Chapter 1: Morning Chaos

"Oh, Harry, I'm really looking forward to this vacation. The kids especially. It was a wonderful idea to take them to a resort before James starts Hogwarts," Ginny Weasley said as she and her husband, Harry Potter packed last-minute for the rest of the stuff they had forgotten to pack two nights before. You see, the Potter family decided they would go to Lockwood and Zahra Beach Resort, which was just somewhere in the beautiful village of Godric's Hollow. It was a newly built resort, Harry found, and why not take the kids to a little vacation before their eldest starts school?

"I wonder why Ron and Hermione aren't here yet. D'you think they remembered?" Harry asked Ginny anxiously.

"They ought to. I told Ron last week but realized it was a mistake. I should've waited to tell Hermione instead. Merlin knows how forgetful my brother is," Ginny replied, rolling her eyes. Harry simply laughed. Ron Weasley was indeed quite forgetful.

After packing the last of Harry's trousers, the two brought the trunks down the stairs and went to their children who were frantically packing all sorts of toys and books into their small backpacks. Harry and Ginny allowed them to bring one backpack aside from their luggage so they would be responsible for it.

"MUM, MR. WIGGLES CAN'T FIT IN MY BAG!" an anxious Lily Luna shouted.

"Oh, never mind that, Lily! My comic can't even make it through the zipper!" James Sirius also said as Ginny moved to help her daughter with her packing.

"James, do you really need more of those? You've already packed four different comics into your bag!" Harry said to his son.

"Dad, have you seen my water jug? I can't find it in the kitchen," Albus Severus said, coming out of the kitchen, scratching his head.

"DAD, I CAN'T LEAVE CHIEF GRIFFIN VS. THE GOBLIN BEHIND!" James screamed as Harry moved away a bit to cover one of his ears from the earsplitting scream while Ginny flinched at James' sudden scream.

"Alright, alright then. Calm down, will you? Here, just roll this one up—what was it you wanted, Al?" Harry asked to his second son, who seemed to be the only one not frantically packing or screaming his head out.

"My water jug, dad. Have you seen where it is? I can't go without it," he said calmly, completely unbothered by his two other siblings. Harry opened his mouth to answer, but Ginny was the one who replied.

"You left it in your bathroom last night, Al. You should go get it now and make it quick, we're about to leave." Albus quickly raced upstairs to his bedroom.

As Ginny had finished helping Lily pack and fit all her stuff, Harry still could not figure out how he was supposed to fit all four of James' comics and seven of his action figures into one small backpack. Just then, when Harry made the suggestion to leave one of his figures behind, James yelled once again into his father's face.

"I CAN'T LEAVE MY HARRY POTTER FIGURE BEHIND! IT'S MY FAVORITE DAD!" he screamed as Harry shut his eyes tight instead of moving away.

"James Sirius Potter, scream once more into your father's face and I will leave your entire bag behind," Ginny said in a dismissive tone that sounded so much like Molly Weasley that James shut his mouth, scowling at Albus who sniggered as he put his water bottle into the outer pocket of his bag.

"What d'you need a Harry Potter figure for when you have a life-sized one already?" the voice of Ron Weasley said as he and his wife, Hermione Granger Apparated into the Potter's living room, quite amused at Harry's attempts to help James.

"Hey, Ron, Hermione."

"Hey, Harry. It's nearly time for our check in," Hermione said.

"I—am—ouch—aware—of that—Hermione," Harry said as he desperately tried to get the head of his action figure inside James' bag.

"Here, I know what to do Uncle Harry. Let me," Rose Weasley piped up as she ran to help James pack. "Thanks, Rose," Harry gratefully said as he put his hands on his hips and took a deep breath while Ron was failing miserably to contain his laughter. Harry glared at Ron so intensely that his laughter ceased a bit but completely stopped when Hermione had smacked him on the head.

Harry almost laughed but disguised it as a cough quickly.

"All done! Now can we go?" Rose asked as Harry raised his eyebrows in surprise to see that James bag was successfully closed.

"Yeah, aunt Hermione says we're late already," Lily added.

"We aren't late we're just due. She only said it's almost the check in time. So we're not late, Lils," Albus smartly said to his sister.

"Al's right, we better go or we'll lose our reservation," Ginny said.

"Okay, everyone hang on to your bags and trunks. And to this book, I suppose, we don't want to leave anyone behind," Harry said as they all got into position and held tightly to their trunks and to the large book Portkey that was sent to them upon their reservation.

"Alright, we're going in 1…2…3!"

And in an instant, the entire Potter and Weasley clan left the living room.
