AN: Aight… here me out… this prompt sucked ass cause it's the creator's choice DX after much debating… that's right, yah girl went with something so damn obscure that probably no one has ever written about it per se so drum roll please!

Du du du du du du du

Fanfic.

That's right! You read right. Fanfic. I choose my last prompt to be "fanfic"

LMAO and so from there… I choose to slap in a splash of college au too so here you go. This. I hope I did this last prompt justice and thank you all for sticking around until the end!

Mmoving on, a quick recap on "Korra as a fanfic writer" in this world. She's known in this fic as a famous author who does a lot of LGBTQ+ works for cartoons like Arcane, She-Ra, Voltron, etc… She's basically super famous like Rae D. Magdon, GreatestChange, YennaWang, and etc…

P.S. I havth indeed cameo my works again because I can't be whipping out someone else's fics LOL

What a small world.

Uploading the last chapter to her fanfic, Korra siped some of her coffee before clicking on her inbox. She sighed at the enormous amount she had to respond to but smiled nonetheless. There was something special and adoring when people go out of their way to comment on her fics. She loved when they did. Hitting the kudo button was something so simple and while she appreciated it, comments made her feel warm.

Especially when her readers posted thoughtful comments explaining what they liked about that particular chapter or even a quote they loved. It not only showed her, as the writer, how much it affected them as a reader but also made her laugh alongside them.

bludisposition on Operation Sweet Tooth

As cute as this was, I feel called out LMAO! This fully reminded me of high school summers when I spent too much time and money in Chinatown because rolled ice cream was trending and a guy I had a crush on may have worked there lol

Korra let out an amused laugh with a bright smile that covered most of her face. So she wasn't the only one? She typed back her response before reading the next comment.

RAWowner333 on Witch in the Tower

It's kinda sad you didn't like it but I'd definitely continue reading if this had more parts to it! I really enjoyed this fic. I really wonder why she wanted to know his name.

Her smile fell slightly into something bittersweet. She was somewhat bewildered but grateful that they liked her fic. Personally, she knew she could've done better developing it but doing a challenge comes with something called a time restriction.

ptzfrd on Within 300-Meters

Omfg I was reading this like "reminds me of this manhwa I'm following…is this a coincidence" BUT IT'S NOT HAHAHAHAHA

I don't know whether to laugh out loud or be horribly embarrassed but…yeah I know which one you are talking about

"Pfft—"

Covering her mouth, Korra suppressed her laugh. She didn't think that someone would actually recognize the manhwa she was doing a low-key crossover to. Ahh… the world was sure small. Now both of their tastes were exposed but hey, it was technically a secret between just the two of them.

Babycub on At the Tip of Your Fingers

Aye bruh what with Making me love these one shots

Korra laughed at that. Guilty as charged as always.

The rest of her pastime was as peaceful and relaxing as it could be. At least until her alarm finally went off, indicating that it was time to head to class. She sighed before quickly wrapping up her comment and sending it. After that, she quickly shut down her laptop before stuffing it in her bag and scarfing down the rest of her sandwich. She swung her bag over her shoulder before crumpling up the trash and grabbing her drink.

Once she tossed out her trash, she was out the door. She made her way across campus before trickling inside her classroom. She wasn't the first one there nor was she the last as per usual. She settled with a seat near the back before unloading her notebook and laptop. In due time, the professor came inside before getting the class' attention.

"Alright class, today we have a special guest. A world-renowned novelist that is an alumnus actually…" she led off with a proud smile before gesturing at the door. "Please welcome our esteemed guest, Asami Sato."

"What?!"

"No way!"

The moment Asami took a step inside their classroom, the whole class went wild.

"Oh my spirits!"

"It's Asami Sato!"

Some more squealing later, the class eventually settled down after much of the professor's quieting. She then gave Asami the spotlight with a simple nod. On the other hand, Asami had walked into the classroom with her head held high, full of confidence. Once she was at the center of the room, she flipped her hair to the side before speaking up.

"Hello everybody."

Most of the class got rowdy again and someone even shouted 'I love you' before Asami held her hand out to settle them down. She let out a warm chuckle before smiling beautifully.

"Thank you all for a warm welcome." She started slowly pacing back and forth. "Now then, who hear likes reading?"

The entire room pretty much raised their hands.

Asami let out a happy laugh again. "Good good, that would be an issue if you didn't since this is a literature class."

The classroom was filled with laughter.

"Now then… does anyone have any questions for me?"

Once again, the entire classroom practically raised their hands.

Smiling at that gesture, Asami expanded. "Questions that have to do with literature of course." About two-thirds of the class put their hands down. She then pointed to a student sitting at the front. "Yes?"

"What inspired you to write In Plain Sight? You usually stick to fantasy and thrillers."

Asami nodded in confirmation. "Yes that is correct but at the time, I wanted a change in pace from what I was writing. Rather than dwelling on being stuck, it's nice to challenge yourself and write something that is not within your comfort zone."

Another student raised their hand.

"Yes?"

Asami pointed at them and they squeaked their first word. "W-Whear…" they bit their tongue and blushed before trying again. "Where do you get your inspiration from?"

Thankfully for them, Asami ignored their cute mishap before answering. "Hmm, that's a hard one. There's honestly no correct answer to that question but the best way of answering that is exposure. Get out there in the world, immerse yourself in activities, friends, shenanigans, any sort of interaction can bear fruit to the most wonderful surprises."

They gave her a somewhat confused face which prompts her to expand.

"Consuming content like movies, cartoons, comics, and even reading other books can help spark your inner artist. Even going on hikes and exploring the wild is a breath of fresh air. There are no limits in the world of writing, it is just a matter of forming an idea and putting it down on paper."

Many questions like that came and after Asami answered the majority of them, she gave a mini-lecture on her experience as an active novelist. After that was done, she finally proposed a brain exercise. "Alright, here's a fun one for you all, for the rest of the class, I would like you all to write a short story of your choice. Once you are done, send it to your professor and I'll read them all and send back some feedback."

There was a mixed noise of excitement and panic.

Asami chuckled before waving her hand playfully. "Don't worry… I won't be a grammar nazi." She then clapped her hand together, "Now, you have about an hour to write. I'll be walking around if you'd some advice or anything so feel free to call me over."

True to her words, Asami did as she said while Korra on the other hand was spinning a pencil in her hand. She looked off to the side before tapping her fingers on the desk. She then balanced the pencil on her upper lip before mumbling to herself.

"An hour huh… free form writing… hah…"

She then sat up and booted up her laptop. After creating a document she tapped the table again before focusing on what to write about. She could write a completely vague story with original characters but given the time limit, she didn't want to bother creating something from entirely scratch. In that sense, fanfiction was perfect because the characters were already created.

She looked up to look at Asami.

Her imagination started running around before she decided. Falling back on a classic troupe, she chose flower shop au but with a twist. Since it was commonly paired with tattoo parlors, she decided to add that in as well but with a twist. She didn't like being basic after all. And so… she decided to roll with a florist covered heavily in tattoos.

And so… she began writing to this prompt with some characters that she was familiar with. Her fingers were flowing for some reason and by the end of it, she had about a two-thousand-word short story. Amidst her focused typing zone, she was vaguely aware that Asami had walked by her but turned away shortly after. She was thankful for that because if she had interrupted Korra, she would have most definitely lost her writing flow.

Asami Sato.

Frankly being honest, Korra vaguely knew about the woman but she wasn't much of her fan. In fact, most of the reading Korra did do was fanfiction so real-life novelists were a completely different category for her. One that she didn't really seek out thanks to her preferred pastimes which involved writing and playing sports. Literature was a fun elective class for her and she intended to keep it that way.

In no time, the professor and Asami had wrapped up their class and the students were dismissed. Of course, Asami stayed behind to chat with the students and the majority of them had stayed behind excluding the few who had class shortly after, including Korra. Korra went about the rest of her day as usual however what she didn't know was that for once in her life, one of her readers may have possibly figured out her identity.

*Late at night in Asami's home*

Letting out a soft chuckle, Asami smiled at one of the students' short stories. They had written an epic saga about cabbages and it was quite thrilling and amusing, to say the least. She shifted on her chair before pushing up her glasses. She then opened up the next file attachment before taking a sip of her tea. Humming to herself, she mumbled the title out loud.

"Potted Luck huh…"

By the end of the short story, Asami's eyes had widened.

"..."

She was speechless for various reasons and namely because she swore she has read this writing style before. But who…? It wasn't someone from her field of work before for obvious reasons. That leaves… Asami opened another tab before selecting her 'AO3' tab. She scrolled through her list of subscribed authors and one name stood out to her. To confirm her suspicions, she clicked on one of the author's one-shots before comparing notes. After a short yet detailed comparison, Asami couldn't believe her eyes.

"No way…"

She then laughed to herself with an amused tone.

"What a small world we live in."

She looked back at the file attachment before reading the student's name in a soft yet firm voice.

"Korra."
