Madison and Zor as morning came and the sun was about to go out. She wanted to sleep more until she felt being shook.
"Maddie... Maddie!" Fiona voice whispered out, trying to wake her.
Madison groaned and stretched, "What is it?"
"You and Donkey are right? I'm gonna tell Shrek about this."
"Huh?" Madison was half asleep, but she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes she saw Fiona heading towards the door.
"Shrek! Shrek, there's something I want..." Fiona hollered but looked to see that Shrek wasn't at the camp.
Madison quickly got off of the sacks and stood in of the miller and saw Fiona glowing and sparkle as the sunlight hit her until she was back in her human form and ran off.
"Zor. Zor! Come on buddy, time to wake up." Madison whispered.
The baby dragon let a yawn and stretch until he looked at Madison and panted. Madison giggled as she petted him but heard Shrek and Fiona's conversation.
"I... I don't... There's something I have to tell you." Fiona spoke outside.
"You don't have to tell me anything, princess. I heard enough last night." Shrek replied.
"You heard what I said?"
"Every word."
"I thought you'd understand."
"Oh, I understand. Like you said, 'Who could love a hideous, ugly beast?' "
"But I thought that wouldn't matter to you."
"Yeah? Well, it does." said Shrek.
Madison stood up and head to the doorway with Zor. They both saw Fiona looking at the ogre in shock with tears welling in her eyes until they heard the sound of horses.
"Ah, right on time. Princess, I've brought you a little something." Shrek gestures.
Everyone looked to see a group of guards coming but also saw Farquaad in an armor and riding a horse.
"Princess Fiona." he spoke as he was admiring her beauty.
"As promised. Now hand it over." said Shrek as he got off the stairs.
"Very well, ogre. The deed to your swamp, cleared out, as agreed. Take it and go before I change my mind."
Shrek snatches the deed out of the hands of a guard and walks away. Madison stood behind Fiona, who was put off by this exchange.
" Forgive me, Princess, for startling you, but you startled me, for I have never seen such a radiant beauty before. I am Lord Farquaad." he introduced.
"Lord Farquaad? Oh, no, no. Forgive me my lord." Fiona spoke as Farquaad snapped his fingers to one of the guards. "For I was just saying a short... farewell."
The girls looked at the guard lowering him down and saw that his size was up to the princess's waist.
"Oh, that is so sweet. You don't have to waste good manners on the ogre. It's not like it has feelings."
'You're wrong, Farquaad. He does have feelings.' Madison's mind was in thought as she looked at Shrek and look back Farquaad.
"No, you're right. It doesn't." said Fiona.
Shrek was hurt by the comment as he heard her words, but Donkey watches this exchange with a curious look on his face.
"Princess Fiona, beautiful, fair, flawless Fiona. I ask your hand in marriage." said Farquaad as he took the princess's hand and bend down on knee.
But when he did, Fiona lower back as she was dragged down.
"Will you be the perfect bride for the perfect groom?" he asked.
Fiona looked at him but looked at Shrek. He was looking at her with his ears perked down and looked away.
"Lord Farquaad, I accept. Nothing would make..."
"Excellent" Farquaad interrupted, "I'll start the plans, for tomorrow we wed!"
"No!" Fiona outburst but cleared her throat. "I mean, uh, why wait? Let's get married today. Before the sun sets."
" Oh, anxious, are you?" said Farquaad as he raised his eyebrow and smiled, "You're right. The sooner, the better. There's so much to do!"
"But wait..." said Fiona as she stopped him and looked at Madison, "Can my friend come? I need her... as a bridesmaid."
Madison just looked at the princess, but Farquaad was looking at her.
"Huh? A peasant girl as a bridesmaid?" he asked.
"She's not really a peasant Lord Farquaad." said Fiona, "She's my best friend and I like for her to be my bridesmaid for our wedding."
Lord Farquaad looked at Madison and then looked back at the princess and smiled.
"If that's what my princess would want then very well. She shall come."
"Thank you, Lord Farquaad."
"Yes. Thank you, my lord."
"Right as I was saying there's so much to do." Farquaad snaps his fingers and made one of the guards lift him up to the horse's back, "There's the caterer, the cake, the band, the guest list. Captain, round up some guests! There's so much to do!"
Fiona gets hoisted up by a guard and sat on the horse behind Farquaad. As everyone leaves, Madison looked back to see Shrek walking away but to see her dragon following her.
"Fare-thee-well, ogre." Fiona said coldly as she looked at Shrek but then look away.
Madison couldn't believe Fiona would say it but she knows Shrek hurt her feelings and he really did misunderstand what he overheard last night. Zor stood beside his mistress and looks at her.
"Everything will be okay Zor." she whispered and the dragon growl softly.
At the arrival at the Farquaad's castle, Fiona and Madison were escorted to different rooms for the preparation. Zor somehow found a way to sneak somewhere inside the castle where the guards won't see her. Madison have looked around the room, like it was her new bedroom to stay until the tailors came in and start doing their work as they were measuring her.
A couple of hours, the tailors have done their work. Madison into fitting wearing a light blue silk dress with white and her hair was curled up with a light blue headband. It looks perfect with her necklace as she looked at herself in the mirror. Once the tailors left, Zor got out of his hiding spot and looked at her as he purred.
"Like the color on my dress?" she asked him, and Zor purred and chirped.
Madison smiled at her dragon but in her mind, she couldn't stop thinking about what happen this morning.
"Let's go and find Fi." she said and the two exit the room.
Down the hall, Madison and Zor kept looking for Fiona but doesn't see her around but the one scene she remembered was that she was at the dining room. That's the room they need to find. As they kept walking, a voice spoke from a room that is beside her made her stop.
"Miss... Oh, miss." it spoke which sounds like a man.
Madison looked at the room and slowly went in until Zor went past her.
"Zor!" she whispered as she tried to get him but as she looks around, no one was around. It was empty.
"Miss!" the voice spoke again.
She looked up and saw a familiar mirror in front of her. She got closer too it but as the face pops up, she gasped as she was startled.
"So, it is true. You're one of the saviors of Oz and you are wearing the necklace." he said as he looked at the necklace.
"How did you know- No wait! You don't have to answer that. You are the Magic Mirror that knows everything."
"You've heard of me?"
"Read stories about them." she answered, and Zor looked at the mirror.
"Impressive. Since you already know everything about me, your name is Madison, and your little dragon friend here is called Zor."
"Yes." that was all Maddie can reply on.
"I suppose you already know why Lord Farquaad wanted to marry Princess Fiona so he can be King, right?"
"Yes, I do."
"And you already know about the princess's secret?"
"She told me. But...I'm worried about her, Mirror. Fiona seems to be falling love with my friend Shrek during our journey back, but I know she's being hurt from a terrible misunderstanding he overheard last night and now she's going to get married to a man, who's not her true love. I don't know if she's in the right path or not."
"Well, it's not my place to say, if I was Cinderella's Fairy Godmother, I'd advise that magic wouldn't solve any problems between right and wrong from the choices we make. I say... Listen and follow your Heart."
Madison looked at the mirror. She remembered those words she said to Fiona last night.
"Yeah..." she smiled, "I need to find the princess, I have to talk to her."
"If you want to find her, she's in the dining room. Go down the hall, down the stairs and go to your left."
"Thank you, Mirror. Come on, Zor." she said and the two exit the room and quickly went down the hall.
Madison remembered the directions as what the Mirror said. She and Zor already went down the hall but went down the stairs and gone left until they finally made it. The two slowly entered the room and saw a long table with two chairs. One was empty but the other... was Fiona. Crying. Madison slowly walked and stood beside her.
"Fi..." she softly spoke as she looked at her in concern.
"Oh! Maddie!" she said as she saw her and tried to wipe her tears, "I didn't see you come in."
"Are you alright?"
"I'm fine." said Fiona but Madison looked at her as she could see her cheeks wet from the tears.
"Are you sure?" she asked
"Yes, I'm sure." she answered but then paused for a moment as she looked at her and sigh, "Uh... I don't really know."
Zor whimpered as he looked at the princess but looked at the food.
"You couldn't stop thinking about him, are you? About Shrek?" Madison asked and Fiona nod her head.
"No matter how hard I tried to forget him, Shrek is always in my memories and all the times we had together on our journey. When I was so close to telling him my secret, the words he said really feel like something punch right through into my chest... and..."
"He just... misunderstood on what you told me and Donkey."
"Yeah. I'm not sure what to think anymore, Maddie. But I hope that you're right."
"Try not to think Fi. Remember what I said to you last night. Listen to your heart."
Fiona looked at Madison, remembering those words and as she was about to say anything else the sound of a clear throat was coming from behind Madison. The girls turned to see a guard at the entrance while Zor hid under the table.
"Sorry to interrupt your conversation your highness and miss but I'm here to tell you that it's time." the guard said as he meant the wedding is beginning.
Madison and Fiona looked at each other and look back at the guard.
"We'll be right there." the princess spoke as she got up from her seat and as the guard bow and left, Zor got out of his hiding.
"You ready for this?" Madison asked.
The princess nods her head but to Madison's surprise was that she was holding her hand and then the two along with Zor have exit the room.
