Hello people of fanfiction!
After two chapters of Voccak's origin story, we get back to the main plot.
The fight between good and evil begins!
I hope you enjoy this one :)
Aang
He was standing in the middle of a white desert, no, this didn't feel like sand, it felt like ice, he was staring down some icy towers with people giving orders to defend against him, as if he was about to attack them.
What's going on? Why are all those people so wary of me? I'm not going to harm them, I don't harm anybody.. I think..
Aang realized that he has no control over his body, he tried to move, he tried to speak, tell them that he's not dangerous, that he's not going to harm them, but he couldn't move, he couldn't speak, as if his body was controlled by someone else, suddenly he heard the words,
"Humanity will be annihilated this very night. Attack, My Children!" The voice sounded very familiar, as if he's heard it before, his vision suddenly turned to show what's behind him.. He couldn't believe it.
A large army of evil spirits, all standing behind him, he also realized where he is, he's outside the walls of the southern watertribe.. could it be?
"Yes, Raava.. I summoned you here to show you how powerful I am.. I'm going to annihilate the southern watertribe right this very moment, the rest of the world will come next.. and eventually, You. I'll never stop until this whole world ends in Darkness." That was Vattu speaking.. Aang realized.
Aang realized where he is, he's seeing through Vattu's vision, Vattu summoned Raava here to show her how powerful he is, and indeed he's very powerful, to the point Aang seriously got scared, how's he going to defeat this army? how's he going to defend the southern watertribe? How's he going to defend-
Sokka and Hakoda!
Aang remembered that Sokka and Hakoda are in the southern watertribe with the rest of their army, how are they going to defend their land against this threat?!
After realizing the danger, Aang jerked himself awake, he woke up screaming loudly. Katara and Senge came running into the room.
"What's it, Aang?! Are you okay?!" Katara said.
"Hakoda and Sokka! They are in danger!"
Katara stopped for a second, "What.. What do you mean?"
"They are in danger! The dark spirit just showed me a vision, he's attacking the southern watertribe right this very moment, his army are standing outside the walls of the southern watertribe! I have to go help!" He tried to get up but he was stopped by the huge pain in his shoulder, so he got back on the bed groaning and holding his bandaged shoulder.
Senge rushed to his side and held him still as Katara was very deep in thought to do so,
"Aang, you are still hurt.. Katara, Say something to him." Senge said, but Katara couldn't answer, as she was staring at the floor, still deep in thought, her face really displayed fear.
"Katara!" Senge shouted, which snapped Katara out of it.
"Huh, What? Oh, Right!" she said before coming to Aang's side,
She sighed, "I know What you are thinking.. but you can't do it."
Aang was still groaning in pain but he still managed to say, "What do you mean I can't do it? Your family is in danger, your country is in danger! I thought you would be the first person to tell me go defend it."
"I promised my brother that no matter what happens, I would still get you to the southern airtemple and help you reactivate your avatar state first." Katara said.
Aang was silent, he couldn't believe what Katara was saying, so she continued, "Aang, Right now saving the world is our top priority, My father and brother can take care of themselves, You need not worry about them, and you said it yourself, they have a girl with them that has great powers.. they are going to be safe, I'm sure of it." Katara said, looking like she's second guessing herself.
Aang sat up on the bed again, holding his bandaged shoulder in pain, "Katara.. I don't get it."
Katara summoned up the courage, she held him and looked him in the eyes, "My father and brother are going to be okay once you get back on your own two feet and defeat this monster once and for all, do you think they'll be happy if you risk the safety of the world for them? They said it themselves, they are willing to die.."
She sighed, "They are willing to die to defeat this monster, and you're the only one that can actually do it.. If you don't do this, then all the people that sacrificed their lives for the world.. including Pattu.. their deaths would be in vain, none of us would want to deal with a feeling like this.. you should go to the southern airtemple, reactivate your avatar state, and go save them.. not just them.. the entire world. we'll finally be free of this curse, Aang.. nobody would have to suffer anymore.. all you have to do it, is go to the southern airtemple and meet this guru, and I'll be with you every step of the way." Katara said, as she posed a smile to him.
Aang knew the smile was to make him feel better, he didn't feel any better, but it was enough to make him consider her words, Katara is willing to sacrifice her own father and brother for the world, how tough is that? Aang knew at this very moment, that he's falling in love with this girl, No.. not girl.. this powerful woman.
He summoned the courage and finally took a breath, and after mulling it over for a couple of minutes, he finally gave her an answer.
"Let's go to the southern airtemple now." He said.
"But you are still recovering." by the time Katara said this, he was already out of bed to get his stuff.
"The longer we wait, the worse this Vattu situation gets.. we have to act now.. Go tell Senge to prepare Abby, we're going to the southern airtemple right now." Aang made a decision.
Katara smiled.. this time it was a warm smile, she got up and said, "Thank you, Aang." She then left the room to do as he told her.
People like Katara are the reason Aang is still fighting, people like her are the reason this world deserves more than Vattu, and so he'll continue to fight for her and for people like her.
some time later, they were all ready, Katara and Aang said their goodbyes to Katara's family and to Kyoshi Island, and they finally took off with Abby and Senge.
Aang could only hope things would go as smoothly as they thought at the southern airtemple..
Zuko
They were ready, all standing tall atop the wall of the northern watertribe, waiting for the enemy to charge.
Zuko, Toph and most importantly, their strongest weapon, the reason they think they might win today, which is Petu.
Petu told Zuko, Toph and Fung his true identity, the identity that he just learned about from Avatar Aang at Yu Dao before he sent him to the norhtern watertrbe.
Petu is in fact, a child of Raava.
As there are souls that were corrupted by the dark spirit Vattu, there are souls that were purified and taken into the light by Raava, only two of them remain in the entire world though, and as the Avatar, Aang was the only one who could sense their presence and know of their existence, just like the dark spirit could follow and know the whereabouts of his subjects.
The two remaining children of Raava are Petu and a girl in the southern watertribe called Miki.
as Children of Raava, they get the same treament as the other powerful spirits, they took human forms, so they get to be reincarnated, much like the avatar, so of course, when Raava recruited the spirits of Petu and Miki, they didn't exactly have the same identity, they were two different persons, but they share the same soul with Miki and Petu.
Zuko found it hard to believe at first, but with everything they have seen from Petu, such raw power that can never be generated from a mere human, No.. it must be a spirit.
Same goes for Miki of the southern watertribe, the stories they heard from the south about the girl who defeated two powerful children of Raava, one of them is standing mere miles away from Zuko right at this very moment.
If Miki defeated two powerful spirits, then Petu can defeat this piece of shit, No Problem. at least that's what Zuko thought, and by the look of determination on Petu's face, it felt like he was thinking the same. Petu told Zuko that he won't rest until evil is driven away from the world, that further proves this youngman's connection to Aang, he says the same words as Aang.
Aang once told Zuko that there was a boy who saw him as a literal god in the northern watertribe, and that boy turned out to be Petu, that's further proof that they are both connected, Zuko found it astonishing that after all this time, it appears Aang did have a plan, and he's going to follow it through to the end.
Suddenly, Zuko was brought back to reality by the voice of Voccak, his voice could be heard all around the place even though it was from a long distance.
"People of the northern watertribe, the time has come for you to surrender to the mighty force that's coming your way, I know you've faced multiple threats in the past and triumphed, but not this time.. this time, the force is just too great, it's immense, you can never stop it, I know you think because you have a light spirit in your midst, that you could win. We have the power of the entire spirit world with us, including the former avatars.." Voccak said, and the soldiers on the walls could never be more frightened by the words, even Zuko himself could feel a chill run up his spine by the words, they are going to fight the former avatars? that's indeed a really strong force.
Voccak continued, "I'm no more than a normal human being just like you, and although my master once believed that this world only deserves to be engulfed by darkness, I convinced him otherwise, this world deserves another chance, but under the rule and protection of My master and father, Vattu, submit to the force, and your lives will be spared.. Decline.. and you shall be exterminated." Voccak finished.
Every person on the wall with the exception of Petu and Toph felt the need to just run away, even Zuko himself felt it.. it was frightening, the way they looked, the force behind Voccak, it was indeed too much, he had an army of dark spirits standing behind him, not to mention the avatars. are they going to surrender?
"No! We will not surrender!" Petu said all of a sudden, his voice as strong as Voccak that it could reach the other side of the field, to Voccak and his army, and with fury that could take over the whole world,
he continued, "You said it yourself, Voccak.. This tribe has faced multiple threats in the past and triumphed, you are no exception, You'll be defeated! The former Avatars you are talking about have the power of the four elements, but they have no avatar spirits to protect them in the time of need, you used to be invincible back in your world, but just like you said, here you are just an ordinary man, with ordinary vitals, once you get stabbed in the chest, or drown in a ball of water of the making of a waterbender.." he looked at Zuko as he said, "or get burned by fire.." and then he looked at Toph as he said, "Or get hit by a rock in your face," he then looked at Voccak and continued, "or get purified by a waterbender who knows the art, you'll be finished. once and for all. same goes to the rest of your army, including the goons you call former avatars.. we're not terrified of you, Voccak.. because we both know the outcome of this. Ultimately, Evil never wins, and this time is no exception." Petu finished.
It was Voccak's turn to show fury, "Remember, Petu.. you brought this upon yourself, now your beloved tribe will suffer the consequences.", Voccak was silent for a second, but then his face got even more furious as he said, "CHARGE, SUBJECTS OF VATTU, CHARGE!" He shouted to his army, and they indeed started to charge.
Zuko could only look in terror as all those evil spirits are charging, Zuko knew that Petu's speech wasn't enough to make the rest of the soldiers more courageous, it was enough to make Voccak fear his power, but was it enough to make the soldiers of the northern watertribe fight for him? by the looks of it, it wasn't.
He took a look at the soldiers and he found that they were shivering, Zuko didn't know much about waterbending, but he knew enough to be certain that this wasn't a proper waterbending stance, the fear that consumed the soldiers messed with their minds, and with the exception of Petu and Toph, no one else was ready for this war, Zuko looked at Petu and Toph, and he found that they were determined, and focussed, they couldn't even spare him a look to tell him what to do.
He knew it was his responsibility to make sure those soldiers stand right, Master Fung told him that out of all the people atop the world, he's the one with the leadership skills suited for this, but how? how's he going to do it when he himself is shivering and frightened? Why did Master Fung say that he's the only one with the leadership skills? why didn't he say it was Petu or Toph? they seem to be doing alright. He knew there was no time to think of the how and why, so he took a deep breath, and then a deeper one, and he stood tall looking at the soldiers with the most determined look he could master.
"What's going on with you?! I thought we spoke of how strong this foe is going to be and we agreed that we're going to fight him together, Did you have a change of heart?" Zuko shouted at the soldiers.
A soldier stepped up, "We didn't.. We would die for our country.. but not his way.." A soldier said, who Zuko knew his name was Kelraq, his voice was shaky, like a lost child.
"We're not made for this, Master Zuko.. this is not what we were trained for.. this is pure madness!" another soldier said, who Zuko knew her name was Enni, her voice as shaky as Kelraq's, that raised ruckus among the ranks, they kept arguing until Zuko stopped them.
Zuko whistled loudly which grabbed the attention of all the soldiers, they were immediately silenced and were waiting for him to speak, even Toph and Petu gave him an ear.
"No one in the history of this world was made for this, Enni.. not even the avatar himself, we were born with pure souls, we weren't cut to fight for good or evil, we were just neutrals, how we became afterwards is our own making.. I'm a firebender who fights for waterbenders because I chose to be this way, Toph is an earthbender who fights for waterbenders because she chose to be this way.. and not just this tribe, the entire world.. we didn't come together as one because we were made for this.. we came together as one, because we chose to say No to evil.. we chose to stand in front of the darkness and be humanity's shield, Humanity needs us now more than ever, and we chose to help it because we have no other choice. because humanity isn't just people who are different from us, they are our family, our comrades.. our mothers, our fathers, our brothers, our sisters.. we chose to fight for them. I'm the same as you are, I'm terrified of this foe that's about to reach our gates.. My hands are trembling, my insides are going crazy and what I want most is to take the easy way out and take a ship to the earth kingdom.. but what's next? They will take the watertribes, and then they will reach the shores of the earth kingdom and take it, and then the airtemples and then the firenation.. and they will take over the entire world, killing everyone in their path, would you want this upon your families? upon your tribe?" Zuko said, and all of the soldiers looked down, they knew that wasn't what they wanted.
Zuko continued, "I'm afraid just like the rest of you, but fear cuts both ways, it could make you run away, or it could make you stand tall and fight for those you are afraid for, As a person with a choice.. I choose the latter.. I CHOOSE TO FIGHT FOR THOSE I'M AFRAID FOR!" Zuko shouted, and suddenly the soldiers on the wall shouted too, Zuko kept shouting and the soldiers did the same.
Petu and Toph followed suit, and shouted with the rest of them as well.
They kept shouting in front of the danger, waiting for it to arrive.. because they chose to do so.
Sokka
Sokka stood atop the wall of the southern watertribe, waiting for the master of evil to arrive. He kept staring at Vattu, he couldn't believe how afraid he was by merely looking at the master of evil, he was enormous, he looked terrifying, he couldn't believe such creature was defeated before, he looked to be the most powerful creature in the history of existence, or maybe it's just Aang is way too humble that he can't show that he's much stronger than him, Sokka couldn't know for sure, as they were all thoughts at the back of his head, all he thought about at the moments was how to take down this mighty beast.
All the while, Hakoda was shouting at his soldiers and making a speech about defending the tribe, the soldiers needed that encouragement, they needed it to be able to stand in front of this evil.
The only person who seemed to not pay any attention to Hakoda was Miki, as she was staring at the master of evil with rage in her eyes.
"You seem to be ready." Sokka said to her.
Miki seemed to be in thought and Sokka brought her out of it, she waited for a couple of seconds before saying, "I am ready.. but I am also disappointed."
Sokka got confused, "What are you disappointed about?"
"That piece of shit isn't here." She said.
Sokka smiled, "What were you going to do if Voccak was here?" Sokka asked.
Miki thought for a while before saying, "I don't know.. something stupid, I guess." She responded.
Sokka chuckled, "I bet you would.. Remember what I told you, Miki.. You're a child of Raava.. You, Petu and Avatar Aang are the only people that can bring this world to balance, we need you." Sokka said.
Miki looked at Sokka with determination in her eyes, "Don't worry, Master Sokka. I'm ready this time, I will make Master Pakku proud.. I promise." Miki said.
Sokka believed her, he patted her shoulder and left her on the spot to join Hakoda,
"What's the plan?" Hakoda asked upon his arrival.
"I don't know.. we'll figure it out." Sokka responded with disappointment. He was disappointed at himself for not thinking of a solid plan, The situation was just too much for him, Vattu being here in the southern watertribe was just too much, he never told her, but he was as disappointed as Miki about Voccak not coming here, for two reasons, the first one which he shares with Miki, is to get back at him for killing Master Pakku, and the second is because he's a much weaker foe than Vattu.
Hakoda kept shouting words of encouragement at the soldiers, giving them instructions and throwing a very powerful speech that could move a rock, Sokka had to admit, his father was really good at being a leader, his father does his role perfectly, so he has to do his as well, which is being a strategist, the problem is.. he's facing the biggest danger humanity has ever faced, how's he gonna find a plan against that?!
Sokka massaged his temples with his fingers, he was getting more and more agitated by the second.
Hakoda came beside him and put a hand on his shoulder, "Don't worry, we've got this." Hakoda reassured.
Sokka smiled at his dad, "I know we do." He responded, his father smiled back at him and both of them looked at the target ahead, Sokka was still anxious about not finding a plan to defeat Vattu, but he knew that it was inevitable, so he just decided to wait for the right moment, but until then, he's going to keep thinking of a plan to defeat this monster once and for all. His thoughts were interrupted by Vattu's cry of war,
"Humanity will be annihilated this very night. Attack, My Children!" and with that it began. thousands of dark spirits charged at the southern watertribe walls, the sight was terrifying, but Hakoda did his best to keep the soldiers steady.
"It's your lives or your familes', whichever you choose will be determined by the decisions you make right this very moment, will you choose yours by running away? or will your choose your families' by standing your grounds and fight!" Hakoda shouted, and the soldiers shouted with him.
"ARRAAAAAAAGH" All of them shouted, it's time for war.
As soon as the targets came into shooting distance, Hakoda gave the order for the waterbenders to attack.
They threw their ice spikes which landed on top of the sprits like arrows.
A lot of spirits fell down, but they weren't much compared to the ones that survived the blast. Hakoda ordered the waterbenders to keep shooting, the shots landed on lots and lots of spirits, they vaporized away immediately, but still it wasn't even near enough, there were a lot of them. The dark spirits made it to the wall, and they started to climb, they climbed the wall like lizards, they were too fast, but the watertribe people just kept shooting.
Hakoda, Sokka and the warriors took out their clubs and took their fighting stances, ready to defend the waterbenders atop the wall.
The Dark spirits finally arrived at the wall, and they made contact with the soldiers, chaos ensued. Sokka, Hakoda and Miki joined the fray, Miki began taking out dark spirits left and right, fighting with the fury of an army, Sokka and Hakoda did their best to stay alive.
The same couldn't be said for their soldiers, as they were getting killed, whether by getting tossed from atop the wall, or getting devoured by one of the spirits.
The Dark spirits suddenly stepped away from Miki, but they kept fighting the other soldiers, Miki was confused, but she knew moments later why was that.
The Ultimate Dark spirit, the master of evil, was standing behind her, she turned around to look at him with eyes that were scared at first but then that fear turned to fury. "I believe it's not fair to throw pathetic normal spirits your way.. you are way too strong for them.. You deserve a formidable foe such as yourself. Unfortunately, the one you are going to get is much, much stronger than you are." Vattu said, preparing himself to fight.
Miki could only smirk at him, "Bring it on, big boy." She responded sarcastically.
Vattu charged at Miki and the fight between The Master of Evil and the child of Raava began.
That's it for this chapter
I hope you enjoyed it.
Have a good one :)
