I do not own Vampire Diaries

Stefan entered the place where the party was going on, leaving Ana to call her father, as he listened for Elena.

"Just admit it, Elena." Bonnie insisted at her friend to just tell the truth about Stefan, it was obvious to anyone with eyes that Elena liked him.

"Oh, okay, so he's a little pretty." Elena finally said after the non-stop pestering of her best friend.

"He has that romance novel stare." Bonnie said dramatically as they both carried on walking around talking to each other about whatnot.

[Outside the party]

Anastasia had finished the call to her father, who, despite not being too happy with her for staying out late, had agreed to look after Liana. She was going to make her way inside the party when a sudden feeling came over her as if she was being watched. The feeling increased as the hair on the nape of her neck stood ramrod straight and a strange feeling went down her spine. She put her phone away as she turned around only to come face to face with the most handsome man she's ever met but the shock had her stumbling backwards. He grabbed her arms to steady her but all it did was cause her to flinch away from him, her breathing getting erratic as she grabbed the fence behind her to keep her steady.

"Don't touch me." Anastasia managed to choke out when he tried to step closer to her, images flashed in her mind continuously, the memories felt physically choking as she breathed more erratically, her body trembling as she squeezed her eyes shut against the flashbacks. Her heavy breathing was pulling her stitches and she winced as she clutched her abdomen, the pain bringing her back to reality as she straightened herself and let go of the fence but her shaky legs couldn't hold her up so they gave way beneath her though the man she hadn't realised was still there caught her and for the second time she flinched away from his arms though he held on tighter. The feeling of restriction had her hackles raised again and she said, "Please let me go." She hated the break in her voice displaying the vulnerability to someone she didn't even know but thankfully he let go of her.

"Are you alright?" He asked her as he took a step backwards. He had been looking for a snack and had come across one of the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. He had seen her come with his brother so that meant they were somewhat close, feeding from her would definitely piss him off. He was used to girls shocked faces when they stared at him so when she had jumped back in shock, he wasn't surprised as he tried to steady her but he didn't expect her to flinch away from him and everything that followed. She seemed like she was having a minor panic attack and he didn't know what to do, he thought about leaving her there and going to feed but he wanted this specific girl so instead he tried to come forward to calm her down somehow, so that he could get his lunch without that much noise reaching his brother's ears. But she had then pleaded with him not to touch her and he was getting increasingly frustrated, he wanted to feed but the girl in front of him was having a panic attack, she was literally trembling, normally they start this process after he showed them his vampire face but she was doing it now, it was weird.

Then she held her arm over her stomach as she winced in pain, but he hadn't done anything so he sniffed the air to see if she was wounded and he caught a very faint scent of blood coming from her abdomen, what happened to her? It wasn't that fresh but it didn't smell very old either, he didn't know what it was but he wanted to know. But just as he thought that, he saw her let go of the fence and a second later she fell forwards but he managed to catch her, apparently her legs couldn't hold her up anymore. But just as she flinched away from him again, he grabbed on to her this time and a fearful expression encompassed her face but he knew it wasn't because of him as her eyes weren't even looking at him, they seemed somewhere far away. So in order to not let her have another freak out, he let her go and asked if she was alright, not really caring but he was getting hungry but there was a strange feeling inside him that warned him not to but he tried to ignore it.

"I'm fine." Anastasia answered him as she held her dizzy head, blinking her eyes to clear the fog in it, a few seconds later she managed to compose herself and look at the guy as he stood there probably confused and thinking she was insane. She sighed as she said, "I'm sorry. I haven't had an episode in front of a stranger before and this is so embarrassing."

"Episode?" He questioned her intrigued, from her voice it seems these were fairly common.

"Yeah sorry. You probably don't care, in fact you're probably thinking i'm a crazy person, which I'm not. I am perfectly normal, more or less. You know to be honest I actually hate the word, normal, I've never met a normal person in my life. And I'm rambling aren't I? I'll just shut up now." Anastasia said as she covered her face with her hands before running them through her hair annoyed.

Damon just chuckled at the girl, there was something different with the way she was talking so casually with him that made her a little different. Whoever he had made a meal of had either been lusting after him, running away from him, scared of him, screaming her lungs out or dead, so this was a new one.

"It's fine." Damon said as he walked closer to her now that she seemed to have calmed down.

"No I probably owe you an explanation after what you just saw." Anastasia said, she obviously wasn't going to tell him anything of importance but he did just see her have a form of a panic attack and he should probably know that it wasn't his fault.

"I wouldn't mind one." Damon said not missing the chance to get to know something about her, he was too intrigued not to, he'll feed after this.

"Well you see I didn't have the best boyfriend and all you have to know is that it didn't end well so men are a little bit of a problem for me sometimes." Anastasia summarised the gist of it, she wasn't one to share things with others, she didn't even share a thing with Stefan and she had spent more time with him than the guy before her, but there was something about him that made her feel a little, well, safe, it was weird because his looks, style and basically everything about him screamed bad boy. She wasn't one to judge someone by their looks though, she knew better than to do that after James, so handsome looks didn't appeal to her because behind his there had been a monster. She would only judge someone based on their actions not their looks, so right now she was weary of the guy before her since she was alone with him, but she didn't get the feeling to run away in fear.

"I see. Is that all I'm gonna get?" Damon asked though he could tell from what she said that her ex had been the reason she had flinched away from him and why she was so adamant about him not touching her. He felt something strange at that thought but he didn't know what it was so he just pushed it down because he honestly couldn't care less.

"Yep. Stranger danger remember." Anastasia said before she said that she had to go, and turned to enter the party.

"I'm Damon. See I'm not a stranger anymore." Damon said as he watched her walk away, her clothes hugged her petite figure which he also noticed was more on the skinny side, was that because of her ex as well, it didn't make her any less pretty though. He shook his head, he didn't care enough to ask, yes, he wanted her but he controlled himself, for what reason he didn't know but there was something telling him that attacking her would be a very bad idea.

"Nice try. I'm Anastasia." She replied to his ridiculous comment turning to look at him over her shoulder, both their blue eyes clashing with each other, before she made her way into the party looking for a familiar face, trying to get rid of the one that seemed to be imprinted in her mind.

"And it begins." Death said with a smirk on his face, everything was going according to plan, and hopefully his sister won't mess it up for the two, though he was more worried about Fate and Destiny. Fate was more ruthless than Destiny and unfortunately he had more say in what would happen than his sister, unlike him and Life, where she called most of the shots. It was really irritating to be the youngest out of all of them, they always loved taking the mick out of him.

A while before...

Caroline walks up to Stefan as soon as she noticed him, this was finally her chance, "Hey! You made it!"

"I did." Stefan said a little distracted with looking for Elena but Caroline was persistent.

"Well, let's get you a drink." Caroline tried to get his attention back on her.

"Well, I'm..." He was about to continue when he felt her grab on his arm as she insisted with him to come with her.

"Oh, come on." Caroline said as she took him to where the drinks were available but just as she turned back after getting two for the both of them, he had disappeared, and her shoulders slumped as she drunk both of them, though it wasn't enough for her to forget so she picked up another and another and another...

Bonnie and Elena were somewhere else in the party, and had been talking non-stop about random things before Bonnie asked the question Elena desperately wanted to know.

"So where is he?"

"I don't know. You tell me, you're the psychic one." Elena said teasingly just as Anastasia walked up to them.

"Psychic?" Anastasia asked confused.

"Anastasia! You came!" Elena said smiling at her though she was confused, Bonnie was happy to see her though as they both hugged, they had gotten closer too in the hours they had spent talking in the grill yesterday, there was just something that made them feel safe with each other.

"Yeah. Your future boyfriend is quite good at persuasion." Anastasia said teasingly at Elena as she blushed.

"H-He's not.." Elena stuttered slightly but Anastasia cut her off.

"Yes he is. Even a blind person could see the way you two are pining after each other." Anastasia said before both her and Bonnie started laughing at Elena's red face. Anastasia took pity on her and changed the subject, "So what's this about being psychic?"

"Right, I forgot. Okay, so give me a sec. Grams says I have to concentrate." Bonnie said as she took a deep breath and closes her eyes.

"Wait if you're going to be truly psychic we're gonna need a crystal ball, and they also normally wear the most ridiculous clothes but we could settle with a bandanna." Anastasia said as she pulled the black strings tied at her neck and fastened it around Bonnie's head, making sure she didn't mind first obviously. After looking proudly at her handiwork she said, "Perfect, now with this crystal ball, you may do the honours mademoiselle." Anastasia said in a perfect french accent as she gave her a bottle she picked up from the floor. She knew quite a few languages, after her brother's death, she had been mostly alone at home, and this is probably going to sound nerdy, but the library was her favourite place and she learnt a lot of things reading book after book.

Bonnie takes it from her but her hand made contact with Anastasia's and she gasped, her face looks almost pained as she spaced out before she abruptly pulls her hand back, having come back to her senses. She looks up at Anastasia with teary eyes.

"What happened to you?" Bonnie asks with emotion in her voice, what she had seen was horrific, it wasn't clear to her, but as soon as she touched her, she heard screaming, there was blood, a lot of blood, a knife dripping with it and then there was the sounds of monitors beeping before she saw someone flatlining, a defibrillator being used and then she came back to the present and looked up at Anastasia and something told her that the someone was her.

"Bonnie what happened?" Elena asked grabbing a hold of her hand trying to shake her out of whatever she had just seen, but it only made Bonnie space out again as she took a step backwards from the both of them looking unsettled.

"What?" Elena asked confused, Anastasia seemed to be in the same place as her as they both wondered what the hell was going on.

"That was weird. When I touched you, I saw a crow." Bonnie said but she couldn't make herself say what she had seen after touching Anastasia.

"What?" Elena asked now a little creeped out, she remembered the crow she had seen in the graveyard, how had Bonnie seen that.

"A crow. There was fog, a man. I'm drunk. It's the drinking. There's nothing psychic about it. Yeah? Ok, I'm gonna get a refill." Bonnie said a little shakily as she walked away from them.

"Wait Bon Bon. Are you sure you're okay?" Anastasia asked her concerned, she didn't know what had just happened but the way Bonnie had looked at her, it just made her think that she had seen something, like she had seen something of Elena's because she could tell from Elena's face that what Bonnie said had been somewhat accurate, otherwise she wouldn't have been so freaked out.

"Yeah. I just need a minute." Bonnie said before she took off the strings from her head and gave it back to Anastasia making sure she didn't touch her hand, she did not want another weird vision nor she didn't want to think about what she just saw so she just went to get herself another drink.

"Bonnie." Elena called out but she had already walked away, she sighed as she looked at Anastasia who looked a little bit perturbed as she stared after Bonnie, she could understand though after what just happened.

She turns around when she saw Anastasia looking behind her with a smile on her face, and nearly jumps when she sees Stefan right in front of her.

"Hi." Stefan says as he smiled down at her before he noticed Ana behind her and he smiled at her as he said, "Hey Ana," which she replied with, "Hey Steffie," causing him to roll his eyes at the nickname.

"Hi." Elena said wanting his attention back on her, why was he looking at Anastasia like that, she could see some sort of fondness in his eyes and she just wished that Anastasia would go away now so that he could look at her like that instead. She felt like a nervous wreck whenever she was with him, she had the entire package, sweaty palms, the butterflies and her heart beating a little faster whenever he was near.

"I did it again, didn't it?" Stefan asked realising he had probably scared her from her increase in heartbeat.

"Yeah." Elena said after she realised what he was talking about.

"I'm sorry. You're upset about something." Stefan noted though he was more concerned about Ana, he noticed she had a very anxious expression on her face when he had come but it was now replaced by a smile.

"Oh, uh, no, it's- it's just Bonnie. She's...You know what? Never mind. You're...here." Elena was a stuttering mess but she couldn't stop smiling at him.

"I'm here." Stefan agreed, he thought her stuttering was cute, and they stared into each other's eyes for a few seconds before the clearing of a throat broke them out of it.

"Don't mind me, I'm just gonna go and leave you two love birds alone. This is too adorably disturbing for me." Anastasia said as she smiled at them both before turning around to walk away, not before saying, "Keep it PG guys. There's innocent children here."

"Ana!"

"Anastasia!"

She just walked away laughing at their scandalised exclamations.

[At the Bridge near the party.]

"You know, you're kind of the talk of the town." Elena said as they walked along the bridge side by side.

"Am I?" Stefan asked, though he knew why, he was new after all and Mystic Falls didn't normally have visitors.

"Mmm hmm. You and Anastasia. Mysterious new people, oh, yeah." Elena said trying to make conversation.

"Well, you have the mysterious thing going, too. Twinged in sadness." Stefan said in an effort to get her to open up so that he could get to know her.

"What makes you think that I'm sad?" Elena asked though she knew she was, like Anastasia said the pain never ends.

"Well, we did meet in a graveyard." Stefan said trying to lighten the mood.

"Right. Well, no, technically we met in the men's room. You don't want to know, it's...it's not exactly party chit-chat." Elena said not wanting to speak about what happened.

"Well, I've never really been very good at, uh, chit-chat." Stefan said to show her that he didn't mind.

"Last spring, my parents' car drove off of a bridge into the lake. And I was in the backseat and I survived, but...they didn't. So that's my story." Elena said trying to not let her emotions show on her face but it was obvious to Stefan how much it affected her.

"You won't be sad forever, Elena." Stefan said, it seemed like a promise but to her it was just false hope but she didn't let that ruin her time with him so she changed the subject and they talked about high school stuff for a while as they walked along the bridge.

[Woods by the party.]

"No, Ty. I'm not having sex against a tree." Vicky said disgusted as she tried pushing him off.

"Oh, come on, it would be hot." Tyler said drunkenly as he went back to doing exactly what she told him not to do.

"For who? No, it's not going to happen. It's not going to happen, not here, not like this. No. I said no. I said no! Ow, that hurts!" Vicky said as she winced pushing him away from her just as Anastasia came out of nowhere, she had heard a few noises coming from here and followed to see, a boy she had taught in only one class forcing himself on a girl that she had taught in quite a few ones today.

She immediately saw herself as the girl and James as the guy but she couldn't let her memories stop her from doing something so she immediately went over there and pulled the boy of the girl sending him sprawling on the floor. She was after all stronger than an average human being, but not only that, during her high school, she had developed an interest in martial arts and she attended classes during her entire high school so she was pretty talented if she did say so herself. Though it did make it even worse for her when despite the fact that she knew how to fight James off, she couldn't do it because of his threat.

"Miss Williams!" Vicky said shocked.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Anastasia shouted at the boy who had picked himself off the floor, it was clear to her that he was drunk from the way he was standing.

"Miss Williams I was just..." Tyler was cut off by her angry tirade.

"No there is no excuse for trying to force yourself on a girl. Did you not hear her say no, did that not go through that thick skull of yours, that she wasn't willing or did you just not care? You know what, I don't want to know, I'm just going to warn you, that I'm a trained black belt so if you ever go anywhere near her again without her consent, I'll show you exactly why I got it." Anastasia threatened before she turned to make sure Vicky was alright, not seeing that Tyler had been getting more angry as she went on and as soon as she turned around, he advanced on her and was about to throw a punch. What he didn't know was that she had heard him, and just as Vicky screamed look out, had turned around at the last second and caught his fist, flinging her legs to lock around his neck and had him rolling forwards, pinning down his hand on the floor. (Think of Black Widow and Happy's fight, well it wasn't much of a fight since that requires the other opponent to actually do something)

A few seconds later, she picked herself up hiding the pain she felt in her abdomen at the pull of her stitches and walked away not noticing the awed eyes of not only Vicky and Tyler, who had managed to get up feeling a little more sober than before after the rough treatment, but also Jeremy, who had watched the entire thing. He had heard sounds coming from the area so he had made his way there before hearing the familiar sound of the girl he loved and the boy he hated, he sped up his pace when he saw what was happening but then a woman came out of nowhere and pulled Tyler off sending him to the floor. It brought a slight smile to his face and he was beyond grateful to the woman however he had wanted to do that himself.

Though he was impressed with what she said afterwards, that she was a black belt, he knew what that meant, that one of the hardest belts to get, how did she manage to do that, he was officially impressed. When she turned around after giving Tyler a very worthwhile dressing down, she started checking over Vick, which he was also thankful for but then he noticed Tyler getting up to punch her and he had nearly shouted out to get her attention but his voice got stuck in his throat when he saw what happened next. Now her reason for having a black belt was obvious, he had no idea how she had just flipped him over and then kept him down, despite how much he didn't want to admit it, Tyler was one of the strongest people he had met, yet she had taken him down as if it were nothing before walking away casually, as if she hadn't just done what she did.

"Well I got to say, that's something I would love to see again." He couldn't help the dig that came out of his mouth.

"You know, you're starting to get on my nerves, Gilbert." Tyler said his embarrassment turning to anger, though he had to admit that he was impressed with the woman, when she had taught him in math, she didn't seem the type of woman to know how to fight, in fact, she seemed pretty harmless but clearly that was far from the truth.

"Just go, Tyler, get the hell away from me." Vicky said after the shock had worn off, she was a little embarrassed that her teacher had found her like this but she was more grateful than anything, she had no idea what could have happened if she wasn't there.

"Wow. Vicki Donovan says no. That's a first." Tyler said before walking away, he knew he shouldn't have said that but the drinks had made him a little loose-lipped and he was full of embarrassment and though he won't admit it, shame, at what he had just tried to do, Miss Williams was right, there was never any justification for forcing himself on a girl.

"Are you okay?" Jeremy said as he went towards her concerned.

"I don't need your pity." Vicky said to him preparing to leave.

"It's not pity." Jeremy insisted stepping towards her but she just stepped away from him.

"He was just drunk." Vicky tried to justify his actions.

"I'm drunk. Am I throwing myself at you?" Jeremy said annoyed with how she was letting what he did go.

"No, you're worse. You want to talk to me, get to know me, see into my soul and screw and screw and screw until you're done with me." Vicky said a little hurt with how boys see her, like she wasn't a human being, but just a girl they can screw around with before leaving once they got bored, why should Jeremy be any different.

"Is that what you think?" Jeremy asked hurt, he liked her, loved her even, and yet she thought so low of him.

"That's what I know." Vicky said before walking off leaving him standing there alone and helpless.

[At the Bridge near the party]

"I like Bonnie, she seems like a good friend." Stefan said honestly from what he's seen of the her, Bonnie was a protective and very caring person.

"Best friend in the world." Elena said as she smiled thinking of the many memories she had with her, Caroline too, but she always got along better with Bonnie.

"And Matt, he can't seem to, uh, take his eyes off of us." Stefan said, he knew there had to have been something between them, it would explain quite a few things.

"Matt's that friend since childhood that you start dating because you owe it to yourselves to see if you can be more." Elena said truthfully, she knew it wasn't fair to Matt that she had only agreed to be his girlfriend because of this reason and the car crash, as horrible as it sounds, was an excuse she used to finally break it off.

"And?" Stefan said wanting to know why things changed between them.

"And then my parents died, and everything changes. Anyway, Matt and I, together we just, I don't know, it wasn't, um...it wasn't..." Elena tried to find the word to describe what she wanted in a relationship.

"Passionate?" Stefan asked as he looked at her wanting the same thing, he knew she was different than Katherine, and that made him want her, it wasn't the face, yes, maybe that had been what had caught his attention, but it was who she was, that made him feel this desire for her.

"No. No, it wasn't passionate..." Elena looked at him trailing off as she stared at him, she hoped that maybe she'll find that with him.

Stefan was lost in thought as he stared at her, his feelings for her heightened but it accidentally made him loose control, and his eyes begin to change.

"Hey, um, are you okay? Um, Your eye, it just, it's..." Elena said not sure of what she just saw, his eye seemed to have become more red than white, it was probably just her imagination.

"Oh, um...Yeah, no. It's, um, it's nothing. Um, are you thirsty? I'm gonna get us a drink." Stefan said hurriedly leaving, he couldn't believe he had nearly lost control.

[Near the party.]

"Jeremy? Is that you?...Jeremy?" Vicky asked after she heard a few noises behind her, as if someone was following her. Fog then began to descend around her and in her fear, she didn't notice the man standing behind her until she felt two razor sharp points pressing painfully into her neck causing her to scream out in agony.

[At the party.]

"Looking for someone?" Matt asked, he had went over to her the second he had found her alone.

"Hey." Elena said not knowing what to say to him, he had been her best friend before the relationship drama and she wished that they could have that same relationship without so many complications.

"When you broke up with me, you said it was because you needed some time alone. You don't look so alone to me." Matt said beyond hurt, he loved her more than anything else in the world and seeing her with someone else was killing him, and the worst part was that she seemed happy now. She had told him that she needed space so he held on to the hope that they would get together again after she deals with her grief. He knew it wasn't going to go away just like that so he gave her the time she needed but then come only a few months later, she was with someone else when the only thing that he thought had kept them apart was her need for time alone but she wasn't now so it seems that she had replaced him with the new guy, but he wouldn't give up on her, he wouldn't give up on them.

"Matt, you don't understand. It's..." Elena tried to come up with an excuse but she had none that could justify how much she had hurt Matt, because from his point of view her excuses were just that, excuses.

"That's okay, Elena. You do what you have to do. I just want to let you know that...I still believe in us. And I'm not giving up on that." Matt made his point to her before he walked away trying not to let his emotions show, despite the pain in his chest telling him that he might just loose her.

"Matt..." Elena trailed off as he walked away, she didn't mean to hurt him as much as she did but he had to understand that they were over now, she couldn't make herself tell him that, it would cause him unnecessary pain.

"Hey! There you are. Have you been down to the falls yet? Because they are really cool at night. And I can show you...if you want." Caroline said after she found Stefan alone, maybe this could be her shot, her drunk mind told her.

"I think you've had too much to drink." Stefan said, he knew why she kept on coming on to him and it was starting to get a little irritating, he didn't want to string her along either by not saying anything so he decided he had to be blunt.

"Well, of course I have. So..." Caroline said before she was cut off.

"Caroline. You and me, it's not gonna happen. Sorry." Stefan said before he turned around to leave but he was met by an angry Anastasia who had been wondering around looking for Caroline, out of all of them she had really liked Caroline the most and then she heard her conversation with Stefan. She knew why he did it but he didn't have to be so blunt with her and she felt beyond angry at the hurt look on her face.

"Seriously Stefan. You didn't have to be so blunt with her. Honestly boys have no tact whatsoever." Anastasia said as she shoved past him to Caroline who looked at her in gratitude, accepting the hug she offered her. Anastasia looked over her shoulder at Stefan glaring at him and he sighed as he walked back to them.

"I'm sorry Caroline." Stefan said honestly but she refused to look at him, embarrassed out of her mind, so he just looked at Ana apologetically before going to look for Elena.

"Hey don't mind him Caroline, boys can be pretty stupid sometimes, especially when they don't notice what's right in front of them before they lose it." Anastasia said trying to comfort her.

"But that's the thing, no boy notices me first. They always notice Elena, it's never me." Caroline said with slumped shoulders and a frown on her face.

"Well if its any consolation, I like you better than her, but don't tell her that." Anastasia said playfully as she let go of her looking at her in the eyes to convey her honesty.

"Really?" Caroline asked doubtfully.

"Yep. Even Liana likes you more and I trust her judgement." Anastasia said as she smiled at her.

"She likes me?" Caroline asked with a smile on her face, she really liked the adorable little kid, and she was happy to know the feeling was mutual.

"Yep, she doesn't let just anyone hold her you know, so the fact that she did means that she trusts you. Anyway, you shouldn't let boys bring you down, they're not worth it, maybe one day you'll meet a guy who'll choose you first but until then you're brilliant on your own, you don't need a guy to show you how much you're worth. Your name literally means free woman so what's the point of that when you want to get shackled with a man. You're a single pringle, enjoy it while it lasts," Anastasia said, she didn't want her to find her worth in what a boy sees in her, that wouldn't get her anywhere.

"Thank you Annie. Can I call you that?" Caroline asked as they both sat on a log together.

"Sure. I don't mind at all." Anastasia said before she said something that she wanted Caroline to believe, "Also, to add to what I said before, I want you to know that you're gorgeous and you don't need a boy noticing you to believe that, honestly the first time I saw you, I thought you were a real-life barbie doll."

Caroline looked at her with tears in her eyes, no one had ever told her that before, she always though that there had to be something wrong with her, because between her friends, despite her being popular, no boy noticed her first and if they seemed like they did, it was only to get to Elena. But right now the sting of another boy rejecting her for Elena wasn't as prominent, in fact she didn't feel it at all, she had a new best friend after all.

"Anastasia noticed the tears and was immediately concerned, "Sorry did I say something wrong? Are you alright?" She didn't expect her arms to be full of a perky blonde after she said that but she hugged her back anyway.

"There's nothing wrong. You're just the bestest friend I've ever had. I hope you understand that I'm never letting you go." Caroline said somewhat seriously.

"You're my best friend too Care but I do think you need to let me go." Anastasia said seriously.

"What! Why?" Caroline asked confused.

"Well, sorry to break it to you Care, but I really do need to breathe." Anastasia said, having a little trouble doing so with Caroline's weight on top of her as well as the twinge from her stitches, which were really beginning to annoy her.

"Oh sorry." Caroline apologised as she immediately let go of her and sat on the log next to her, they both looked at each other for a second before they burst out laughing. Once they calmed down they started talking about random shit to pass the time, though Anastasia refused to drink, she remembered the days James had come home drunk. From her experience, the worst part of a person is unleashed when you drink, it lowers your inhibitions and you become someone you might not even recognise and she would not let that happen to her.

[In the party]

Stefan makes his way to Elena, still a little down after angering Anastasia, he didn't want her to be angry at him. He sighed, he would make it up to her later.

"I was wondering who abducted you, but now I know." Elena said as she watched him come back after being subjected to Caroline, though she saw Anastasia hugging her. Why were they so close? Even her and Caroline didn't hug as often, Caroline only hugged her after her parent's death but otherwise they weren't like that and yet after meeting the girl for the second time, everyone was all over her.

"Is she like that with, uh, all the guys?" Stefan asked wondering why she kept jumping out of nowhere to talk to him, he wanted to know if she was like that with all the guys or was it just him.

"No. You're fresh meat. She'll back off eventually. Hmm. God, you gotta be kidding me!" Elena said when she noticed her drunk brother walking, or more like staggering, into the forest.

"What is it?" Stefan asked concerned.

"My brother." Elena said beyond annoyed that her time with Stefan was disturbed by him, why couldn't he just snap out of it, he didn't see her drinking to get rid of the pain.

"The drunk one?" Stefan clarified.

"That would be the one. Excuse me." Elena said as she began walking towards where her brother had gone.

"Need some help?" Stefan asked as he watched her walk away.

"Trust me, you're not going to want to witness this. Jeremy! Jeremy!" She began calling out as she followed him.

[In the woods.]

"Jeremy, where the hell are you going?" Elena asked completely done with him and his antics.

"I don't want to hear it!" Jeremy said exasperated with his sister's pestering, why couldn't she leave him well enough alone.

"Yeah, well, too bad!" Elena shouted at him as she tried to catch up to him.

Jeremy suddenly tripped over something and he picks himself up only to see Vicki's body in front of him, there was blood all over her neck.

"Vicki? No! Oh, my god, it's Vicki!" Jeremy shouted out when Elena came closer, what the hell happened, she had just left him after the confrontation and now this happened.

"Oh, my god!" Elena said her hands over her mouth in shock as she looked down at her body.

"No!" Jeremy shouted out before he tried picking her up but her couldn't pick her entire body up with how drunk he was so Elena helped him as they dragged her back to the party hoping to get some help.

[At the party.]

"Somebody help!" Jeremy shouted as they put her down on the floor, a crowd forming around them.

"Vicki? Vicki, what the hell?!" Matt screamed out as he saw the state of his sister, shoving through the crowd trying to get to her.

Anastasia heard the commotion next to Caroline and she immediately made her way there.

"What happened to her?" She asked when she saw the state of the girl she had saved, she immediately set to work as she called out for a clean cloth and for someone to call an ambulance.

"Woah what are you doing?" Jeremy asked as the girl that had saved Vicky kneeled next to her body.

"Relax I'm a doctor. I know what I'm doing." Anastasia said to him as she examined the girl.

"Everybody back up, give her some space!" Tyler said as he tried shoving some people back from the scene.

"Something obviously bit her. It's literally mangled her neck, her carotid artery is ripped open and she's losing a lot of blood." Anastasia said as a cloth was thrust into her hand and she immediately used it to press down on the wound, making sure the girl could still breathe though as she titled her head up just for added assurance.

"Vicki, Vicki, come on, open your eyes, look at me." Jeremy pleaded, and Anastasia realising he was emotionally connected to the girl, immediately thought of giving him something to do so she told him to keep her head titled as she moved her hand to the girl's wrist and whilst pressing on the wound, she also checked her heartbeat, it wasn't stable, it was slow and erratic so she told Jeremy to keep talking to her so that her heart could calm down. He did so, saying all sorts of things, not caring about the others around him and just as the ambulance came, Anastasia reassured him that her heart rate was normal. He sighed in relief at the fact but he was still concerned for Vicky as they loaded her in the ambulance. Anastasia stepped forwards towards them, her right hand covered in them but one of the male paramedics stopped her from going forwards but she looked him in the eye and pulled out her new ID she had been given yesterday. They looked wide-eyed before they immediately let her through but she turned back to the kid as she walked inside, "Don't worry kid. She'll be fine." Matt immediately came to the paramedics and after telling them that she was his sister, they ushered him inside just as Jeremy managed to say thank you before they closed the door and the ambulance sped away.
