CHAPTER ONE - FUNNY FEELINGS

The first things Kaoru noticed when he opened his eyes much to his dismay was the sunlight streaming through the tall drapery of his bedroom. He squinted against the light. What time was it? Why wasn't his alarm going off? He remembered telling Hikaru last night that he wanted to sleep in his own room, he must have forgotten to set his alarm before he fell asleep. For a second Kaoru considered getting up, he needed to start getting ready, he judged it be about 7:45-8 AM right now, he needed to get to school soon. But he only debated for a second before clinging the large duvet closer to his chest, pulling the top over his head to return to his dark peaceful abys. Kaoru was not feeling school today, nothing about his body or brain had been feeling correct the past week, Kaoru currently woke up feeling agitated and down. 'Maybe I'm just getting sick', Kaoru thought to himself before falling back into a grey slumber.

"Kaoru come on get up, seriously we're going to be late", Was what Kaoru heard the second time he opened his eyes, right before being blindly shoved off the bed. His twin brother Hikaru standing over him with an irritated yet satisfied crooked smirk. "I'm sorry but I already asked you three times to get up. I'm serious don't make us late". And with that Hikaru swept from the room as quickly as he came in. Kaoru groaned before stretching and rising from his puddle of blankets on the floor. 'What's the big deal, were already late. Why not go and just leave me here?' Kaoru thought to himself glumly before sulking to his closet in pursuit of his school uniform.

"About time, get in the car!" Hikaru called from the driveway. He had been waiting outside for the last 20 minutes while Kaoru moved at the pace of a snail getting ready. Kaoru couldn't help the fact that he didn't feel bad. He wasn't feeling very compassionate today. "Yeah whatever, don't talk to me. I can't believe you shoved me out of the bed. What if I got hurt, why didn't you just go to school without me. You don't have to be tied to my hip all the time Hikaru!", Kaoru spat at him, every word laced with venom. It's hard to say which twin was shocked more at the little speech. Kaoru couldn't believe what he just said to his own brother. What's wrong with him? Why has he been so hostile lately? Kaoru shoved his airpods deep into his ears turning the music all the way up trying to forget the conversation. The rest of the ride to school was silent. Hikaru looked on worriedly at his brother wondering the same exact things. Was Kaoru okay? When they arrived at the school Kaoru angrily opened the door to the limo before stomping to his first class alone without looking back or waiting for Hikaru, who anxiously watched from behind.

Classes flew by for Kaoru, but not in a good way. They all seemed to blend together, no knowledge being absorbed whatsoever. Kaoru would simply arrive at each class and would stick his nose in a book or a project. Anything to avoid any of his classmates from communicating with him. Kaoru felt as if his mind was ablaze with agony and despair. His thoughts screaming at him for help, a release from the pain he was feeling. When the last bell finally rang Kaoru felt as if a weight had dropped in his stomach. It was time to go entertain at the host club. Boy was it going to be a long day.
