finally at Naruto's flat.

It was tiny, but strangely tidy and organized, not adjectives that someone would put for the blond tornado.

Naruto was living alone since the death of his guardian, Jiraiya. He was the one who gave Naruto his love for photography and his sense of humor, according to Naruto.

Naruto had come a long, long way, to get here. He was a very angry child, Sasuke remembered, always fighting the bullies and protecting the ones who were bullied. At first, young Sasuke couldn't care less about Naruto, his parents had told him he was a trouble child, only in the same school as their children because Jiraiya had money. As if Sasuke wasn't here because of money either.

Then, one day, Sasuke had hurt himself and he was on the verge of tears, not able to get up by himself. He didn't know how to ask for help, because big boys didn't cry and didn't have to ask for anything, they had to do it on their own, because even if Sasuke was little, he wasn't a child anymore and he couldn't act like one either. He had to be like Itachi, who was a genius and was capable to take care of himself.

But he couldn't and he didn't know what to do and Naruto came and saved him. The blonde dried his tears and helped him to get back on his feet and since then, they have been inseparable.

Even if they had nothing in common, but it was the reason Sasuke loved having Naruto by his side. With him, he could forget he was a Uchiha that had to act like this or that. Naruto didn't care. Naruto wanted to be his friend, even if Sasuke wasn't perfect.

So, of course. Of course, he had fallen in love.

He remembered it was in middle school, when seeing Naruto with even more bruises that the day before, broke his heart and made him very, very angry. He had helped Naruto disinfecting the wounds and it was the first time he had wanted to kiss him.

And it never stopped.

A few years later, late at night, under his blanket, his erected cock in his hand, thinking of Naruto, how he would kiss, lick, thrust inside of him, he knew he couldn't deny it. But it was wrong.

So wrong.

So, he said nothing. He didn't even know if Naruto felt the same, after all. For his greatest pleasure, Naruto didn't seem interested in girls. Nor boys. Not in anybody in fact and it was more than okay for him. Naruto was his like this.

Just his.

"Do you want something to drink? Eat? I have some soda and cookies, you know the ones you like. The only ones you like, actually."

"Water and cookies will be fine."

"Okay, well, I will take some soda, mister diet."

"I'm not dieting."

"So, how do you explain this gorgeous body of yours?"

"Gorgeous?" Sasuke tried to stay imperturbable, but his heart raced in his chest.

"I have eyes, Sasuke!" Naruto laughed, opening a high cupboard, getting the cookies. Dark chocolate, just as Sasuke like them, indeed.

Naruto came back with the water and soda a few seconds later and he seemed all fidgety, as if he wanted to say something, but he didn't know how. Sasuke just looked at him and when their eyes met, Naruto looked flushed.

"Sasuke, I… I need to tell you something."

"Okay, dobe."

"Don't insult me, bastard!"

"Is that what you wanted to tell me?"

"No! Oh my God, you're impossible!"

Sasuke smirked and took a cookie. He loved when Naruto reacted like this.

"It's just that… I already know the answer and all, but, it's our last summer together and maybe after that you won't even see me…" Naruto was fiddling his hands and didn't dare looking at Sasuke in the eyes.

"Don't be stupid." Fuck, he couldn't stop thinking how Naruto was cute.

"But Sasuke, I…" Naruto's eyes were full of tears, "I love you and I want to be your boyfriend, but I know it's not possible."

Sasuke choked on the cookie. He wasn't sure he had heard well. Was he asleep?

"I know you're straight, or whatever and I tried to have other boyfriends, but they weren't you and I wanted to be honest because I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I don't try now and… And why are you blushing like a freaking virgin?"

First of all, he was a virgin, but it didn't have anything to do with the fact that he was blushing, "shut up! What do you mean you had boyfriends?"

"I wanted to forget you! I just said that I loved you and this is the only thing you have to say? I poured my heart out! Reject me and ask questions later!"

"Why would I reject you?!"

"Because… You're… You and I'm… Me."

"Thank you Naruto, for this excellent explanation."

"Stop being an ass!"

"Stop saying I'm going to reject you!"

"Because you won't, maybe?!"

"No, I won't!" Sasuke said before his logic could stop him.

It shut Naruto up who looked completely lost. He was looking at Sasuke as if it wasn't possible, that something was wrong.

"But… Are you gay? I never thought… I mean, not with me, at least. You… You love me?"

He knew he shouldn't, but nonetheless, he took Naruto's face in his hands, "yes."

"Me too!"

"I know, dobe." Sasuke chuckled. What was that people called happiness? Feeling excited and at peace at the same time?

"But, Sasuke…" Naruto's face was soaked with tears, "I love you and I'm so happy. Do you want to be my boyfriend?"

No. Of course, he couldn't say yes, "yes," Sasuke answered, ignoring his brain, ignoring that fact that he wasn't supposed to like boys, he was supposed to get married later, have kids and be normal, but fuck it.

Fuck it all.

"You want me?"

"Yes."

"Like, you really want me?"

"Yes."

"You want to be my boyfriend?"

Sasuke rolled his eyes, but he wasn't upset, he wasn't blasé, he just wanted to shut Naruto up and he did the one thing he wanted to do for years. He kissed Naruto on the lips.

He didn't know what he had to do. Naruto's mouth was wet and salty and clearly not responding. He was sure it was a sloppy, weird kiss, but it was perfect. His first kiss had been with the person he wanted the most in the world.

Naruto put his hands on Sasuke's and he pressed their lips together a bit harder. He had stopped crying, Sasuke noticed and Naruto took the control of the kiss, his tongue licking his lower lip.

Shit, it really wasn't the first time Naruto kissed someone and he feel angry and inadequate.

"Sasuke?" Naruto asked on his lips.

"You're my first…" Sasuke whispered, his hands clenching on Naruto's cheeks.

"Kiss?"

"… Everything," Sasuke frowned, breathing was hard.

"You're maybe not my first kiss, but… You're my first love. And I want it to be the last," Naruto confessed, "so make me forget the others I had, please?"

Sasuke grunted, pressing Naruto's forehead against his, "Your last?"

"Yes," Naruto's hands were on his neck and hair, stroking them gently, "I only want you."

"Fuck," Sasuke was overwhelmed. He was too hot, his heart was too crazy, Naruto's smell was everywhere.

Naruto will be his last too, he decided that day.

Why would he want anyone else?

*'*

The sun hurt his eyes and he closed the photo album, blind for a second.

He looked at the photo, a rare one where he was smiling, next to a young, so young Naruto.

He would never forget this day, nor the summer that followed. They had kissed again and again and they had made love, more than once, Sasuke very eager to forget that Naruto already had a first time. He wanted to be the first, but he wasn't. Naruto had been sad by his reactions and Sasuke understood, now.

Too late once again.

When he was thinking about it, it had been the last time he had truly been happy. Since then, he had not been able to rejoice about anything. He couldn't study something he was interested in, he couldn't be open with his boyfriend, he couldn't see his boyfriend as much as he wanted. It was just work and being afraid that his parents were going to find out that he was gay.

A sad smile crossed his face. At this time, he didn't even have the courage to say to himself he was truly, totally, gay.

He even married a woman, thinking it would be okay.

And now, sleeping next to her was just making him sick.

The front door slammed and Sakura appeared in the living-room. He knew she had tried to put on clothes she thought he was going to like. Clothes she felt sexy on. But he felt nothing.

"Baby! You're already here? How was your day?"

"I took a day off."

"Oh. Okay," she swallowed her disappointment, "what did you do?"

He didn't want to talk, he just wanted her out of here, "nothing much," he responded, putting the photo in his back pocket of his pants, "I rested," he could feel her gaze on him.

"What about going to the restaurant? It's been a while since we went out and I would love to eat good food with you."

Will she ever stop?

"I'm not in the mood."

He locked himself up in his office and slouched in his chair, sighing. He opened the top drawer and pulled out the papers they had been hiding for a few days. If he was brave, he would come out of here with it and a pen, and ask Sakura to sign them, so the joke that was their marriage would end.

But he didn't.

Instead, he hid the divorce paper at the same place and got out of the room.

Sakura was sitting on the couch, staring at nothing with a blank expression. She looked so small and miserable.

He picked up his jacket on the coat rack, "I changed my mind. Restaurant is good."

Suddenly, Sakura seemed to be alive again, "really?"

He handed her jacket to her and opened the door.

One day, he will give her the paper.

But today was not the day.
