Gotham Knights
3:30 AM at the docks in Gotham City, a Cadillac Escalade parks not too far from a warehouse by a cargo boat with a black dragon logo on the side. Rupert Thorne and his guards step out of the car and begin to walk to ramp by the boat they are then greeted by members of the Black Dragon Clan. Weapon dealers who sell to the highest bidder whether it mob bosses or warlords from another world. Jarek stands attentive and greets them.
Jarek: Mr. Thorne, welcome aboard my name is Jarek I'll take you to the cargo you purchased.
Thorne: I spoke with Kano I was under the impression that he would be the one conducting this exchange.
Jarek: Yes, Kano apologizes he can not be here tonight he had to take a last minute trip out of town. I'm sure you understand. Now if you and your men would please follow me.
Jarek leads the mobsters to the cargo hold down there multiple black dragon men stand begin show of weapons from the crate. Crates with the logos of organizations such as AIM, STAR Labs, Group 935, and Aperture Labs. One of the black dragon men pulls out two ray guns from the Group 935 crate.
Jarek: One of our guys in Hydra was able to get us these from an abandoned nazi lab in Germany. Me and Kano went out there and let me tell you, I don't think I've ever been so freaked out in my-
Thorne: I didn't come here for story time, show me what the gun does.
Jarek gestures at the guy holding the ray gun, he shoots at empty crate and it combusts upon impact. Jarek turns to a smiling Rupert Thorne.
Thorne: As discussed with your boss I will take the crate, I would also ask you to keep in the loop for more weapons like these. Gotham seems to be a breeding ground for freaks with powers not to mention some of the big names in the long underwear crowd live here. This will even the playing field. I wanna look at the box from AIM to.
Jarek: That has already been purchased but this Aperture Labs stuff is very interesting I am personally fan. I'm no tech wiz but Kano said there's a lot of potential, for an extra 200 I think we'd be willing to part with.
Thorne: 200k?!
The light in the room begins to flicker, the man holding the ray guns has been thrown into the wall as well as being relieved of the ray guns.
Thorne's guard: Shit! He's here!
Although not being from Gotham, The Black Dragon known of the Batman. Thorne, Jarek, and their men circle up with their backs to each other. All of them armed and Jarek's eyes glowing red. Two batarangs and throne knocking out two of Thorne's men. From the shadows Batman emerges and drop kicks a black dragon and goes for Thorne and his last guard. He throws them both aside as Jarek blasts Batman, he is able narrowly dodge the laser and it's the wall.
Thorne: Are you trying to sink the damn boat?
Batman then lunges and lands a right hook. The lights begin to flicker it's just Batman and Jarek now. Batman stares angrily and Jarek's eyes still glowing red. The two charge at each other and duke it out. Both of them are talented fighters in their own right redirecting and countering blows. Jarek shoots more lasers, Batman dodges it again and throws flash bang that goes in Jarek's face. Stunned from the blast, Batman is able sweep his legs out from under him and the slam Jarek back on the ground face first. All of the criminals are out cold. Batman calls Alfred over comms.
Batman: All hostiles are down. Alter GCPD about Thorne and call special forces about The Black Dragon they'll know what to do from here.
Alfred: Right away sir and to think Mr. Thorne got out of Blackgate not too long ago for good behavior. Out of all the crime lords and mob bosses he's my favorite for being the least challenging of them all.
Batman: Don't be too heartbroken when he gets thrown away again. Looking at these weapons and who he bought them from, he might get thrown in one of the black sites like Belle Reve or Stronghold.
Alfred: GCPD are on their way and I have sent the message Special Forces. General Blade will be disappointed that Kano won't be in attendance. The scans you've sent me for some of this tech is quite terrifying if I must say, the laser pistol scans you've sent me are to some alleged think tank the Nazis contracted after Hydra went rogue. The files are mostly blacked out sir.
Batman: Does this think tank still operate?
Alfred: As far as I can tell they don't sir. Should I look into the matter more?
Batman: Yes, the last thing we need is another secret group of geniuses who think they're better than the common people rear there heads. General Blade can confiscate everything here though, I'm not interested in an arms race of mad scientists. Just what they want with Gotham.
Batman feels a light on his shoulder and turns around to see sees a woman wearing Aperture Labs tank top, orange pants, what appears to be white leg braces, and a futuristic looking gun in hand she nods at Batman and then pushes a small Aperture box through a portal in the wall that shows the view of the roof of the warehouse and jumps through the portal only for Batman to follow. She grabs the box and jumps only to be dragged back down by Batman using a grapnel.
Batman: Who are you? What do you want with this tech?
Batman is then hit extremely hard from something or someone behind him and is knocked out. Batman eventually slowly begins wake up and hears muffled voices. Two male voices and one female voice. The first male "Is the Batman alright Sonya Blade?" the female voice responds with "He seems to be fine but whatever hit him hit him hard" the second male voice "Whoever did this is gonna have to deal with combined efforts of the League and Special Forces, think about be a great way to get to know each other". Batman only hears the "get to know each other" and jumps out of the cot he's in and gets in a defensive stance. Standing around him were General Sonya Blade, Raiden The Chinese God of Thunder, and movie star turned super powered commando Johnny Cage. Sonya draws out her pistol and aims and Raiden's begin to pulse with electricity. Johnny however gets between the vigilante and his two allies.
Johnny: Time out! Last I checked were all on the same side, there's no super hero civil war right now, and WE were the one's called to help YOU Mr. Batman! So let's all take a minute to CALM DOWN!
Batman, Sonya, and Raiden all immediately drop their defensive stances.
Batman: How'd you find me?
Sonya: Penny 1 called us after they had sent a message that you had apprehended Jarek and multiple Black Dragon along with the cargo that we had been tracking for months. Penny 1 told us also someone in Aperture clothing took some a small bit of merchandise with them and ambushed you is that correct?
Batman: Correct, she had a gun with her that I assume made the portal she used. She also could jump insanely high.
Batman using the built in camera lenses in his cowl connected it uses a projection from his decryptor device to show images of the woman in question
Sonya: Meta?
Batman: Possible but unlikely, she had leg braces on that I'm sure helped her quite a bit. I'll be sure to be on the lookout for her tonight.
Sonya: Yes about that we are setting up shop here with Black Dragon presence I expect full cooperation from you, GCPD, and whoever else you call in I know you have an extensive network of allies that could prove useful us but keep it minimal I don't need the Justice League in full force.
Batman: What makes you think that you are needed here general? Kano as far as I'm aware isn't even in the states and possibly not even currently on Earth. The woman in question based off physical appearance alone has nothing to do with the Black Dragon. I'll be the one who brings her in, if I need your help I'll call you. But the last thing I need is large militarized group in Gotham only adding to the chaos.
Sonya (walks up to Batman): I know when it comes to military operations you've mostly dealt with people like Waller and Fury but despite my similarities with them. I'm out in the field all the time, I have fought a lot of the same battle that you fought, and last I checked almost every big super criminal team up or alien invasion or crisis we've all came together to fight it. So don't you dare act like I'm pencil pusher who plays chess with people's lives from her office or Fury who spends more time with Avengers than his own soldiers.
Batman: I'm very aware of that General Blade, but that doesn't change anything. Gotham is my city and my operation. I'll make sure the tech she stole gets back to you, but I want you out of Gotham so I can focus.
Batman begins to walk out of what appears to be a large plane back out on the Gotham Docks with the sun shining very clearly being the morning. Johnny looks at Sonya and shrugs.
Sonya: I know what you're thinking. My answer is no.
Johnny: He's right though a militarized force is a city like this might send the wrong message. I'll handle this and I'll report back to you.
Johnny heads out of the plane rather quickly he sees Batman talking to Gordon and using some sort of device.
Johnny: Yo bats! Wait a second man!
As Johnny walks up to Batman the Special Forces plane takes off and a lightning bolt strikes it indicating that Raiden has teleported them.
Johnny: Look I get it government involvement in this city has never gone well, but as you can see it's just me. Let me help you out man, me and you are the brave and the bold! What do you say?
Batman: I appreciate that Mr. Cage, but I told your superior-
Johnny: You don't need our help I get that but let me level with you here, you're a smart guy which implies to me that you're a reader would you say that's an accurate statement?
Batman looks at him calmly but also annoyed. Batman nods agreeing with Johnny that he considers himself a reader and also has access to government files he has no business like GlaDOS massacring Aperture Labs.
Johnny: So I am assuming you know about Aperture?
Batman: Yes, Created everything from simple tools to complex AI so that Cave Johnson could attempt to cheat death. An AI they created went rogue and killed most of the staff. The government came in and had to shut it down, a few survivors were found. The facility is being monitored on a regular basis.
Johnny: So you know the level one version of the story... good. I was apart of the extraction team that rescued the VERY few survivors and that place gave me the heebie jeebies let me tell ya and while you were out cold I did some more reading on our friends at Aperture and it just has me thinking. We don't know what this girl took OR if she's actually human. I know you said you don't think she's a meta but what if-
Batman: She's the rogue AI?
Johnny: Exactly or some kind of cyborg associate. Look you and I have both fought are fair share of evil metal heads this isn't a big leap in logic man!
Batman: Fair assumption, Another rogue AI running around could cause issues that I don't think anyone wants to ponder.
Batman gets a notification that the Batwing is inbound
Batman: We will continue this discussion later, I'll be in touch
Johnny: How will I reach you? I don't exactly have your number.
Batman: I'll find you
The Batwing then begins to hover over them. Batman points his grapnel directly upward and enters the Batwing and flies out of sight back to the cave. Bruce takes off his mask, showing that despite some of the rest that was forced upon him he is visibly tired. Bruce calls Lucius to tell him that he feels unwell and is going to call in sick but before he can do that. The Batwing AI system is receiving a call from Johnny Cage! Accompanied with this announcement is a picture of Johnny and Bruce dressed up at a red carpet event.
Bruce: Do my eyes and ears deceive me?! Am I really getting a call from Ninja Mime himself on this fine Thursday morning?
Johnny: haha why yes it is in fact Hollywood action star turned superhero... Johnny Cage! Hey man what's up!
Bruce: Long time no talk Mr. Cage how have you been? When was the last time we-
Johnny: When we shot Ninja Mime 5, when you met Cassie! She was only 10 then man.
Bruce: Wow time flies! So what's up Johnny? I'm assuming you're in Gotham if you're calling.
Johnny: Yeah so I'm in town for my OTHER job and I'm actually working with the big bad bat on a case! I'm not sure how long it's going to take but I was wondering if you wanted to meet up, for old time's sake.
Bruce: Actually yes, I'm actually going to play hookie today from work, I had long night last night since you're working with Batman I'm assuming you've been acquainted with GCPD?
Johnny: Yeah man, I think I'm looking at the police chief. Older Irish fellow who looks like he smells like cigarettes?
Bruce:That would be Jim Gordon he's the commissioner. More likely than not he'll give you a ride to the nearest station. Once you're there call and I'll send Alfred over to pick you up.
Johnny: Sounds good to me boss man! What should I do if he declines?
Bruce: He won't
Gordon: Hey Hollywood! You coming or what?
Johnny: Well looks were heading out I'll call once I get to GCPD, see ya soon Bruce!
Johnny hangs up right as Batman is entering the cave. The Batwing parks at it's usual spot. Bruce jumps out of the cockpit and begins to walk over to the computer. Ace and Titus both rush over to him and Bruce scratches there head's. Goliath he dragon bat then jumps down from the stalactites.
Bruce: I thought Damian was taking to San Francisco with the rest of the robins?
Alfred: He decided against it because he thought Goliath might get overwhelmed by the city.
Bruce: Then Goliath is to stay in the cave until further notice, Johnny called me after I left him at the docks.
Alfred: I was unaware that he knows you and the Batman are one in the same Master, Bruce.
Bruce: He doesn't, at least until we know we can trust him. I've always heard that after the divorce with Sonya that he started to turn his act together. Got sober, therapy, taking acting more seriously, and even being a constant in his daughter's life. But he's also Johnny Cage I wouldn't put it past anything past him.
Alfred: People change Master Bruce. I've read the tabloids and watched the interviews you have sir. Being thrusted into the spotlight by his father at a young age and then saving the world multiple times. Mr. Cage has had a tough go at the race we called life. Yes he's a filthy rich but I see a tough soul that has struggled with the pressure.
Bruce: Fair enough, he should be at GCPD by now. If you don't mind going to pick him up.
Alfred: No not at all, you know of all your friends from the past that indirectly followed down the path of the bat it's nice to know that one of the few them went down a much more similar path to you than path of Harvey and Thomas.
Bruce: They can't all be heroes Alfred. I'm going to change and work on ID-ing the woman who stole the Aperture tech last night. Call me when you two are close.
1 Hour later in Wayne Manor Alfred opens the door for Johnny, Bruce standing by the front door greets Johnny with a hug.
Alfred: Speaking with Mr. Cage on the way here I had discovered not only did he not find himself a hotel room but he also did not even pack for this trip. Just flew out here, talked to Batman, and made his way to GCPD ready for anything.
Bruce: Typical Johnny, you can stay here for as long as you need. I'm sure Alfred gave you the run on this place multiple guest rooms, gym, movie theater, indoor swimming pool... everything a man of your caliber would require.
Alfred: I'll let you two catch up while I go prepare food for tonight!
Bruce and Johnny then head to the gym located within Wayne Manor and begin to workout and spar. The two friends get reacquainted through physical combat.
Bruce: I know you two jobs that require to be in fighting weight at all times I can tell your holding back!
Johnny: If you're asking me to turn green I'd rather not accidentally hurt!
Bruce: I live in Gotham I can take-
Johnny then glows green and quickly does his signature split move and goes to punch bruce only stop himself before impact.
Johnny: Admit it you're life just flashed before your eyes.
Bruce: I got right up to my 5th birthday! Alfred made arguably one of the best birthday cakes I think I've ever had.
The two share a laugh and end the workout. A few hours later Johnny, Bruce, and Alfred are all having dinner together.
Bruce: If you don't mind me asking, how did you get your powers? Are you a-
Johnny: Mutant? I am not I even got tested for being an Inhuman, Psiot, and Conduit and those came back negative. After I joined up with Special Forces they took me Professor Xavier and before he went off the deep end Toyo Harada. They tested me I came back as negative for those things and as information got out about inhumans and conduits I took some tests and those came back negative. The lightning guy with the bamboo hat you've seen on the news, that's Raiden he's a thunder god like Thor so he's been around the block a couple of times. He thinks that one of my ancestors was apart of some weird cult out in the Mediterranean that "bred soldiers for the gods" him along with a handful of other benevolent god types and the heroes of that era raided the island and liberated all these slaves they were breeding like dogs essentially. One of the slaves that helped them in the revolt was a woman with my exact same powers and he hasn't seen anyone else with those abilities since.
Alfred: Well you know Master Bruce, does a lot of work with Professor Xavier and his schools.
Johnny: Yep I'm very aware, he told me you guys set up a scholarship through the Wayne foundation so I did the same! That guy does a lot of good work and the government for years tried to make him the enemy of the state. They even tried to get SF to go in there and take him and the X-Men in. We declined obviously.
Alfred: Yes it is quite a shame about they have been treated over the years. It's funny that you mention your friend with ties to an ancient past I have always thought that the history of the world is fascinating especially as more and more things once thought fantastical have become reality as the years carry on. I remember a time one of the only known masked heroes was Captain Rogers. Now I feel like you can't turn on the news without a story about how the Justice League fought off the third alien invasion of the week.
Johnny: Yeah there are a lot of us now for sure. I told Raiden about that very same thought and he told me this (impersonating his voice as big and booming almost mocking him) "This world is such a big place Johnny Cage. Surely you don't think warriors have amassed in large numbers like this before. Yes there have been periods of time more peaceful than others but as long as there are good souls this realm and all others will always have noble warriors ready to defend it to the last breath". Such as someone like your Batman, another wild Raiden story apparently he fought with the Miagani tribe that was based here and guess what they worshipped?!
Bruce: Bats, I'm familiar with Miagani customs I read up on them in school nothing about Chinese Thunder Gods and Mediterranean Cults that bred magically powered people.
Johnny: They might've ripped out some chapters in the text book which reminds me I have been shurking on my cool uncle duties how's Damian been.
Bruce: He's doing great, he's adjusted completely to Gotham Academy. Dick and Tim actually took him and some of their friends out to San Francisco as a little getaway for him since it's spring break. How's Cass?
Johnny: She's doing good I know you've seen her on the news. As much as me and Sonya don't LOVE the idea of her rushing into danger guns blazing, she's killing it. She did a joint op with SHIELD a couple weeks back, I can't give you the details obviously but let's just say there's a would be dictatorship in the Rook Islands that won't be!
Bruce: I can live without the details of the world being safer if two Cage's are running around protecting it.
Johnny: I appreciate that Bruce! It's good to see you man I really appreciate that. She's a chip off the old block.
The conversation eventually ends and the 3 of them call it a night. Johnny goes to sleep only to have a n nightmare about what seems to be the end of the world. He is in a building of a post apocalyptic city that has been ran down and the sky is blood red. He is shirtless, all cut up, the tattoo on his back has a large slash mark, and both eyes are black. Johnny gets up from the ground and hobbles over to fight an unseen enemy. He walks about a dead Hellboy who's horns fully grown but the right hand of doom is shattered, a shriveled up Superman, and impaled Rayne. Johnny walks out to see many dead allies other heroes dead throughout the streets such as dead Special Forces soldiers such as his friend Jax missing his robot arms, Liu Kang burnt to a crisp, and Kung Lao cut in half by his own Hat. Some of the other heroes that are dead include stone remnants of the Manhattan Clan of Gargoyles, XO Manowar wearing his army but drenched in blood, and Hulk's hand sticking out from a pile of debris. Johnny sees what appears to be a cyborg Tony Stark and Batman wearing a leather jacket around his uniform instead of the cape and using a machine fighting an unseen enemy. Two blasts of green energy take them both out for the count. Johnny turns to see what looks like a zombified Shao Kahn but holding two blonde women by the hair, Sonya and Cassie.
Shao Kahn: Hello Cage
Johnny: That's not possible... you're dead
Shao Kahn: Perhaps I was... Perhaps I never was dead. What is death truly? I would like to test death help me chose which one I kill your daughter or your love.
Johnny instead musters all his strength, begins to glow green and jumps at Shao Kahn. Time seems to be slowing down Shao Kahn smiles at Johnny, undead tyrant punches Johnny through the chest which causes Johnny to wake up sweating in bed fully alert. He glances over at the alarm clock and see it says 3:30 AM. Not being able to go back to sleep he heads to the indoor pool to swim some laps, after swimming some laps he goes to the bathroom to shower and clean up. Once he dries off and puts on pants he goes to walk out of the room only to have Batman standing in front of him.
Johnny: Jesus Christ! How'd you get in here?
Batman: That's not important, what is important is I have some information for you. I found the tech thief.
Johnny: Ok I'm listening
Batman: Her name is Chell and she's been in Gotham for almost a year. I also know a location she frequents. Pauli's Diner in downtown Gotham.
Johnny: That's great when are we heading over.
Batman: Go back to sleep and get some rest, ask the butler to take to you Pauli's in the morning.
Johnny: So were just going i-
Batman has disappeared. Johnny shakes it off and goes back to bed to get a little bit of sleep. Fast forward a couple of hours later Alfred drops off Johnny at Pauli's the diner looks relatively empty. The hostess greets Johnny and walks him to the back table and he sees Bruce Wayne drinking coffee, Bruce nods at Johnny and that's when Johnny puts it all together that Bruce is Batman.
Johnny: I have so many questions for you holy shit! So your-
Bruce: Not so loud, but yes I am Batman
Johnny: Ok next question why are we hear if we are looking for someone who stole dangerous tech.
The waitress arrives to take their order she is a quiet young woman with name tag that says "Michelle". Bruce and Johnny both look up to see that their waitress is very clearly Chell.
Chell: Hello welcome to Pauli's have you guys decided what you would like to eat?
Bruce looks at Johnny and he just smiles. It's now 5 PM the diner is closed Chell begins to walk through an alley to go home. Johnny Cage and Batman are standing on the rooftops waiting to make their next move. Batman nods at Johnny and they both jump glides down in front of Chell and Johnny jumps off of some fire escapes before landing behind her.
Johnny: Hello Ms. Michelle is it? Or do you prefer Chell because it's your actual name?
Chell: I don't want trouble
Batman: There won't be any trouble if you just give us back the Aperture tech you stole from the docks.
Chell: It was already stolen tech and in worse hands than mine.
Johnny: Look we won't argue the semantics of that but that doesn't change the fact that you stole the tech. Whatever your goal is were not going to let that happen.
Chell than kicks Johnny in the face and tries to go around Batman only for Batman to grab and then slam her back down on the ground. She gets up before Batman can restrain her and enters a defensive stance.
Batman: It doesn't have to be like this Chell. We can help you
Johnny: We both know what happened at Aperture, we both of the read the files... Hell I was apart of the extraction team for any survivors.
Chell: Survivors?
Johnny: Not many but we found some, courtesy of Doug Rattman another survivor. He told us everything we needed to know. Gruesome stuff but we can help you make sure that doesn't happen to anyone else ever again.
Chell decides to leave and is able to successful dodge both Batman and Johnny Cage and right as she's about to run out of the alley Goliath slams down and roars in her face. Chell freezes in her tracks not knowing what to do. The Batmobile then slowly pulls up behind Batman and Johnny Cage.
Batman: That's Goliath, he's with us! He won't bite but he insists that you give us the Aperture tech.
Chell: Fine, does your car have GPS
Johnny: Dude this baby has everything, Satellite radio, cupholders, surround sound, and non lethal weapons. Everything you would need in a place like this just hop in!
Batman: Goliath, follow us on the rooftops.
Goliath grunts and nods that he understands and climbs up the building. Chell also jumps in the passenger seat of the Batmobile even though Johnny said "shotgun". The drive to what appears to be Chell's appartment.
Chell: We'll go through the fire escape. Don't need a bunch of ruckus about the quiet waitress taking you two home.
The cockpit of the Batmobile opens and she walks out.
Johnny: You know what they say about the quiet girls.
Batman than looks at Johnny, pretends to ignore the joke, and grapnels to fire escapes Chell is climbing.
Johnny (thinking to himself): Maybe my agent is right... I shouldn't do stand up.
Batman (thinking to himself): Booster and Johnny would be best friends. Kord better watch out.
Before they enter the apartment Batman signals to Goliath to stay put and be look out. Johnny and Batman follow Chell through the window. They walk into the room to see the portal gun on a makeshift work bench as well clippings of newspaper articles about Cave Johnson, Aperture Labs, and even articles about Black Mesa. Chell than gestures that they all come to her bedroom
Chell: The tech I took is right there. (She points to a satellite dish pocking out of her window) As you can see that's no weapon. That is a homing beacon I set up
Batman: For what exactly?
Chell: A friend...
Goliath begins to roar and howl at the sky. Goliath then takes flight after and charges something what appears to be something small coming and fast. Goliath than lands on the fire escape shaking it. With small robot that bears a resemblance to an eye ball. The robot has a British accent and says "Bloody hell, is that how you greet visitors now? Send demons to chase them away are you mad!"
Chell: Wheatley!
Wheatley: You can talk now? I'm more surprised you remember that than my own name, I know I tried to kill you last time I saw you but I mean it when I say this after a lot of reflection... it's good to see you again Chell.
Chell: Johnny, you can have the satellite but I'm keeping Wheatley.
Johnny: Uh... yeah for sure BUT you got to connect with me and Bats once in awhile. Make sure that the murder robo-ball doesn't relapse.
Chell nods her head and hands her the small satellite dish and Wyld Style continues to glare at Johnny. Batman leaves a communication device for her to contact him when needed.
Batman: When I was trying to figure out who you were I started digging a little deeper. I talked to Gordon about sighting of a new vigilante in Gotham, that wasn't affiliated with me. Just about everyone with a mask to hide there face in this city is affiliated with me in some way so I was alarmed when he told me there's some girl with white laser that shoots portals lifts objects and jumps really high and wears a track suit. After our encounter at the docks I started going through files everywhere, facial recognition and I eventually found you. But what I still don't understand, who hit me from behind that night?
The door to the apartment opens and a female voice exclaims "Chell, you home? Sorry I was late traffic was an absolute nightmare. You hungry, I stopped at Big Belly Burger I was feeling generous!" It is none other than Sara Lance, The White Canary.
Sara: You know, I know you're not much a of talker but I thought you at least jump at the smell of big-
Sara then sees Batman and Johnny standing in the room with Chell along with Goliath holding Wheatley out through the window.
Johnny: It's ok were friends! Right Chell?
Chell nods
Sara: Well I didn't get enough for everybody you're welcome to stay but uh-
Batman: That won't be necessary, I'm assuming you're the one that hit me.
Sara: That is correct
Batman quickly looks at her and then jumps out of the window, Goliath then hands Wheatley over to Chell and then flies off.
Johnny: I should probably getting going huh? I'll be in touch with both of you ladies!
Johnny jumps out of the window then follows Batman to the Batmobile. They both enter the car and drive back to the Cave with Goliath flying over them on the rooftops.
Johnny: You know we don't hang out as regularly when we were both training under Boyd but you seem off what's up?
Batman: Almost all of my questions have been answered, we know who is Chell, her roommate I recognize her she's The White Canary former member of the League of Assassins, we know Aperture is not a threat for the moment, AND we know what Chell took.
Johnny: Exactly all questions answered... right?
Batman: At the docks, The Black Dragon had weapons from an organization from something called Group 935. Alfred was able to do some research and the most he found out about them was they were a think tank contracted by the Nazis after Hydra splintered off. Alfred and I are hard pressed to find anymore information about them other than that. The files are encrypted or blacked out for the most part and we've gotten almost nothing.
Johnny: Well don't look at me man, I'm just a field operator they don't tell me shit. Do you think they're tied to Aperture and the Black Dragons?
Batman: Unlikely if Jarek has contacts in Hydra selling off their stuff to them, I have fought along side and against people who've fought in the second world war. I have heard stories and researched it as much as I thought I possibly. I have never heard of a "Group 935", but I saw demonstration and scanned some of the tech. I don't want weapons like that in Gotham.
Johnny: So this where we form our a badass new super team right. You're the stoic field team leader, I am the badass face of the whole operation we just need to fill out a couple more roles. We need archer, a monster with a heart of gold, a couple of agile types, maybe a soldier, and a noble warrior! Goliath is great but he's not really a talker so I hope you don't mind and the two agile types we just met them! I was even thinking you think Prince Valiant would want to join this group were forming? What should our name be?
Batman: I'm glad you think this funny Johnny, when you get back to Special Forces HQ you should ask for the demonstration of what those weapons can do.
Johnny: No Bruce, I'm sorry man I just... it's been a weird time lately you know you know what I mean? I went from big time movie star to washed up actor and then saved the world which wound up doing wonders for my career and then I get married then divorced. I'm still trying to find my place in all this man, you know.
Batman: More than you know...
Meanwhile in the deserts of Nevada a lightning bolt strikes down just outside of the bunker of Rip Hunter. Raiden has appears where the lightning bolt struck and begins to walk to the door. The door opens Rip Hunter is working on a computer and looks up to see Raiden. He stops what he is doing and begins to walk to the Thunder God.
Rip Hunter: I assume you've located the tech?
Raiden: Gotham City, Jarek had the weapons from Group 935 just like your mole in Hydra said. The one called Chell also took something from "Aperture Science". I believe she summoned her AI friend Wheatley.
Rip Hunter: Thanks to Watchtower sensors I can confirm that she manage to bring Wheatley back. If we are going off of the files however one more personality core is missing but we can recover it another time. Do we know how Mr. Cage and The Bat collaborated?
Raiden: Unsure, General Blade is flying to Gotham now to bring him back to the Special Forces base here in Nevada. But I would assume it went well enough for Johnny Cage to tell Sonya this:
Raiden then places his amulet down on Rip Hunter's work bench. A hologram of Johnny Cage appears saying "Mission successful General Blade, you better start watching how you talk to me I think I got a real shot of joining the Justice League!"
Rip Hunter: I'm assuming they're not turning in Chell or Ms. Lance?
Raiden: Johnny Cage was insistent that the Special Forces should leave Chell alone and as for the White Canary, he omitted that information.
Rip Hunter: That's for the better, we'll need them Raiden. We're going to need everyone for the storm that's coming. We'll reconvene later, I believe my research as finally located who we've been looking for.
Raiden: You have located Primis?
Rip Hunter: Not sure yet, but I am close. Once they're located I'm going to need you and the others to help recover them and then we can implement the next phase of the operation.
Raiden: What we do now we do to secure a better tomorrow.
Raiden then teleports away. Rip Hunter then walks back to his computer and on our tabs for the Justice League, Group 935, Primis, and "The List"
