"Duchess." Obi-Wan says, greeting Satine on his comm.

"Ben, you look well. I can finally see your handsome face." Satine says.

"I thought you'd like it." Obi-Wan says smiling, though the smile never reaches his eyes. "I have to say I'm sorry though, it was never my intention to hurt you or anyone. I didn't want to take the mission, the Chancellor forced it on us, and he apparently thought I was the best for the job. I truly am sorry, and I hope you will forgive me one day, I understand if you're angry with me." Obi-Wan states, his head bowed down in shame.

"Oh, Ben. I'm not mad, I was at first, but I knew you would never do that to your family, to me willingly. I won't forgive you because there is nothing to forgive. Don't say sorry for something you had no choice in, Ben." Satine calmly states, her voice soothing to Obi-Wans ears.

"Well, you'd be the first to say that, thank you, Satine. I'm sorry if I did worry you though." Obi-Wan says. Satine holds up her hands and stops him from speaking more.

"No more saying sorry, I don't want to hear that word out of your mouth again." Satine demands.

"Yes, Duchess." Obi-Wan says, bowing playfully. "Might I ask though why you decided to call me? Not that I'm not enjoying our conversation, I'm just curious."

"Can I not just say hello? But I did call for a reason, I'm meeting Senator Amidala, Senator Organa, and Chancellor Palpatine again, they want to persuade me to join the war, but you know I won't. I'll be arriving at Coruscant in a day, and I was wondering if you might want to come and visit me while I'm there." Satine curiously asks.

"Of course, I'd love to meet up with you, Satine. Maybe we could go to the gardens?" Obi-Wan asks.

"That sounds delightful, Ben. A date then?" Satine asks.

"A date then, Duchess." Obi-Wan says, smiling. His spirits lifted.

"I must go now, Ben. But I'll see you in a day's time. May the Force be with you Cyare." Satine says.

"And with you, Cyar'ika." Obi-Wan fondly responds, and his comm shuts off. He looks up at the setting sun and smiles.

"Padme, how nice to see you again." Satine said as she was heading into the Chancellor's office.

"Oh, Satine, nice to see you too! Sorry, you came all the way over here, I know you won't join the war." Padme says.

"It won't be a waste of a trip; I'm meeting someone later." Satine says, smirking.

"Ah, I see. I think that certain someone is behind you." Padme says and turns to go into the office. Satine turns around and sees Obi-Wan for the first time in a long time, not on comm.

"Master Kenobi, what are you doing here?" Satine asks curiously, trying to sound formal but can't help but feel happy at seeing him.

"Duchess, a pleasure to see you again." Obi-Wan takes her hand and kisses it, proceeding to bow, Satine fails at hiding a giggle. "The Chancellor wanted to talk to me. I wasn't informed why though." Obi-Wan says.

"A nice surprise anyway." Satine says, smiling.

"Yes, well, I believe we should head in now, Duchess. I have certain plans later." Obi-Wan says, smirking.

"I see." Satine says, grinning.

They walk through the door and move to sit at the table where everyone else is already sitting. Satine sits at the end and Obi-Wan sits across from her. Padme is sitting next to Bail, with Anakin sitting next to the Chancellor.

While the Chancellor is speaking about how important it is for the war to end, she sees Obi-Wan nervously shifting in his seat, to anyone it would look normal, but she knows all his nervous twitches, she looks and sees the cause for the twitches is Anakin, who is glaring at Obi-Wan. Even though Satine wasn't Force-sensitive, she could feel the anger rolling off Anakin, all towards his former Master.

"I'm sorry we could not persuade you to join our effort in protecting the galaxy, Duchess, in my opinion, your efforts would be much appreciated. But as we conclude this meeting, I would like to give my thanks to Master Kenobi here, who risked his life for mine. That's your job though and you have done it well. You have my gratitude, Master Jedi." Palpatine says, the way Master Jedi comes off his tongue though, it all sounds wrong coming from his mouth.

Satine looks over to Obi-Wan and sees him flinch at the subject, she looks over to Anakin who looks like he might blow a fuse any second now.

"As much as I would like to talk about you and your preciouswar, Chancellor, I believe I have a planet to run. One that is not at war, I might add." Satine says, and abruptly stands up. Anakin and the Chancellor look at her in shock, but Bail, Padme, and Obi-Wan are failing at hiding their smiles.

"Yes, I believe you are all excused now." The Chancellor says, and everyone moves to get up. Obi-Wan leaves with Anakin right behind on his tail.

"Why are you following me, Anakin." Obi-Wan says as he exits the room.

"You know why, Master." Anakin says, spitting the word Master out venomously. "What did I say about seeing you again?!"

"I make my own choices, Padawan. And the Chancellor asked to see me." Obi-Wan states.

"Don't "Padawan" me. I'm a Knight now, you're not my Master anymore." Anakin shouts.

"Didn't you just call me Master, and if you continue to act like a child then yes, you are a Padawan." Obi-Wan coolly states.

"I'm acting like a child! You're the one going around moping because all your friends don't want to talk to you! Sorry if we're a bit mad you faked your death!" Anakin yells.

"Anakin, I said I was sorry." Obi-Wan somberly states, but it goes unnoticed by Anakin.

"Sorry doesn't take the fact away that you don't trust us, your "friends". Friends tell each other things, especially big things." Anakin angrily states.

"I wanted to tell you, Anakin." Obi-Wan says but Anakin interrupts him.

"Then why didn't you?! Force! It would have been better if you stayed "dead"!" Anakin shouts. Obi-Wan flinches, hurt and shocked at the words coming out of Anakin's mouth.

"That is enough, Skywalker!" Satine says as she comes from the room. "I believe the Senator has been looking for you." She coldly states. Anakin rushes off, his anger pouring from his Force signature.

Satine rushes to Obi-Wan, who looks as if he might break, she grabs his hand and leads him outside.

"Are you alright, Cyare?" Satine says, as she takes his hands comfortingly.

"I don't know what to do with him, he hates me. I try to tell him what happened but I'm never able to get to that part before he just explodes." Obi-Wan says, his voice cracking.

"He doesn't hate you, he's just acting like Anakin right now, ignorant. Just give him time to cool down." Satine says, her voice as soft as a feather.

"But this whole thing, it's just wrong. Since when did the Jedi work under the Republic? The Jedi exist for peace, not war, we only wield our weapons in defense, not to go to battle. I just don't know how much more of this I can take before enough is enough, before I break." Obi-Wan says, his voice sounding so defeated it breaks Satine's heart.

"I have an idea then." Satine says, Obi-Wan looks at her curiously.

"You once told me, if I had asked, you would have left the Jedi Order for me, and that we could've been together. My biggest regret in my life is never asking you to be with me.

Watching you go off with Master Jinn was the hardest thing I have ever done, it pained me to see you go, that we couldn't spend nights just the two of us, talking or cuddling anymore.

So, I'm going to do what I should've done years ago. Ben Kenobi, my Cyare, I need you in my life, and I think you need me, so will you have me?" Satine asks, the words she speaks sounding so genuine and true.

"Satine, I.. There are people counting on me." Obi-Wan says, but Satine holds up her hands, interrupting him.

"No, Ben. I want you to choose, don't make this decision based on me or the Jedi, I want you to choose what you want, I want you to be selfish for once in your life, Ben." Satine says, scolding him yet her voice never raises, her tone still gentle and soothing.

Obi-Wan looks down at his hands entwined in hers and thinks. He looks up at Satine, his dashing blue and green eyes expressing happiness, yet years of sorrow linger in the back.

"I did tell you once, if you had asked, I would have left the Jedi for you. That was my biggest regret, Cyar'ika, not chasing after you and being with you.

The situation hasn't changed at all, every time I see you, I fall in love all over again, so yes, I'll go with you. I'll leave the Jedi and this war; I just want to be with you!" Obi-Wan says, smiling. Satine kisses him and the Force around them grows brighter.

The sun sets, the orange streak it leaves in the sky, the clouds pink. And the air refreshing, smelling of flowers and fresh grass. The lovers sit on the ground, not wanting to leave this peaceful moment before chaos is yet to come.
