Derek had begun to find solace on the beach. The wind rustling through the large palm trees and the occasional squeal of a seagull and the warm water engulfing his feet as he walked. His heart felt heavy, and his chest never stopped hurting, yet even with the pain he was numb.

Each morning he walked the seven miles down the private beach and back to the beach house he had been renting for the last six months. His mother and sisters had stopped asking him when he was coming home. Hotch had replaced him on the team, and everyone had gone back to their lives; everyone except him. For Derek life had ended six months ago when Penelope disappeared. He felt dead inside, and he hated himself for being a coward for not doing something to make his death official.

"You've got to stop this, Derek. You have to go on with your life."

Derek felt the older man's hand on his shoulder. He meant well, he knew but how could he suggest that he give up on his wife. Penelope would never give up on him if he were the one who had suddenly vanished into thin air.

Derek shook his head and fought back the tears that insisted on falling down his face. He would die, officially die before he would stop looking for her. She was his wife, his life...his only reason for getting up every day.

"Derek, your mother, and sisters are worried sick! Come home!"

"This is home, Dave. Until I find her, this is home."

Dave had arrived late last night, and he knew he would never convince his stepson to return to Quantico with him, but he promised his wife that like every month before he would try and like the other months, he failed.

"Come on, breakfast is ready."

"Dave..."

"You've gotta eat, okay? Humor me at least. I have to be able to tell your mother that I at least got you to eat."

Derek nodded and followed Dave back to the house.

Penelope jumped at the sound of the door creaking open announcing his arrival. She looked up at him carrying a large tray, smiling as he placed it on the table across the room. She hated him, she hated the food he forced her to eat, and she hated his hands on her and the sound of his voice threatening her as he warned her what would happen if she didn't do as she was told.

"Good morning beautiful! I'm glad to see that you're awake."

He sat next to her on the bed and ran his hand lightly down her face, searching her eyes for something, anything that would give him a clue that she had finally accepted her fate. Like every other morning all he could see was rage and tears. If only she knew that what he saw only made him more determined to break her and to win her mind and her heart.

"I made your favorite this morning. I know how you like blueberry waffles and bacon, extra crispy."

"I'm not hungry."

Penelope recoiled as he placed his hand on her swollen belly.

"Remember what the doctor said, you have to eat. The baby is counting on you."

His hands moved slowly from her stomach to her breast resting on one then the other, fondling and tweaking her tender nipples.

"Your breasts are so huge now, even bigger than before."

He kissed one sucking it while the other hand was occupied with the other. Then switching he repeated his actions while Penelope sat ridged on the bed with her eyes closed. This had become a constant habit of her captor's and it made her sick to her stomach.

Then he looked up hopefully, desperately wanting her to see him for the man she would spend her last days with. All he saw was her tears and closed eyes as she leaned her head against the wall.

"I can make you happy if you weren't so stubborn."

His hands moved down her body, forcing her legs apart and her knees up then pressing his thumb against her core before pushing it inside her.

"I was happy before you kidnapped me and stole me from my life."

"I don't care how long it takes Penelope; I'm going to make you mine. You're going to want me in every way, just like I want you."

He watched her shake her head in defiance as tears continued to flow.

"Never...never..."

He closed his mind to her words. He would break her, he would. She was so stubborn he thought as he climbed on top of her spreading her legs further apart to make room for him.

"But I will Penelope," he responded as he entered her unwilling body, "I will."

Home of Derek and Penelope Morgan – 6 ½ months ago – Morning

She'd been feeling run down for the last week. She assumed it was the flu even though in the back of her mind she suspected it was more than the flu. She and Derek had been trying for the last two years to have a baby with no luck and even now as she looked at the three sticks on the counter and the one in her hand, she still couldn't believe it.

She was pregnant.

"Baby Girl we're going to be late! Hotch has already warned us what would happen if we missed another team meeting!"

Derek's voiced boomed from downstairs, and she wondered how she would tell her husband that they were finally going to be parents.

"Garcia!"

"Coming!"

Her news would have to wait. Perhaps she would tell him once they arrived in Hawaii. She knew he'd be happy both had wanted a baby for a long time, and she silently wondered if she'd be able to give him the child he so desperately wanted. It was settled, she'd keep her secret and then the two of them would be able to enjoy the news alone. So much of their lives were lived with the others and nothing was left just for them. This vacation would be their chance to have a moment of joy...just the two of them, just the two of them.

Present –

His moans and grunts pulled her from her thoughts. She wished she had told Derek about the baby; it didn't matter now she would still be here alone with the monster who had taken her away from the only happiness she'd ever known.

"You like it, Penelope? You feel me?"

Back and forth between moans and the sweat dripping from his body onto her face, he roughly pounded in and out of her. She hated him, she wished she had died six months ago...she wished Derek would find her, but it had been six months and she was beginning to wonder if he was even looking for her.

"Oh yeah Baby...give it to me! Is this how you like it? Yeah, you're mine now, forever, and ever!"

"Derek, help me please! Where are you? I need you, we both need you!"

With his last grunt he collapsed on top of her. It took several minutes before he caught his breath and pulled himself from her body.

"Wow, you must be hungry, I know I am," he chuckled.

Slowly he climbed off her and slid out of bed. Then holding out his hand toward her he smiled confidently.

"Come on before our food gets cold, because you're going to need your strength for round two."
