I do not own Vampire Diaries
AU: I have said warning for abuse before so I just want to say that in my story I might just randomly say something about it so if this triggers anything I strongly suggest you not carry on. Thank you.
The journey had started off awkwardly but it had mellowed out later on when Liana said, "Grampa can you put a song on pwease?"
Anastasia noticed that her dad looked as if he was about to protest but when he looked through the car mirror at her daughter he sighed and relented as he asked, "Which one Lilliana?"
"Let it go fwom fwozen please." Lilliana said excitedly and Anastasia smiled at her baby's excitement. The last time they had heard the song had been a long time ago as James wouldn't allow songs in the house.
Her dad put the song on the radio and before long both her and Lilliana were singing along. Anastasia has always loved singing. It had been her favourite thing to do to pass the time alongside art, writing her own songs, paying different instruments and of course, baking. It had always brought a smile on her face and this time wasn't any different. This was the most happiest she had been in 5 years so she couldn't get rid of the wide smile on her face even if she tried. Once the song had finished Lilliana looked at her and said, "Mommy you have a pwetty voice."
"Thank you baby." Anastasia said to her little angel, she wanted to start singing again like she used to do. She had sang many small performances in bars with one of her best friends before he had left to do God knows what and before she met James and she wanted to start again. She may be a little rusty now but she had sang a few lullabies to Liana when she was younger when James was out doing whatever, so it might be easier for her to improve faster and sing like she used to. Many times people had commented on her singing and they had said that she had the voice of an angel, she missed those comments despite how embarrassed they made her feel but it was a far cry better than the unsavoury comments from James she had no choice but to endure.
Before long, they had passed the sign of Mystic Falls and arrived at the house her dad had brought as the car moved through the gate and parked in the garage. When she was young, she had never struggled for money at all because her dad was a rich man so it had been hard to get accustomed to the lifestyle James hard forced her into but now it was going to be hard to go back to the life she used to live, where she could have whatever she wanted without fear of consequences. The last time she had bought clothes without James permission had been for her daughter, the dress had been so pretty and she wanted her baby to wear it for her birthday that was coming but he had taken it and threw it in the fireplace before beating her so badly the bruises had lasted twice as long. That was the first time he had actually hurt her where it was visible, she'd had a black eye, a busted lip and her arms had bruises all over them. He had refused to let her leave the house until it healed, so she called in sick for her daughter and herself refusing to let him take her daughter to nursery for fear of him hurting her. She was brought out of her thoughts when she heard the car door open as her dad got out, opening her door on the way to the boot of the car to get the suitcases.
Anastasia leaned over to undo the safety belts around her child in the car seat she was sitting in, as she winced in pain at the slight pull of her stitches. Her baby thankfully didn't notice too busy looking at the beautiful house in awe before she jumped out of the car to help her grandpa with the stuff.
Her dad was a businessman and he had a lot of money saved up over the years. If she knew one thing about her dad, it was that he knew everything about finance on the tips of his fingers, so she wasn't surprised at the size of the house but her baby hadn't seen anything like this before since James hadn't allowed her to meet her Grandpa and therefore his house. The only times they met was when she called to ask how he was and Lilliana had been curious about who she was talking to so she had face-timed him once and given the phone to Liana so they could talk for a little while before James had come home. She had hurriedly deleted the fact that she had called him but he had found out apparently and he hadn't been happy at all, she had the scars to prove it. He had thought that she told her dad something and hadn't believed her when she said she hadn't so he had been beyond angry that night and he had showed it, no matter how much she had begged him to stop because it had hurt so much, she hadn't been ready at all. She had tried her best to keep the screams in as he used her because her baby had been asleep next door but thankfully Liana hadn't woken up.
"...astasia! Ana!" Her dad shouted at her before she felt herself come back to reality and was confused at the fact that her breathing was faster than normal and her dad was shaking her slightly.
"Dad, what..." Anastasia trailed off confused before her eyes widened in realisation, another panic attack it seemed. She's had them for a while and they hadn't lessened down at all, in fact, they had not only increased but her nightmares had increased as well. She remembered the first time she had a nightmare and screamed as she woke up but her nightmare wasn't what frightened her, it was the fact that she had woken James up to and her daughter had just run in the room obviously having heard her scream. She had to protect her daughter first so she got his attention solely focused on her giving Liana ample time to run to her room before he did anything. The worst times were when Liana refused to leave in her fear for her and then she had to anger him even more by using the smart mouth she had been known for and that had resulted in an even worse beating. Liana had quickly learnt to leave when she was told as she knew that staying would only make it worse for her. She swallowed roughly before she looked at the tears in her daughter's eyes and the slight concern on her father's as she said, "It's fine. I'm fine. I'm okay."
"If you're sure." Her father nodded curtly at her before he grabbed as many suitcases and bags as he could before making his way inside the beautiful house.

"Mommy are you ok?" Her little angel asked her worriedly, she knew that her baby had seen her have these panic attacks before, no matter how much she wished she didn't have to see her like that. Her baby had been so little the first time and had been scared out of her mind before she managed to calm down and console her angel. She did the same now as she did then, hugging her daughter to her after she got out the car though she winced at the pain from bending down slightly. She pulled away and kissed her little angel's forehead softly before smiling down at her as she held her little hand in her own. They walked to the back of the car and she gave Liana a few light things she could carry before taking the last two suitcases by herself and making her way inside the house after closing the boot. Her dad would come lock the car later though it wouldn't matter if he didn't since no one could get through the gate without the key card her father owned but the door at the front for walking in was only locked with a key. Her father had given her one before they had left so that she could come and go whenever she pleased and when he had given her her very own credit card, she'd had tears in her eyes as she hugged him impulsively, she hadn't had money in her hands for most of the 5 years of her relationshit, oh, whoops, she meant relationship. Her dad didn't return the hug but he had nodded at her slightly with the smallest of smiles on his face before it went back to its usual impassive mask as he turned to go in the car.
When they had all their stuff inside the house her dad told them both to pick any rooms they wanted before he made his way into an office like room. Both mother and daughter looked at each with growing smiles on their faces before they dropped everything and began searching every room until they found the perfect one. They didn't want to sleep separately after everything they've been through so they chose a big room for the both of them and it had such a beautiful view.

They both went back to the lobby area and picked up their stuff before making their way back to the room as they began unpacking everything they had. Anastasia gathered her clothes before opening what she thought was a cupboard before she gasped in shock when instead it was a walk-in wardrobe, every girl's dream.

Her little girl came beside her to see what she was looking so shocked at before her eyes became the size of saucers as she took in the huge room. Both of them quickly got all their clothes and shoes before putting them in the designated areas. Anastasia helped Liana with the places she couldn't reach and after around 15 minutes they were finally done though Anastasia had to take a break as she felt her stitches begin throbbing slightly. She probably shouldn't have stretched as much as she did but she couldn't get to some of the places without doing so. Despite her fatigue she managed to finish the rest of the room with a little help from Liana and it looked wonderful, her little angel thought so too for she began jumping up and down on the bed in excitement, something James had prohibited from doing. She watched though as her little baby suddenly stopped and stiffened, her eyes wide with fear and she knew exactly what she was thinking so she hurried in front of her baby's slightly shaking form and said, "Hey baby we're not there anymore. You don't have to be afraid. He'll never hurt you again."
"But what about you mommy?" Her little angel asked with tears in her eyes.
"Or me. He'll never hurt us again." Anastasia said firmly, she had powers now and she would do whatever it takes to keep her family safe, especially her daughter.
"Pwomise?" Liana asked her looking for any sign of reassurance from her mother that they will never see him again.
"I promise baby. You're safe. We're both safe." Anastasia said as she hugged her careful of the stitches on her stomach.
What they both hadn't realised was that her dad had heard the whole thing from the door and he sighed as he for a moment mourned the innocence she had lost because of that man. He had wanted to tell her what one of his secretaries had just informed him but after what he just heard, he knew that now was not the time. However he knew that he had to tell her soon that James Axel Whitlock has escaped from his prison cell with no trace whatsoever.
