Jaune was staring at the card he received from the Gacha (Sword Talent – God). Thinking back to the time he first got the system. Jaune remembered that talent was one of the things that he could receive from the system. However, not once did Jaune receive anything remotely similar to talent. That's why he forgot about it.
"Alice, are all talents God rarity?" Jaune asked.
[No. Talent is in all rarity types. From Trash to God rarity. The higher the rarity, the greater the talent one would receive. God rarity talents are immensely hard to come by as no more than ten people in the Infinite Reality have such talent. Those who receive a God Talent, whatever the talent may be, it would feel natural to them. If a Demi-God Talent takes a hundred years to accomplish something, a God talent will achieve it within a year]
"Holy Oum! You got to be kidding!" Jaune shouted in shock. "Against common people, none would be able to contend against someone with a God Talent in that specified area. That's balance breaking talent".
[Hence the reason why it's called a God Talent. (Sword Talent – God) and (Divine Sword Knowledge – God) goes hand in hand. With one of them, you could be called a peerless genius in your own right, even if it's just knowledge. But put them together, and you become a monster amongst monsters]
"I get that," Jaune said. "With (Divine Sword Knowledge – God) I was able to learn all the basic swordsmanship with ease. Although, executing the technique needed me to train it on my own".
[Does Jaune wish to integrate with (Sword Talent – God)?
Note: Jaune may only integrate with one Sword Talent. Once integrated, Jaune will not be allowed to integrate with another Sword Talent even if the second Sword Talent is of higher grade]
"That's quite a penalty," Jaune said. "That means that if I accidentally integrate with a Trash rarity talent, then I would be screwed. The prospect of that happening is quite scary".
[No need to fret Jaune. As long as you do not wish to integrate a Talent, then it won't integrate]
"Thanks for calming me down," Jaune said. "Go ahead, Alice. Integrate (Sword Talent – God)".
[Integrating (Sword Talent – God) in progress]
Once Jaune heard Alice, he was ready to feel pain, just like when he integrated with (Divine Sword Knowledge – God). However, after a few minutes of waiting, Jaune never felt a single bit of pain. Instead, he felt warm energy from within. Jaune likes the warm feeling.
[Integration completed. Congratulation, Jaune, for getting a God Talent]
With the Gacha for the day done, Jaune headed down the stairs and into the kitchen to eat breakfast. In the Arc Household, originally, they only had cereals or fruits for breakfast. But ever since Jaune got (Master Chef), everyone would wait for Jaune to make breakfast. Even a simple egg and toast made by Jaune is mouth-watering.
During breakfast, everyone in the Arc Household was having a conversation. Most of the conversations were from Jaune's older sisters about boys they fancy. However, Saphron snorted and said that she wasn't into any guys. The conversation went well until Noah, Jaune's father, asked Jaune a question.
"So, Jaune," Noah said. "You're already thirteen this year. Have you decided the path you're going to take for the future?".
Everyone became silent. Noah is a great Huntsman and all, but he's someone that can't read the mood. The moment everyone stopped talking, he did not realise something was wrong. Instead, he pressed on.
"I'm willing to support you with whatever choice you make," Noah said. "However, one thing I will not support you on is your childish notion of being a Huntsman".
"Don't worry, dad. I don't plan to be a Huntsman," Jaune lied to his father without batting an eye. He hated lying to his family or lying in general. However, it was the only thing he could do. "I'm heading to town today. There is a fair in town about a different career path that I might be interested in".
"That's good!" Noah said. He then looked at his oldest daughter Saphron. "Saph, go with Jaune to town. Make sure that he doesn't get hurt".
"Sure, why not?" Saphron said. "I made plans to head to town for the fair as well. Terra will be there. We can both watch Jaune".
"That's great," Noah said. He then looked at Jaune. "What time are you departing?".
"Around noon," Jaune said. "Any later would not be ideal. Going early is also not good since they would not have finished setting everything up".
After that conversation, the mood returned to normal. However, Jaune's sister and mother knew that Jaune was not telling the truth. Noah is the only one that would have easily believed what Jaune said. Noah is not stupid to trust everything. He is usually very untrusting. This part of him only appears when he's home with the family. Saphron leaned to Jeanne and whispered to her.
"Hey, Jeanne," Saphron whispered. "Do you think that Jaune is actually going to drop his dream of being a Huntsman? Because I don't. Something is fishy here, and it's not your foot this time".
"First of all. Hey!" Jeanne said in a hushed tone. "Secondly, Jaune, that stubborn idiot dropping his dream? Not a chance! You're right about something fishy going on. Jaune was never this good at lying. If I was not very familiar with Jaune, I would have thought that he was telling the truth".
"Right! That's what I thought as well," Saphron said. "Whatever, I'll be heading to town with Jaune. Maybe I'll be able to find whatever is going on. Or maybe we are all just overthinking things".
Later at noon, Jaune and Saphron headed to town. Once they arrived, they saw the place bustling with people. After walking for a few minutes in town, Jaune and Saphron spotted the fair. This was not a fair that you have fun in…well, you can have fun if it means looking for a job prospect. This was a career fair.
In the distance was a dark-skinned person waving a hand at Saphron and Jaune. This was Terra, Saphron's 'friend'. Saphron didn't know that Jaune had already seen them kissing once when he saw them outside his window. None of their family knows that Saphron and Terra were dating. Many people will be weirded out by their relationship, but Jaune didn't care. To him, as long as Terra makes Saphron happy, it doesn't matter if they are the same gender.
While Jaune and Saphron were greeting each other, Jaune took this chance to slip away. But before he left, he secretly put something in Saphron's hand without her finding out. A few minutes later, Saphron was about to introduce Jaune to Terra when she realised that Jaune was gone and that she was holding onto a piece of paper.
Saphron read the paper, and she realised that Jaune knew about her dating Terra. After reading the paper, Saphron giggled since Jaune wasn't judging her sexual orientation. Terra looked at Saphron and asked what was going on.
"Nothing," Saphron said. "I didn't think that someone already knew about our relationship. Maybe it's time for me to come out to my family about my sexual preference".
"Are you sure?" Terra asked. "I don't mind if you decide to tell your family now, but I think you should tell them when you're ready. Are you ready?".
"I am. And I have to thank Jaune for giving me the courage to be ready," Saphron said. "How about you come home with me? I'll tell my family about me, then I can properly introduce you as my girlfriend".
While Saphron and Terra were having a conversation, Jaune was in a blacksmithing booth. There he saw the people showcasing their techniques. However, to Jaune, who has (Master Blacksmith), he has counted no less than ten flaws in their process. Whether it was their hammering, control of the temperature, Jaune can see their mistake.
"Your control over the temperature of the furnace is subpar," Jaune said. "For the type of metal you're using, you need to increase the temperature by a hundred more degrees. When you're hammering the metal, you are a few centimetres out of place".
Jaune continued to tell them their mistake. At first, the young blacksmith who heard what Jaune was saying got angry. However, the more experience blacksmith took Jaune's advice and redid each step according to Jaune's instructions. Sure enough, it was a lot easier, and the metal's purity was much higher than the previous one they made.
"Ha-ha-ha! I've never been able to make such a high purity metal before!" One of the blacksmiths said. "Kid, how about signing up to be an apprentice at my shop? I promise that you would get the best treatment we can give you".
"No thanks,' Jaune said. "When it comes to blacksmithing, I have nothing else to learn. And I'm not exaggerating".
Jaune said nothing more, and he walked away. The old blacksmith looked at Jaune, and he sighed. He thought about what Jaune said and realised that if Jaune was to work with them, he would have a hard time working with Jaune, who has a high and mighty personality.
The old blacksmith is wrong, though. It wasn't because Jaune had a high and mighty attitude. It's just he wouldn't learn anything from them if they are making mistakes when doing a simple hammering out the impurities of the metal.
