Chapter 3: The Physics-Defying Planet

The few minutes in hyperspace pass with the three half-Saiyans laughing about the Cooler Force guy's accent. Gohan compares him to Jeice, the Space Australian from the Ginyu Force, who was the only other person with an accent Gohan has ever met. Again, this brings them all to laughter because any mention of the Ginyu Force is automatically funny in Goten's eyes, and his giggling is contagious.

The ship exits hyperspace unexpectedly, jolting the boys out of their seats. Gohan rushes to the window, both awed and terrified at the mass of blue he's seeing. As the ship gets closer, an elephant of Brobdingnagian (AN: I googled synonyms for massive, this word popped up, and I had to use it) proportions filled his vision. On said elephant, there appeared to be a civilization.

Trunks screams as alarms begin blaring. "ALERT: ATMOSPHERIC ENTRY SPEED TOO HIGH. CRASH IMMINENT," the ship's computer tells them. Goten rushes over to Trunks, trying to comfort him. Gohan desperately attempts to stabilize the craft, but he fails due to the pain of his tail regrowing because of the influx of Blutz waves from the planet's six moons.

At this point, all of them are screaming so much that the ship's oxygen supply, damaged by the Space French man, runs out. As a result, they fall unconscious within seconds. It would all be over if it weren't for the physics-defying aura inherent to this planet.

The wreckage of the CCS Icarus crashes into a house on the "island" of Zou. Luckily, no one is home, but it doesn't take long for the minks to discover the shipwreck.

Pedro walks up to Nekomamushi's house. "Sir, we have a rather strange situation at hand," the mink guardian begins.

"What is it?" Nekomamushi responds.

"A metal... thing... fell from the sky on someone's house. There were three people inside, all of them unconscious. They appear human, except for their tails," Pedro elaborates.

"Well, move the metal thing," Nekomamushi orders. Pedro nods.

"We're already working on that, sir. However, we are unsure what to do with the, er, passengers."

"Bring them here," Nekomamushi says.

A few minutes later, the trio of half-Saiyans is deposited in Nekomamushi's house. At about this time, Gohan wakes up, being the strongest of the trio.

"Wha- we're alive?" the twenty-year-old asks.

"You are alive," Nekomamushi affirms. Gohan blinks.

"Where are we?"

"Zou," Nekomamushi says simply.

"And... that is... where?" Gohan asks, confused.

"The back of a giant elephant."

"I... vaguely remember crashing into that. Um, why is there a giant elephant?" Gohan asks. Nekomamushi shrugs.

"Why should I know? I just live here."

"W-what planet is this?" he asks Nekomamushi.

"Giant elephant."

"You don't know what a planet is, do you?" Pedro interrupts.

"Shut up, Pedro."

Gohan, at that moment, realizes that he is on a rather primitive (in terms of space travel, at least) planet. So he is going to have to explain a LOT.

"Are you familiar with the concept of space?"

"Yes," Nekomamushi tells him.

"So in space, there are other worlds, called planets," Gohan explains. "I am from one of them, called Earth."

"Are you drunk?" the Ruler of Night asks.

"I know this sounds kind of insane," Gohan says. "But have you ever seen anything like our ship before? It's used for space travel."

"That thing's a ship?" Pedro asks.

"Well, it has to be enclosed because there is no air in space. Likewise, there's a reason for nearly every design point on the ship."

"Neat," Nekomamushi says.

"Are we allowed to live here? Because everyone on our home planet we knew is dead, and the survivors hate us because the ones who killed ninety-eight percent of the population have the same abilities as us," Gohan explains.

"Oh yeah, you can stay here," Nekomamushi confirms. "Pedro, set up a tent or something. Maybe get the kids to a doctor."

A few minutes later, the boys are with a doctor, and Gohan has set up a capsule house for the three of them to live in. However, trying to explain to Pedro that it is not a Devil Fruit (whatever that is) and just a piece of technology from his home planet is starting to become frustrating.

Meanwhile, Trunks wakes up, immediately panicking upon not seeing Gohan. The boy springs away from the doctor tending to him, landing awkwardly on a leg injury from the crash. He cries out in pain, prompting Dr. Toshinako to rush over to him. "Calm down, child! You're hurt!" Dr. Toshinako tells him. Trunks stares at the doctor with wide eyes.

"D-Don't hurt me..." Trunks whimpers. Dr. Toshinako's eyes fill with concern.

"I'm not going to hurt you, child. Your friend, Gohan, is setting up a place for you to live. He asked me to make sure you were okay. I'm a doctor."

"O-okay..." Trunks says, calming down a bit. "W-where am I?"

"You're on the island of Zou, in the Mokomo Dukedom," Dr. Toshinako answers.

After a few minutes of chatting with the doctor, Trunks gets his bearings and begins to process the situation he and his friends are in. He asks many questions of Dr. Toshinako, most of which the doctor cannot answer. However, one question, in particular, baffles him completely.

"Where do Devil Fruits come from? Initially, I mean. Is there, like, a tree or...?"

"Uh..." Dr. Toshinako has no idea how to respond to this. He briefly considers sedating Trunks to get him to stop asking impossible questions but quickly decides not to. It's good he shut that down, too, because Goten wakes up just then.

"AHH! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" Goten shouts, before realizing that they are, in fact, not all going to die. "Or not. Sorry."

A few hours pass, and all seems to be at peace as the trio of extraterrestrial teenagers settles into their new surroundings. But, little do they know, a threat is arising in the form of Jack of the Beast Pirates.
