I do not own Vampire Diaries
Anastasia immediately stepped back at the sight and unbeknownst to her, her magic had reacted to her fear forming a dome around her. He was a vampire, Stefan was a vampire, oh my god, she couldn't believe it, one of her best friends was a vampire.
"Y-you're a vampire." Anastasia said with a slightly shaky voice, she wasn't as scared as she probably should have been considering she was one too but it was just a shock to the system to see Stefan suddenly vamp out at her, which also was confusing, she had thought they were friends, why did he look like he was going to attack her. before she realised vampires drink blood and because of her wound, he could probably smell it.
Stefan immediately calmed down after hearing her speak before his eyes widened horrified, he had nearly attacked Ana, the girl he had come to think of as a little sister. Shit, she knew what he was, he had to compel her like he did Vicky so he immediately vamped towards her but he didn't expect his entire body to back into... nothing, there was literally nothing in front of him, what the hell.
Damon had seen the entire thing play out and had noticed that as soon as his brother lost control, Anastasia's eyes had glowed gold and a shimmer of light had descended around her before disappearing as if there was nothing there. He was confused, what on earth was that, he would have thought it was a trick of the light if Stefan hadn't banged into what he now thought was some sort of invisible shield.
"What are you?" Damon asked as he walked closer to her before his foot connected with the shield and he stopped as he raised his hand and touched the shield, it felt solid, was she a witch? He had never met a witch whose eyes glow gold.
"What do you mean?" Anastasia asked, though she knew what he was asking, her magic had apparently created a shield around her, the same one that she had created when Alexander had visited her. She refused to drop it thought despite the energy it was seeping from her, her stomach was throbbing more and more as each second passed but she couldn't do anything now.
"I think you know what I mean Anastasia." Damon said glaring at her, he wanted to know what she was.
"No I don't." Anastasia said firmly, despite the fact that she did, she didn't want to clue them in on exactly what she was yet, because right now she didn't trust either of them.
"Ana." Stefan began but he didn't really know what to say, what could you say in this situation. He couldn't smell her blood now for some reason probably because of the invisible shield she had around her.
"Stefan. What the hell is going on? Why did you just try to attack me? I thought we were friends." Anastasia said looking at him in what he thought was something like betrayal.
"I didn't mean to Ana. I lost control. The smell of your blood... I couldn't control myself. I'm so sorry Ana." Stefan said apologetically, he didn't know what else to say.
"No I am not talking about that, I got that when I realised you were a vampire. I am talking about right now, you just tried to attack me again." Anastasia said referring to how he had banged into the shield using his super speed.
"I wasn't going to attack you Ana. I was going to compel you." Stefan said realising he had to tell her the truth so that she didn't believe that he would attack her, though he was surprised at how she didn't seem to mind the vampire part.
"You were going to make me forget, weren't you?" Anastasia asked him beyond angry though she did understand, this was how they kept themselves hidden but still, they were friends.
"How do you know that?" Damon asked her trying to intimidate her.
"I... Uh... Well..." Anastasia fumbled for an answer as the pain in her stomach increased, she really needed to take care of the clear rip in her stitches, she was getting sick and tired of ripping her stitches, it was honestly getting annoying.
"I asked you a question. How do you know?" Damon asked her wishing he could go through the damned shield, she clearly wasn't intimidated by him when she was behind it.
"Well, you see, I sort of have these dreams." Anastasia said going for the first excuse she could, before she nearly groaned at her stupidity, wonderful, she just gave them something to hold over her, great, just great, the blood loss was clearly affecting her more than she thought.
"Dreams? Are you saying you're a what, Fortune teller?" Damon asked mockingly.
"It's clear you don't believe me but I'm pretty sure those two campers that one of you ate last night would disagree with you." Anastasia said annoyed with his mockery before she nearly shut her eyes in anger at herself, she clearly had no filter for her mouth when she was feeling woozy from blood loss.
"You could have easily connected the dots after hearing the news and finding out we're vampires." Damon said dismissively.
"Maybe but I wouldn't know from the news that whoever killed them had left the boy up in the trees with his blood dripping on the forest floor and when the girl ran to her car, someone dropped from above landing behind her and killed her." Anastasia explained the scene she remembered from her dreams, she wouldn't tell them that that was her first vision or they'd be confused where she got compelling from that, when in reality it was because she was a vampire herself.
"Oh." Damon replied as he stared at her in a new light.
"So it was you then? You're a vampire too?" Anastasia asked him warily, now she knew why she felt a dangerous air around him, he was a vampire and a dangerous one at that.
"Yes. I am." Damon replied as he smirked at her.
"Wonderful. Just wonderful. And here I thought things couldn't get any worse. Do you both feed on people?" Anastasia asked them wondering how many people they had killed and eaten, Vicky was one of them and she could easily tell that it was Damon not Stefan.
"No I don't. I drink animal blood." Stefan responded quickly, he didn't want her to think more ill of him than she probably already does.
"Well atleast that's something though I'm guessing you feed on humans." Anastasia said looking at Damon who seemed to be lost in thought.
"Yep." Damon said as he gave her his signature smirk before he asked curious, "What else do you see in these dream of yours? The future or the past?"
"That's for me to know and you to never find out." Anastasia replied before groaning as she held her stomach, the pain was becoming worse and her shield couldn't stay up any longer but she tried holding on for a while, she still didn't trust them.
"Ana are you alright?" Stefan asked her concerned before his eyes widened as he realised that the patch on her dress was growing, he had forgotten the fact that she was injured so he tried to go to her but the shield was still up.
"I'm fine Stefan." Anastasia said and he couldn't help but feel a little hurt at her use of his full name, she hadn't called him that since she had started calling him the ridiculous names she had come up with.
"No you're not. You're loosing too much blood." Stefan said concerned.
"Well since you both already know I might as well just do it." Anastasia said as she waved her hand and cleaned the blood from her dress. She refused to remove it so instead she began doing what she did the other times, removing the bandages, doing the stitches again before putting an new bandage around her whilst her dress was on. It was hard to do but she managed thankfully and five minutes later as the brother stared at the different hand gestures and the constant glow of her eyes, she was finally done.
"You're a witch." Damon stated despite his confusion, she seemed more powerful than the witches he's met because despite being wounded and with crutches, she managed to hold a shield over her and take care of her wound as well and she only looked slightly tired whilst the witches he knew would have probably passed out. She would be very useful.
"No shit Sherlock." Anastasia said to him as she finally felt a little better though she still felt weak from the blood loss. Before anyone could say anything else, the doorbell rang and they all turned to the direction of the door as they all wondered who was going to open it. Stefan didn't want to leave Damon alone with Ana, Damon refused to leave because he wanted her to drop the shield so that he could try and compel her, maybe because she was a different witch he could compel her and Anastasia refused to drop her shield. After a few minutes with no one budging, Anastasia sighed as she dropped the shield to go and open the door, this was getting ridiculous. She didn't expect to Damon to zoom up to her and slam her into the wall, her crutches falling to the floor, and she was in the exact same position she was in when she was with Mr Tanner and she felt immediately suffocated at the contact.
"Tell me exactly what you are and everything that you know." Damon held her head trying to compel her as he stared into her fearful eyes.
"The idiot." Death said and if he could, he would have face-palmed, and that was evidence that he didn't control everything. It already told him that It was going to take a while before they got together.
"You can say that again. Are you sure that's the guy for her?" Life asked her brother, her had been adamant that if anyone can get through to her heart, it would be him but from her point of view, it didn't look like that was going to happen at all.
"Positive. It will just take time sister." Death said to her and she scoffed before walking out the room.
"G-get o-off me." Anastasia tried to say and her magic reacted and through him off of her as she pressed herself against the wall breathing heavily as memories began swirling around in her mind and she didn't realise that she was having a panic attack until she felt someone shaking her. She looked up into Stefan's concerned frantic eyes but her mind didn't register that, instead she felt the hands restricting her and all of a sudden she couldn't breathe. She felt the black spots entering her vision as she tried to pull herself out of his grip, but to no avail, James had always been stronger than her after all.
