I do not own Vampire Diaries
[In the ambulance]
Anastasia helped the paramedics with checking out Vicky's vitals before she sat back down next to the boy she had taught in a few lessons, like Math and Italian.
"Hey Matt. It's going to be okay. I've checked her over and she'll be fine. She only needs a few stitches on her neck and after a few days of taking things slowly, she'll be as right as rain, I promise." Anastasia said confidently.
"Thank you Miss Williams." Matt said gratefully as he smiled at her slightly, despite her words he was still worried for his sister but he did appreciate that she had reassured him that his sister was going to be fine.
"We're not in school, you can call me Anastasia." She smiled at him, he was a sweet boy, much different than others she had met.
"Right, Anastasia." Matt said before they both turned back to keeping an eye on Vicky. Matt was curious though so he asked, "So how are you a doctor? I thought you were a teaching assistant."
"Well I'm a part time doctor and a part time teaching assistant." Anastasia said as she continued checking the different monitors that showed Vicky's vitals.
"I've seen you around and you normally have a kid with you." Matt said curiously trying to get his mind away from what happened to his sister.
"Yeah, that kid is my daughter, her name is Lilliana by the way." Anastasia said as she smiled at him.
"You're a mother? I didn't know that. So then who's the father?" Matt asked curiously, he hadn't seen her with a man but he presumed he might be busy or something but when she flinched at his question, he was immediately concerned as he asked, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Let's just say that the father's not in the picture." Anastasia said stiffly as the ambulance stopped, they had clearly made it to the hospital so when the door opened they all got out and the bed was pushed out with Vicky on it. Matt looked at Anastasia concerned for just a moment before he followed the doctors into the hospital. Anastasia went with a nurse to get cleaned up and wear the necessary equipment before she entered the surgical room, thankfully they let her since she was more qualified than all of them to do it.
A little while later she came outside the room, having already taken off the suit that she had to wear, to see Matt in the waiting room. He quickly got up at the sight of her as she walked towards him.
"Is she okay?" Matt asked concerned.
"She's fine. I told you she would be. Now all she needs is rest. She's sleeping now but since you're family, you can see her." Anastasia said before she squeezed his shoulder and walked out the hospital. She needed a drink.
[At Salvatore Boarding House]
"What's going on?" Zach asked as his uncle barged into the house with an urgent look on his face.
"Someone else was attacked tonight, Zach, and it wasn't me." Stefan said as he made his way upstairs towards his bedroom and just as he enters it, through the window a crow suddenly flew inside. He immediately knew exactly who it was before he even turned around to see the familiar face of his brother, "Damon."
Damon smirks as he stares at Stefan's grave face, "Hello, brother."
"Crow's a bit much, don't you think?" Stefan asked making conversation as he walked around his room trying to control his frustration.
"Wait till you see what I can do with the fog." Damon says as he remembered how he had scared Katherine's look alike in the cemetery.
"When'd you get here?" Stefan asked trying to find out why his brother was back in Mystic Falls, he never did anything without a reason behind it.
"Well, I couldn't miss your first day at school. Your hair's different. I like it." Damon said smirking at him as he walked around looking around at the stuff in Stefan's room.
"It's been 15 years, Damon." Stefan said annoyed, he couldn't believe that his chance of having a normal life was now completely ruined, why the hell did his brother have to come back.
"Thank God. I couldn't take another day of the nineties. That horrible grunge look? Did not suit you. Remember, Stefan, it's important to stay away from fads." Damon continued to mockingly scold him.
"Why are you here?" Stefan asked raising his voice slightly to showcase his frustration at his brother's lack of answers.
"I miss my little brother." Damon lied just to irritate him even more, he would rather be anywhere than here with him but his love for Katherine was worth more than his hate for his brother.
"You hate small towns. It's boring. There's nothing for you to do." Stefan said confused, Damon wasn't telling him anything and he was getting increasingly irritated.
"I've managed to keep myself busy." Damon said, knowing that his lack of actual answers was getting on Stefan's nerves.
"You know, you left that girl alive tonight. That's very clumsy of you." Stefan said wondering why, normally his brother killed those he fed on. He remembered seeing Anastasia helping the girl, he had heard her say she was a doctor which confused him, he thought she was a teaching assistant, it made him realise how little he knew about her.
"Ah. That can be a problem...for you." Damon made his point clear that he couldn't care less about him.
"Why are you here now?" Stefan repeated the question he wanted the answer to.
"I could ask you the same question. However, I'm fairly certain your answer can be summed up all into one little word...Elena." Damon smirked as he said this, he could practically feel the rage from Stefan and it only made his smirk wider.
[The Woods]
Just as Matt and Anastasia leave in the ambulance with Vicky, Bonnie walks up to Elena as she said, "Hey. We're gonna go to Mainline Coffee, wait for news," referring to both her and Caroline, who was shockingly not as drunk as she thought she'd be.
"I gotta take Jeremy home." Elena said as she looked around for where he was.
"Elena, there's no way I'm psychic. I know that. But whatever I saw, or I think I saw, I have this feeling..." Bonnie said, not knowing if what she was going to say was gonna make her seem crazy.
"Bonnie, what?" Elena asked concerned, she had never seen such a grave look on her friend's face before.
"That it's just the beginning." Bonnie said ominously before they both went their separate ways, both of them feeling like things were changing in Mystic Falls.
[At Salvatore Boarding House]
"She took my breath away. Elena. She's a dead ringer for Katherine. Though that the other girl was also quite interesting, beautiful too, perhaps even moreso than Katherine, which is saying something. Anastasia, I think her name was." As soon as Damon said her name, an anger he had never seen before encompassed his brother's face.
"Stay away from her Damon. She has a child." Stefan said hoping that that would make him leave her alone, but who was he kidding, his brother was ruthless.
"Huh. Well that's news. When we talked, she looked more like a teenager." Damon said as he smirked at his brother.
"You talked to her? When? I swear if you hurt her..." Stefan began to threaten as he thought about what Damon could have done to Anastasia whilst she was alone.
"You'll what? Hmm? We both know who's stronger brother. Why don't we go back to talking about the look alike. Is it working, Stefan? Being around her, being in her world? Does it make you feel alive?" Damon began provoking him.
"She's not Katherine." Stefan said confidently, if he knew anything, it was that Elena was nothing like her, they were the polar opposites of each other, in terms of personality.
"Well, let's hope not. We both know how that ended. Tell me something, when's the last time you had something stronger than a squirrel?" Damon taunted him mercilessly.
"I know what you're doing, Damon. It's not gonna work." Stefan said as he turned around to leave the room, he refused to lose control, he's come close to doing that a little too many times.
"Yeah? Come on. Don't you crave a little?" Damon said as he began shoving Stefan trying to get a rise out of him.
"Stop it." Stefan said as he could feel his control slipping.
"Let's do it. Together. I saw a couple girls out there. Or just, let's just cut to the chase, let's just go straight for Elena or better yet, Anastasia." Damon said knowing exactly what would make him lose control.
"Stop it!" Stefan said enraged, he had already nearly lost control because of the smell of Anastasia's blood.
"Imagine what their blood would taste like!" Damon said to him and he knew from the way Stefan was clenching his fists that what he was saying was getting to him'
"I can." That was the last straw for Stefan as he turned around with his face transformed.
"I said stop!" Stefan shouted as he runs forwards right into Damon, throwing them both out the window but when he lands on the pavement, Damon wasn't there.
"I was impressed. I give it a six. Missing style, but I was pleasantly surprised. Very good with the whole face...thing. It was good." Damon praised him with a mocking undertone.
"You know, it's all fun and games, Damon, huh? But wherever you go, people die." Stefan said hatefully, he knew that with the arrival of his brother, his peaceful time in Mystic Falls was over.
"That's a given." Damon said as if it should be obvious.
"Not here. I won't allow it." Stefan said adamantly.
"I take that as an invitation." Damon smirked at him, he wouldn't pass up a chance to cause Stefan as much misery as possible.
"Damon, please. After all these years, can't we just give it a rest?" Stefan pleaded with him, even though he knew it wouldn't work, he had to try, people's lives depended on it.
"I promised you an eternity of misery, so I'm just keeping my word." Damon said as he walked towards him casually, he didn't care about anyone else but himself and getting Katherine out the tomb.
"Just stay away from Ana and Elena." Stefan said angrily, he wouldn't let him hurt them, they didn't deserve that, especially Ana, she had a child who needed her, she had no one else after all, he never asked about who the father was because something just told him not to.
"Where's your ring? Oh, yeah, sun's coming up in a couple of hours, and, poof, ashes to ashes. Relax. It's right here." Damon said before he walked closer to him and opened up his palm to show the ring. But just as Stefan grabs it and puts it on, Damon grabs him by the throat and throws him against the garage.
"You should know better than to think you're stronger than me. You lost that fight when you stopped feeding on people. I wouldn't try it again." Damon threatened him before he walked back to the house, noticing with his heightened hearing that there was a noise inside the house and he smirked as he realised why.
"I think we woke Zach up. Sorry, Zach." He said unapologetically before he made his way inside.
[The Woods]
Jeremy was drinking a beer when Elena arrives to stand next to him. She looks at him concerned as she said, "You okay? I called Jenna, she's on her way. Those people in uniforms, last time I checked, they're the police. People are going to stop giving you breaks, Jer. They just don't care anymore. They don't remember that our parents are dead, because they've got their own lives to deal with. The rest of the world has moved on. You should try, too." Elena said wanting him to stop with the drinking and drugs, it wouldn't help him but she didn't know how to tell him that.
"I've seen you in the cemetery writing in your diary. Is that-is that supposed to be you moving on?" Jeremy asked hating her hypocrisy, how could she tell him to move on when she hasn't either. They both are grieving their own way so why couldn't she leave him alone, she didn't see him pestering her every second he got a chance like she was doing to him.
Elena shook her head at that, it wasn't the same, she wasn't destroying her body, she was just coping, but she didn't want to have an argument now so she just settled with, "Mom and Dad wouldn't have wanted this."
[At Mystic Grill]
Anastasia made her way inside the now familiar place, Mystic Grill, to get a drink and so she can text her father who's probably confused at why she hadn't come yet. She then sees the familiar heads of Bonnie and Caroline and immediately walks over to them as she texted her father that she'll be back in a little while and she'll explain what happened when she comes.
"Are you sober yet?" Bonnie asks her blonde friend who looked slightly miserable.
"No." Caroline said as she thought about what had happened prior to this, she had actually been having a good time with Annie before the entire situation happened.
"Keep drinking. I gotta get you home. I gotta get me home." Bonnie said as she checked the time again.
"Why didn't he go for me? You know, how come the guys that I want never want me?" Caroline asked Bonnie, now away from Annie, she felt all her insecurities coming back.
"I'm not touching that." Bonnie said not wanting to go into that, especially with a drunk Caroline. Anastasia sits down on the chair next to her and just as Bonnie is about to greet her, Caroline carries on, not seeming to have noticed her there.
"I'm inappropriate. I always say the wrong thing. And...Elena always says the right thing. She doesn't even try! And he just picks her. And she's always the one that everyone picks, for everything. And I try so hard, and...I'm never the one."
"I thought we already had this conversation Care. One thing every girl should know is that you need to learn to love yourself first, you need to love everything that makes you you, so that you know what you deserve and what you're worth. Don't be a girl that needs a man be a girl that a man needs." Anastasia said before she got up to get a drink from the counter, she didn't notice the set of blue eyes on her figure as she sat on the stool waiting for her order.
"Hello Anastasia." A familiar voice said from next to her and she turned in her seat to see the same guy she had seen before the party.
"Oh. Hey. Damon, was it?" Anastasia asked hoping she remembered his name right.
"Yep." Damon nodded at her before he said, "So what is a beautiful woman like you doing here all alone?"
Anastasia looked at him for a second before bursting out laughing, that was nearly the same pickup line used on her in the span of two days, it was ridiculous. Once she calmed down she looked at his slightly insulted face and said, "I'm sorry but does that pickup line actually work. If so, I completely give up on my gender, because that was just pathetic." She snorted at that. just as her drink was placed in front of her, bourbon, her favourite. She only asked for half a glass, she knew that she said that she wasn't going to drink but she needed one after the hectic day, she still hadn't cleaned her stitches yet though she vowed to herself that she would when she went home, because after all the movement she did today, her stitches were beginning to throb slightly but she was good with handling pain so she didn't let it show.
Damon raised an eyebrow a little annoyed with her as he said, "As a matter of fact, yes, it has worked before so it's a wonder it didn't on you. Though I'm guessing it has something to do with that ex of yours."
Death shook his head at the Salvatore brother and wondered when the hell he would turn that pesky humanity switch back on.
Anastasia immediately sobered at that, all signs of mirth vanishing as she slammed the required money down on the counter and picked up her glass to walk back to the table but she didn't expect him to grab a hold of her arm. The abrupt stop caused her to nearly drop her glass she was holding and her stitches to pull slightly which made her involuntarily wince as her hand moved to touch her abdomen as she set the glass down on the counter.
"What the hell?" Anastasia said as she pulled her arm from his grip feeling suffocated by the restriction. She suddenly felt her stitches begin throbbing, clearly they've had enough. She was a doctor and if her patient did what she did today after the stitches being so fresh she would have been furious. She really needed to rest, right after she changes her bandages, which she just realised she could do with magic like she had done the other day so she thankfully didn't need to go to the hospital and ask for one.
"Sorry." Damon said as he let her pull her arm away, he had noticed her wince when he had grabbed on to it as her other arm covered her stomach in the exact same place that he had smelt a faint scent of blood. He then noticed exactly what drink she ordered and he smirked as he said, "A girl after my own heart."
Anastasia looked at him in bafflement before she said, "I'm sorry what?"
"Bourbon's my favourite too." Damon explained when he noticed her bewildered face.
"Oh. Right. Just great." Anastasia said derisively as she turned around to leave before she heard the familiar voice of the bartender who she had talked to the other day.
"Hey." He called out to her when he saw her about to move away.
"Oh hey, how are you?" Anastasia asked with a smile on her face.
"I'm good. I just wanted to say that I talked to the manager and he said that you can come whenever you want to. He won't pay you at first but after a few performances he might think on doing it depending on how good you are." Aiden said to the girl.
"Really?" Anastasia perked up happily.
"Yep. Anytime you like." Aiden replied with a smile at her, she was adorable.
"Yes. Thank you so much." Anastasia said with a bright smile on her face as Damon looked between the two with a slight scowl on his face, he hated being ignored especially when he had been talking to her first.
"No problem though you probably should be thanking the manager." Aiden said though he appreciated it nonetheless.
"True, I will later. Before I go what's your name, I forgot to ask." Anastasia said apologetically.
"It's Aiden and what's yours gorgeous?" He asked with a flirty smile but she could see it was more playful than anything and she rolled her eyes before she smirked at him as she said, "Earn it and I'll tell you."
"Hmm. Now what do I have to do to earn the honour of knowing your name which I'm pretty sure will be as beautiful as you?" He flirted smoothly not noticing the glare directed his way by none other than Damon.
"We'll see. Ok, now I have to go bye Aiden." Anastasia said and he waved at her before attending one of the customers then she turned to Damon as she said, "Goodbye Damon." She wanted to get away from him, he had made her feel safe before but now, there was something about the way he talked, smirked and held himself that made her feel otherwise.
"Wait. I wanted to apologise for bringing up your ex. I didn't know it was that much of a sore subject." Damon said, he did know though, it didn't take a genius to put the dots together, the way she flinched from his touch, the panic attack and how skinny she was, all lead to her being abused and her ex the sole reason.
"It's fine." Anastasia said, it wasn't fine but what else could she say.
Damon then picked up her money she put on the counter and just as she was about to say something, he gave her the money back as he said, "Your drink's on me. Think of it as an apology." Then he pulled a note out his pocket and put it on the counter. He could see that she was angry at him before so he paid for her drink so that she wouldn't be, he didn't know if he would need her in the future so he would rather her like him enough to help him because he could tell from his brother's face, the moment he said her name, and the nickname Stefan had given her, that they were fairly close so if Stefan pissed him off, he knew exactly who to use.
"Uh thank you. You didn't have to do that." Anastasia said confused, what was he trying to do, she could see a hint of insincerity in his eyes and that caused her walls to go up, she wouldn't let another man play her like James had done.
"I did and no problem." Damon answered her and she looked at him for a second as if contemplating what to make of him before she shook her head and walked back to the table where Bonnie and Caroline were.
"Hey guys." Anastasia said as she sat down on the table taking a sip of her bourbon.
"Hey Annie, who was that guy you were talking to?" Caroline asked as she stared hungrily at the delectable looking guy sitting on the stool.
"I met him before the party." Anastasia said shortly, she didn't want Caroline near the guy, he was too confusing and the dangerous vibes he was giving out reminded her of what she felt around James, it was unsettling.
"Anastasia I wanted to ask, what happened to Vicky?" Bonnie asks saving Anastasia from one of Caroline's famous investigations, not knowing that a certain raven haired vampire was listening intently to their conversation.
"She needed around a dozen stitches which wasn't hard to do sothankfully there was no complications during the surgery. So she'll be fine after a few days of rest." Anastasia explained before she drank the rest of her Bourbon preparing to go home.
"Wait you did the surgery?" Caroline asked shocked.
"Uh yeah." Anastasia said uncomfortably as she looked at their shocked faces.
"I was wondering why they let you go in the ambulance." Caroline said now understanding why.
"So you're a doctor and a teaching assistant?" Bonnie asked curious, how is she going to do both, or is she just qualified to be a doctor but only working as a teaching assistant.
"Yep. I am a part time doctor and part time teaching assistant." Anastasia said before she checked her watch and her eyes widened at the time, it was past 10, she really needed to get home. She quickly said as she got up, "Sorry guys but I have to go. I need to feed Liana." The both smiled at her before she quickly went outside Mystic Grill to see how dark it was. Great. Just great. She had to walk all the way home but just as she was about to start walking, she heard Bonnie's voices call out to her from behind her and she turned around confused.
"Hey I'm going home too and I heard from Elena that you live far away, so want a lift?" Bonnie asked her, she didn't want her to walk home in the dark, nothing happened in Mystic Falls but she still shouldn't have to walk all the way home in the dark.
"Really? You wouldn't mind?" Anastasia asked hopefully.
"Of course not." Bonnie said before they both walked to her car and got in. After putting their seatbelts on Anastasia began leading Bonnie to where her house was and a few minute drive later, her car parked in front of her home.
"Thanks Bon Bon." Anastasia said as she turned to her friend, who was too busy staring wide-eyed and open mouthed at her house and she couldn't help but say, "If you don't close your mouth, you'll catch flies."
"Right. Yeah. Wow." Bonnie said as she stared at the beautiful house.
"Ok bye Bon Bon. I really have to go." Anastasia said as she waved at Bonnie before she entered the gate into her house. She quickly walked to the front door and unlocked it with the key her dad had given her, she walked inside and locked the door behind her. She called out to her dad as she walked inside and his voice came from the kitchen so she opened the door to see him sitting on the chair by the counter with a drink in his hand.
"Where's Liana?" Anastasia said as she walked towards him and sat down on the other chair.
"She's in bed." Her father said shortly as he took a sip from his glass. She looked at the drink warily, hoping that it was only the first glass.
"Has she eaten?" Anastasia asked concerned.
"Yeah I gave her the food you told me to." He said rolling the drink in his glass.
"Right." Anastasia nodded awkwardly as she fiddled with the end of her skirt.
"Do you know what time it is?" Her father asked taking another sip.
"Uh. Last time I checked it was a little more than 10 o'clock." Anastasia said unsure.
"It's 10:34. You were supposed to come home ages ago. Where the hell were you?" Her father shouted at her and she flinched away from him, immediately getting off her chair and stepping back. He sighed pinching the bridge of his nose before her turned back to his drink as he said, "I'm not him Anastasia."
"I know that." Anastasia said but she refused to sit back down next to him so she just stood by the counter as she said, "I told you about the party which only lasted an hour or so, but then a girl was attacked. I had to do something so I helped her before the paramedics arrived and then performed surgery on her afterwards. Then I just went to the nearest restaurant to grab a drink, which only took a few minutes and one of my friends then dropped me off here."
"A girl was attacked?" Her father said as he turned to face her, he knew his daughter was a doctor so he could understand why she helped the girl.
"Yeah. I don't know what it was. Her neck was literally mangled and her carotid artery ripped open. Maybe it was some sort of animal, I don't know." Anastasia said shrugging her shoulders before she said, "Anyway I need to change out of these clothes and go to bed. Goodnight dad."
He sighed as he watched his daughter walk to her room before he drunk the rest of his glass and walked to his office considering the thoughts rolling around in his head, was it what he thought it was, an animal attack would have mangled the entire body not just the neck so there was a huge possibility that it was.
Anastasia walked inside her room to see her daughter sleeping on the bed cuddled up next to her favourite teddy bear and she couldn't help the smile that formed on her face. She walked up to the bed and stroked the hair back from her daughter's face as she bent down to kiss her forehead before walking to the bathroom after grabbing a change of clothes.
She went inside and after taking off her shirt she noticed the slight blood spots on her bandage so she waved her hand to vanish it. She saw that her stitches were pulled in some places, which was why the place where the stitches were put through, was where the skin was slightly ripped so she rolled her eyes and used her magic to tighten the stitches gasping at the pain as she did so. Once she was done, she waved her hand and bandages appeared out of nowhere and began wrapping around her stomach. After that she finally changed into her clothes and plaited her hair before finishing everything else she needed to do in the bathroom.
After all that she went under the covers next to her little angel and only then did she realise that she hadn't eaten anything since breakfast in the morning, she hadn't eaten at lunch in the school either, guess old habits die hard. She knew she was skinny and that it wasn't healthy so she vowed to herself that she would start to eat properly from tomorrow, she wouldn't let James's stupid rules control her life now. And with that thought she closed her eyes just as her daughter rolled around in bed and cuddled up next to her, which she smiled at, wrapping an arm around her little angel as she went to sleep.
[At the Hospital]
Matt is sitting in a chair in Vicky's room in the hospital when she suddenly wakes up.
"Vicki...Hey. Hey, it's okay. You're gonna be okay." Matt said beyond relieved that his sister finally woke up.
"Matt..." Vicky tried to choke out through the throbbing in her throat.
"Hey, don't try to talk, okay? You're fine." Matt said trying to reassure her that she was fine now.
"Vampire." Vicky said as she remembered what had attacked her but Matt only looked at her bewildered.
[At the Gilbert Residence/Salvatore Boarding House]
"Dear diary, I couldn't have been more wrong. I thought that I could smile, nod my way through it; pretend like it would all be ok." Elena wrote down in her diary not knowing that the boy she was growing to like more and more by the day was doing the exact same thing.
"I had a plan. I wanted to change who I was; create a life as someone new, someone without the past." Stefan wrote as he knew with the sudden arrival of his brother, the life he envisioned for himself would never be the same.
"Without the pain." Elena wrote referring to the crash that had changed everything for her.
"Someone alive." Stefan wrote referring to the girl he was beginning to fall for, she wasn't like Katherine, she wasn't a vampire, she was a human being and that was the first thing that caught his attention after he realised she looked like Katherine.
"But it's not that easy. The bad things stay with you." Elena wrote as she remembered her talk with Jeremy, he was right, they were both not moving on, what happened will always stay with them.
"They follow you." Stefan wrote referring to his brother.
[At Mystic Grill]
Caroline was still sitting alone at the table contemplating what Annie had told her, she was right, she wasn't going to chase a man, they had to notice her first, and just as she thought that, Damon turns to look at her, the Sheriff's daughter, she would be useful, very useful indeed.
"You can't escape them, as much as you want to." Elena wrote in her diary not knowing the fate of her friend as Damon smiled at the girl, he had heard the girl talking and knew that it wouldn't take much to get her in his bed, and he was right because she smiled back at him invitingly.
[At Gilbert Residence]
Elena then wrote, "All you can do is be ready for the good. So when it comes, you invite it in, because you need it. I need it." She puts the pen inside her diary closing it as she turned around to see outside her window only to Stefan standing there. She looked at him in confusion but with a smile on her face as she hurries downstairs to open the door for him.
"I know it's late. But, uh...I needed to know that you were ok." Stefan said to her, he was there to see if she was ok but also because he was afraid Damon will make through with his threat to taste her blood, he needed to keep watch over her to make sure she'll be safe.
"You know, for months, that's all anyone's wondered about me. If I'll be ok." Elena said at the repeat of the words she had heard so many times after the crash, she still didn't know if she was but for some reason whenever Stefan was near, the loss didn't feel as painful anymore, he had a way of making her forget all her worries and she loved that.
"What do you tell them?" Stefan asked curious.
"That I'll be fine." Elena answered, what else do you say to people when they ask if you're fine, it was just instinct to tell them you're fine, and it's what they expect to hear so why say anything else.
"Do you ever mean it?" Stefan said, he knew from the talk they had on the bridge that she didn't, because it was obvious how much it was affecting her and she clearly wasn't ok.
"Ask me tomorrow. It's warmer in the house. We can talk. Would you like to come in?" Elena asked hopefully, with him there she could forget for a while.
"Yes." Stefan answered happy that he had an invite to her house, now he could protect her properly so he stepped inside as she closed the door behind him.
