I wanted to give a Stellaris/Star Wars Rebels crossover a try. Again, using some of the same characters you see in a few Titans solves many issues. Enjoy.
Anyways, a similar backstory for the UNSA as a Few Titans Solves many issues, but it takes place the entire milky way galaxy instead of just 20 percent.
Timeline for the UNSA
October 24th, 1945: The beginning of a new alliance. After the end of the Second World War, diplomats from the Allied Nations came together to ratify the United Nations. This was a successor to the previous failed attempt at an international body, the League of Nations. While the effects of the UN during the following years were mixed, the organisation as a whole managed to prevent the world powers from nuking Humanity's homeworld.
2023: the discovery: following a devastating pandemic in the late 2010s, a new faction arose on Earth's international sphere: the Red Dragon Alliance. This alliance would grow to challenge but not rival the Western lead North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. However a more secret but quieter discovery was made by the RDA: an ancient escort vessel from the Irassian Concordat. Onboard were technologies that the RDA attempted to unlock but failed due to a lack of understanding. However, one project was salvaged: the Immortalis Project. This would become the base for the Crusader Program.
Mid-2025: a NATO-led UN Task Force is investigating the disappearance of over 150 children from North and South America. They discovered the Immortalis Project and later the RDAs Crusader Supersoldier program. The aim was to make near Immortal Super Soldiers that could devastate NATO's military might. This has led to Western soldiers nicknaming them Terran Kryptonians. These soldiers could not only shrug off most conventional weapons, chemical attacks, and even nuclear bombs, but also be anything from weapons designers, generals, and tacticians. Note that back then, the Crusader program was the Yang Sui Program.
Mid-2025: A NATO-led force made primarily of special forces raids the main facility of the Yang Sui Program, only to discover that of the 150 children that had mysteriously disappeared from the face of the year experimented on. While the program was successful, only 3 and a half dozen children survived the augmentation. UN forces evacuated the surviving children and provided them shelter somewhere in a U.S military installation.
2026-2030: The Third World War. Faced with both mounting tensions due to the beginning prospects of a degrading economy, the effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic, and the violation of several Human Rights treaties, the RDA launches a major attack on Both Western and Eastern. This sparks a 4 year-long conflict with the RDA and the Western-led Pacific Atlantic Treaty Organisation (a reformed NATO). Eventually, PATO wins the conflict but unfortunately the secret that was the ancient escort ship was destroyed when the RDA detonated a nuclear device to keep the ship out of PATO hands. This war is also the first conflict to see the use of Crusader Super soldiers, all of whom volunteered to fight on behalf of PATO.
2031: Reformation. With the lesson learned from the Third World War, the Nations of Earth once again begins to work towards international cooperation. The United Nations of Earth is born out of the old and
2032-2110s: the Golden age of Sol. Despite having to restart from scratch, several Crusaders dust off old RDA projects that look into clean energy, cheaper space travel, more efficient industries, and other new technologies. Eventually the first Fusion reactor is built in Africa and every continent soon sees Fusion Reactors popping up across the Globe. In the 2050s, the first Human colony was set up on Luna, Armstrong City. New ways of farming and recycling free up resources that eventually pull Africa out of poverty.
2110s-2187: Recession and Blind Migration. Due to a growing lack of living space and an unexpected baby boom, the Golden age of Sol comes to an end as cities begin crowding up and the growth of economies of nations begins to slow. However during this time, an unexpected development in Wormhole FTL was made by independent scientists and the first instances of FTL are made. Unfortunately, the drives were deemed too unreliable and most of Humanity's nations chose not to use these drives. Still, both corporations and nations begin to build colony ships that would seek out the stars. Over 100 of these ships left Sol carrying 200 million people, primarily of the lower working and middle class. The detonation of the Colony ship Indianapolis however caused the UNE to halt any new construction colony ships using the Wormhole generator.
2187-2200: The continued development of space travel and the disappearance of hundreds of millions gives Earth and her budding colonies some breathing room. Eventually the Sol System is transformed into a massive Solar hub of travel. Massive quantities of resources are mined and sent to increase living standards for all.
2200: A New Age. A joint Crusader-NASA team discovers both Hyperspace and the Hyperlane network. While Hyperspace can be used without the Hyperlanes, FTL travel times are considerably less than using the lanes. Knowing that Humanity will become an interstellar organisation, the Mauritanian Act of 2188 formalised the United Nations of Earth as the main governing body of Humanity.
2200-2413: The Humans of Earth (known as Terrans now) expand across many star systems and begin to colonise dozens of worlds. Thanks to the advent of hyper lane technology, the Human race finds many worlds to colonise, most surprisingly Earth-like and only needing a minimal amount of terraforming. The concept of central starbases is adopted by the UNE as Terran territory explodes. Military advancement is initially neglected for a time until space piracy becomes rampant during the 2300s. The United Nations Armed forces is set up and massive production of space warships and improved ground troops begins. The Crusaders, using knowledge from WW3, help with the build-up and rapid technological advance of the UNE.
2413: First Contact. First Contact is made with the Vissari Planetary Directorate. The first alien Species for the Terrans to encounter, an Avian-like race that is mostly peaceful, enjoyed great trading relations with the UNE.
2428-2437: The First Extrasolar War (Or the Terran-Vallgar War). The United Nations of Earth encounters the Administration of Vallgar, a Hegemonic Empire made up of a Mammalian species that looked as if a Bull and a sloth had a child. War sparks almost immediately and fleets begin to clash. Despite having little to no mass space warfare experience outside of anti-pirate actions, the UNE proves triumphant over the Administration. The Administration is reformed into the Vallgar Union. The V.U would become the first non-Human nation to apply for UN membership. This is also the first time the UN would make use of Crusaders, the Gen 2s. Though merely enhanced regular special forces, the project is deemed a success (since the UNE had to work from scratch) and work continues that would lead to newer generations.
2437-2487: Reconnection. The UNE discovers many of the colonies established by the ark ships of the Blind Migration. Many are stable colonies but are having difficulty expanding. Some however have evolved into their own small space-faring nations like the Eden Republic and Kobol Federation. This marks a shift in Earth's political sphere as the need for equal representation for all colonies is made. This marks the beginning of a shift to what will become the United Nations Solar Alliance.
2512: Third Contact: UNE science ships run into the Ztrakphor Star Kingdom. The ZSK will become one of Sol's most important allies later. The economy is booming and the UNE's population reaches 120 Billion.
2522-2532: First Space Cold War (Terran Zuifvan Stars): UNE encounters the Zuifvan Stars, another imperialist state. However the UNE is somewhat unwilling to go to war again due to a stagnating economy at this time.
2532-2537: Zuifvan-Terran War. A border skirmish between a UNE carrier battle group and two Zuifvan battleships escalates to all-out war. This turns into a 5-year war that sees the UNE occupy the core of Zuifvan space. However, the UNE is unwilling to go through another round of the Terran Vallgar war so they simply have the Zuifvan reform into a more xenophilic nation-state. This would eventually lead to the Zuifvan joining the UN later.
2552-2561: The UNE-Alliance War (or Human Unification War). First Contact is made with the Defiance Solar Alliance, a militaristic and somewhat Xenophobic Human nation that traces its roots back to the Red Dragon Alliance. Due to landing on somewhat unsuitable planets, they have adopted the RDA's militarism. Tensions flare almost immediately and war is declared (again).
2561: The beginning of the Anthurian-Human War/ Europa 7 Massacre. Though in a stalemate for nearly a decade, the UNE is able to launch a major counterattack led by the Titan UN Mars. However, this war is brought to a grinding halt when a Fanatic Purifier race called the Anthurians decide to launch a massive preemptive strike on the Humans. A Colossus planet cracker, along with a 6000-strong fleet attacks the UNE colony of Europa 4. Despite a heroic defence by the UNE 6th fleet and the unexpected alliance between the 6th and an Alliance raiding force, the Human forces are swept aside and Europa 7 is destroyed: cracked into massive drifting hulks. The only reason why no more planets are destroyed is due to the sacrifice of a UNE fighter squadron in disabling the weapon.
2561: True Unification. The Anthurian launched a major offensive into UNE and Alliance space. Faced with the realisation that both nations could be wiped out, the two Human factions come to a mutual alliance to drive the exterminators back. This culminated in the battle of Devil's Maw, where a joint UNE-Alliance Fleet led by Fleet Admiral Sophia Limburn against an Anthurian armada. Though costly, the Human forces are victorious in driving the Anthurians back.
2562: Battle of Reach. The Anthurians attack the Human held world of Reach. The defence is led by General Victor Ross, who heads an army of over 2 million strong. The battle results in the near destruction of the planet's continents but the Human struggle eventually repels the enemy forces using a combination of heavy mechanisation, superior speed, and surprisingly a large concentration of Maritime warships. This victory is decisive enough that both the Vissari Planetary Directorate and the Ztrakphor Star Kingdom join the war on the UHA's side. Though a bit late to the party, the Humans accept all the aid they can get.
Quote from Victor Ross before the battle of Reach: "soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, and spacers of both the United Nations of Earth and Defiance Solar Alliance. Today marks a day that changes the course of history not for a nation, but for our entire species! Today we fight as brothers and sisters against a threat that wishes to wipe us out! Will we stand by as they murder billions of our kind? No, we will not! We will burn their armies, demolish their fleets, and send these ugly sons of bitches back where they come from! For Humanity! For Sol! For Deneb and a thousand different planets of nations! Drive these SOBs from our lands and show them what we're made of!"
2563: The UHA (United Human Alliance, a temporary alliance between the UNE and DSA) kicks all Anthurian forces out of Human space. This ends with the battle of Zoldine, where several squadrons of Human fighters and bombers badly wounds the Colossus Planetcracker, reminiscent of the sinking of the Bismark. The UHA 10th fleet, led by Admiral Limburn onboard the newly commissioned UNSV Taipei, smashes the rest of the escorting Armada into pieces.
2564: The Counteroffensive. With most of the Anthurian attacking fleet destroyed or routed, allied forces begin a major campaign to take all Anthurian colonies and heavily established worlds. Using brand new jump drives pioneered by the Kobol Federation, allied forces blitzkrieg across Anthurian spaces. They are surprised to be met by a ragtag but decently sized fleet of resistance fighters made from species that the Anthurian attempted to exterminate. This stage also sees the deployment of Gen 3 Crusaders.
2565: The Creation of life: The First Artificial Intelligence is created by accident. Developed by Doctor Catherine Halley while making more advanced super computers of Human forces, the birth of the AI Herald marks a major shift in warfare. The first questions are asked in both the DSA and UNE, constitutions are adjusted to guarantee rights for synthetic life.
2566: The taking of Anthuria. 5 allied fleets, once again spearheaded by the UHA 10th fleet, attack the Anthurian homeworld. While the defending fleets are occupied, allied ground forces, led by General Ross's 1st Unified Army group, attack the main Capital city for the Anthurian and occupy the city after 2 weeks of brutal house-to-house fighting. This leads to a domino effect that sees the entire system fall to allied hands.
2569: The end of the war. What's left of Anthurian forces go down fighting the 19th UHA fleet. Despite calls for extermination, Human forces have virtually no energy to force a genocide on the Anthurian people. As such, they occupy the worlds for eventual integration into Human space. Casualties for Humans are 4.5 Billion and the Anthurians are 2.1 Billion (most from indiscriminate bombings of fortress worlds).
2570: The Birth of a new faction. To the surprise of the Humans and their Synthetic allies, the remnants of the resistance forces that aided the UHA against the Anthurians petitioned to join. This eventually kills of the Xenophobia present in DSA space. Unwilling to disappoint their newfound allies, the United Nations Solar Alliance, with the merger of the UNE and DSA, along with species defeated by both Human blocs. Now a total of 10 different species make up the UNSA, with one synthetic. The combined armed forces of both the Alliance and the UNE are merged to form the United Nations Allied Forces.
2570-2612: the Golden age of the UNSA, along with the VPD and ZSK, occurs as cities are rebuilt and shattered worlds repopulated. With the resources of 10 species, the UNSA combat fleet peaked at 200,000 combat vessels for the first time. Dozens of new worlds are established while dozens of orbital habitats are established, providing critically needed resources for the UNSA. The population of the UNSA reaches 800 billion. This a prelude to the eventual population growth that would see the UNSA become the 4th largest population. In addition, new advances in nano-technology, genetics, and fabrication devices mean that living conditions are significantly better than that of the 21st century. However not all is well and good. This era marks the beginning of discovering several Blind Migration colonies or arkships that were destroyed or died off.
2612-2615: The Wider galaxy. The Orion arm makes contact with the rest of the Milky Way galaxy. First contact is made with the Lox-Ungrak Union. While first contact is peaceful and relations are established, the rest of the galaxy's nations are…..mixed. The appearance of the UNSA accidentally terrifies several smaller nations to unify into what will become the Federation of Free Nations.
2621: The United States of Orion Arm. With a slow but growing list of nations that are at best indifferent and at worst, outright hostile to them, the UNSA, ZSK, VPD, and LOU join together to create the Mutual Assistance Pact, a NATO and EU hybrid in space. Task Force Unity, a joint space fleet built by the combined nations, is assembled. Verbal threats against Pact members significantly decline.
2652: The Echo through the stars. The Nations of the Montoken region start picking up subspace echoes on their equipment. Oddly enough, this goes unnoticed by both the Reapers and Citadel Council. Montoken species attempt to find out what is causing this echo.
2690: The Scourge war. Just after New Year celebration, several massive fleets of biological ships appear in the outskirts of the Milky Way galaxy. This fleet numbers in the hundreds of thousands. Immediately, they identify themselves as the Prethoryn scourge though not much is known about their main message due to translation issues. War commences
2691: The Glyrian Triad is the first nation to fall and three other nations are on the verge of collapse. Realising the severity of the situation, the nations of the Milky Way galaxy collectively declare war on Scrouge. Initial skirmishes however prove disastrous due to a lack of a coherent command structure. Learning the need to work together, the militaries of the Montoken region rallied behind the Pact, which had a unified command structure ready to go.
Late 2691: the Battle of Withariard Nebula. 20,000 warships from the UNSA, VPD, FFN, and other nations went up against the 90,000 Prethoryn Scourge lifeforms. Despite being outnumbered 4.5 to 1, the combined fleets threw back the Scourge due to being led by the experienced UNAF 10th fleet and massive fighter strikes, marking the first major victory of the war. This marks the beginning of what will become the Galactic Commonwealth of Nations.
2691-2969: Allied Forces fight a large-scale conflict with the Scourge. The Vast armies of the galaxy are used wisely to retake former Glyrian space. Mass deployment of Titans and Crusaders smashes apart Scrooge defences.
2700: The end of the war. The Scrouge, down to one hiveship and a few thousand constructs, requests permission to surrender to allied forces. Hesitant, allied forces halt their advance and a massive debate ensues. In one of the most controversial decisions made by the allied forces, the Scrouge is isolated to a single star system which is surrounded by fortress systems. Casualties for the Scourge war are over 98 Billion sentients, mostly from the Glyrain Triad.
2701: A galaxy wide alliance is created. The younger races form the Galactic Commonwealth of Nations, or G-Com for short. A slow but steady reconstruction commences.
2702-2767: the Age of the Megastructure. Large amounts of megastructures, Orbital rings, dyson spheres, and matter decompressors are constructed across the galaxy thanks to the abundance of alloys meant for war production. A golden age for the younger races allows for most of the galaxy to flourish.
2768: The War on Heaven begins. Tensions rise between several of the fallen empires. The Thamesian Peacekeepers and the Hissma Zealots reawaken and try to go to war with each other. However a UNSA Humanitarian Convoy is caught in the crossfire and destroyed, pissing off the entire Galactic Commonwealth. The Thamesians and the Hissma fleets suddenly find themselves attacked by every Commonwealth nation and from all sides.
2770: A Federation, UNAF, and Pact carrier task force escorting a Federation Colossus runs a Hissma Colossus. After a few minutes of awkward staring, the two forces engage in a massive fleet battle which results in the Federation Colossus using its planet cracker on its ancient counterpart. This marks the first time a Colossus weapon is used in ship to ship combat.
2773: The Unbidden arrive (and are destroyed immediately). A massive dimensional rift opens in the UNSA's Crimdor system during a massive battle between the Thamesian, Hissma, and the Commonwealth fleets (who were defending the system from an ancient attempt to seize the system's Bastion station). The Unbidden successfully maul both ancient fleets before promptly being decimated by Commonwealth defences and a horde of UNSN fleets who rushed to the system. With the Ancients gone, the Commonwealth unleashes their entire nuclear and fusion missile arsenals on the rift and Unbidden fleets, which closes down or are destroyed respectively. The Commonwealth sustains 2.5 million civilian casualties due to the Unbidden destroying a brand new orbital habitat.
2775: The ending of the war on Heaven. Field Marshal Ross leads a massive invasion force into Hissma space while Fleet Admiral Limburn leads one into Thamesian space. Due to both of the ancient powers sustaining massive casualties during the battle of the Crimdor system, neither are able to stand up to the Commonwealth Blitzkrieg.
2781: After several intense orbital invasions, the Commonwealth seizes all ancient planets and habitats. Both ancient powers surrender with Hisma territories divided up by the Federation of Free Nations and the Pact, while the entirety of Hissma space is occupied by the UNSA and turned into a new nation.
2782-2965: The age of the silence A sort of cold war brews between the remaining Fallen empires of the Milky Way galaxy, the Commonwealth, and the Marauder clans.
2966: A UNSA explorer ship discovers a wormhole at the edge of Commonwealth space. A single automated exploration cruiser is sent to gather information. The returning information is….disturbing to the Commonwealth high command.
Chapter 1: The Begining
Arcturus Station (Strategic Coordination Center)
July 18th, 2966
"What the hell am I looking at Admiral?" Prime Minister Martdone asked.
Supreme Admiral William Somerville just signed. "Around an hour ago, the exploration cruiser UNSV Voyager entered the wormhole to the Andromeda Galaxy. What you see here is what the AI heading the ship, Alex, found."
"I See that Admiral, but this…..this is just so unbelievable." The Prime Minister of the United Nations Solar Alliance said as he read over the reports. Life in another galaxy, a galaxy spanning government, Humans?
"And what the hell is this? A Galactic Empire? What kind of government is this?" Martdone scoffed. "Inefficient as hell, rebellions everywhere, oppressive edicts."
"Sir, despite what you see, the Empire is a legitimate threat. While we outclass them in industrial, technological, and cultural output, their combined population is over a Quadrillion and their military is growing rapidly," Somerville explained.
"What do you want, Admiral?" the PM asked.
"I request permission to move the 39th Strike fleet to the Nexus Wormhole and establish a Citadel in the same system." the Admiral replied. "UNIS is also requesting to send Prowlers into the Andromeda galaxy for recon."
"Granted. Get me any information. Don't care if it's tied down or locked behind a thousand firewalls, get anything without alerting this empire."
"Yes sir."
A few weeks later.
The discovery of the Andromeda galaxy shocked those living in the Milky Way. Sentient life expanding across a galactic scale. Thousands of different species, technologies differing from the Milky Way, cultures unseen.
But to the Humans of the Milky Way, they could only look at the extragalactic brothers with shame. A Human eccentric regime had taken over the galaxy with an iron fist. Where the UNSA, her allies, and her citizens lived a prosperous, free, and independent life, those in the Empire lived one of poverty and oppression.
Slavery, a notion considered barbaric of even the 'dictorships' of the Commonwealth, was freely exploited on mass for profit. Beautiful worlds desecrated to extract natural resources, worlds oppressed not seen since the Third Terran World War, a military industrial complex grinding billions each day. It stood against what Humanity and the Solarian people had fought for and paid billions for the price of freedom and equality.
So it was unsurprising that the UNSA, typically the one who advocated for peace, was straight up building up for war. The Solarians believed that evils must be opposed, in all its forms. And fortunately, much of the galaxy agreed.
Tens of thousands of new warships were being constructed, millions of vehicles, billions of small arms. The United Nations Solar Alliance was going back to war.
But even the freedom-loving Solarians knew that a military buildup would take time. Months, even years for millions of troops, hundred of thousands of ships, and the necessary supply lines to be set up.
So naturally, it was decided a small team would be sent in to cause some mayhem while the United Nations Allied Forces built up. Of course, being in another galaxy ruled by a madman meant that you couldn't just send anyone.
So it was decided to ask the two of the oldest beings living in the UNSA, one who saw the UNSA and her allies through all of its wars.
August 12th, 2966, Milky Way galaxy
Vancouver, Earth
Both Field Marshal Victor Ross and Fleet Admiral Sophia Limburn Ross, immortal supersoldiers who had seen the UNSA and her allies through its entire history, stared at the mass of politician holograms. "Say that again, you want us to go to another galaxy…..and help overthrow a government. A galaxy spanning regime" the former said.
"Victor Ross, it's a totalitarian regime that is torturing millions of people. We need someone with the experience and know how to bring one down." United Nations Solar Alliance Prime Minister Martdone explained.
"...But you literally have 60,000 other Crusaders that could do the job. And a combined military in the tens of billions." Limburn added.
"Limburn, they are torturing kids into slave soldiers." A Federation member said. Everyone knew the pair had a soft spot for children.
"Say no more! What do we need to bring?!" both immortal super soldiers quickly interrupted.
Meanwhile in another galaxy far, far away, a certain emperor felt a disturbance in the force. Something terrible was going to happen to the Galactic Empire.
Nexus Wormhole (the wormhole leading to the Andromeda Galaxy).
August 21st, 2966, Mistaya dropship
Both Victor and Sophia sat in the Mistaya's cargo hold as it approached the wormhole.
"The Galactic Empire is ruled by this Emperor Palpatine, the former Chancellor of the former Galactic Republic. He's created this military first nation, is spreading xenophobia like crazy, and is becoming a dictator." an UNIS Artificial intelligence named Barrett stated. Though the pair of Crusaders had read the reports, they decided on having everything recapped.
"Uggghhh. This reminds too much of the DSA, the Red Dragon Alliance, and the North Koreans. Does anyone not do any research on why those regimes fell in less than a century or two?" Victor grumbled.
"Well this galaxy is full of idiots. Good news is that UNIS has discovered a growing and budding rebellion brewing. UN HighCom wants us to find this rebellion and give them a small hand." Sophia grumbled as well. The married couple had spent their whole lives fighting and toppling dictators.
"Right, now for Opfor analysis, starting with the Imperial Navy," Barrett said. "The Imperial navy is similar to the UNSN, though it also subsumes the roles that would go to the Space Guard and Aerospace force. Its doctrine focuses on large quantities of battleship type vessels with large amounts of cheap disposable fighters. Fear is used to keep worlds in check, as the threat of a warship bombing a planet can deter rebellions. Most of the time."
"Orbital bombardment to keep a planet in line? That's extreme. Even the Defiance Solar Alliance didn't go that far." Victor muttered.
"When a Star destroyer can make a continent uninhabitable in a few hours, I say it is a decent deterrent." Barrett admitted.
"I read the reports. The Imperial class. Not bad for a space faring civilization, but not one that has been space faring for thousands of years. No Zero Point energy tech correct?" Sophia asked.
"Correct. Their hypermatter reactors are on par with our older antimatter generators. Not as good as our ZPE reactors or the dark matter ones. However they are a threat to any rebelling forces." Barrett replied. "We estimate at least a dozen Imperial 1 class star destroyers in the Lothal sector, with maybe 4 dozen to over 200 hundred escorts. We're still searching for more information on their fleet locations."
"What's with the ships themselves?" Victor pressed on.
"These fleets are headed by battleships called Star Destroyers, being the Imperial 1s. The Imperial 1 class of star destroyers are over a kilometre long and its armament primarily consists of rapid fire plasma cannons they call blasters." a hologram of said ship appears. "Pretty well armed, however it's armament is meant for slugging it out with other ships at close range. That range being a few dozen to a few thousand kilometres. It's also devoid of heavy point defence weapons, so it relies on its fighter complement for screening."
"I read about their Tie fighters. Pieces of junk." Sophia grumbled.
"These Ties are heavily reliant on line of sight blaster cannons. The Ties are 'fast' compared to rebel fighters but are a joke when compared to our craft. They lack missiles, ECM capabilities, ftl, Stealth, and have terrible cockpits. They also aren't sturdy to withstand blows. Their advantages are that they are cheap and can be deployed in vast numbers, are relatively easy to fly for spacecraft, and their pilots are decently trained."
"What about Escorts?" Limburn pressed on.
"Imperial escort craft outside of fighters are better designed, though could use some more refining. They rely on the Gozanti class frigate transports and the Arquitens class of light cruisers." a hologram of the two ships appears. "Compared to the star destroyers, these ships can cause more headaches to local rebeling forces. Lightly armed with small plasma cannons, or turbolasers and blasters as they call them. Ok, moving onto the Empire ground forces."
A hologram of several stormtroopers and army troopers appeared. "Most Imperial forces belong to the Imperial Army and Stormtrooper corps, the latter similar to the UN's Marine Corps. The former is of low quality somehow, being the dumping grounds for low ranking troops. They make up the bulk of the Empire's ground troops."
"I see." Victor said.
"The Stormtroopers are like marines, though of less quality compared to our marines. They are supposedly of the elite and while they do go through some impressive training, they're gear is pretty much crap. They're armour is made from Plasteel, something we retired centuries ago. Their armour lacks Exo-suites of heads up displays like ours, no energy shields, and mobility is crap. They're weapons, for both the army and stormtroopers, relies on plasma based weapons called blasters."
"What about their weapons? How do they stack up to our M3s and M5s?" Victor asked.
"The blasters have a decent rate of fire and each Tibanna gas canister, which they use in their blasters, have 500 shots. They also have two settings: Stun and lethal. Compared to our weapons though, not great. They have a shorter range, rate of fire is not great, the E11s lack modularity and can't include attachments, and they overheat quickly if on full auto."
"Vehicles?" Victor asked.
"Vehicles are primarily mech and hover based. Most of their vehicles are meant for policing so ones like the ATPT, ATSTs, and so on are lightly armoured and quick to deploy. Great for policing, not great for war. The Imperials hovercraft are actually impressive though. Their IFVs are decently armed and armoured, and their speeders will outrace any of our wheeled vehicles, though they lack armour so it doesn't take much to bring them down." Barrett stated. "We also have reports of something called All Terrain Armoured Transports being deployed. They're heavily armoured and capable of tanking my local anti armour weapons."
"I see. What are our assets?" Victor asked.
"Since G-COM is still preparing for war and don't want to give the Empire a hint of our true capabilities, no battleships or carriers.'' This caused the couple of mass destruction to grumble. "Your being given a fully loaded and crewed Sun Wukong class strike cruiser.'' This caused the grumbling to stop.
"The Sun Wukong classes eeh? I heard the first flight finished their shakedowns. Which one are we getting?" Victor asked.
A hologram of a UNSN strike cruiser appears (note that in this universe, UNAF ships are of the Reptilian design). "The UNSV Spirit of Freedom, of the spirit subclass. Just came out of the shipyards. It's being stocked with drones and we're assigning a few AIs for it."
In theory, all United Nations Allied Force ships were capable of being piloted solely by AIs. However this was never done outside of small corvettes and escorts because 1) AIs were people and got lonely without organics, reducing overall effectiveness, 2) organic crews meant redundancy, and 3) it meant jobs for the economy.
"I see. Capabilities?" Sophia asked. The Sun Wukong class was a brand new ship that was designed years after she retired after the War on Heaven so her knowledge of the ship was limited.
On Limburn's wrist computer came a bunch of data.

Facilities: 2 Fabricator modules (meant for build spare parts and new munitions), ECM suites, full medical suite, automated drone production lines, galactic Quantum and Tachyon communication systems, several replicator units, full weapons armoury, hydroponics bay, drone mining and repair bays, teleportation bays, SOBT drop pods.
"That's a lot of gear for a recon mission." Victor whistled.
"Well your job is less stealth and more poke the Empire so we know what we are dealing with." Barett explained. "With you two wrecking havoc on the enemy, UNIS and SOCOM teams will do the stealth work.
"Why Jackals though?" Limburn frowned. F-45 Jackals were a last generation fighter craft. They were in the process of being replaced by the newer F-61 Tridents.
"All Tridents are being reserved for the frontline units. That and the two of you aren't qualified for the new Tridents yet." Barrett pointed out, with Limburn grumbling.
"(Comms) Attention all passengers, this is your pilot speaking. We will be entering the Nexus wormhole very soon. Please fasten your seatbelts and stow your meal trays. Thank you."
"Right, that reminds me of two more things. The Empire's intelligence agencies, their SF, and the force users." Barrett said.
"Actually I read about them. The Imperial Security Bureau, basically a KGB equivalent, yes?" Victor said. Barrett nodded.
"Correct, not much to talk about there. What is concerning is the force and the inquisitors." Barrett said.
"I remember." Sophia frowned. "Replaced an ancient warrior religious order called the Jedi. The force apparently exists in all beings. Something about midichlorians count, which all life in the entire Milky Way lacks right?"
"Yup. No Mediclorians in our bodies. The force is the life force/soul of all life. Those with a high midichlorians in their bodies can manipulate the force. It's also tied to one's emotional state, which has resulted in the Dark Side and Lightside. Many of these inquisitors are former Jedi trainees who have embraced the Darkside. We have reports of them capable of telekinesis, fast reaction speeds, mind reading, and so on. It's unknown how they would react to beings not tied to the force." Barrett explained. "And if the legends are correct, force users make excellent pilots."
"Hmm, swords really? Laser swords? I know they are cool and all but still." Victor wondered.
"Since the galaxy relies heavily on blaster bolts, which have a slow velocity when fired, force users with these lightsabers can actually deflect blaster bolts back at their enemies. That being said, a slug thrower or our kinetics would be able to do more harm to these inquisitors." Barrett said.
"UNIS has been busy. You got this all from hacking their computers?" Victor asked.
Barrett smiles. "UNIS is good at its job, and it's easy since the Andromeda galaxy lacks decent electronic defences."
"Ok then, read out our objectives." Limburn declared.
"Right. You two now comprise Task Force Sight Seeing. Your Primary objectives are as follows: Test the capabilities of the Empire in combat, determine additional weaknesses in their forces, gather any Imperial secret data, and make contact with any rebelling forces. The Nexus Wormhole is located in the outer rim, in the Lothal Sector. Secondary objectives include hunting down these inquisitors, rescuing prisoners, and acquiring Imperial Gear for proper testing."
"You have full discretion on how you use this gear. Arm rebels, use it yourself, just make sure it doesn't end up in the hands of the empire."
Barrett looked at the pair. "We are approaching the Nexus Wormhole. And Admiral, Field Marshal, welcome back to the Allied Forces."
Limburn and Victor both smiled. It was time to ruin an Empire's day.
Nexus Wormhole, Andromeda Galaxy side
UNSV Spirit of Freedom, New Truk Atolls Anchorage
Though the Wormhole was far from Imperial Patrols and the wider galaxy, the UNAF still took precautions to build up it's defences. A Citadel Space Station was being constructed outside the Wormhole's location and a Task Force made up of over two hundred cruisers, light carriers, destroyers, and corvettes safely guarded the wormhole's entrance, headed by a single super carrier.
The Nexus Wormhole opened up into a star system with a Neutron Star. Imperial Ships typically avoided this system as there was nothing there, a perfect spot for a build-up.
An asteroid had been hollowed out and turned into an impromptu space station and Anchorage for the Task Force until the Citadel station was finished. It was named New Truk Atolls after an old Imperial Japanese naval base. And within the anchorage and in one of her docking ports is the battlecruiser UNSV Spirit of Freedom.
"I'm honestly surprised Command didn't just give us a Heavy cruiser," Victor said as the pair of Crusader Super Soldiers entered the bridge of their new home. It was bustling with crewmembers going about their duties.
"Battlecruisers are ship hunters and faster. That's what we need against the Empire. Besides, a Battlecruiser to just ourselves. We haven't done any solo missions since the War on Heaven." Sophia smiled warmly.
"Field Marshal! Admiral! Welcome aboard! Ready to kick some Imperial Ass?" a voice chirped out and a hologram of a Human male AI appeared. The avatar and the AI took on one of Earth's Admirals: Admiral Chester Nimitz.
"Chesty! Good to see you again you old ass." Victor smiled. Victor and Sophia had worked with Chester before, Chester being the UNSV Taipei's (a Titan belonging to the UNAF 10th Fleet) former integrated Artificial Intelligence.
"Old? I'm only 200 years, compared to yours 961 year old body." Chester snarky replies.
"Good to see you Nimitz. How was the old girl by the way?" Sophia asked.
"Taipei was ancient and slow as hell, but worked against the ancients. It'll be an interesting experience to give one of these Sun Wukongs a spin." the AI responded.
"Great, who else is part of our ragtag band of warriors?" Victor asked.
"Barrett is handling info gathering and sensor suites, I'm running most of the ship's systems, and we have Serina dealing with our drone complement and fabrication equipment," Chester said. "Organic crews have all been accounted for."
"Ship status?" Sophia asked as she took her seat at her command chair.
"All systems green Admiral. The UNSV Spirit of Freedom is ready for action." a crew member responded.
"Very well. Patch me through to the New Truk command centre." Sophia ordered. When the communications link was established, Sophia cleared her throat. "This is the UNSV Spirit of Freedom, we are preparing to depart."
"(Comms) We copy, UNSV Spirit of Freedom. Undock and head towards the main entrance.."
"Acknowledged. Chester, undock us from New Truk." Sophia ordered.
The anchorage that the Spirit of Freedom was one big hallway through the asteroid, with dozens of ships docked in said hall. The Spirit of Freedom decoupled and the docking tubes and clamps releasing the warships. Then the battlecruiser used its manoeuvring thrusters to gently push itself out of the dock and into the main corridor.
When it was safely out of the dock, the S.O.F activated its impulse thrusters and pushed the battlecruiser down the hall and past the shields separating the Anchorage from the cold depths of outer space.
"Spirit of Freedom is away. I repeat, UNSC Spirit of Freedom is away." Sophia reported.
"(Comms) this is New Truk Actual, head towards sector 270. Once there, you may jump out."
"Acknowledged, New Truk Actual."
The Spirit of Freedom, now free and in space, moved towards a region of space with some distance from the Asteroid base. In the distance, the pair of Crusaders saw dozens of mighty UNAF warships gliding around the star system.
"New Truk Actual, this is the UNSV Spirit of Freedom. We are priming jump drives." Sophia reported.
"(Comms) Understood UNSV Spirit of Freedom. Good hunting."
"Jump drives ready," Chester reported.
"Very well. Initiate jump!" Sophia ordered.
The UNSV Spirit of Freedom, 5th of its class and the first ship to be sent to war, jumped into a new region of space. It would mark the beginning of a new age.
Commonwealth Wiki…Crusader Supersoldiers
Crusader Supersoldiers are semi-immortal Elite warriors that come from across the known galaxy. These warriors undergo a classified augmentation procedure that makes them smarter, stronger, more durable, and faster than most species in the Milky Way galaxy. However due to the cost of augmenting these warriors, There is currently only 60,000 active duty warriors in all of the armed forces of the Milky Way.
The Crusader formations can trace their lineage back to the Human's Third World War. When the Red Dragon Alliance recovered remains of an Irassian battlecruiser. The precursor to the Crusader Program, the Yang Sui project, was born. Though the project was eventually successful, the causality rate for the augmentation of Gen 1 Crusaders was over 60% and thus, no new Gen 1s have been created. And with the destruction of the Irassian battlecruiser, the United Nations had to start from scratch. When the UNSA and her allies entered the galactic stage, every species rushed to dig up information on how to create crusader supersoldiers. The most successful are the ancient powers, the Pact members (thanks to guidance from the UNAF), and the Federation of Free Nations.
Currently, there are four Generations of Crusaders:
Gen 1s - these used the original research, resources and data developed by the Red Dragon Alliance in the 21st century. They are considered the best of the best, able to outfight any opponent. However, the mortality rate of said project (only 42 subjects out of 150 survived) and the fact that kidnapped children were used resulted in a galactic ban of using such procedures. Today, all generation 1 crusaders serve in command roles, whether as battalion commanders, admirals, and generals. However at the moment, most if not all Gen 1s are in a state of inactivated combat readiness, most retiring to start families (though they will come out of retirement to help out if the situation deems it. Most famous are Field Marshal Victor Ross and Fleet Admiral Limburn.
Gen 2s- these are the first line of modern Crusaders used by the Human nations. They are basically augmented regular special forces. Tougher than regular Humans, but still no match for gen 1s. One notable aspect of the Gen 2s is that they have a much lower mortality rate compared to Gen 1s. As of this writing, all gen twos are. in a state of inactivation combat readiness (retired or passed away).
Gen 3- Gen 3s are a mixture of Gen 1s and Gen 2s. Not as tough, smart, and fast as Gen 1s, but more than capable of dealing with a squad of Gen 2s.
Gen 4s- the most modern variant of Crusaders. Heavily refined Gen 3s supersoldiers. Also currently the most numerous.
