Aphrodite opens the door to the small animal shelter, the bell on the door rings alerting the animals to the presence of Aphrodite, Ares, and their eight children. Eros texts Ampelus while holding the hand of Agape who takes a picture of the pet shop the second she walks through the door, posting it on Nymphstagram with the text "Adopt don't shop: I love all living things." Pragma, Philia, Storge hold each-others hands while skipping into the store pointing at a puppy that they saw in a window.
Mania reaches for a budgie which sits in a cage chirping while she hangs from her father Ares' deep blue baby carrier.
By the time Aphrodite turns to her children counting them to ensure that they've all come in to the animal shelter and haven't run off into another store while she wasn't looking, she's relatively unconcerned about all of them running off except for Ludus who has a tendency to be rather playful and find himself in all sorts of trouble because of it. As expected Ludus is missing.
"Ludus sweet pea, where are you?" Aphrodite asks placing her phone in her purse.
Ludus lifts his head up from the kitten pen where he's tangled up in a ball of yarn. "Here mama" he says as he tries to unravel himself from the ball.
"Don't worry I'll help" Agape says putting her phone in her pocket, while she shuffles into the kitten pen, helping Ludus untangle himself from the ball of yarn.
Aphrodite picks up Mania from the baby carrier giving her a kiss on the cheek before carrying her over to the bird cage.
"How about we get a budgie?"
"Or two or three?" Storge says tugging on his mother's sweatpants.
"Or four!" Ludus says fleeing the kitten pen once Agape has freed him from the ball of yarn.
"I don't mind so long as they cuddle with me" says Philia as she points at a budgie with pastel colors that look similar to a painting in the pastel medium.
Philautia runs over grabbing Agape's phone from her pocket, turning it on then taking a selfie with the budgies in the background and her shocked sibling and posting it to her sister's Nymphstagram before they can stop her.
Philia grabs Agape's phone from her Philautia's hands, and gets ready to delete the photo "Philautia just because you're self-obsessed does not mean you should post pics of yourself on your sister's Nymphsta." Agape grabs the phone from Philia's hand "Hey!"
"I for one find this photo adorable." She says putting the phone back in her pocket "So I'm keeping it, plus it shows our family together and gives a good view of this shop, I rarely get family photos."
"Can I see?" Pragma asks peering over his sister's shoulder.
"Sure" she takes out her phone again showing her sibling her Nymphstagram account while Aphrodite and Ares fill out the paperwork for two budgies.
"Okay children" Aphrodite says "Gather around, these two budgies are coming home with us" she points at two budgies in the cage a Lutino and a rainbow Spangle.
"Mama"
"Yes Agape?"
"Can we get a third budgie?"
"Usually they're best to get in pairs why do you ask?"
"Look" Agape points to an older Australian budgie alone in it's carrier who is missing a toe.
"Ohh they're such a cutie" says Aphrodite "I'll adopt this one as well."
"Bu-d-g-eeee" Mania says as she reaches out to the box her father carries with the elderly budgie inside it.
The family leaves the animal shelter with the budgies and the budgies' supplies in hand welcoming some feathered friends to their home.
