I do not own Vampire Diaries
When they arrived at Mystic Grill, Anastasia was starting to feel a little dizzy, the blood stain had only grown larger and she had to pull the entire leather jacket around her in an effort to cover it from her daughter, who was skipping beside her humming a tune with a bright smile on her face. When Elena had offered to look after Lilliana whilst she was in the bathroom she immediately refused, she trusted no one with her daughter besides herself, and funnily enough, her dad. Despite his shortcomings, she knew that the last thing he'd do was hurt his grand-daughter. Though she did look at her thankfully for offering, before asking the brunette where the bathroom was and when she pointed in the direction, she took a hold of Lilliana's hand and made her way there, trying to ignore the worried stares on her form from the two.
As she entered the bathroom, she got her and her little angel into one cubicle before she used her magic to make sure no one could hear them, but after she heard her baby gasp she realised she had forgotten to cover her eyes. She saw her baby's wide eyes stare into her fading golden ones and internally groaned, how the hell was she going to explain the existence of the supernatural to a 4 year old. This was going to be so much fun. Before she did that though she needed to take care of her stitches but she didn't want her baby to see as it would only frighten her so instead she had to make it seem as if she was going to use the toilet but as she was about to say something her little jewel cut her off.
"Mommy why you eyes gold?" Lilliana asked with amazement coating her voice as she looked up at her mommy with her wide doe eyes.
Anastasia sighed as she realised that she had to explain everything now, well not everything, just enough for her daughter to understand so she did. She contemplated the idea of telling her that she always had magic, but then she'd question why she hadn't used it against James, so she realised that she had to tell her truth or she'd have to come up with a story every time Liana sees her practicing the other powers Death had granted her. She explained how one day she was sleeping, it was a better way than informing her that she had died, and met Death and he had gifted her a few things and one of them was magic. She had to explain it in a way that would make Liana understand so she cut a few things off and summed it up very briefly. She wouldn't have told her daughter if she wasn't completely sure that she wouldn't tell anyone, Liana was used to hiding things because of James's treatment of her so she knew she wouldn't tell anyone about this like she hadn't told anyone about what James was really like.
After she finished explaining everything and her daughter calmed down from her excited rambling as she asked question after question, which she answered patiently, she told her daughter to turn away, not wanting her to see the wound, she didn't want to remove the beautiful smile from her little angel's face. Once Liana turned away continuing her constant chatter, she conjured up a mirror in front of her abdomen before taking off her jacket and tank top. She winced as she noticed the blood covering the bandages, there was more red than white, thank God Liana wasn't looking, she didn't want her to see that.
She then removed the bandages and made them disappear with a wave of her hand before looking at the wound closely to see what the problem was. She realised that a few of the stitches had ripped and the blood was dripping continuously so, quickly, in order to save her leather trousers, she cleaned the blood with a wave of her hand. Getting a few supplies from her purse, she put on a clean pair of gloves before she took a deep breath and started to remove the stitches that had ripped, trying her best to make no noise whatsoever, she didn't want her daughter to hear after all. It didn't hurt much since adding on to the fact she was stronger as a vampire, she was also used to pain after all but it still stung and she very nearly hissed as she pulled the last stitch out. She continued disappearing the blood throughout the entire procedure as it continuously flowed from the stitches. She was starting to feel very dizzy as black spots entered her vision slightly, she knew it was form the loss of blood but it didn't panic her because this had happened numerous times living with James.
She remembered she had once been in so much pain when he had broken her collarbone and left arm by throwing her down the stairs, but she had had no choice but to push the pain away as she made dinner for him, not wanting him to get his anger out on Liana who was sleeping in her room. He didn't let her get treated telling her that she was a doctor so she could do it herself which she had no choice but to do. She had stolen some supplies from the hospital previously the last time she had got hurt because of him and she was beyond thankful when she found the little she had remaining. She used them to treat her wounds before calling in sick at the hospital and they had thankfully let her off for a while. She swore with the number of times she's made excuses to them, she would have been out of her job a long time ago if she wasn't the best at what she does, and that wasn't bragging, it was just fact.
As she was thinking about this, she had finally finished doing the stitches over her abdomen, though she was breathing more heavily than normal because of the pain but thankfully the blood had stopped flowing. She cleaned the area with the antiseptic wipes and wrapped clean bandages perfectly around her stomach. She contemplated cleaning the shirt and putting it back on but then Stefan and Elena would question where the blood had gone so instead she changed the colour to a dark blue to make it seem like she had changed the shirt instead. She pulled it on carefully making an effort to not pull the stitches, though she did wince slightly when she had to stretch her arms to pull her jacket on. When she was done, she was about to call Liana, who was shockingly still chattering on, God how does she not run out of words to say but she then remembered that she had told her that she needed to use the toilet so she flushed it to get her attention.
They both came out of the cubicle and thankfully there was no one there so she quickly went to wash her hands before coming out the bathroom holding her little angel's hand. She didn't know what to do now, her dad had given her an entire credit card filled with god knows how much money so she didn't know where to start. She then remembered that she had promised Liana ice cream after food of course so they might as well stay here to eat.
"Hey! Anastasia! Come over here!" She was interrupted out of her thoughts by the brunette girl she remembered was called Elena as she shouted at them from across the restaurant to their table. She was hesitant at first but she made her way there with her little jewel standing closer to her, in an effort to hide from the numerous stares on them. She noticed there were two other girls with Stefan and Elena, one of them was a beautiful blonde who looked like a real-life barbie doll and the other was a darker skinned gorgeous girl with large olive green eyes.
Elena had seen the beautiful girl from before come out of the bathroom holding her daughter's hand and had called them over to their table. When the girl had left to go to the bathroom, she had seemed so pale, it was clearly from the wound but now she looked much better, she was wearing a different shirt too and thankfully there was no blood staining it so that meant that she was okay. She was still concerned over what had happened to her but it was clear from the girl's words and actions that she wasn't going to tell them anything but maybe Caroline may be able to question her instead of Stefan and get her to tell something so she could understand a little of what had happened to her.
Stefan, after hearing Elena call out, turned towards the girl, Anastasia and realised that he couldn't smell the blood anymore. It seems she had changed her shirt which he was thankful for, it had taken everything he had to control himself before and he didn't think he'd be able to now if he smelt anymore blood. Though he was still concerned for her, he wanted nothing else but to find the man who had hurt them both and make sure he could never go anywhere near them again. He stopped his train of thought when they came towards the table, Anastasia pulling up a chair next to him before pulling Lilliana on top of her lap, careful of her stitches as she cuddled closer to her mother clearly shy with people she doesn't know.
"Oh my Gosh! She's adorable! Is she yours?" Caroline asked as soon as the two sat down, she was confused at who Elena was calling to but when she looked in the direction Elena was looking at she saw a girl, who whilst being skinny, was still absolutely beautiful and what made her nearly squeal was the absolutely adorable child she was holding the hand of. She could see a few similarities between them, but they were very few, so she didn't know if they were mother and daughter so as soon as she sat down, she immediately asked not being able to contain her curiosity.
"Yes she's mine." Anastasia said a little taken aback at the sudden question before she felt her clothes being clenched in Liana's hand and knew that she was feeling shy at the attention on her and she couldn't help but gaze down at her little angel fondly.
"What's your names?" Caroline then asked inquisitively.
"My full name is Anastasia Grace Williams and this little angel's is Lilliana Rose Williams." Anastasia answered the curious blonde.
"Those are beautiful names." Bonnie commented with a gentle smile at the girl before her, for some reason she felt a foreign feeling burst inside her the closer the girl had come to them, it was quite a welcoming feeling but she didn't really know what it was so she just ignored it for now.
"Thank you." Anastasia smiled at the girl, she felt something within her tell her that there was something different about her, there was a sort of energy coming from her that made her feel safe and after everything's she been through, she felt a warmth burst inside her at the foreign feeling. She then looked down at her shy daughter as she said, "Now what do you say Liana?"
Lilliana lifted her head from her mother's chest and shyly looked at the kind looking girl in front of her as she said, "Thank you."
"Aww! She's just too cute." Caroline squealed as she looked at the adorable little girl.
"She is, aren't you my little angel?" Anastasia said tickling her daughter's stomach as she began giggling, though her wiggling caused her stitches to twinge so she stopped tickling her but the smile remained on her face as she looked at her little angel adoringly.
"OK scratch that. You both are too cute." Caroline said as she watched them together, the way the girl, Anastasia, looked down so lovingly at her daughter and the bright smile on the child, Lilliana's, face.
"Thank you uh…sorry, I didn't ask, what are your names?" Anastasia said a bit sheepishly, she had completely forgotten that she didn't know their names.
"I'm Caroline Forbes." Caroline said as she smiled at her.
"Bonnie Bennet." Bonnie nodded at her smiling gently at the mother daughter duo, Caroline, for once, was right they were cute together.
"You've already met me, I'm Elena Gilbert." Elena said as she smiled at Anastasia.
"And I'm Stefan Salvatore, though you already know that." Stefan said a little awkwardly though Anastasia just smiled at him a little amused.
"Yes I did, but thank you for refreshing my memory." Anastasia said teasingly before they all began talking about whatnot. She was surprised about how well she got along with all of them, they had only just met and yet she clicked with them more than she did with any of her friends in her past life.
Caroline then said, "So, Stefan, if you're new, then you don't know about the party tomorrow." She really wanted him to notice her, for once there might be a boy who looks at her before Elena, it was something she always wanted because she didn't want to be second choice anymore. Now after meeting Anastasia, she wanted that even more, she was so beautiful, even more than Elena if she was being honest, and now all the boys would notice her first, even with the child she had, she was still irresistible. She noticed the eyes of many on the girl when she had walked towards their table and the entire time they talked, so she had to admit that she was jealous despite the fact that she actually liked the girl. For some unexplainable reason, she got along with her more than her own best friends, who she's known since they were in diapers. It was just so easy to talk to her, she was a very easy going girl, she'd even let her hold Lilliana, or as she started calling her, Lilly, and she was so adorable as she played with her hair. For once she didn't care that her hair was getting messed up a little because how could she get annoyed when she was staring into her cute face.
She was pulled out of her thoughts when Bonnie said, "It's a back to school thing at the falls." Caroline's shoulders slumped as she saw that Stefan turned to Elena first as he asked, "Are you going?"
Bonnie noticed the same thing, and in an effort to get her friend hooked up, she said, "Of course she is." She knew that after what happened with her parents, Elena needed a distraction from life and maybe Stefan would provide that for her and maybe become more.
"What about you Ana?" Stefan asked her curiously, he had started calling her Ana a few minutes into their conversation after asking her if it was ok of course and she had said it was fine so it stuck. He didn't notice Elena looking at him in confusion and a little annoyance, why was he asking her, he didn't like her did he?
"Oh I can't, I mean I'm not exactly high school age." Anastasia said confused before she realised that she didn't tell them her age.
"You're not? But you look it." Caroline said confused, she had thought that she was most likely a teen mom and that she was going to enroll in their school.
"No I'm 24 years old." Anastasia replied a little uncomfortably from their shocked stares.
"Really! Oh wow. You look like a teenager." Bonnie said a little bluntly.
"Uh Thanks." Anastasia said before Liana began pulling her shirt to get her attention so she looked down at her as she asked, "What is it baby?"
"I finished my food, can I have ice cweam now? Pwease mommy." Lilliana said pleadingly.
Anastasia checked her plate to see the food she had brought her was gone before she looked up at Care, as she started to call her, "Uh Care would this place have ice cream?"
"No but they do have chocolate cake." Caroline said as she saw the upset look on the girl's face lighten up at the thought of cake.
"Yay! There's cake. Can I have cake mommy?" Lilliana turned to her mother with puppy dog eyes.
"Of course you can Liana." Anastasia answered before she got up to the counter and asked for a slice of chocolate cake for her little angel. She had left Liana at the table with Caroline who she trusted most out of all of the, Stefan a close second but still she kept on turning around to keep her eye on her just in case. As the slice of cake was set in front of her on a plate, she paid the money necessary using the card her dad had given her before taking the plate to their table where she set it down in front of her daughter who looked absolutely delighted.
"Thank you mommy." Liana said after she had finished the cake and her mother had wiped her mouth with a napkin.
"You're welcome baby." Anastasia said before she looked at her watch and realised they had spent more than a few hours here so after exchanging phone numbers with the others and bidding them all goodbye, she walked back home with her daughter, hand in hand.
