It was ten years ago that everyone had been killed. Well, not everyone. Five percent of Earth's population had survived. Still, almost everyone Gohan knew had died. At the death of his mentor and father figure, Mr. Piccolo, Gohan achieved the legendary transformation known as Super Saiyan, but it wasn't enough. The androids are still out there, but this would be their last day. He would make sure of that. After all, whatever they were doing to Trunks...

Gohan shook his head. Enough reflecting. He HAD to rescue his protege. Even if it killed him. Goten wanted to tag along, but Gohan wouldn't hear of it. Even if Goten had achieved Super Saiyan at the age of three, he wouldn't risk Goten getting taken, too.

Gohan knew that Goten blamed himself for Trunks' kidnapping. After all, if he hadn't drawn the pair's attention, Gohan would have simply blocked the attack headed for Trunks, and everything would be okay. The battle would likely have ended sooner, not giving them time to come up with the idea. They wouldn't have ripped Gohan's arm off to prevent him from coming after them. Goten wouldn't have had to wiggle out of Eighteen's grip while Trunks failed to do so. Gohan, however, was confident that Goten was wrong to blame himself. Gohan had KNOWN they weren't ready and had brought them anyway. He'd hoped to discourage them from going off on their own or something to the same effect.

Gohan was jolted out of his thoughts as he arrived at the mansion the androids had claimed for themselves. Though he didn't sense Trunks, which terrified him, he did hear the child's voice screaming. Gohan's muscles tensed, enraged. He would ensure they paid dearly for whatever they were doing to him.

He launched a Masenko, destroying the wall of the house. To his surprise, it wasn't Seventeen or Eighteen who turned to him, but a woman with bright red hair wearing a lab coat. His surprised confusion quickly turned to rage as he caught a glimpse of Trunks. The ten-year-old was mangled, bloodied, and bruised, but that wasn't the worst part. Gohan's power soared as he noted the many "enhancements" the woman had apparently taken upon herself to give him. Seventeen and Eighteen walked into the room to check on her progress.

"Hey, look! Goldilocks has come to save his little friend," Seventeen laughed.

"Too bad he's too late!" Eighteen cackled. Gohan growled.

"Well, actually," the woman piped in. "While he may be physically finished with the process, I'm only in phase one of his reprogramming..."

At the word reprogramming, something in Gohan snapped. He would MAKE THEM PAY. His already golden hair stood on end, raising along with his power. Bioelectricity started forming around him, and lightning crackled in the night sky. Rage-filled screams poured out of Gohan as his power, already multiplied by fifty, doubled. Winds blew, and rubble flew up into the air. Then, suddenly, the entire spectacle ceased.

His transformation complete, Gohan slowly made his way toward the terrified androids. Then, in a single blast, the world was rid of the red-haired woman who had done this to Trunks. Gohan would make sure the androids' deaths weren't that easy, however...

Meanwhile, Goten worriedly watched out the window, sensing Gohan's leap in power. He knew Bulma was making something in her lab, so he had no one to express his worries to. After an hour of waiting, Goten was so stressed he pulled Bulma out of her work.

However, it wasn't long after that before Gohan returned with Trunks. Gohan said nothing, simply handing Bulma her son and flying off into the distance. Goten started to go after him, but Bulma held him back, telling him he needed some time to himself. Goten nodded but was secretly planning to go after him anyways. That changed the moment he set eyes on Trunks.

A whole week passed, and none of them heard anything from Gohan. Goten kept an eye on him through ki sense, of course, but it didn't seem like he was doing much but meditating. Bulma was in a meeting with what was left of Earth's government, trying to convince them her son wasn't a threat, but Goten knew they had no proof of that. After all, Trunks still hadn't woken up.

Goten is sitting by Trunks' bed, holding his hand, when he hears shouts coming from the meeting room. He leaps up and rushes there, and, upon seeing Bulma surrounded by soldiers, he flies over their heads and takes a stance.

"It's another android!" The general cries. "All units, fire!" As Goten is barraged by bullets, he desperately tries to keep any from hitting Bulma, but there are simply too many. Bulma is shot directly in the chest.

Goten grabs her as she collapses and rushes her to the med bay where a regen tank is awaiting. Unfortunately, it's broken, but it's the best chance she has. Soldiers start rushing into the room, and Goten prepares to fight them.

Just then, Gohan busts through the wall, knocking the soldiers back. He takes note of the situation, then grabs Goten. Goten tries to get out of his grip and get to Bulma, but Gohan simply tightens it. Tears stream down the boy's face as he squirms.

"She's dead, Goten," Gohan says, sounding utterly defeated. Goten screams, clawing at Gohan's arm. Then, wordlessly, Gohan drops him, allowing him to knock his brother out. After this, he manages to gather Trunks and Goten in his single arm, ignoring the soldiers.

Gohan silently flies to the hangar, knowing nothing is left for them on Earth. Tears pour down his face as he launches the spaceship he'd worked on in his spare time. He lays Trunks and Goten in the ship's single bed, then walks to the navigational center. It's going to be a long journey.
